Chapter 21
Lucas found himself leaving Naley's house and driving over to Brooke's home. He parked. Made his way up the stairs.
Bawled up his fist and knocked on the door.
He didn't like to just show up with no notice. But he couldn't stop thinking about Brooke and this guy. The whole thing had just taken him so off guard.
He prepared himself to see her and as the door opened he locked in on her.
"Lucas what is going on? Why are you here?"
"Is everything okay?" Brooke questioned.
"No its not. Who is this guy you're dating all of a sudden calling him you're boyfriend?"
"It makes no sense and it's rushed and reckless." Lucas replied.
The expression on her face hardened.
"Who do you think you are!"
"You said it yourself we're friends and co parents."
"You expect me to stay still and consumed with feelings and yearning for you."
"And for years i did that. I would allow myself to imagine you coming back. Ready to choose me and start over."
"But as the years went by. I had to stop it hurt too much."
"I loved you so much. You know how deeply i cared."
"Even letting you go. You felt my love."
"What does me having someone special in my life matter to you?"
"You haven't wanted or thought about me in 5 years."
"Am i wrong for wanting to be picked first?"
"Go home Lucas. You made you're feelings clear long ago."
"You aren't the guy for me. So what are you doing?" Brooke proclaimed. As she went back inside and closed the door.
