Dimentio hadn't found a chance to talk to Grape for the last couple of days, and Olly's been stuck halfway into his beast form. Because of that, Olly refused to leave his room until he was better. He talked through texts or calls now, to go over things with his kingdom.

Grape however, had been dragged into multiple activities to prepare for the Halloween Night Parade. She seemed against them at first, but eventually joined them willingly when they asked if she could bake cookies.

Dimentio walked into the kitchen as she was putting the cookies into the oven.

"Oh. It's you."

Dimentio waved. "I noticed you seemed a little down these past couple of days, so I got you a gift! Go on, open it."

She took it from him. "If it's another phone then-"

"Calm your curls, I got you something I knew you'd like."

She opened it. "A...typewriter? Why? Am I really that old fashioned?"

"Well, no. But since I haven't seen you use your phone yet, I thought that perhaps a computer might be a bit much for you. So I bought you that instead." He beamed.

"You didn't buy this, did you?"

"Uh...No. I ripped it off some old man. I didn't have the money he needed so I was planning on paying it back later...But he found out I was the Charming Magician Dimentio and kind of threw it at my face." He held up a tooth. "And he really did throw it at my face too. It hurt so much."

Grape huffed. "Can't you take any situation seriously? You could have died and you don't even care."

"Be thankful the only damage is a tooth! I can just grow it back in about three days." He smiled, revealing it was a front tooth that he lacked.

"I hate to be the bearer of bad news," she clearly did want to upset him by her tone of voice, "but you can't grow your teeth back once they're fully grown in. You're stuck with that gap. How awful, you look like a child."

Dimentio shook his head. "I despise talking or even thinking about my demon side, but there are some things I cannot change. Glutton and King demons have rows upon rows of teeth, like a shark! So when one gets knocked out, it can just grow back."

"You know, that is really disturbing. But you want to know what I have that can handle 'rows upon rows of teeth?'"

"Hm?"

She held up a pair of pliers. "Pliers. Start running before you have a mouth full of gums."

Dimentio covered his mouth. "You sick freak! Why would you threaten your own brother like this?!"

"You're obviously scared I would actually do that since you have your mouth covered." She twirled the pliers on her finger. "But I would never actually do it. Too much of a mess."

Dimentio kicked the typewriter. "Forget I got you anything! I tried to be nice and you just belittle me, again!" He walked out, limping.

Grape smiled. "That got rid of him surprisingly easy." She put it on the counter and picked up the typewriter. "I wonder what he-Oh?"

There was a small note attached, which told her that she could write her won tragedies on it instead of trying to cause one. She smiled a bit.

She didn't leave the kitchen until the cookies were done, for fear of burning them. She placed them on a plate once the icing was done and put them in the living room. She sat on the couch and waited for somebody other than Dimentio to come out and try one.

Olivia was the first to come out. "Oh! Those look so great! I'll grab one in a bit, I gotta go do something."

Grape wanted to stop her, but didn't.

She decided to bring them to the Folded Soldiers; Kenan, Blight, and Eddie. Eddie was a Goomba, Blight a Boo, and Kenan a Koopa Troopa. She gave Blight a ghost cookie, ignoring the fact that could be taken as insensitive and rude. Blight didn't seem to care, making Grape a tiny bit upset, but it didn't rattle her too much.

Grape felt her eye twitch again when she'd gotten slightly upset.

"Every time my magic does something odd, my eye twitches," she muttered to herself.

"What was that?" Eddie asked.

"Nothing. Enjoy the cookies!" Grape rested the plate against her dress as she watched them eat the sweets. "Well? What do you think? I tried baking them myself this time instead of leaving it to my Dark Baker. I tried one and I think it tasted fine."

"They're great!" Eddie said. "I'm sure Peach would love those!"

"Hey, I love the vine decorations in your hair," Blight said. "It fits the Halloween vibe."

"Vines? I didn't put any vines in my hair..." She touched her hair. "I don't feel anything. Perhaps I should check the mirror."

Kenan hiccupped. "Is it just me, or do you feel weird too?"

"Not just you," Eddie said. "I think you might need to double check that recipe!"

Grape backed up a bit. "Are you all alright? I swear I didn't do anything to the sweets this time."

They were engulfed with a puff of smoke. When it cleared, Eddie and Kenan were nowhere to be seen. Until she looked down, that is. She grabbed Eddie, now just a normal mushroom, and Kenan, now super small, and looked around in worry.

Blight looked at her hands. "It looks like I'm fine. I guess I didn't get any drawbacks from that since ghosts are already alive and dead anyways." She hiccupped and became covered in multi-colored polka dots. "Aah! I hate polka dots!" She flew away sobbing into her hands.

"Oh no, oh dear. What do I do with these two?"

She summoned a bottle and put the Koopa Troopa inside. She forced her power into it, making it increase in size, and put the mushroom inside as well. She looked around again. She spotted a drawer on the couch-side stand, and shoved the bottle inside just as somebody came into the room.

"Grape? What are you doing?"

She looked at see Olly, who was finally feeling better, standing in the doorway. "N-nothing!" She leaned on the stand, trying to look normal and unsuspicious.

Olly raised an eyebrow. "Move. That's my stand. It has my personal stuff in it, and I would rather you not look through it."

Grape rolled her eyes and moved away from the stand.

Olly opened it and Grape saw his mouth slowly open. He picked up the jar.

"Kenan? What happened to you?"

His voice was barely audible, he just squeaked and squawked. He realized Olly probably couldn't hear him, and pointed a hand at Grape. She gasped, pretending like she had no idea of the situation.

"How dare you accuse me! I would never do such a petty thing as this!"

Olly opened the jar and dumped Kenan out.

Kenan squeaked at him again, then just started scribbling down on a sheet of paper next to him. "Eddie is the mushroom. Grape's cookies did this. Blight is spotted."

Olly looked back up to Grape. "Grape I...I don't have the energy to deal with you right now. I know this is innocent, but things could get worse from here. Just...leave. Okay? You're trial's over. Go home. You're not welcome here anymore." He rubbed his temples.

Kenan wrote again. "Turn us back?"

"Ill find a way to undo this, since I know Grape won't."

"Why are you blaming me? I didn't do anything! I didn't enchant the cookies or anything! Why is this my fault?"

"Grape, there's no point in fighting me. I told you to leave already."

"Olly I-"

"Leave! Now! I knew I couldn't trust you! But Dimentio inSISTED that I give you another chance, so another chance I gave. Chance after chance after chance!" He pushed the stand over. "But I had a feeling I couldn't trust you, since I first met you! And looks like I was RIGHT! Get out! Now!"

Grape pulled her hand close to her. "But it wasn't my-"

"That wasn't a suggestion. I can't have you ruin the parade. It's tomorrow, and I can't lose everything because of you."

"I was just fine before I met you. You ruined my life!" Grape fled.

Olly scoffed. "Now, let's turn you all back to normal. I'll ask Dimentio for some help."

Grape slowed to a stop and looked around. A high hill overlooking the Mushroom Kingdom and Origami Kingdom border, the perfect spot to catch a break. She sat down and exhaled sharply.

"This is all his fault. I only found out about Rex after I met him. Why can't things go back to being perfect?"

She pulled out a hand held mirror and looked at her reflection. Her hair did, in fact, have vines in it, and they were intertwined with her hair, which had been fading to a pale deep green. She looked closer, spotting a small crack forming on the top of her mask on the left side. She touched the crack.

"When did that get there?"

Pettigrew ran up the hill to her and hopped into her lap.

"Oh, there you are." She reached for him but froze.

Olivia had made Grape carve pumpkins with her before. It was messy and gross, but Olivia enjoyed it so Grape had faked a smile and did it with her. The insides of the pumpkin was the worst part. It was cold, and felt like slime. The seeds were actually kind of good once Colored Pencils had been convinced to cook them.

Olivia called the inside of the pumpkin "pumpkin guts" since they had no better name for it.

Grape had said pumpkin "guts" on her fingers.

The two where she'd touched her mask.

She pulled out the mirror again, since she'd put it away when Pettigrew had ran up to her, and looked at her reflection again. Nothing seemed off. She assumed she was just loosing it now.

"This must be what Olly was talking about. I've finally lost my mind. I'm imagining things now. Maybe it was because I was thinking about pumpkins and..." She looked at her hand again.

It was still there.

Grape sighed and rested her face in her hand. She felt the cold of her hand on her mask and was then fully convinced she'd lost her marbles. She held out her hand to Pettigrew, and he started licking the pumpkin off her hand.

"Oh...Isn't it cannibalism that you only eat plants?" She pat his back with her other hand. "Perhaps I just need sleep..."

She lie down on the grass, staring at the stars above her.

"I remember last time I took to appreciate the sky...If only I could go back to that moment."

She reached up with her hand, thinking only of Tobias. Pettigrew curled up next to her and meowed again. He yawned, stretched, and fell asleep.

"I love you too, my dear."
