"I'm off to the park," Marinette called to her parents. Autumn had finally arrived, and Marinette was taking this opportunity to sketch some fall leaves with her new colored pencils.
The park was busy as people played Frisbee, relaxed on the grass, or bought ice cream from Andre. Marinette headed to a quiet corner of the park, sitting down on a quiet bench, and took out her sketchpad.
The leaves shone brightly in the sun, rustling slightly, and Marinette lost herself in her work. She was turning to a fresh page, when a loud thump was heard, startling her and her sketchpad flew out of her hands.
"Ouch! What happened?" Cat stood, rubbing his sore rump, then noticed Marinette and her sketchpad, hurrying towards him. "Cat Noir! Are you okay?" Cat smiled, bending to retrieve the notebook and handed it back. "Other then a sore bottom, I'm fine, Princess."
"What were you doing in that tree, anyway?" she asked innocently, knowing her lovable partner could be filled with mischief. "I was napping in the sun," he winked.
"Well, I should get back to sketching now," Marinette started to turn away. "Wait!" Cat caught her arm. "Could we hang out? I could model for you." Marinette's heart leaped at the chance to spend time with her partner without the mask.
"Sure. How about we move to that rock over there?"
Sitting on the rock, Cat was nestled into a fall background, and Marinette scribbled furiously. Cat was a good subject, and stayed still. That was until a squirrel started chattering at them.
Cat growled, tail wiggling. Uh-oh. Marinette knew what that meant, but before she could stop him, Cat bounded off the rock and towards the tree. "Cat, no!"
"Listen here, you floofy squirrel! Marinette needs me to sit on the rock, and your chattering isn't helping. Now, gather your acorns somewhere else!"
For a second, it looked like the squirrel would give up, but begin hurling acorns at the irritated feline.
"Retreat!" Marinette dodged the pelting acorns, grabbing Cat's hand and running back to the path.
"Sorry, Princess, I guess he had the upper paw today!"
Marinette burst into giggles and Cat joined her. "Thanks, Kitty. I can use these sketches and I can tell people we got bested by a squirrel!"
"Always happy to help, My Princess," Cat gave a little bow. "I enjoyed our meet cute." "Meet cute," Cat repeated. "I like that." and with that, he took off into the trees.
"See you soon, Kitty," Marinette whispered into the darkening twilight, hoping to have more autumn adventures with Cat Noir real soon.
