Still Blue

Chapter 19

You're a few years overdue

I spent them waiting here for you.

My only hope is letting go

"I thought i would just drop by instead of calling or texting." Lucas said. As he entered Clothes over bros.

Brooke couldn't hide her stunned expression.

Lucas noticed how jumpy she was which was odd. He was far from a stranger.

"Are you on break? It's normally alot more busy in here." Lucas questioned.

"I am. My morning rush of customers have come and left."

"How was you're business trip?" Brooke asked.

"Uneventful. But i love seeing my fans and i saw Peyton for dinner while i was there."

"Anyway i missed Tree Hill. And our daughter. How is Penelope?" How are you Brooke? We haven't spoken since i left." Lucas questioned.

"Same old routine. Nothing to report. I think we should get that room you have ready for visits with Penelope. Then if and when she visits you're house she can spend the night if she wants."

"What do you think?" Brooke suggested.

"I would love that. What brought this change of heart?" Lucas asked.

"You're her dad she wants you in her life. That is important to me."

"She's my heart Lucas. Please take you're place in her life seriously." Brooke confessed.

"Of course. I do. Us putting her first as parents is what matters." Lucas replied.

"Did you really miss me or were you just saying it to be nice?" Brooke asked.

"I was being honest. You're important to me Brooke." He replied.

"We're friends. We're co parents." Lucas said.

"Right exactly." Brooke replied.

"I should go i have unpacking of my luggage to do." Lucas said.

Brooke's smile faded as he turned his back.

...

Later on that night

"I can't believe you convinced me to do this." Brooke said.

"You look incredible. Its unfair how stunning you are in everything." Rachel commented.

Brooke had on a dark blue dress. Heels. Light makeup on her face.

"It's dinner. If it doesn't feel right fake a reason to leave and get out of there. Me and Penelope will be just fine."

"You deserve a night out." Rachel insisted.

Brooke gazed over herself in the mirror. In stomach in knots.

She didn't know how to do any of this. It had been years.

But the two had connected through messages. Texting. Video chats.

Yet still all of this made her nervous. She knew it was a step forward she needed to take.

So after saying goodbye to Penelope. She left and drove to where they had agreed to meet.

She went through the door and was soon left to a booth.

Where she was met with a handsome young man.

Who smiled at her and recognized her instantly.

She sat down across from him.

And started to begin a new stage in her life.

His name Oscar Storm Watson.

He was lawyer. That lived a couple hours out Tree Hill.

He had naturaly tanned skin. Grey eyes. He was calm. Engaging. Was an only child. His parents lived a few doors down from him.

And he admitted he was done with dating without purpose and meaning.

The date went on until the place was closing for the night.
