Chapter 23: Utah Bound
Freddy and his friends ran down the street in an attempt to hide from the police. However, they didn't get far as they then saw a police helicopter roaming from the opposite side. The 4 went to the alleyway nearby to hide for now, but they knew they wouldn't be able to hide there for long.
"Our time waitin here may be limited Freddy," said Foxy, "It only be a matter of time till they start lookin for us in that heli." "We gotta find a way to go Utah bound and quickly," said Freddy. "That's gonna be hard when we stick out from everyone else and have the most distinctness," said Chica. "I almost murdered a man hang gliding with a can of beans, only for all of us to be here!" said Bonnie.
Bonnie's phone then began ringing. He checked and to his surprise, it was Buster. "No way!" he said. Bonnie answered the phone as quickly as he possibly could.
"Hello?" he asked. "Hey Bonnie, glad you answered!" said Buster. "I've been trying to get ahold of you Buster!" "I know Bonnie, things haven't been easy. Are you guys in Las Vegas?" "Yeah, we got what we needed, but we're currently hiding." "I can see what your talking about, both security and police are doing everything they can to find you guys." "Wait, how do you know this?" "You'll see. In the meantime, if you feel it's safe enough to come out of the alleyway, please do so." Buster suddenly hung up.
"What was Buster calling you for?" asked Freddy. "He was asking if we were in Las Vegas and to come out of the alleyway?" Bonnie said, feeling like he was unsure of if he heard it right or not. "Did he and Fredbear get out of jail or something?" asked Chica. Bonnie shrugged in response, "He didn't say." "If this be a trap, ye won't be hearin the end of it," said Foxy.
The 4 peaked out of the alleyway. The police helicopter didn't turn on it's searchlight, but the police got into their cars, and were very much on their way to searching the area. Freddy was about to have his friends go back into the alleyway with him, until a van pulled in. The passenger window went down, revealing the driver and passenger. Freddy and his friends gasped.
"Dad?!" Freddy said. "Buster?!" Bonnie said. "Can we save the emotional moment for when you guys get in?" Fredbear considered. "Yeah seriously, hop in," added Buster. So they all hopped into the van, which didn't look too far off from Bonnie's. Once the door was closed, the van took off.
"How did you find us?" asked Freddy, "But more importantly, how did you two break out of jail?" "Someone helped us get out," said Buster, "I don't know who this was, but they seemed like they had a gut feeling about the whole situation that had been going on." "Was this a security guard, police officer, or something?" asked Bonnie. "Some officer who's tag said Willis on it," said Fredbear.
Freddy looked back in his memories to see if he could identify the officer. He had an idea of who this might have been. "Did this officer happen to sound like a New Jersey native?" asked Freddy. "Indeed he did," replied Fredbear. It was then Freddy came to the realization that it was the same officer who had his team search his house, but didn't seem to take it too seriously.
Before anything else could be said, a loud gunshot could be heard. "What the hell was that?!" Foxy exclaimed. Buster looked through his side mirrors, and saw a silver vehicle chasing them. "Some vehicle chasing us?" he assumed. Chica looked out the back window, she saw the two security guards chasing them through car. One of which had a gun in hand. "It's the security guards!" Chica said.
In the car, the 2nd guard was trying to shoot the tires out, but was unsuccessful. Meanwhile, the 1st guard was driving and was on radio with police. "They got into a silver van!" he said, "We are currently trying to take out their tires!"
By now, Buster put pedal to the metal. "Hold on everyone!" he announced, going the fastest he possible could. In less than a minute, police cars began showing up at a rapid pace. For 2 straight minutes, they were chased by the security guards, a police chopper, and a wave of police cars. Many corners and turns were taken, even drifts too. "Where did you learn to drive like this?" asked Freddy. "My days of go-karting," replied Buster. Fredbear took out a barf bag and threw up in it.
Eventually, the chopper was able to lose sight of them and the same could be said with the police. This gave the gang the opportunity to go hide in a parking garage until it was clear to go. Once those who were chasing them were gone, they exited the garage and within minutes, were on the verge of exiting Las Vegas. "Okay, so all we need to do is go to Utah from here," said Freddy, "From there, we'll be home before we know it."
Just then, in front of them were a line of police cars. The behind them was the silver car with the security. "Nowhere to run, so park it!" yelled one of them. Buster looked to his left and saw an opeb alleyway. "We refuse to yield!" he said as he swerved left and into the alleyway, with Monty's securty tailing them.
"Shit, I'm out of bullets," said the 2nd guard. "Don't worry, they'll be out of luck before they know it," replied the 1st guard. They decided to continue tailing the van.
Meanwhile, the gang were still going as fast as they possibly could. It looked like they were fastly approaching a dead end. "Buster, I think we are about to hit the end!" said Fredbear. However, Buster saw an opening to the right and he immediately swerved in that direction.
The guards had no time to react by the time they were where it looked to end. Both of them screamed as they hit into a dumpster full force. This made the air bags go off as the whole front got completely damaged. Both of Monty's security guards were unharmed.
The van Freddy, his dad, and friends were in was officially leaving Las Vegas. "Aha! We did it!" Freddy said, high fiving everyone in the van he could. "To town, here we come!" said Bonnie. "When we get back home, there's gonna be a lot of celebrating," said Chica, "I mean, obviously after we get the pizzaria back."
"What did we miss while being locked up?" asked Fredbear. Freddy explained all of what transpired from the moment they left town until they met up in Las Vegas. "If ye don't mind me askin, how did ye and Buster? Aside from what we already know," said Foxy.
"Once that friendly officer set us free from where we were, he let us barrow his van that he came in with," Fredbear explained, "Buster then took out his phone that he had been hiding where the sun don't shine, and set his GPS to Las Vegas. It was only a one hour drive to get to you guys and I'm sure we couldn't have came at a better time." "To be honest, not much really happened," Buster also explained, "Aside from us getting freed almost 2 hours ago, there wasn't a whole lot going on. On the plus side, we didn't see Francis and the boys. Moreso, I didn't see him or the other 2 come back after that attempt they made on me. And yes, I was fine since I was pretty much saved by some nearby guards."
Back in town...
Monty and Sparky were close to falling asleep in their hotel room for the night. For the most part, it was an uneventful day for them. But maybe it was for the best after what happened yesterday. By some miracle, Monty didn't break his wrist, let alone his fingers or hand after punching the box car that night.
His phone was on vibrate, which annoyed the gator. Despite checking to see who it was, Monty didn't feel like answering. It was the security calling him. "Eh...not now," he said, hanging up the call. Monty then went back to trying to sleep.
Within a minute and a half, a message popped up in the notifications. This would ultimately be Monty's biggest regret by morning.
Back on the road...
The van started sputtering very shortly after the gang entered Utah. "Oh no," said Buster, "We're almost out of fuel!" "Should've refueled while we thought about it," said Fredbear, "Then again, us trying to be unnoticed and having zero dollars on us would creative problems naturally." "Oh look! A gas station!" said Bonnie, pointing out to one. "If it wasn't closed," said Freddy, pointing out to how it was closed for the night.
Just then, the van officially ran out of gas as Buster pulled it to the side of the road. "We've only been driving for less than one hour," sighed Foxy. "At least there's a motel across the street," said Chica, as it was revealed a motel was just across the street.
With Buster in the driver's seat to steer, everyone else pushed the van to the parking lot. "How did you guys manage getting through security?" asked Buster. "There were only two guards," answered Freddy, "I don't know who told you that place was under high security, probably Monty, but the only thing we had to worry about was holding off the police and security. Our distractions oddly worked, but maybe they were in a good mood tonight. The police I mean, not the security. Security were itching to get us." "I mean, it is a Saturday night, so..." Buster said.
The van was put in one of the parking spots, before checking in for the night. With the remainder of the main four's money, they used it to have two seperate rooms. One for Freddy, Bonnie, and Chica; The other for Foxy, Fredbear, and Buster. As much as they didn't want to stop for the night, they just had to. As long as the gas station stays cloesed, they won't be going anywhere. All they could do was try and rest up, because tomorrow was going to be crazy.
