Chapter 121 -The Splendorous Two Gods

"Super Saiyan God," muttered Gohanks. "I should have expected it more sooner than later." Closing his eyes, the golden aura of the Super Saiyan retracted into Gohan's body. Briefly without aura, he re-opened his eyes, now crimson with pupils visible of their own. The ki coalesced at a single point within his core, before bursting to life in a blooming conflagration. His golden tresses darkened, becoming a vibrant crimson, and the sharp, defined muscles of the Super Saiyan receded, revealing the thin, divine form of the Super Saiyan God.

Crimson eyes started into a twinned crimson set.

Swiftly, both gods lunged towards each other. The second round had begun.

Northern Mountain Range, Dochi's Laboratory

"Gevo, how are the readings?" Dochi inquired. The quaking and trembling of the planet had seemingly ceased, yet she could feel something was off. Before, the air was alight with chaos; Dochi didn't need Gevo's sensory units to feel the energy going off from every angle, even if she couldn't parse it for strength. Now, an inexplicable tension that seemed to resonate through every molecule filled the air instead. It was as if an invisible force had wrapped around her, which she found immensely unsettling. The hairs on the back of her neck stood on end, and she paused; Dochi didn't think Gevo would have an answer.

"ɪ ᴄᴀɴ ɴᴏ ʟᴏɴɢᴇʀ ᴅᴇᴛᴇᴄᴛ ᴇɪᴛʜᴇʀ ᴏꜰ ᴛʜᴇ ɴᴇᴡ ᴘᴏᴡᴇʀ ʀᴇᴀᴅɪɴɢꜱ," said No 16. "ɪ ᴅᴏ ᴅᴇᴛᴇᴄᴛ ᴘʜʏꜱɪᴄᴀʟ ᴍᴏᴠᴇᴍᴇɴᴛ, ʏᴇᴛ ɪᴛ ɪꜱ ᴏᴛʜᴇʀᴡɪꜱᴇ ᴀꜱ ɪꜰ ᴛʜᴇʀᴇ ɪꜱ ɴᴏ ʟɪꜰᴇ ꜰᴏʀᴍꜱ ᴄʀᴇᴀᴛɪɴɢ ᴛʜᴇ ᴅɪꜱᴛᴜʀʙᴀɴᴄᴇ ᴏᴄᴄᴜʀʀɪɴɢ ᴡɪᴛʜɪɴ ᴛʜᴇ ɴᴏʀᴛʜᴇʀɴ ꜰᴏʀᴇꜱᴛ."

Dochi, who had until that point been pacing, paused mid-stride. She'd detected within Gevo's voice the unmistakable traces of astonishment. The cyborg had never worked with any entirely-synthetic life form besides Gevo before, so she could hardly be called an expert. However, she had read Gero's files, and she knew that emotional registry wasn't built into them. It had been one of the reasons he'd considered Gevo - who he'd built modeled after his own son - a failure. So, never once in the years since she'd found him had he ever seemed to register surprise.

Whatever level those two were fighting at, it was beyond something that was comprehensible on the mortal scale.

"That Trunks boy might pull a miracle out of nowhere," muttered Dochi, a thin finger on her chin. She glanced out at the honeycomb barrier, unable to determined where the fighting was taking place, yet still feeling some sense of purpose by trying to source it out either way. "We'll need to be ready to give him some support - we couldn't help him rebuild the world last time. We will this time. What do you say, Gevo?"

"ɪ ʜᴀᴠᴇ ɴᴏ ɪɴᴛᴇʀᴇꜱᴛ ɪɴ ᴀɪᴅɪɴɢ ʜᴜᴍᴀɴꜱ," No 16 said flatly. "ʜᴏᴡᴇᴠᴇʀ, ᴛʀᴜɴᴋꜱ ʜᴀꜱ ᴘʀᴏᴠᴇɴ ᴛᴏ ʙᴇ ᴀ ꜰʀɪᴇɴᴅ ᴛᴏ ᴛʜᴀᴛ ᴡʜɪᴄʜ ɪ ᴠᴀʟᴜᴇ - ᴛᴏ ɴᴀᴛᴜʀᴇ, ᴛᴏ ᴛʜᴇ ᴅᴇꜰᴇɴꜱᴇʟᴇꜱꜱ, ʟɪᴠɪɴɢ ᴄʀᴇᴀᴛᴜʀᴇꜱ. ᴡᴇ ᴡɪʟʟ ᴀɪᴅ ʜɪᴍ."

Dochi smiled, revealing adorable dimples. "I agree. I think he's worth helping."

Northern Sea

Over the frigid, open ocean's vast blue expanse,, the two divine Saiyans clashed in a brilliant showing of power and light. The two fused Super Saiyan Gods were warring at a level far above anything either had reached, the sort of battle that could only come from two ephemerals. Black and Gohanks approached in a blazing dance of destruction, their auras melding into a single, brilliant amalgam of energy which seemed to burn the sky. The air around them snapped with the intensity of their combat, generating shockwaves which rippled across the ocean's surface, churning it into a frothy maelstrom. The sky darkened under the pressure being generated by two blitzing deities.

Black swung down his divine saber.

Gohanks parried not with his sword, but with a kikōha.

At this moment of impact, the ocean's surface grew still, the waves seemingly retreating before the inevitable explosion. The collision resulted in a dazzling sphere of light, which pushed Black that moment, the ocean split. The colossal waves parted, and with this gave way to a yawning chasm which stretched outward for miles. The very world itself appeared to watch breathless at this the battle of gods. The split ocean roared in response to their fury, its waters rising to form towering pillars that stretched towards the heavens, only to collapse in a deluge of white-hot steam as their fists met once more.

Their relentless battle propelled them further north, noting the frigid plunge in temperature of the Northern Sea. The clashing duo rapidly approached the icy embrace of the Yunzabit Highlands. The temperature plummeted, and the ocean around them became dotted with slabs of ice, ranging in size from small fragments to blanketing sheets. Neither divine fusion faltered in their advance, their speed and power unaffected entirely by the harsh shift in climate. Gohanks and Black streaked through the sea like meteors, their footsteps cracking the frozen surface and sending shards of ice flying in their wake. The polar regions, normally blissfully silent and devoid of noise, found it shattered by the thundering gods who crashed through the glaciers dotting the ocean.

As the duo approached the looming cliffsides of the Yunzabit Highlands, the ancient hills, lined with hardy grass, seemed to shake in anticipation for a battle at the end of the very world.

The fused clashed only picked up intensity over the iced ocean. The very air itself grew thick, attempting to cling to Gohanks' and Black's gi, hair, and skin. Still, as the two fought, the frost burst from their forms, fizzling out instantly. The world no longer held sway over them. The ice cracked and reformed with each step, a testament to the unbridled power they exuded. The two burst out from the sea over the land, and the very ground beneath them trembled, the Earth itself protesting to their unabated battle.

Two crimson streaks touched down on the highest points of the Yunzabit Highlands, the apex of the world's coldest battleground, each splitting off to land at a separate point. The wind roared around them, sending a frigid, ocean gust throughout the rocks and over their bodies.

"How very fitting," Black mused, his sinister tone carrying through the biting, roaring wind. "That this place shall become your grave, Gohanks; this ignoble, forgotten corner of the planet you humans have tarnished." His crimson eyes seemed to gleam, setting him apart from the overcast sky and bleak landscape. "This desolate place mirrors the fate of you humans - soon, you too will be nothing but a forgotten, bitter memory."

Gohanks, his gaze unflinching, met the challenge in Black's eyes. "I've already made my opinions on your views plain," he said, cutting through Black's rhetoric without preamble. "You couldn't be a bigger hypocrite if you tried. Yet you're right that it is fitting." The fused Saiyan God looked around the Highlands, his memories of Piccolo's relation to this barren location coming to mind. Gohan and Trunks, the continuation of Piccolo's teachings, would slay a rogue god here where the old God of Earth was reared. "The universe really has its own sense of humour."

Black dropped into a stance that Gohanks recognised all too well, a clear mimicry of Son Gokū, the Saiyan which made up half his fusion. His feet spread apart, bending one slightly forward, while a twisted smirk played over his face, clearly delighting in channeling the man he so longed to surpass. One arm extended, fist clenched, he raised the other behind him, fingers grasped and ready.

In response, Gohanks' adopted his own stance; crouching, he dropped his right hand towards his side, and held his left forward in front of him, bending all but two fingers and the thumb. He had adopted Vegeta's combat stance, a crouched, coiled form that was uniquely associated with Saiyan martial might. Gohanks, however, did not seek to imitate or surpass anyone.

Silently, with determination, Gohanks surged forward first. He let loose a barrage of punches towards Black with his left arm, though Black remained unfazed, his eyes narrowing in concentration as he deftly avoided the incoming blows. While Gohan's fist rushed by him, Black took advantage of the opening, swinging his left arm up in a wide arc, the punch moving with enough speed to blur. Gohanks, reading the motion, brought up his right arm to parry, his palm absorbing the blow with a resounding SMACK! At the time time, he twisted his body, jutting out his left elbow, stopping a sharp, swift motion from Black's free hand.

Gohanks' left leg arched in a powerful kick aimed at Black's torso. Black, anticipating the move, deftly backflipped away from Gohanks' grasp, blurring his body against the barren, chilled Yunzabit peaks. The fused Saiyan God sprinted after Black, his boots kicking off easily from the surfaces. Black, landing from his evasive manoeuvre, turned to the offensive; his legs bending, in a single fluid motion, he leapt forward, letting loose a swift, elbow blow which mirrored Gohanks' from earlier. A firm THUD! sounded, Black's elbow making its mark, and sending Gohanks' reeling back through the frigid air

The Yunzabit Highlands was already protesting beneath the weight of their simple physical exchange, the very Earth beneath them seeming to scream in protest as the resulting blows creating shockwaves which tore the rockfaces they stood on apart. Gohanks' spiraled through the air, righting himself in moments, only to see Black had left his field of vision. Naturally, he sensed the approach of the enemy long before he felt it. The merged Saiyan God twisted his body to avoid an incoming swipe of Black's arm which certainly would have sent him hurtling towards the jagged cliff face The frigid air whipped around Gohanks as Black's hand whizzed over his head, Gohanks retaliated quickly with a straight kick, which was dodged with equal ease by Black.

The Highlands trembled as Gohanks and Black clashed again, their bodies creating a blur of motion against the stark, rugged backdrop. A fierce dance was unfolding again, rising above the precarious outcrops beneath them. Gohanks' arm swung in a mighty arc, aiming at Black's midsection, but the latter twisted himself out of the way, leaving empty air where he'd just been. The black-clad Saiyan countered with his own flurry of blows, the two matching each other beat for beat.

"I don't know what I was worried for!" crowed Black, weaving around a right hook from Gohan. "I thought you had the edge over me, but it looks like we've squared that misconception away!" Black struck Gohanks hard with a knee to the gut, following up with a crushing sledgehammer strike aimed at Gohanks' skull. Gohanks raise both forearms to block, bracing himself for the impact smashing into him. Bone against bone reverberated throughout the Yunzabit Highlands, echoing off the tall peaks. The blow sent Gohanks spiraling downward; he expelled a kiai to steady himself, righting himself in the air to stare at Black.

"What are you smiling for?" asked Black.

"No reason," replied Gohanks. "I just didn't expect you to get ahead of yourself that easily. Maybe you're just having too much fun?"

"Oh I am," said Kūhan Black. "I didn't think anyone would be able to keep you with the level I've reached, yet you've proven to be quite the splendid test for my newfound power." The corners of Black's mouth curled into his twisted grin. "Your tenacity continues to prove amusing."

Gohanks eyes narrowed at Black's words. "This is the furthest thing from amusing," he said, his voice steady in contrast to the shaking, crumbling Highlands around them. "But I concede you've got a knack for keeping this battle interesting."

I don't know how much of our respective hours have passed, thought Gohanks. But if this is anything like Goten and Trunks' fusion, it's bound to have its own hiccups. I really want to avoid using Blue unless I need to.

Black extended his palms outward, before bringing them down to cup at his sides. "Ka...Me..." Coalescing between his palms was a vibrant blue sphere of energy, bathing Black and the surroundings in its vivid blue light. "Ha...Me..." The energy was built to its highest point, Black's eyes narrowing in concentration.

"HA!"

Thrusting his arms forward, with a roar that echoed throughout the Yunzabit Highlands, Black loosed the kikōha towards entire landscape was swallowed by light, and beneath it, it cleaved a path, blowing away cliff after cliff, and leaving not even dust. The sheer strength of a Super Saiyan God charged Kamehameha caused the planet itself to shake as it rushed down Gohanks.

Standing at the opposite end of this cataclysmically strong Kamehameha, Gohanks reacted swiftly. He reached outwards, as if he was a diver, both hands crashing into the head of the Kamehameha beam. His Super Saiyan God aura, resplendent in radiance, seemed to extend, bending around the incoming Kamehameha. The air crackled and snapped with the tension of two energies fighting to overcome each other for dominance. Black kept up the pressure, trying to overcome Gohanks' sudden roadblocking of his own ki.

Then it bent.

The fused Saiyan God had warped the fabric of Black's Kamehameha, his own ki matching the frequently perfectly. The Kamehameha reversed its course, now a river of light and fury, lunging towards its master. Black's eyes widened, entirely unable to predict this course of events. He could only hold his stance, the Kamehameha of his own creation slamming into his outstretched palms. With all of his might, Black kept it at bay, force of his own strength surprising him. With a grunt of exertion, he heaved it over his head and into the distance. The resultant explosion painted the sky with hues of blue and white, sending shockwaves which rippled throughout the planet, into the sky and outwards into space itself.

Gohanks had never been happier that the planet was nigh desolate. All in all, his Rebel Breaker had been a success, especially for something he'd done on the spur of the moment.

"It's going to take far more than your stolen bodies' techniques to beat me," Gohanks said sharply.

"Your tone betrays your envy," replied Black. "To see your father's and your own powers perfected like this."

He really doesn't shut up, thought Gohanks. Eager to quiet the annoyance, Gohanks unsheathed his blade. Black, equally eager, mirrored him with his hand, igniting a blazing crimson blade around his palm. The two gods surged forward, tearing the air and ground apart as they moved, physical and ethereal blade clashing against each other. The clanging of steel, the sizzling of energy, the duality of sounds filled the air, Gohanks and Black weaving around each other in a fierce dance, their swords a blur of motion. Gohanks' eyes narrowed, reading Black's incoming strike - a crimson streak, trailing destruction behind it. Gohanks deftly stepped aside, avoiding being rent in two by the powerful downward strike; the resultant wave cleaved the continent of the Yunzabit Highlands apart.

The once-solid ground beneath their feet cracked and crumbled under the pressure, the island continent itself began to give way as Black's attack had completely damaged its stability. Gohanks, feeling the battleground was a lost cause, propelled himself over the ever widening chasm of the former Highlands, whose plateaus were becoming a rain of rock and debris, making a break for it over the ocean.

Black's eyes, glinting with crimson malice, took to the skies in hot pursuit, his aura igniting as he followed.

Rushing across the churning sea, Gohannks saw land and dove down. Spinning around to face Black, his boots skid along the ground. Wherever he had landed, it was an island ghost town now - full of empty homes which should have had people. Many of these empty homes gave way to his presence, shattering into rubble when Gohanks passed through them. Eyes skyward, Gohanks' saw a pink rain rushing down; Black's kikōha descended over the island, a blazing storm to raze the island in flame and burn the buildings to ash.

Ever vigilant, Gohanks used his sword to deflect each and every kikōha, batting them upward, the explosions of blast hitting blast setting the sky alight yet again. Black dove through the explosions, his blade aiming to piece Gohanks through. The fused Saiyan leapt above him, avoiding him and making the rooftops. Black's blade sliced through several buildings and into the island, setting up the same crumbling scenario on this much smaller battleground. Yahhoy began to crumble beneath their feet. Gohanks, birdlike, navigated through the crumbling, sinking landmass. Black was no mere opponent to be shaken so easily. Anticipating Gohank's evasive tactics, the man placed two fingers to his forehead, vanishing ont he spot. Rematerialising behind Gohanks, he brought his hand up to the man's back, detonating a point-blank kikōha

Caught entirely offguard, Gohanks rocketed down towards the crumbling landmass. He slammed into the ocean, finding himself enveloped in a whirlwind of rubble and seawater, his impact creating a white tower of water which rushed skyward. The waves spread out in all directions, speeding up the destruction of Yahhoy as it washed land and building away. Emerging from underwater, Gohanks shook it off.

"Of course he can use Dad's teleportation," muttered Gohanks. "I'm an idiot for forgetting." The battle continued at its rapid pace, Black and Gohanks carving across the sea.

The Eastern Capital, Earth

"Have you been timing it?" Shin asked Gowasu, peering into the orb to see Gohanks and Black making landfall. Shin saw Gohanks leaping backwards over open land, Black pursuing, blade drawn.

"I don't think it matters," said Bulma, cutting across Shin. "Either one of them defusing will settle the whole matter — if Gohanks defuses first, we've lost. Why mull over the clock?"

Shin swallowed. She was right.

"Have some faith," said Gowasu. "Those two represent your Universe, right? The best of your people. I just wish I could do more to correct my own mistakes..."

"Well said," came a voice none of them recognised. The group looked around and saw a gargantuan, red-haired man landing next to them, with a petite young girl sitting on his shoulders. Her hair was a bright teal, and hung in long twintails. On his other shoulder was...Mai? "You must be Trunks' friends."

"Mai!" Bulma gasped. "You're alright!"

"I'm doing as well as I can," said Mai, sliding slowly off of No. 16's shoulders and trying to steady herself. "I left Qirka back in the city - she volunteered to stay behind and monitor the situation, and keep an eye on Gohan's mother. I...I couldn't stay away. These two found me on my hoverbike making my way here. When I explained the situation, they offered to take me the rest of the way."

"These two?" said Bulma. ""W-Wait..you're...Android 16!"

"ᴀꜰꜰɪʀᴍᴀᴛɪᴠᴇ. ᴀɴᴅ ʏᴏᴜ, ᴀʀᴇ ʙᴜʟᴍᴀ. ɪ ʀᴇᴄᴏɢɴɪꜱᴇ ʏᴏᴜ ꜰʀᴏᴍ ᴍʏ ᴅᴀᴛᴀʙᴀꜱᴇ." said No. 16. "ʙᴜᴛ ʏᴏᴜʀ ᴘʀᴇꜱᴇɴᴄᴇ ʜᴇʀᴇ ꜱʜᴏᴜʟᴅ ʙᴇ ɪᴍᴘᴏꜱꜱɪʙʟᴇ. ʏᴏᴜʀ ʟɪꜰᴇ ꜱɪɢɴꜱ ᴠᴀɴɪꜱʜᴇᴅ ꜱᴏᴍᴇ ᴛɪᴍᴇ ᴀɢᴏ."

"Oh, you're Bulma?" said the young girl, sliding off No. 16's shoulders and landing neatly, walking over and looking up. She only came up to Bulma's chest, and Bulma wasn't tall herself. It was a bit of a staggering height difference in comparison to No 16. "I've heard about you, but if Gevo says you died, how are you here?"

Shin, Gowasu, and Bulma exchanged looks, evidently confused.

"Um...who are you two?" said Shin.

"Friends of Trunks as well," said the girl simply. "My name is Dochi. I am an Android, like Gevo here. I saved Trunks earlier, and helped him make it back to you." Her piercing eyes swiveled to the crystal ball. "I assume he's part of the nonsense going on in that."

Bulma placed a finger to her chin. So she had helped Trunks recover and made their way here? It would make some sense. She simply hadn't expected to see Android 16 in this timeline. Trunks hadn't recognised him back in her timeline, so she had assumed No 16 was a variable which Trunks' time travel had made manifest. Shaking her head, Bulma looked down at Dochi.

"We're from the past," Bulma explained. "I exist here because I came from another timeline. Trunks came to our time once before to seek help, and he came to us again to help deal with that imposter."

Dochi's eyes lit up, and she immediately began muttering rapidly under her breath. ""What's this...time travel is not simply theoretical...it's been achieved?! I'm a chemist, so theoretical physics isn't necessarily my wheelhouse, but the possibilities are limitless, and I don't mind dipping into another field of study." Her sparkling eyes grew wide, as she kept muttering, apparently entirely unaware that she'd lost the ability for internal speech. "If she's speaking truth, it would challenge the very accepted foundation on our understaning of space-time. The papers I could publish once Trunks sorts all of this out, the paradoxes alone could fi—"

"ᴅᴏᴄʜɪ, ʏᴏᴜ ᴀᴘᴘᴇᴀʀ ᴛᴏ ʙᴇ ᴍᴀʟꜰᴜɴᴄᴛɪᴏɴɪɴɢ," said No 16, cutting across Dochi's mutterings and rants.

"I'm going to need you to keep that to yourself, Dochi," said Bulma imploringly. "Time travel has caused us enough issues."

The Android woman frowned, but the two behind Bulma were staring at her sternly. "I'll shelve it for now. Who are they?"

"Two of the Kaiōshin," said Bulma. "Some of the highest gods of the Universe."

Dochi blinked. "We're women of science, Bulma, so forgive me if I don't roll with this talk of gods. But I can't deny there's something off about them. Regardless, none of that is why I came here!" She turned to stare at the crystal ball. "It seems this broadcasting device is letting us view the battle in real time...that's good." Staring intently at the crystal ball, watching as Gohanks deftly avoided a strike from Black's blade. "16 and I have decided to help Trunks when this is all over."

"This is the most I can do now," said Mai, who sounded as if she was forcing herself to keep the defeat out of her voice. "This is so far beyond my scope...I was by Trunks' side until now, but all I can do is watch while he settles everything!" Her voice cracked, and she felt her eyes begin to water furiously.

Bulma walked over, placing a hand on Mai's shoulder. "It doesn't get easy, does it? Watching the person who means the most to you, go off and do reckless things. His father wasn't any different." She sighed. "I'm no fighter, and to be honest, I don't have any love for the musclehead habits of my friends. But I've been tinkering with too many things since my husband died, so now, I'd rather be next to everyone in case something goes wrong again. You'll find where you stand next to Trunks, don't worry. You mean a lot to him."

"Bulma..." Mai's voice choked up. "T-thank you..."

Earth, Western Provincial Area 1050, Outskirts

Two crimson streaks raced across the landscape. The ground itself trembled the coastline retreated well into the distance as he two gods clashed, each determined to overwhelm the other. The rocky wastes of the Provincial Area, with its scattered trees and outcrops, now found itself the new battlefield for clashing deities. The two titans were engaged in a fierce dance of destruction, their bodies far more than simple blurs as they struck and parried.

Gohanks gathered his ki around his palm, forming a swirling cyclone in the shape of a sphere. This compressed typhoon was no bigger than a basketball, and he lunged forward with it. His arm rushed to meet Black's incoming ki sabre, the blazing blade of light thrusting forward in its own stabbing motion. The two energies crashed into each other, the resulting clash sending reverberating shockwaves around the planet. The sphere and blade intertwined in a blazing dance, crackling and snapping, emitting energy in every direction. When the tensions between the colliding attacks grew unstable, they exploded in a cacophony of noise. The rush of pressure flew out in all directions, breaking Gohans and Black apart.

The two bodies tumbled down into the centre of a deep crater, created by the detonation of their two techniques. Where the crater hadn't buried itself into the continent. trees had been forcibly flattened and pushed aside, while outcrops crumbled and fell. Amidst the destruction however, there was no sign of victory for either party. The two stood up in the crater, their dominant arm sleeves blown off and destroyed, their arms singed and burned.

Kūhan Black's eyes widened slightly; he was unable to suppress his sense of admiration mixing in with his feelings of frustration. The merger of Gohan and Trunks had created someone extraordinary; it wasn't the son of Gokū from the past, who had pushed him to his limit, or the son of Vegeta, who he had toyed with so easily. The Saiyan standing before him how was someone far more powerful, a variable he never could have anticipated. "Your power really is extraordinary," said Black. "But it won't be enough to forestall divine judgement. I will strike you down."

Gohanks felt the sweat beading down his neck, but he ignored it. He stared fiercely at Black, his crimson eyes glinting. "And I'll keep getting back up," he said, "I will keep fighting until I kill you. That's how humans are!" His statement was simple but the conviction behind it made Black's eye twitch in irritation. "You can't win, Black."

The air thick with tension, the two warriors took this slight moment of reprieve to catch their breath. Eyes locked, they seemed to make the same decision at the exact same moment. Both gods bellowed out to the heavens, their auras shifting through colours from crimson to pink and blue. Gohanks' form was encased in a vivid blue shell, while Black's was encased similarly in pink. Black's aura grew erratic, his shell withering and fading away to reveal his resplendent transcendent god form. Gohank's vibrant azure aura blazed, his own encasement cracking and fading, revealing his own transformation.

"This form..." said Gohanks, clenching both fists. "Naming it now is as good a time as ever. This is Super Saiyan Blue. I'll defeat you with this power, Black."

"Super Saiyan Blue...a mundane name to fit a mundane mind," said Black. "However, if we're going to be tossing out befitting titles, then I will call this Rosé. Super Saiyan Rosé."

Shouting in equal measure, Gohanks and Black surged towards each other. Left and right knee collided with each other, Black raising an arm to deflect an incoming elbow blow from Gohanks. The ground groaned beneath the weight of their power, their pink and blue auras melding as one, in stark contrast to the vast greenery that spread around them outside the crater. With surprising reflexes, Gohanks brought his right arm back, thrusting it forward towards Black. Black, however, parried the blow with his own free hand, a flat palm halting the impact of the blow, forcing the crater to widen ever deeper beneath them. Taking advantage of the momentary lapse, Kūhan Black drove his forehead into Gohanks' nose with the unbridled strength of his Rosé form.

The Super Saiyan Blue's body snapped back from the sheer force, and he felt himself stumble backwards. Taking advantage of the moment, he leapt up and out of the crater, Black in hot pursuit. Black raised two fingers to his head, vanishing in an instant with Teleportation. Gohanks narrowly dodged, feeling Black's surging ki from above; the man was flipping downward, pink blade burning on his hand. The slashing through the air craved a trench from the edge of the crater, just barely missing Gohanks. Black closed in, sword at the ready. His arm coming up, his Super Saiyan Blue opponent brought his hand down towards the flat of the blade, entirely shattering the ki construct.

Grey eyes widened in surprise, Black seeing fragments of his own energy dance in the air. Gohanks' muscles bulged in his left arm as he cocked it back before loosing the punch. Black's surprise was momentary; he too brought his other arm up to parry, a full palm catching the blow to disperse the force. Without giving Gohanks time to recover, Kūhan Black's right leg blurred forth. The ground snapped and shattered beneath them as his boot connected with Gohanks' chest, sending Earth's would-be-hero hurtling backwards through the air. The pink-haired Saiyan capitalised on his advantage, relentlessly breaking out after Gohanks with a frenzy. The two adversaries resumed their fiece combat, dancing across the landscape, their figures becoming a blur of motion and colour against the background of the forest and rocky outcrops. Gohanks' mind was working, attempting to find an opening he could exploit. Black's ferocity, however, had reached a peak, spurred on by the crushing power of Super Saiyan Rosé.

Two arms raised in an x-formation, Gohanks attempted to block the next furious blow from Black; the latter's fist hammered hard into Gohank's forearms, the pressure ringing throughout his body. Gohanks tried to hold his ground, feeling himself pushed back. Grinning maliciously, Black punches Gohanks squarely in the jaw, the impact echoing around like the loudest gunshot. The Saiyan's head whipped to the side, spittle abd blood dancing in the air. Continuing his assault, Black launched into a jackhammering barrage of fists, each one striking Gohanks with speed and precision. The black-clad Saiyan sensed a chance, his ki blade crackling to life yet again over his head. Aiming to end the battle in one stroke, he swung it forward in a curving arc. With the skill that could only come from two fused warriors, Gohanks felt the vibrations coming long before they made contact. With Black's pressure letting up in an effort to swing the sword, he bent his body backwards, his spine arching back. The blade swung over his head, splitting the air in an echoing crash. Black's ki sabre passing harmlessly over him, Gohanks' pressed his hands against the ground, pushing himself upwards. His boots struck Black in the chest, forcing him upwards into the air.

Crouching, Gohanks' gathered strength in his legs, rocketing skyward. His eyes never left the focus on Black. Nearing his opponent, who was still attempting to regain his own footing as it were, Gohanks brought his leg up to meet Black, his knee blurring with motion. The impact was deafening, the crushing impact forcing the air out of Black's lungs in one movement. His palm bursting with light, Gohanks slammed a volatile sphere into Black's body. It exploded on contact, lighting up over the land.

A hand reached out through the smoke, engulfed in its own light. Gohanks was shocked, unable to react to the sphere which collided with him, exploding in a burst of light. The two explosions mixed over the land, churning the sea, generating forceful winds. The dust and debris scattered from the crashing impact, the figures of the two godly Saiyans slowly came back into view. Black and Gohanks' clothing were tattered, their skin sporting fresh abrasions. Injuries aside, both stared daggers at each other, the fight blazing in their eyes.

Gohanks' hand rushed to the hilt of the blade on his back, unsheatring the katchin sword once again. Its ebony blade glinted in the light. Black, by contrast, ignited his hand with ki once more. It burst to life before snaking its way back across his hand, localising itself on his palm. With a swift motion, Black used his other hand to pull the energy out and shape it; it elongated into a vibrant, sleek katana made of pure ki; had it not been crafted by an enemy, Gohanks may have found t beautiful in its way. The centre was a dark black, yet outside, it glowed a mixture of pink and purple.

Black levied the blade towards Gohanks. "Witness, the ultimate tool of my divine retribution," announced Black, his smile sinister. "With the stroke of this blade, I will cut away the canker that infects the universe! I shall purge the cosmos of its corruption and user in a new era of absolute order!"

A/N: OK so to say I meant for this chapter to be longer is an understatement. However, Sparking Zero drops today, I will not have time to do anything for awhile due to sheer hype, so I am breaking the finale into two chapters! This is the first, and I'll writ ethe second one soon. Chapter Black is coming to an end, and thus I want you all to be able to enjoy it as we close on the penultimate arc of this fanfic. The reflection technique Gohan used was called the Rebel Breaker (レベル ブレーカー, Reberu Burekaa). Black's new sword is the Rising Sun Sword Energy Blade (旭日刀型気剣 Kyokujitsu Tō-gata Kiken). I hope I didn't disappointed by not making this chapter longer. The next chapter, I swear, will conclude the whole arc. Meanwhile, everyone, enjoy Sparking! We've waited years! I'll see you all in the next exciting chapter of the Erased Chronicles!
