Chapter 1
-Bakugo-
Hands stuffed in his pockets, Katsuki strode into the shithole that was Aldera Middle School, eyes flitting about as he looked for his nerd. Midoriya was a pain in the damned ass on his best days so whenever the Nerd was out of his sight, he could feel ulcers forming. Especially in this quirkist pit.
Spotting a familiar shade of Green out of the corner of his eye, Katsuki stilled. Izuku sitting outside the Principal's office was never a good sign. That it was happening before even the first fucking class of the day didn't remotely help matters.
"Nerd!" he stomped over as his best, and admittedly only, friend jolted "The hell's going on here? The teachers trying to blame you for some bullshit again?"
"N-no Kachan." Midoriya shook his head rapidly, still shifting nervously "I…I'm being pulled out of Aldera."
"Fucking WHAT?!" Bakugo's eyes widened in shock. On the one hand he was glad that Midoriya wouldn't have to put up with this place anymore. On the other he still would, and he wouldn't have the one other person with a functioning brain around to keep him sane, "Why?!"
"My quirk came in yesterday." Midoriya admitted as Bakugo had to process that statement for a moment before he gave a wild grin.
"About time ya damn Nerd!" he slapped his friend on the back, a surge of relief going through him. They'd both dreamed about being heroes since they were little, the problem lay in what sort of Hero Midoriya wanted to be. Izuku didn't want to be a support, or investigative Hero, something the Nerd's analytical brain would let him excel at even without a quirk. No, Katsuki's best friend wanted to be in the Vanguard, right on the 'front lines' of dealing with villains. Without a suitable quirk that was suicide given the quirks, trigger users, and illegal support gear that villains would have. The fact that Izuku's fitness would be considered at best 'average' did not remotely help matters.
But with a quirk? That changed things. Telekinesis and Fire breath, no matter how 'weak' they might be, were at least a useful tool regardless. Especially when paired with the mad science brain that Izuku had for quirks.
"Alright Nerd, we've got time till the bell, so tell me everything." Katsuki threw an arm around his friend's shoulder, still wondering why his quirk coming in would pull the verdette Nerd from school.
"Well…it all started last night." Izuku started retelling the story.
-Izuku-
"Mom, I'm home!" Izuku called out as he entered their apartment. Another day, another slew of not-so-subtle comments from his teachers and classmates about how his quirklessness made him a drain on society. They could at least have some originality with their comments. It had been over three months since they'd created any sort of new insult to use, and the old ones were getting rather boring.
"I'm in the kitchen Izuku!" His mom's cheerful voice called out, "And we have a guest!"
"A guest?" he tilted his head before his eyes widened in realization.
"Hey there squirt." A familiar voice called out as he hurried into the kitchen, seeing his Aunt Rose leaning against the wall "Miss me?"
"Aunt Rose!" Izuku grinned, hugging the verdette woman tight as she chuckled, ruffling his hair. Stepping back, he noted she was still in her Hero Uniform, "What brings you here?"
"I was in the area doing a favor for UA." Rose chuckled, "Recovery Girl was out for a bit, so I handled their infirmary for the day. Thought I'd come spend some time with you two rather than take a midnight train back home."
"Izuku, could you come help me over here?" his mother called out, distracting him from the conversation with his Aunt "I need you to start chopping the vegetables for me."
"On it, Mom." Izuku grinned as he moved to help his Mom make dinner for the three of them. Aunt Rose probably would have helped too…if she didn't have the miraculous ability to burn water. There was a reason Alec did all the cooking whenever he visited his Aunt at her Agency.
Lost in thoughts about his Aunt's various sidekicks, Izuku wasn't paying enough attention to the knife in his hands. Feeling the sharp blade cut into his hand quickly changed that.
"AH!" Izuku recoiled, blood covering the cutting board as the knife moved through his skin without resistance.
"Izuku!" his Mom panicked, hurrying over even as a familiar green light enveloped his hand, the wound stitching itself closed as the pain rapidly vanished.
"Thanks Aunt Rose." Izuku let out a sigh of relief as the pain vanished.
"That…wasn't me." His Aunt's voice had Izuku pause, looking down at his hands as he finally noticed that the Emerald light was coming from them.
"I…I have a quirk." Izuku was stunned until the reality of the situation hit him. He had his Aunt's Quirk. Slowly, he turned his head toward the woman who'd been around his whole life as he saw the wild grin that made other pro heroes piss themselves.
"Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagh!"
-Bakugo-
"And that's what happened." Izuku had a thousand-yard stare "She made it clear she'd be training me personally to get into UA and I'd be homeschooled over at her Agency to make things go faster."
"So…why are you waiting out here?" Katsuki glanced at the closed door to the principal's office, able to faintly sense some bloodlust coming from the other side which could only mean the Nerd's friggin terrifying gorilla of an Aunt was in there.
"Aunt Rose and my Mom came to handle any paperwork about withdrawing me." Izuku looked slightly queasy "The principal apparently didn't recognize Aunt Rose and is too stuck in his habits because he made one of his usual remarks about my quirklessness in front of them both before they could explain the situation."
"…Whelp, he's dead. No big loss, guy was a bastich." Katsuki shrugged "You'd better train hard, ya hear me Nerd? Your ass is expected to get into UA now." Although with Rose training the Nerd he had a feeling UA's entrance exam would feel like a relaxing picnic.
"Do you really think I'm going to risk failing and end up having to deal with whatever Aunt Rose considers 'Remedial training'?" Izuku deadpanned as Katsuki laughed.
"Better you than me. I'm going to head to class." He nodded, quickly leaving before Izuku's mom and Aunt could finish in the Principal's office because he would not be remotely surprised if the woman sensed that he called her a Gorilla in his head and he was not going to be dealing with those consequences thank you very much!
"Coward." Izuku called out with a deadpan.
"She scares All Might, it is WARRANTED!" Katsuki called back with exactly zero shame.
-Izuku-
"Alright, here we are." Aunt Rose declared as they entered her Agency, a log cabin in the woods outside of Fukui where Aunt Rose and her sidekicks could do their training, "I assume it hasn't been so long that you don't remember where everything is."
"Boss, you're back!" from the Kitchen, Izuku saw one of his Aunt's sidekicks, Alec, pop his head out "And you brought the little guy! Oi! Assholes! Boss brought Little Green with her!"
"Aaaaand here comes the stampede." Aunt Rose sighed as the five sidekicks of the 'Black Guard' hurried over.
"Hey there squirt!" Tong grinned, the ex-Yakuza pulling Izuku into a headlock to give him a noogie, tattoos as bold as ever "What brings you here? Did ya miss Alec's cooking that much?"
"Everyone, starting tomorrow Izuku will be training with us." Aunt Rose's comment had the five going still, "Yesterday, his quirk came in and it looks like it's just like mine." He could hear the savage grin in his Aunt's voice as the five sidekicks started giving him pitying looks, "Be sure to rest up Izuku, training starts bright and early." Izuku could hear his Aunt walk off while his head remained stuck in Tong's stunned headlock, the five thug looking sidekicks having to reboot.
"…Good luck kid, you're gonna need it."
AN: I don't have any pairings decided yet so give me your suggestions in the reviews (current top thoughts though are Tokage or Jiro). Next chapter starts Izuku's 'training from hell' and if I decide on a pairing, or at least candidates, I'll try to have them show up to get the ball rolling there too.
