Chapter 278: The Invincible Narratives that Transcends The Cycle of Sin.

While the situation in the Palapium space colony was rapidly escalating, it was hardly the only place in the Prime Universe feeling tense. With the current state of the entire cosmos being what it was, even planets not under attack were at the point of hysteria, even taking good news with dread of being" fake" news. The capital of the remains of the Bethel Kingdom was no exception.

Ever since her husband's official funeral, Bria had mostly just focused on not being drunk enough in public to worry everyone. That's why the wife of Richard Auro was confused when Megaman X, Commander Burns, Diehard Man, Makima, Ringo and Figue, and a few others took her to the remains of what use to be the Enji Knights headquarters, the Radiant Gardens of Hollowed Baston.

Bria saw some of the last Warriors of Light looking around such as Kratos before she raised an eyebrow." Hey Ringo…I know I had a few drinks but I think I'm sober enough to remember the holiday speech I had planned was like…this weekend right?"

Ringo let out an uneasy giggle before she nodded." Don't worry my queen its not for that. We are going here for the…special briefing."

"Huh? But…why are we going all the way to the relics for something important?"

X paused before he took a deep breath." Because…some of the people being debriefed are more familiar with the old headquarters of the Enji Queen Bria.

And, at the moment it's easier to keep possible spies out of a less populated location. For the moment, it's very important that the public is not aware of this till…till things are ready."

Bria raised an eyebrow before she stood up." What, you mean like it's another "double agent"? Like hell am I going to be within breathing distance of another Viltrumite! I don't care if Thaedus still seems legit, any one of those mustache savages could be making an excuse to kill me!"

"Its not that Queen Auro, I assure you." Die-Hardman grimly retorted." We are here to meet one of the individuals who out of everyone in the universe, is devotion to keeping us safe is non debatable."

Bria saw all of the agents of her government looked deadly serious before she sighed and looked out the window to see her shuttle descend past the Crystal Fissure before she sighed." The way you're talking, it's one of the angels eh? Eh, maybe it looked differently back in the" Good old days" but I never got why the "Warriors of Light" called their base "Hollowed Bastion." I mean…even if they were keeping the lights on back then it does not look like the base of all light or whatever."

Makima giggled before she responded with," Its because at one point this is where people made contact with Cosmos my lady, so people thought it was the place in all of the universe that was nearest to heaven. I guess…it's sadly a moot point now but, still, the analogy resonated with many. After all an analogy is."

""I know what an analogy is! It's like a thought with another thought's hat on." Bria responded defensively. "No offense but I don't care what it meant back then I just want to know what it means now."

"It means hope is still alive for us to have a future that's not one of despair." X retorted." But…we have to be as careful as possible. At this stage, we want you to know what could happen so you're not caught off guard. Prepare to land Queen Bria."

The shuttle did land, and Bria saw that Abdiel and a few more angels and former Warriors of light were waiting for her before the angel bowed." My lady…I hope this day bids you well."

Bria sighed before she looked around." Well that depends on how much of a headache the next hour is going to give me. This is really so important we have to go all the way out here?"

A former Warrior of light, the blond-haired blue eyed half " Gear" machine Ky Kiske nodded." Yes…we could not let the chance of anyone seeing this so we have been taking every precaution. How does it look, Shadow?"

A gust of wind nearly blew Bria's hair before she saw the source of the gust came from a black-furred anthropomorphic hedgehog to her left.

He had red eyes, a patch of white fur on his chest, a black nose, a tan muzzle, and small, triangular ears with tan canals.

He also had six quills on his head, four of which curve upwards while the other two curve downwards, two spines on his back, and a short, pointy tail. He had red stripes on each of his head quills, around the edges of his eyes, and on his arms and legs.

For attire, he wore white gloves with black cuffs and red tongues, and Air Shoes which, like his gloves, had black cuffs and red tongues.

Shadow looked around at everyone and just gave a nod. No one is here that's not supposed to be here. You detect any hostile signatures, Omega?"

Above him a humanoid red, black and yellow robot with red eyes, no mouth, and the Omega symbol floated down besides him before looking around and nodding." E-123 Omega reporting in…no hostile code detected in mission area."

"Good work old friend…lets just hope this is not all a waste of time over a misunderstanding or something."

Bria paused before she cleared her throat." Can we get this started already?"

Ringo saw Shadow's fur rustle before she giggled." Oh well you see my grace they have to arrive here to."

Before she could protest Omega paused, before his eyes glowed red and he looked at the upper right." Eggman signature…detected? Error?"

X paused before he looked at where Omega was looking, and let out a sigh of relief. That's not an error Omega, that, that should be his ship!"

Die-Hardman checked his com link before he nodded." Vincent Valentine confirmed to see the code he said he would give. It is him. They will be landing right in front of the Hulle Granz Cathedral before we proceed to the Garden of Assemblage."

Bria blinked before she saw a light, and realized this was not a joke as the Thule Ultima, and Samus's Gunship behind it descended from the sky. The current Queen of the Bethel Kingdom saw the vessel of extra-dimensional boat made of "frozen music" land before she blinked." What…what the hell is that ship? I never seen that from anywhere."

Die-Hardman sighed before he shrugged." That's because it might not be from anywhere in this universe. But what matters is who's inside it."

Everyone was tense as the ship landed. No one was sure what to expect, till the gunship's hatch popped out first, and in a flash Sonic landed on the ground. He ran around in the blink of an eye and stopped right outside the castle doors before he took a deep breath." Whew…glad some places are still standing around here."

Shadow saw Sonic looking as carefree as ever before he widened his eyes." Sonic…is that…really you?"

Sonic's grin faded as he saw Shadow and Omega, and in the blink of an eye hugged Shadow before he had a chance to protest." Man, I never thought I'd be happy to see your grumpy mug man! But…glad that there are still friends left out here."

Sonic's long-time rival was too shocked to even protest before he saw Tails, Knuckles, and Amy step out before his eye twitched." What…is this? You, you were all lost centuries ago."

"Lost, but not dead Shadow. My genius would not allow us to be lost that easily!"

Everyone saw Doctor Robotnik float down in his Egg Mobile with the rest of the survivors before Shadow widened his eyes." Doctor…you…you did this? Wait…what…what happened? You all were lost when all of planet ZDR was consumed by the Scourge. You, you got out?"

Robotnik winced, but before he could answer a colder voice cut in with." His intelligence did ensure they all survived this long, though getting out required some…outside help that I had a part in."

Ezan casually stepped out of the cockpit of the Thuel Ultima ship, and as he landed Ky, and the other former Enji in the area like Kratos, Golbez, Zaveid, Kaim Argonar, and more had their jaws drop before X muttered," Ezan…you…you really are alive?"

Makima blinked in shock before she stepped back." The…man are Lord sees as his rival, still alive?"

Bria paused before she looked around." Hey, wait…I could have swore we went to a memorial for this guy."

"That…was correct." Ezan answered bluntly." But the truth is that I faked my own death to better catch Fitter off guard."

"Did…did that plan work?"

Ezan paused before he grasped his sword tightly." It allowed me to be here so…it worked well enough."

Abdiel paused before she took a deep sigh." Divine will rewards the faithful if only we have patience, just like I kept telling the others! I knew…I knew that the light of god would not forsake us if we kept to are duty even as despair crept up!"

Bria saw Ezan looking carefully around before she gulped." Wait…your Grandpa Auro's number one bodyguard right? You, you were with him in the mission to avenge Richard right? So…so that means…this hell's at last over? Oh, thank the light, I been so sick of it as it is."

Ezan paused before Sonic eyed Bria and raised an eyebrow." Who are you girl? You remind me a lot of Elise…only blond, and…more hung over."

Bria paused before she looked at the group from Mobius and cleared her throat." Wait…you're seriously the dudes from the statues…the ones that were the old man's pals in the Cosmic War? I'm Queen Bria Auro you should know, I'm the leader of the Bethel Kingdom so you might want to do a do over for that greeting."

As Sonic raised an eyebrow he rubbed his head." Bria? I thought Ben had two kids?"

"I'm Richard's wife Sonic, I'm the, last living Auro, at least the oldest. Though, if, if you guys are alive, then, then like I said, the nightmare is over?"

Ezan saw how relived Bria looked before he sighed." I regret to say your hope is mistaken Queen Bria…because to be blunt the nightmare is just getting started."

Bria saw how sharp Ezan looked before she turned pale." What…what do you mean? If you're here, then why is Lacus and the Last Emperor not here?"

Ezan glanced at X, Die-Hard Man and the others before he sighed." She really could not be trusted with knowing anything about the situation X?"

The greatest creation of Doctor Light saw the Queen glaring at him before he winced." We, had to make sure everything was under control so that panic would not spread. But, if things are about to escalate its better she knows what's about to happen."

Bria saw everyone looked grimmer before she stepped back." Wait…the devil killed Richard's parents and got away?"

"No…not from Doug…I'm afraid something far worst happened."

"That…that's impossible, they are the strongest people in the universe!"

"Queen Bria…I'm afraid we were all unaware of just how little we knew about things…but for the sake of keeping this kingdom together we have to know what, and who is soon going to come."

"So…Ben and Lacus were killed and, you want to get back on whoever killed them? But…it…its all over…we don't have anything left!"

"We do…we just have to maneuver things so that the mission can be completed…cause its are last chance for survival."

Vincent Valentine landed before he nodded." Indeed old friend. This place is…even less populated than it was when you were last here. After…after it seemed like you and the others were dead few even wanted to go on tour here. They…they thought the Enji and everything related to Cosmos was cursed."

Ezan sighed as he looked at a statue of his former leader, Grand Master Myers, and some of the other former Enji Masters, along with his former squad captain, and friend Squall Lionheart before he grasped his fist tightly." Then we must give it our all to prove that all of are comrades sacrifices were not in vain. At least…the ongoing mission still has a chance to be seen through, however slim they may be."

Bria saw the sliver haired man's look at the sky like he was looking at one of the stars before she flicked her hair out of her face." Wait…there's an operation going on already? Is…is it working?"

Die-Hardman paused before the masked man readjusted said mask." I already had Section Nine go to Parrapoeiam to try and retrieve the Yamato, and while its not complete yet, I got a report that the "Other" mission was underway successfully…so far."

Ezan took a sigh of relief as he nodded." Glad they can manage at least the basic tasks without supervision."

Bria grit her teeth as she walked up." What? Who is doing what? I'm the queen of all of you ,and the entire Bethel Kingdom! So stop acting like I'm just a prop!"

Ezan cleared his throat before his Rinne Sharingan looked right at her." Oh? Are you ready to act like a full queen and not just someone going along the ride for the perks?"

Bria saw the sliver haired man's unnatural eyes before she winced." Hey…just because your Grandpa Auro's war buddy it does not mean you can talk to me like that! Like it or not you're acting like they are gone, so I'm all that's left."

"If you can't even figure out if you're insulting me or praising me you're going to have a hard time finding the proper resolve."

"Hey, it's called a Complisult. Part compliment, part insult. I invented them…or reinvented them or made the term " trendy" again. See what I just did there? That was an explainabrag."

"Mix as many words together in your binge drinking all you like but you better understand fully what's going on so the odds of failure are not quite as high as they are now. Bria looked bitter before Makima flicked her hair back." Sir Ezan, we all are deeply grateful for all you have given for this universe, your devotion is without question. But just understand B, Queen Bria is not a warrior like you.

She placed a burden for herself purely out of love for her husband and now is doing everything she can to keep it together."

Ezan sighed before he nodded." I understand more than you know Makima. I know you did not ask for this…just realize the extent of those who depend on you reacted properly."

"Hey, if I had no self-awareness, I think I'd know. Let's just do this already."

"Very well." Ezan uttered bluntly as he looked around one last time. He paused as he glanced at the Hülle Granz Cathedral before Bria raised a eyebrow." Is that where the Grand Hall is?"

The former Enji restrained his annoyance at the Queen's lack of any knowledge about the former Enji HQ before he looked at his necklace, and the Holy Materia around it." No…the Hülle Granz Cathedral is where Enji would go to prey to Cosmos or their local deities if they preferred.

I thought nothing of it, but my, my late wife Aries was fond of it. She did not care too much about it as a place to prey to Cosmos or to her planet's deity Minerva, she just liked the flowers, and wanted to keep said flowers in good shape.

Even…even after the Enji were disgraced, she still tried to keep the flowers in good condition, even as the Death Stranding wrecked the universe. I'm ashamed to say…after everything that happened I forgot to keep that in mind."

One of the other former Enji, a lavender haired woman with long pigtails that reached down to her legs, clad in a gray suit with a pink over-vest that had magenta lining, who wore a black belt that connected to her white leg warmers, and on her arms were large dark blue gloves, fastened by red rings at the top, and was a humanoid weapon called Protos Heis a humanoid designed to destroy the villain Lambda on the world of Ephinea, Sophia, walked up before she bowed." We, we tried to keep the flowers alive Ezan. We, we did not want this place to die completely."

A pink haired half elf on a broom, the witch from the world of Aselia, Arche Klein nodded before she saluted Ezan." We may not have had" Flower lady's gift for flowers, but we do what we can to make sure this place does not rot away. With, a lot of are home worlds gone, this place, with the memories of are friends, is all we have left."

Zaveid chuckled bitterly as he looked up." Back in the days of tagging around the Shepard this here Wind seraph thought about joining the old pals like Dezel and get some rest. But... the Great Beyond is no longer " that way", guys. There...is no rest...even pure as they come heroes like Sorey just get never ending suffering in the next dimension if the wrong tribe took over that part of the after life.

Golbez nodded as he grasped his fist tightly." There are greater callings than justice...but most of us still have to atone from are past sins. Cecil...Kain...Fusoya and all the others could rest from a cruel god's edict, but if the moral realm and hell are one and the same...might as well do what we can...and keep fighting to the end."

The humanoid frog like Qu life form Quina Quen, chef, blue mage, and former friend of Ezan's teammate Zidane licked his lips." This castle…still have very yummy sand! This castle still delicious from the flavors of all are friends! It won't die out so easily!"

Ezan nodded before he patted Quina on the shoulder." Thanks for not giving up my friends. Even if it's the blackest night for the Enji, we still have to have faith that the road will go to the brightest dawn."

Bria saw all the former Enji looking encouraged before she sighed." I get that this kind of "the Force is With you stuff" Is all you guys thing but like…no offense but in the end all of this faith did nothing to stop everything from going to hell so I hope you have more then faith to promise us."

Ezan paused before he gave Bria a look that made her tense up again." I assure you it's more than blind hope. We can still survive, and overcome all that want to destroy us. But, we have to do everything right. Hopefully, the others can see this part through. If they can't get the" easy" part done…then the hard part will…have very slim odds indeed."

Ezan took one last look at where his wife use to work on in Hollowed Bastion before he sighed and prepared to see if his former rival's son's wife could be trusted to handle what was to come.

Meanwhile, things were not going as smoothly as Ben's rival hoped, but to see just how things spiraled out of control we turn back time a bit to see what happened right after Astra and the others split up from Mike and the others.

Despite wondering if the android clad in goth attire was suddenly going to explode on her, Astra saw that Nine was truthful in her claim and guided Astra, 2B, 9S, Elena, Serra, and the other inorganic members of Mike's makeshift crew past the large mesa part of the No-Ship, and guided them to a segment that went deep underground before Astra saw she could not see the bottom and cracked her neck." I'm just saying it now, if anything tries to put me asleep again I'm wrecking this place while sleepwalking."

"Don't worry, I'm looking for anything gas related." Nine retorted with a wink." This will lead us to the "Cradle."

Room CR4-DL, known colloquially as the CRADLE, is a colocation server farm located past the Mesa Hub.

The Cradle stores complete copies of the programming and memories for every host, as well as the programming for the park environments.

This information can be used as a fail-safe backup: should a host's control unit become damaged and unrecoverable, a new copy of the host's memories and programming can be downloaded from the Cradle, imprinted onto a new control unit, and inserted into the host's body, avoiding the loss of valuable IP.

Astra paused before she glanced at Dolores before she raised an eyebrow." Oh…one of you going to pretend to have a virus?"

"No…because they know my systems." Dolores replied bluntly." They need to be caught off guard, with a unit that's head they think is blown up."

Astra saw everyone looking at her before she grit her teeth." Ah hell why do I have to play possum?"

Sage shrugged before she looked around." By being the only organic member among us, you are the only one suitable to pose as the new "host".

The blond woman saw Nine have a stretcher come out before her insider in the" No-Ship" smirked." Don't worry, based on the assessment on how you fought earlier you definitely will be able to react before the machines can dissect you."

Astra saw the change of clothing giving for her before she cracked her neck." Oh that was nothing…if I even feel any thing breathing on me this whole place is turning into a giant pile of scrap!"

With some final preparations the group lead Astra on a stretcher to the Cradle. In front of the entrance was a man dressed in black colored cowboy attire on a horse. Around him were a dozen green humanoid shaped robots with a red mono eye and squid like mouths.

While the rest of the group had donned outfits matching the servants of the ship, they still tensed up as the man in the cowboy hat tipped said hat before leaning down." What we have here? Next round of maintenance is not supposed to be till sundown."

Nine did a curtsy before nodding." Apologies Sir William. Its just the young Master's new host got damaged in the "playing" he's conducting and since it was just newly acquired from the auction below he would not want it wrecked so…quickly."

The one named William tipped his hat and sighed." One of those ones eh? Well, he does go through that type quickly. Find, these "Vintage" Zaku battle droids needed to be fixed up anyway so bring her in to."

"Roger roger." The left most Zaku droid replied before they opened the door. As they went into the repair room William glanced at Astra and snickered." What type was this doll suppose to be anyway?"

The others looked at each other before 2B shrugged." She's more of…the rough type."

William chuckled before he looked at the sole human's body closely." That sounds about right. "Civil" dolls are just lambs to the slaughter anyway. Civilization is just the lie we tell ourselves to justify our real purpose.

We're not here to transcend. We're here to destroy. I use to think this place was all about the pandering to your basic instincts. But nah…now I understand. Just as he got in front of Astra's face she punched him in the jaw before he even knew what was coming. Astra threw off the sheet off her head, saw she punched William through the ceiling and spat on his fallen hat." Yah you're clear to have access to jack squat asshole."

The Zaku droids all pointed their arm cannons at the group as the center on muttered," Your circuits are loose, you're acting like you gone Maverick."

Nine did another curtsy before she shrugged." Well we feel like we are acting entirely rational."

"Uh, wait, uh, that doesn't compute, uh, wait, uh… you're under arrest! Hold your positions! Hold your positiooooonnssss… and neutralize them."

"Rodger R, AH!"

In a flash Astra had shadow blades slash the battle droids apart before they could even open fire. As a Zaku head bounced near her she snickered." Heh…these grunts are as fun to trash as they said. Alright, long as this is the best security she left for us should be able to finish this easily."

"We will see." Elena replied as she looked around." It all depends on how the hacking goes. And to find that out, we should begin at once."

The hackers of the group looked around before 9S looked at the right computer and smirked." This should work. Alright, watch are backs. Starting net diving."

Astra saw 9S, Elena, Sage Serra and Nine all lay down on the tables as wires connected to terminals. Astra saw 2B had a progress screen on her Pod aid form, and just saw a white triangle going through a neon maze shooting black squares and red spheres as random numbers flashed across the screen and saw Breach Time and Code Matrix flash by before she rolled her eyes." So…we sure if I hit something this won't go faster?"

"Please don't." 2B bluntly retorted." If anything it will either make the process go slower or just blow up everything." After Astra moaned Kaine chuckled." Just hold that bloodlust in a little while longer ok ace? We got the malware installed in their system to mask are programs…should be able to go off without a hitch."

"And that's going to be enough to shut this all down?"

Before anyone could answer everyone heard an explosion from above. 2B quickly pressed a button before a monitor showed that the Gundam brawl above was still raging above, and was only getting more chaotic as Ex Treme kept having more Gundam's, or "Gunpla" replica units join his game.

She saw the SSMS-010 ZZ Gundam fire its High Mega Cannon on its head at Suletta and the Aerial Gundam, as the newly summoned LRX-077 Sisquiede Gundam entered its" Offensive mode" and fired its I-Field Launcher Cannon at her from the right, while the ZGMF-X12D/θ Destiny Gundam Astray Out Frame D came at her with its MMI-710 "Excalibur" Anti-ship Laser Sword from above, and Ex Treme himself had the Extreme Gundam Mk-II AXE generating six seraphic wings and had the faceplate on the mobile suit slide open before he fired his," Extreme Cannon" at her.

But as four attacks came at her at once Suletta screamed in horror, and her Gundam's funnels glowed before forming a barrier that was able to repel everything. Ex Treme saw his target did not look phased at all, before he snickered." Mom was not kidding about you being a worthwhile playmate tomato head, but no matter how supped up that barrier is, you can break anything if you shoot it enough! Check the damage on THIS!"

The Extreme Gundam Mk-II then showed it was capable of moving at speeds fast enough to leave behind afterimages, and that those after images transformed into hard-light copies of other Gundams to attack in its stead such as Strike Freedom firing shots from its combined beam rifles or the " Burning" God Gundam attacking with Burning Slash, or the Double X Gundam firing its Twin Satellite Cannon before Ex Treme saw his target's shield flicker more and more before he widened his eyes." Now "Metal Man" do your trick and cut her down for good!"

The 00 Qan was casually cutting down the Superior Knight Gundam before the sliver mobile suit flickered." E…eliminating the target. Trans-am!"

The Gundam glowed red, before GN Particles surged around it and the mobile suit glowed red, before it was nothing but a particle shadow.

Suletta only saw a few green GN particles float by her shield, before she realized to late that Setsuna had his machine use its short-range spatial quantization teleportation, to warp right past the crack in her barrier and appear in front of her. She parried her teleporting opponent's blade, and winced as the 00 Qun cut half of her Gundam's face before Setsuna muttered," You…I…I can feel your resolve. You, you're not a true Gundam!"

"That…that's not true!" Suletta stammered out." Aerial…is more of a Gundam then your squishy Gundam! I'll show you, which one is stronger! I'll, huh? AHH!"

She tried to stab Setsuna, only for a large purple beam cloth to burst forth and bind the Gundam's beam sword, and suddenly hurl her to the ground. As she landed with a thud an older gruff male voice cut in with," Bah…a reliance of weaponry just proves your weakness as a fighter! I have nothing but pity to those who lose to your mobile suit girl!"

She saw her attacker was a black nearly vampire like winged Gundam, GF13-001NHII Master Gundam, piloted by a replica host of the" Undefeated of the East" Master Asia.

The Master Gundam replica got into a fighting stance before declaring," No matter how strong the weapon is, in the hands of a fool its worthless!"

"No..I…I'm not worthless, I, huh?"

She was about to get up her gundam's thrusters were bound by a segmented, whip-like heat rod. She saw it came from a Gundam like the Master Gundam, though a mix of red and black with a large energy sword in one hand, and a energy whip in the other.

Its pilot, former Zeon/ Oz official that was betrayed by Weill Zabi, the blond Treize Khushrenada appeared on Suletta's monitor before Treize smirked." You do seem like quite the pure person. With any luck the second part of the current Dune film will do well enough to get to another one…depending on how kill happy Discovery/ Warner is at that time of the year, oy.

Nevanlinna and Cyclaminos's fusion was inspired by how in Super Robot Wars T's DLC Nevanlinna returns along with the final boss of Super Robot Wars X, Ende the Devourer, and they fused for the final fight. This fusion felt more fitting then that so, hope it made sense.

Lastly...Sacrosanct and the Universal Church of Truth is from the Marvel universe, primarly a force that the Guarding's of the Galaxcy deal with, like in there recent game from Square. Normally that has nothing to do with the cast of Gun X Sword but, I'm making some links to spice things up and just hope it pays off.
