Harry Does Different DXXXVg
Incest Is Almost The Best 3
Much to Harriet's distress, Hedwig did not return immediately. It was, in fact three days before the Snowy White Owl did. And the letter was not from her male counterpart, rather from a Goblin named Scalpel. The letter reported Harry seriously injured, but recovering. No details. It would be a full week before he could travel. So The-Girl-Who-Lived had to deal with some mocking and scorn. Not from her friends. Malfoy was still Malfoy, though there were Slytherin converts. Ron was still unforgiven due to inadequate apology, though the other Weasleys were on good terms again.
"Hello Hogwarts." Precisely timed for an appearance, the Great Hall was full, the unannounced guest spoke. Perhaps not making the greatest first impression possible, in a wheelchair as he was. But it was a calculated move. Despite the cooling weather, the shorts he wore displayed the not quite fully regrown left leg.
Sure she noticed the mode of arrival, but her pride in, and relief for him could not be denied. Heedless of food and drink Harriet hopped the table while answering the obvious question "That, boys and girls, is Harry Potter." The-Girl-Who-Lived landed in the lap of The-Boy-Who-Lived and kissed him, quite thoroughly. Although became uneasy as he responded.
"I appreciate the enthusiasm." Harry grinned at her, then grimacing in pain "Maybe we can pick that up when I don't have the leg of a 9-year-old? Or a smaller crowd?" They spoke together for a couple minutes, too quietly for even the nearest to hear. And then rolled his wheelchair closer to the Head Table "Just to remove doubt …yes… I am Harry, Regent to Harriet of the Moste Ancient and Moste Noble House Potter."
Before he could continue, a growl of hate came from the Potion Master, and snarling "You're dead Potter!" Simultaneously and with lightning speed his wand came out. However before any words could form, or even aim at his target, he howled in pain, a blade right through both hand and wand.
Madam Pomfrey leapt to give aid, ignoring the protests of her colleagues. Harry was as unconcerned, generally, about the panic around him, but comfortingly clutched Harriet's hand. He spoke over the tumult "Goblin medical is fanatical about patient recovery. Dr. Scalpel here has not released me from care, yet I have a duty to protect my House from fraud and embezzlement."
"No such allegation of Professor Snape's request has a basis in law or fact." Dumbledore was visibly irritated and radiating authority and confidence. But, as if granting a huge concession, added "But perhaps, the matter could have been handled more tactfully. That said- -"
Somewhat forgetting himself, Harry glanced at Hufflepuff and requested "Susan, if you would, send an owl so Snivilus can recover in a cell?"
"I have already addressed you concerns, my boy." The eyes were twinkling, but icily.
If anything, Harry's expression was harder "In another world I might have called you friend, Brian." No one but Harriet got that "Not as things are. No, I'll see him in Azkaban for attempted murder. With plenty of witnesses. Should be a short trial. We'll see what a Gringotts audit reveals."
"I think, as Headmaster, never mind Chief Warlock, I am entitled to know considerably more about someone claiming guardianship of a student. Separately, one seeking control of one of our Sacred 28." The bearded wizard demanded. "Especially someone unheard of in our records."
Harry waved off Harriet's concerned look answering "I have already secured that control, and with the Earl Potter's approval. My kinship with House Potter was confirmed by the Goblins." He nodded at Dr. Scalpel, then grinned unpleasantly "Of course, you have the word of Professor Snivilus, himself, on the subject. He thought I'm Harriet's father, which I assuredly am not. To that end, now is as good a time as any to get it on the record" he pressed the girl's knuckles to his lips and asked "Do me the honor of being my date to The Ball?"
"You are remarkably well informed, Harry Potter." Dumbledore's patience with the whole situation was long since at an end. The Ball had not yet been officially announced.
The Potters ignored him until they were finished with some mutual admiration, then Harry quipped with a shrug "Magic."
"You'll not mind if I trouble you for further details, my boy?" the grandfatherly smile was asking for information, but there was a demanding undertone.
Harry glanced around the Great Hall "I must decline to answer in such a public forum, Mugwump. Though I would love a chat with Rita Skeeter. There is a time and place for details to come out. I don't see her here, now. But if someone can put a bug in her ear." His eyes fixed on a particular spot for no particular reason. "My other concern is the presence of marked Death Eaters. They are the acknowledged servants of the self-proclaimed Lord Voldemort. Snape, obviously, and not that I'd insult our guests, but there's Karkaroff."
"Nevertheless, I will who and what has entered my school." The Headmaster declared, rarely seen wand came out glowing and he fired "Legilimens!"
Recovering from his injury, as he was, Harry was unable to properly defend his mind. However, a variation on what he'd done to Harriet's mind to cloud his identity worked here. He simply passed out.
Dumbledore recoiled mentally, here was something he had never experienced. The expected Occlumency shield collapsed in the instant of contact. However, instead of any useful information, everything was there to be seen but all in tiny scattered pieces. Like a jigsaw puzzle with a million million pieces.
"An assault on a patient under Gringotts care will be referred to Her Majesty for a response." And Dr. Scalpel was not referring to Elizabeth II. Then growled at the human girl "When next you see your mate he will be whole and well."
