Chapter 109 Truce

Danny found himself going on the defensive as Wraith rained blow after blow down on him and he blocked them with his lightsaber and backed away from the clone. He could sense Wraith's anger, but it felt different from the previous encounters. Maybe Danny could reason with Wraith and not have to fight her.
"Wraith please stop! I'm not here to fight you!" Pleaded Danny.
"Nice try Phantom, but I'm not falling for your tricks. The Rebels and pirates are clearly working together to bring a blow to the Empire. This attack is something the Rebels would do and they would benefit from it, well that won't happen on my watch!" Yelled Wraith.
Wraith charged at Danny, who deflected her blows and then he jumped over Wraith using the Force and put some distance between them.
"The Rebels and pirates are not working together. We would never take innocent people hostage. I heard about what was going on at the Capitol and my team and I came to help. We've been taking pirates down and rescuing hostages since we arrived." Said Danny.
"A likely story. You'll say anything to make me drop my guard." Said Wraith as she continued to attack Danny.
Jazz watched the fight and studied Phantom and the allies that had accompanied him. She considered Phantom's words and her past experience with the masked Rebel. Phantom had saved Jazz's life from a group of crazed criminals in the Tartarus and from what she had learned from various reports the Rebels only attacked places with large military presences, which the Capitol didn't have. The pirates didn't behave or act anything like the Rebels and it seemed very unlikely that the Rebels would form an alliance with them. Jazz watched as Phantom continued to dodge and block Wraith's attacks as he tried to reason with her. What Phantom had said was true, he wasn't here to fight, he was here to help. Jazz didn't understand Wraith's hatred towards Phantom, but she had to put a stop to it, before someone got hurt or killed.
Johnny, Kitty, and Shadow watched the fight between Danny and Wraith in amazement not sure what to do. They considered shooting at Danny,but Wraith was too close, so there was a chance they might hit her by accident and if they didn't hit her there was the chance she might retaliate against with her lightsaber and either kill them or knock them out and hand them over to the Empire to be arrested. There was also the three people who accompanied Danny to worry about.
Crash, Valerie, and Tucker watched Danny and Wraith fight unsure of what to do. Crash was a bit amazed by Wraith's appearance and combat skills. He had heard about the clone, but this was his first time seeing her in action. Wraith had many of Danny's physical traits and seemed as skilled with a lightsaber as Danny. Crash then turned his attention to Jazz. He had been shown a few pictures of Jazz, by Maddie and knew right away that this was Maddie's daughter and Danny's sister. Crash was fixing to head over to Jazz and try to convince her, he was here to help and then get Jazz to safety, but things suddenly took a crazy turn.
Danny managed to knock Wraith back from himself using the Force to push her back, which only seemed to anger Wraith even more. Wraith pointed her free hand at Danny and struck at him with the Force. Danny quickly countered and struck out with the Force as well. The air in front of them seemed to ripple and shimmer and then it just exploded knocking everyone in the lobby down. Jazz groaned as she stumbled to her feet. She looked up ahead and saw Phantom and Wraith get to their feet and charge at each other. This was Jazz's chance. Jazz ran as fast as she could towards the center of the room and got directly between Phantom and Wraith.
"STOP!" Cried Jazz as she closed her eyes and held up her hands.
Both Phantom and Wraith halted in mid swing, with their lightsabers a few inches from Jazz's head. Jazz opened her eyes and was pleased that her crazy plan had worked, though was a little shocked to see how close to death she was. Phantom and Wraith quickly away from Jazz. Wraith had an angry and confused look on her face as she looked at Jazz.
"What the heck are you doing Jazz?! I could have killed you!" Said Wraith.
"I know that." Said Jazz being calm.
"Then get out of the way and let me deal with this Rebel scum before he cuts you down!" Said Wraith waving her arm to the side.
"No. Look I don't know what you're deal or history is with Phantom, but I believe him, when he says that his not our enemy and that the Rebels aren't working with the pirates." Said Jazz.
"You can't trust him." Said Wraith with a glare towards Phantom.
"If Phantom was really working with the pirates, he would have cut me down or had taken me hostage. Phantom has done neither of these things and I believe he and his allies are here to help us." Said Jazz looking at Wraith then turning to face Phantom.
Danny deactivated his lightsaber and bowed his head to Jazz.
"You are right. My comrades and I came to deal with the pirates. I do not wish to fight you Wraith. We're on the same side and we share a common enemy." Said Danny.
"You see, there's no need to fight." Said Jazz.
Wraith just scowled, but before she could say or do anything dozens of pirates suddenly burst into the lobby and faced the two groups.
"Looks like we found the intruders, lads." Said one pirate.
"Open fire!" Said another pirate.
The pirates began firing their blasters and Jazz let out a panicked scream. Danny quickly reactivated his lightsaber and stepped in front of Jazz deflecting several of the blasts back at the pirates and protected his sister. Wraith stood by Danny and used her lightsaber to deflect the blasts back at the pirates and protected Jazz. Jazz stood back and watched in stunned amazement as Phantom and Wraith deflected blasts back at the enemy with their green and red lightsabers. The deflected blasts took down several pirates and either injured them or killed them. Crash, Valerie, Tucker, Johnny, Kitty, and Shadow also joined in on the fray by firing their blasters at the pirates and took several of them down.
The few remaining pirates still standing saw that the battle wasn't going their way and quickly retreated to tell Youngblood and regroup with more of the crew. The lobby was silent for several seconds with everyone looking at each other. Danny and Wraith looked at each other intensely with their lightsabers in their hands. Jazz was afraid the two of them would start fighting agin. Several seconds later, Wraith lowered her lightsaber and deactivated it and Danny did the same.
"It appears you were telling the truth Phantom." Said Wraith.
"So does this mean I get an apology?" Asked Danny.
"I suppose I owe you that. I apologize for attacking you and for accusing of working with the pirates." Said Wraith.
"Apology accepted, so what's our next move?" Said Danny.
"As much as I hate to admit it, I might actually need you and the Rebels help. There are far more pirates here then I suspected and they are most likely heavily armed. I can't beat them all by myself, but with your help we have a chance." Said Wraith.
"So it's a truce then." Said Danny.
"A temporary truce between a us." Said Wraith.
"Will help, but I want your assurance you won't immediately turn on us after the pirates are dealt with." Said Danny.
"Very well. You have my word. You will be given a small amount of time to try to make an escape." Said Wraith.
"Deal." Said Danny.
The two of them shook hands.
