Hey, guys!

So, I'm super excited to bring y'all this one! It was actually one of the first Smallville ideas I came up with, but I've just now gotten around to writing it.

There are some major au things though. The main one being that meteor shower happened when Lex was much, much older. This is also a "Lionel finds Clark" au.

Anyways, with that out of the way, here's the first chapter!

Chapter One.

Lex Luthor's eyes burned.

All day he had been looking at files and files of his father's assets and work. Every time he thought he was done, another one would pop up. It was beginning to give him a headache.

He rubbed his temple, then sighed. It hadn't been long since his father died, but the sooner Lex sorted through everything he had inherited, the better. Although, it would help if his father had been a bit more open about all of the hidden projects he had been working on.

Lex opened another folder, then began to read. At first, it seemed like just another one of his father's random experiments. After a moment though, Lex realized that it was far more than that.

Day 2: Subject is invulnerable. Still unable to communicate and shows no interest in food or water.

Subject? Invulnerable? What was going on here? Lex skipped ahead a bit.

Day 43: Subject cries when we approach. Now begs for food and water during the day. No known weakness.

A pit feeling began to settle in Lex's stomach. What the hell had his father been doing? Surely whatever this was wasn't legal. Not that his father followed the law often…

He couldn't stop himself, and flipped towards the end of the folder.

Day 700: Meteor rock! The weakness was under our noses the whole time! Subject's veins turn green when touched, he loses his balance, can't breathe properly, and is in immense pain.

Lex swallowed hard, then flipped to the last page. Was the poor thing even still alive if it was being tortured with meteor rocks?

Day 734: Subject stopped eating after last night's experiment. Perhaps meteor rock exposure was too high. Will try the experiment again after subject eats.

Lex stood up and grabbed his father's access cards. Whether it be a dog, rat, or human, he wasn't going to allow the poor thing to spend another day in that laboratory. He didn't care what kinds of things could be learned from whatever sick project this was. The project was being shut down. Immediately.

The drive to the laboratory didn't take as long as Lex had been expecting, but maybe that was because he was pretty sure that he had been speeding the whole way there.

He shook the thought from his head and fixed his crisp black suit. He had to prepare himself for whatever was ahead, which wouldn't happen if he was thinking about driving 75 on a 55.

It took him a few minutes to find the right access card, but as soon as he did, he found himself almost racing inside.

"Mr. Luthor," a man in a white lab coat greeted, and Lex had to stop himself from punching this man on the spot. "What brings you here?"

"I'm visiting all of my father's labs," Lex lied. "Show me what you do here."

The man faltered for only a second, then cleared his throat. "I'm afraid you don't have the clearance."

"In case you haven't noticed, my father is dead." Lex said. "I read the reports. You're experimenting on a living creature, which I'm sure isn't legal."

"Fine." The man said. "Follow me."

Lex followed him down a couple of dark hallways, the whole time, Lex tried to prepare himself for what he would see. What level of experimentation had been done?

Lex watched as the man pulled out an access card and opened the door, then walked in.

Surprisingly, the room was clean and very sterile. It looked like a room straight out of a hospital. Not a room where torture had taken place.

"Where is it?" Lex asked. After giving the room a quick once-over, it wasn't hard to conclude that nothing was in there.

"Dammit…" The man swore as he started to look around the room. "I told your father that we should have gotten some restraints for it, but he never listened."

Restraints? Lex swallowed hard. He knew that he would never know everything about his father and now he was thinking that might have been a good thing.

"Ah!" The man exclaimed, then swung one of the cabinets open. "Found you!"

Lex watched in horror as his nightmares were confirmed. In one rough, jerky movement, the man yanked a thin child out of the cabinet.

Lex felt his stomach lurch from the sight that was before him and reality that was settling in around him. His father had been experimenting on a child. A very young looking child.

The child put his hands up in defense, but Lex could tell that it probably hadn't helped him much in the past with some of the marks his body was sporting.

"Let him go," Lex warned, though the shock from the situation made his voice wobble ever so slightly.

The man let go of the child, and stepped back. "Be careful. The thing is powerful without the meteor rock around."

Lex watched as the child continued to look at the ground. "Does he have a name?" He asked.

"Nah," the man said, much to Lex's disgust. "Damn thing isn't even from Earth. Came down in the meteor shower that hit a couple years back."

Lex looked over at the man in shock, then back to the child. The dates lined up, but the last thing Lex wanted to do was have another reason to talk to the sorry excuse of a human that his father had hired.

Lex took a step towards the alien child, and watched as the poor boy winced. He was so young. So small. How could his father have done this?

"I'm shutting the project down," Lex said as he turned away from the child. "Effective immediately."

"But, Mr. Luthor," the man began.

Lex cut him off with a glare. "Go." He warned, this time, his voice was firm and dangerous. "Before I call the authorities."

As the man scurried away, Lex took another step closer to the alien boy before him. "Hey," he greeted. "There's no need to be scared."

The hesitated for a second, then looked up at Lex with the biggest, most innocent eyes that he had ever seen. Despite all of the shock, Lex could hardly hold back a smile.

"It's all over now," Lex assured him. "You're coming home with me."

So, there's chapter one! What did y'all think? Please follow, fave, and review! I would love to know what y'all thought!

Also, for anyone who was wondering about the title, it's a spoof of "Parenting 101" and "Level 33.1" where Lex studied metahumans and that sort of thing. Thanks for coming up with the title, ali!

Thanks for reading! Love y'all!
