Chapter 94 Sensed Hate

At FentonWorks, Danny finished up his lightsaber practice and went to go see his mother, who was doing a little meditating in the living room. Maddie opened her eyes and looked at Danny and saw that something was bothering and she had a good idea of what that might be. She motioned for Danny to come sit across from her. Danny went over and sat down.
"I sensed a disturbance in the Force and whatever it was, you had a stronger connection to it then I did." Said Maddie looking at Danny.
"I did. It was like nothing I've ever felt before. It felt like a dagger of pure hate and spite was forged and directed at my entire being. The scary thing...though I think I know who the hate was coming from." Said Danny.
"Who?" Asked Maddie, though she had a good idea who the culprit was.
"My clone. Wraith. I don't know how exactly, but I felt her rage in the Force from a great distance." Said Danny.
"That could be because Wraith is your clone and in a sense she is your sister. I remember a couple of Jedi twins back in the Clone Wars, who had a strong connection with one another through the Force. It isn't too hard to imagine you having some kind of strong connection to Wraith through the Force." Said Maddie scratching her chin.
"But why would Wraith have so much hatred towards me?" Asked Danny.
"It's most likely Vlad or one of his subordinates doing. Vlad is strong in the Force and very manipulative. We don't have a full scope of what resources Vlad has at his disposal or what his people are capable of." Said Maddie.
"Is there some way I could use this connection to communicate with Wraith?" Asked Danny.
"Possibly, though I recommend not doing it." Said Maddie.
"Why not?" Asked Danny.
"Trying to use your connection to Wraith to communicate would be very dangerous, especially in the state of mind she is currently in. Wraith could lash out at you and damage your mind or extract information about you or the Rebels from it." Said Maddie.
"I...understand. I just don't like leaving Wraith alone, while I might be able to communicate and help her. She might be a clone and our enemy, but shes also a...victim in this. Vlad had her created and plans to use her as a weapon. His manipulating her and that's just wrong." Said Danny looking a little frustrated.
"You have a good heart Danny. You desire to help those around you and I understand you want to help Wraith, I really do. We just can't rush into anything right now. There are too many things we just don't fully understand yet, so we just have to be patient and see how things play out." Said Maddie putting a hand on Danny's shoulder and smiled at him.
"I guess you're right." Said Danny with a nod as he stood up and headed to his room.
Maddie watched her son leave. The whole business with Wraith was very concerning. The clone had displayed a good amount of skill in both the lightsaber and the Force. Now Wraith was displaying a great deal of hate towards Maddie's son. Hate was a big part of the Dark Side of the Force. There was a good chance Wraith may not be able to be saved or helped, when next she encountered Danny and Maddie. Not to mention the possibility that Vlad had a cloning facility out there and could make an army of clones like Wraith. An army like that could crush the Rebel Alliance with ease. Maddie had informed Sam about the encounter with Wraith and that she was a clone. Sam said she would look into. Maddie could only hope that the cloning facility was located, so it could be destroyed. That would solve one big problem and keep Vlad from creating an army of Force using clones. After that was done Maddie could focus her attention on how to deal with Wraith.
Up in space aboard the Leviathan, Fright Knight was in his personal quarters practicing with his lightsaber, when he felt a surge of hate from aboard the ship that stopped him in mid swing. Fright Knight used his connection to the Force to sense where the hatred was coming from and was startled to see it was coming from the child known as Wraith. The child was incredibly young yet the hate she was radiation was massive. It was a bit unsettling and Fright Knight wondered if there were other forces at play here. Wraith was a mystery to Fright Knight, so he had Download look into it. Vlad was obviously hiding something and Wraith was a part of it. Fright Knight planned to find out what it was and put a stop to it.
Vlad was in his office speaking with Freakshow. The two of them were sharing notes and info about Pandora's Box and where it might be located. Freakshow had been doing research on the box and it's location, when he had worked and lived on Draga and had made some minor success in locating a possible system the box might be located. Combined with Vlad's own research and considerable resources the two were confident that they would eventually locate the planet the box was on. Vlad and Freakshow were going over their notes, when both felt Wraith's hate. Freakshow was utterly speechless by the sheer hate he sensed. Vlad was stunned by the hate he felt from Wraith and then he smiled. The experiment was a success! Both Technus and Spectra had told him about the Dark Amplifier and it's purpose. If the device could amplify Wraith's hated to this level and power, then it would greatly increase his own power as well. With power like that and an army of clones that could use the Force to back him up, Vlad could defeat both Vader and the Emperor and takeover the Empire. No one would be able to stop him!
"Calm yourself Vlad. You don't yet know if the device has any negative side affects yet. Best to put Wraith through a few real combat tests before you try it out." Thought Vlad as he turned to his computer and began to type on it.
Vlad decided a little sparring match between Wraith and Fright Knight would be a good start. He looked through some files and smiled as he landed on the one about planet Froza. A planet the Rebels had helped liberate from the Empire's control a few months ago. It would be a perfect test for Wrath to lead a attack on the planet and perhaps it would lure Phantom and Maddie out into the open to be taken down. Vlad just smiled and laughed. Oh this was going to be a glorious victory for him and the Empire.
