Chapter 51- Callie
I let out a loud groan, as Teddy and Sofia laugh at me "you're funny" Sofias giggle is infectious
"I'm old" I mutter, trying not to laugh, Teddy is helping me onto the side by side, she was driving us home in.
"oh come on Cal, you and I are about the same age in fact I'm older" she laughs
"maybe, but you are used to riding them things, me, I shovel dog shit" I hear Sofia giggle again and roll my eyes "don't worry I'm sure Zo will give you a massage later" Teddy says as we start to move, of course she had to hit every pot hole and bump that she found. I let out another groan, as Sofia giggles again. "hanging out with old people is fun"
"we aren't that old" Teddy says
"maybe, but it's still fun, thank you" the way she said thank you, made my heart hurt, like she hadn't had anyone do anything for her in a long time.
"if you stay with us" I start to say and groan as Teddy hits a big hole
"sorry, thought I cleared that" I turn to glare at her, and see her laughing.
"I'd like to" Sofia says, I turn, even though it hurt, to look at her "you'd like to what?"
"stay with you guys" she says, I look at Teddy who nods, and I know she'll do whatever she can to make sure Sofia can stay with us. "we'll do our best" I say as Teddy makes a sharp turn down our driveway, a car is coming down, so she has to ride in the ditch, hitting every rock in there, or it felt like it. I groan, and everyone else laughs. "I'm so glad my pain is your entertainment"
"wait until grumpy Alex sees you"
"oh god" I groan, we are finally at the house and I carefully climb off "thanks for the ride"
"no problem, I had fun today" Teddy smiles
"I didn't" I mutter "I never want to see another horse for" I'm cut off by the screen door slamming, turning I see Alex, he can tell I'm hurting "horse back riding a little too rough for you?"
"shut up and help me" I hear him laugh as Sofia is next to me grabbing my arm.
"looks like the kid has it" he says
"I fucking hate you" I mutter through clinched teeth
"a nice warm bath and a massage will help" Teddy says "see you all later" she says as she peels out, leaving a trail of dust behind her. Coughing from the dust, Sofia helps me up the stairs and into the kitchen, while Alex trails behind us. Arizona is standing at the sink, she turns when we come in. "oh baby what happened?" she asks I can tell she's trying not to laugh, but can't quite hold it in.
"I'm never getting on a horse again" I say and sit down in a chair.
"has it been awhile?" she asks walking up behind me putting her hands on my shoulders and rubbing the muscles. "oh god" I let out a moan.
"a nice soak in the hot tub will do you good" she says
"we have a hot tub?" I ask
"yup" she says as she hits a knot in my back, as she starts kneading, I completely forgot to be pissed about not knowing about the hot tub. "come on" she says reaching for my hand and takes me out the back door. "its old, we don't use it much" she says as she takes around the house to a screened in area of the porch that I have never noticed before. "why don't I know about this?"
"I don't know" she says flipping on the lights "guess we forgot to show or tell you about it" she flips open the cover and reaches for a switch. "it's also loud as hell" she says, as I cover my ears. The bubbles start and I'm in awe "give it a few minutes and it'll be quieter" she says with a smile "get in"
"I don't have my suit"
"Calliope" she laughs "you don't need a suit"
"I'm sure as hell not going in there naked with all these people here"
"tsk" she says and pulls her shirt over her head, then her shorts, tossing them both on a chair. I noticed there were towels folded in a shelf. "you went in your bra and underwear swimming, you can go in your bra and underwear in the hot tub, it covers the same as a suit" she's right, on both accounts. I quickly, or as quickly as I could took off my shirt and pants, and she helped me in. The water felt amazing, she moves me to a spot where the jets hit my back at the spot she was just rubbing "yes" I moan, she laughs.
"you guys better not be doing anything naughty" Sofia says as she pokes her head in the door.
"we're not"
"good, grumpy Alex said to say that" she comes in "wow this room is nice"
"we need to show her the rest of the house" I turn towards Arizona
"don't worry Auntie Aria already did" Sofia smiled
"Auntie Aria?" I ask, looking at Arizona then to Sofia
"that's what she said to call her" Sofia shrugs "can I come in too?"
"sure" Arizona says, Sofia doesn't bother taking any clothes off, she just climbs right in. "oh this is nice"
"when was the last time you had a shower, or bath?" I ask
"um" she thinks "I really don't remember" she shrugs
"how about clothes, do you have any?"
"a few shirts, and a couple pairs of underwear, I had more but had to use an extra set as a pad" she shrugs.
"we'll take you shopping tomorrow" I smile, Arizona nods her agreement. As Sofia smiles "I want to thank you guys, I don't think I did that yet, you are the first nice people I've met since" she pauses "since my mom died"
"how long ago was that?" Arizona asks
"um" she thinks "I think it was last year, when she was alive she tried to give me nice things, but then she met" she shivers and shakes her head "after she died I didn't have anywhere to go, Aunt Sadie said I could stay with her, but she was more into doing boys and drugs then taking care of me" I look at Arizona who is shaking her head "well Sofia, you can stay here as long as you want" Sofia smiles, she reminded me of someone, but I couldn't put my finger on it.
"how you feeling?" Arizona asks
"honestly" I move "much better" I reach my hand above the water and find my fingers are looking like a prune already. "I'm ready to get out"
"ok" Arizona says and moves to get out, I watch as she grabs a towel and wraps it around herself, then grabs another for me "come on" she reaches a towel out for me, and when I climb out she wraps it around me. Kissing my cheek she turns and grabs a towel for Sofia, doing the same with her. "is this what a mom is supposed to do?" Sofia asks
"mine did" Arizona said
"how about you Callie?" Sofia asks looking at me, I give her a sad smile and shake my head "no, my mom was too busy working, we had a nanny who raised us"
"I'm sorry" her voice was sad, as she wraps her arms around me "but you have your mom now"
"I do" I smile "and I'm thankful for that" Sofia squeezes me and then lets go. Arizona shuts everything off, grabbing our clothes, we walk into the house I hear Aria on the phone. "yes, sir, I understand" she let out a sigh "thank you" as I walk in I look at her and as she sets her phone down on the table. "how do you feel about me staying?"
"staying?" I ask
"yeah" she says, meeting her eyes I couldn't read her emotions "well" I shrug "you've already been here for over a month, so"
"that was my boss, I no longer have a job, which means I have nothing left to go back to so"
"I'm sure Alex would love it if you stayed" I say
"we can all be one happy family" Sofia says sitting down at the table, still wrapped in the towel.
"Sofia why don't you get changed out of those wet clothes" Arizona says
"I would but I don't know where to go" she says looking around
"oh" I laugh, and look at Arizona, she shakes her head "I thought you said Auntie Aria" I pause to glare at my sister "showed you around"
"she did but just the upstairs" Sofia smiles, I let out a sigh, and roll my eyes at my sister who is sitting there with a smug grin on her face "the bathroom is right here" Arizona says pointing to the bathroom door "go ahead and take a shower while your in there, when you're done we'll toss your clothes in the wash"
"ok" Sofia says and leaves the room
"she's a good kid" Aria says "I was looking into the laws for Minnesota and if no one claims her you guys should be able to get custody pretty easy"
"do we want custody?" Arizona asks looking at me
"I wouldn't mind" I say "I know we haven't had the kids talk yet, but" I stop talking and watch as Arizona sits down at the table, letting out a sigh "Callie, I personally, do not want kids"
"oh" I feel myself deflate a little, I don't know why, biting my lip I hear Arizona go on "let me rephrase that" she says, and takes a deep breath "I don't want kids coming out of me, but if you were to"
"aren't you both a bit old for that?" Aria pipes in "I mean women in their 40's, I mean, we're old" she laughs.
"she's right, but there is nothing that says we can't adopt" I say, perfectly content with that idea
"you can start with the teenager in the bathroom" Aria smiles "by the way, which last name are you guys taking?" Arizona and I both look at each other, that was something we have yet to talk about. "I don't know" Arizona laughs.
"if I ever get married again I'm changing my last name" Aria says, it was at that point Alex walks in, screen door slamming behind him, like always. Arizona and I laugh, but quickly stop "I like my last name" Arizona says quietly
"then we'll use yours" I smile stand and give her a kiss, as I leave the room, feeling 100 times better than I did an hour ago. That and Arizona and I made a decision, something I have been meaning to talk to her about, and even better Aria is staying, I smile to myself as I climb the stairs, I needed some clothes. I no more than got the door shut in the bedroom when Arizona comes in behind me. "so, you want to adopt her?"
"the thought crossed my mind"
"ok"
"I mean she's all alone"
"what if we make this decision, and then Teddy finds someone?"
"then she has them and us" I say I wasn't going to get all butthurt about it. "but until then I'd like it if she stayed here with us"
"I'm fine with that" Arizona says pulling on her shirt.
"alright" I smile and turn around to face her, I was completely naked. I watch as her eyes scan my body "you have got to be the sexiest person I know"
"I better be" I say stepping closer, reaching out and pulling her into me. When our lips meet, I feel the butterflies flutter around in my stomach. I don't understand how after all this time I still feel this way. Arizona swipes her tongue over my bottom lip, when our tongues meet my heart rate sped up, and I'm completely turned on. She pushes me back, I can feel the back of my knees hit the bed, and the next thing I know I'm laying down and Arizona is hovering over me. She kisses her way down my body, sticking her tongue in my bellybutton, I giggle. She kisses her way down my left leg then back up my right. I feel like I'm about to explode, when I feel her hot breath on my clit, and then cool air as she blows on it. "oh god" I moan, as I feel her tongue, I let out a deep moan as Arizona takes my clit into her mouth sucking on it. She then enters me, I'm not sure how many fingers she has in me, but when she curls them, at that spot, I know it won't be long. And I was right, she did something, I'm not sure what, with her mouth, and I explode around her fingers. Calling out her name so loud I'm sure they could hear it downstairs. When I open my eyes, Arizona is laying next to me with a childlike grin on her face. "you good?" she asks
"hmm" I hum my response, I couldn't get anymore than that out.
"good" she smiles and moves pulling me on top of her, my head on her chest. I have come to love to do this after we make love. "so" she says running her fingers through my hair "tomorrow is a big day"
"huh?" I ask, with her running her fingers through my hair, I'm about to fall asleep.
"tomorrow" she says
"what about tomorrow" I mutter, trying not to doze off
"it's a big day"
"yeah" I mutter again "we'll take Sofia shopping, she'll need everything" I'm about to pass out when I feel Arizona laugh, I open my eyes when she says "yeah, we'll take Sofia shopping" when I lift my head to look into her eyes they are so blue, and those dimples. "Calliope" she says "isn't there something else going on tomorrow?" I'm confused, and move so I can sit up. "no" I shake my head
"ok" she smiles and leans over to kiss me. There is a knock at the door, and Arizona gets up to answer it, only opening it enough for her to stick her head out. It was Sofia, saying she was done in the shower. I stopped paying attention, trying to figure out what tomorrow was. I hear my phone ping from the bedside table and I reach for it, seeing a text from Addie "hey I was just wondering if you have any big plans for tomorrow?" I was trying to think of a reply when another text came through "maybe I should ask your mom or Zo, so never mind"
"what the hell" I say not bothering to reply I set my phone back down
"what's up?" Arizona asks sitting down on the bed
"that was Addie"
"Addie?" she asks confused
"Addison Montgomery" I say, I see her nod "she's wondering if there are any big plans for tomorrow" Arizona starts to laugh, and says "what's the date?"
"um" I reach over and pick up my phone again "the 28th" I said still not getting it
"what month?" Arizona asks
"September" I say looking at my phone for clarification, still not getting it.
"Calliope" Arizona says, I can tell she's trying not to laugh "what is important about September 28th?" I look at her still confused, as she stand shaking her head "I love you but you're an idiot"
"oh" I say as it hits me, shaking my head "it's my birthday" she laughs "so I'm told"
"how did I forget my birthday?"
"I don't know" Arizona leaned over and gives me a kiss "get dressed, dinner is almost ready"
