A new crossover I'm only going to be working on at the moment since I've been feeling overwhelmed trying to finish my other ones. But Brooklyn goes on a new adventure!
Among the clan of the mighty gargoyles, there was one that stood out from the rest both physically and mentally. His name was Brooklyn, second in command to Goliath.
Brooklyn wasn't as stocky as his leader or big brother, nor was he tech savvy like his littlest brother Lexington. Instead, with Brooklyn came being an expert strategist and quick thinker.
But he wasn't perfect either, often going head to head with the clan's enemy Demona or doing something reckless, often disappointing Goliath. Brooklyn once in a while wished he was in a world where humans could treat him like a normal person and not have to worry about disappointing others.
He was musing around in the library one day, feeling rather bored until on one of the shelves, Brooklyn spotted a rather interesting looking book.
The red gargoyle pulled it off the shelf, seeing the strange looking writing that wasn't in English, flipping open the pages and seeing a couple interesting dragon designs.
Thinking this was something worth showing to their ally, Xanatos, Brooklyn tucked the book under his arm, being careful not to ruin it, going to see Xanatos who was busy in his office.
Xanatos looked up at Brooklyn's arrival in interest. "And what brings you here Brooklyn?"
Brooklyn pulls out the book. "It is this. I'm not sure where you found it, but there's quite a few dragon drawings. Look." He opened it up to a wyvern looking dragon with two long horns and big wings.
The billionaire raised his brow then recognized it. "Ah, the Book of Dragons. I came across this one during my days in Scotland in an old village, and knew this had to be in my book collection. The dragons listed in there are now extinct but quite fascinating."
Brooklyn flipped through more pages, soon seeing a blank one with more weird writing. "I wish I can understand it since I don't know Scottish so well." He said in disappointment, squinting.
Xanatos smiled. "If you like, I can let you take the book for a while and try figuring it out." He offered, gesturing with his hand. Brooklyn stared in surprise, smiling.
"Whoa, thanks." Brook thanked David, holding the book close again, waving him goodbye then going to his room since a lot of the clan was out on patrol and he had volunteered to guard the castle.
Sitting on his bed, Brooklyn flipped more in the pages, mostly looking in the pictures at each different dragon. The designs were rather cool, especially one with a spiked crown around its head, shooting what looked like either fire or lightning.
Brooklyn put a taloned hand over the dragon picture. "I wish these guys were real. That would be really cool." He said dreamily, wondering what this dragon would look like in real life.
That was when he felt the page grow a little warm, pulling his hand back in surprise. And to his amazement; saw the picture of the spiked crown dragon move its head, growling at him, eyes glowing yellow that kept getting brighter.
Brooklyn flinched, shielding his eyes but next something happened he wouldn't expect, his body feeling like it was being pulled right into the book itself. He tried closing the book but it was no good, giving a shout of fear, his body being sucked in further until in another flash of light, the book closed automatically, laying there on the floor innocently.
David heard the sounds from Brooklyn's room, having come running. He opened the door and was stunned that he wasn't there except for the book. "Brooklyn?" He called, picking up the dragon book, hoping whatever happened to him, he was going to be alright.
Writing short chapters when I think they're long enough, my biggest weakness but I hope the others get longer.
