Summary AU!: Eighteen years ago, the wolf goddess, Lupa, adopted the demititan son of Atlas. Out of the five years, she adopted the clone of Superman. She raised the two as her own, turning them into something more. Something the world needs now more than never.

Day passed and night approached. The sky was clear, with not a single cloud in the sky. The moon shined brilliantly, giving Atsáli a micro dose of solar radiation. Not as powerful as a full sun bath, but close enough to fully heal after the events of today.

After being saved by the legion, the Viribus was given proper medical attention.

Reluctant proper medical attention, Atsáli might add. On both ends. Nobody ever looked see the his brother unless they need him, which pissed him off greatly.

And Viribus, the prideful bastard won't admit where he needed to be treated.

He heals pretty quickly from minor stuff, but Viribus hasn't been able to sleep for the last few days. And he can go days without sleeping before feeling something.

But it's not just that. It's the way they were looking at him? They've seen his face before. Despite it being a few years and he may have a new scar on his left temple, he didn't look any different than the day he left his pod.

Physically, he was 18 years old. But chronologically, he was only six. They were making him uncomfortable, looking at him as if he were a specimen. He could tell they were trying to look for something.

Normally he'd tell them off, but he's been feeling nauseous ever since that son of Hades pulled him into his own shadow.

"Don't mind their stares" a voice called out from the side of his bed. He looked to see a young man with blonde hair sitting in a chair.

"They're still trying to figure out who's your demigod parent is" he says as he scoots closer. The doctors seemed to back off as he got closer.

"I'm Will, son of Apollo. I'll be your doctor while your in New Rome"

He held his hand out to shake it, and Atsáli shook it hesitantly. He knew that as long as he was in the camp, he wouldn't have to worry about enemies. Maybe it has been a while since he spoke to another human being aside from his pack.

"Atsáli" he greets back, "I don't think we've ever met"

"No, but I've met your brother" Will says, "he seems pretty chill when he's not...ya know..."

"Stoic?" Atsáli asks with a small smile. Will nods his head, "Yeah. He's pretty funny too. Even made my partner laugh, and he never laughs. Unless you're bleeding. Or in pain"

"Sounds like my brother" Atsáli chuckles. Will smiles before continuing, "How are you feeling by the way? You look pale? Shadow travel?"

"Is that what it's called? Then yeah" the super clone says, "I feel drained. More drained than I felt after the battle in Metropolis"

"Yeah, shadow tends to do have that effect on first time users" Will says looking at a nearby doctor and patient, "but not to the point of- wait you were there?"

This time Will spoke in a hush as he turned to face the super clone. Atsáli nods his head with his eyes closed, remembering the cries of billions of people from thousands of worlds.

"Yeah. I was there"

"T-then that means Viribus was-"

"He faced the dark god head on" Atsáli says, "but we're not planning on telling anyone. Until tomorrow"

"Is that why you're here?" Will asked before his eyes widened, "are you what caused that surge last night?"

"Surge? Maybe? But we'll explain more tomorrow, but for now, let's keep it under wraps, please?"

Will nods his head respectfully and silence fell over them briefly. It seemed almost awkward and Atsáli felt as if he should leave.

But that was until Will handed him a lollipop. He looks at the son of Apollo who shrugs, "Good for low blood pressure"

Atsáli shrugs and takes it. Will fiddles with his necklace before asking, "Atsáli...I can tell you don't have a godly parent, but I've seen and heard what you can do. You're a being of a miracle, I can feel it...but I can't tell which one"

Resentment started to build up in Atsáli's chest at the mention of a parent, but Will was quick to interject, "And I'm only asking so that I can figure out how to help you. This feeling of yours isn't normal. Especially for a child of the Sun"

Atsáli looks at the doctor's knowing look on his face in shock. To his knowledge, not many mortals knew that he was the illegitimate son of Superman. Let alone his clone.

It was a strict need to know basis.

"Do you-"

"I can only see the sun, shining brightly within you" Will says, "that doesn't mean I know who your parent is"

"...I need sunlight. Like a days worth"

"Is that it? I can do that"

"Wait, wha-"

Without another word, Will stuck his hand out and Atsáli was engulfed in a brilliant flash. Two seconds later, Atsáli felt good as new. His fatigue was gone and his bruises were 100% healed.

"Feel better?" Will asked, wiping his brow, "I meant to give you only a small ounce, but you nearly drained half my power. Jerk"

"I-I'm so sorry" Atsáli says as he leapt out of bed and was by Will's side in less than a second. Even the aches from the Battle of Metropolis were gone.

"It was a a joke" Will laughs, "they weren't kidding when they said the guy's a solar battery"

"Yeah, it appears so" he says as he looks around the room. Although eyes were on them, nobody seemed phased.

"They probably think you're another son of Apollo. But where I'm from, we'd normally start partying"

"Sounds fun. But after the battle, I'm sure these guys haven't slept in days"

"True, true" Will says, "well you seem fine now. You're free to leave whenever you like. I've got five other patients to check on, and I'm sure you need to check on your brother"

"Pretty sure he's training rather than resting, but I'm sure he'll be out for the rest of the day once that's over"

"Can I stay?" Atsáli asks, shocking Will and even himself. "I've never had much medical training. Sure, I was...taught the basics, but I've never had actual field work. Never needed it honestly"

Will smiles and nods, "Sure. And who better to teach you than the best field medic of the Greek Pantheon?"

Scoffs and boos were heard around the room, earning a laugh out of Will. Atsáli couldn't help but laugh along with them.

Reyna was walking along the walls of her city, her loyal companions Aurum and Argentum by her side. She had her headphones in her ear, gazing up at the ever improving architecture of her home.

She would have to call Annabeth and talk shop soon, but she hasn't time recently. She's been busy running the city and fighting battle after battle nonstop since the last time they spoke. And not to mention, her people are in an uproar to know why the gods weren't responding to aliens falling from the sky.

She hasn't even told her or Percy about Jason. And that wasn't even the worst part.

And not to mention, her ex was back in town.

'Oh joy' she thought as Whistle by Flo Rida blasted in her ears, the wind grazing through her hair. Coincidentally, her beautiful brown eyes locked onto the son of Atlas. She almost stepped on Argentum as she was caught off guard by his deep gaze.

He was standing by a carriage filled with...the corpses of the dead aliens, talking to a few son of Vulcan. He smiles and nods his head before going back to the conversation with them.

Reyna whistles a tune for Argentum, the silver dog looking back. She nods her head to the demititan, and the dog makes its way over to him.

She walks away without saying a word, tapping her left headphone lightly, establishing a Bluetooth connection between her and her dog.

"...want us...what exactly?"

"Strip the armor from the aliens' remains" Viribus says, "their plates are hard. Harder than celestial bronze and imperial gold. They can harm gods and mortals alike"

"Now, that's the part I don't believe" a son of Vulcan says, "if you had said monsters, I would've been sold. But I'm not buying it"

"I've seen it first hand. Felt it first hand" Viribus said. He sounded like he was in pain.

'By the gods, he was there' Reyna realized in shock, coming to a halt once more.

"Well still, it's not a bad idea" another son of Vulcan commented, "wouldn't be heavily reliant on it though. You don't even have enough to supply a whole legion."

"Not yet. But there is enough in Washington to supply at least four"

"Good luck finding a crew to send stuff like that down here. Pretty sure clean up crew would've gotten their hands on it"

"Fair point"

There was a brief pause of silence, giving Reyna time to think about what she was hearing. What Viribus was proposing for was...dangerously interesting.

Stripping aliens of parts and use it to our advantage. It's brilliant, but too advanced for even our resources. Besides, they had magic.

But not only that, it was war tactic. What was he preparing for?

"...you were there? On the front with Superman and Batman?"

"...Where?"

"At the Battle of Metropolis?"

"What battle?"

The sons of Vulcan had mixed reactions, some their heads and scoffed, muttering under their breaths as they took the cart. Some stayed and bombarded Viribus with questions, Reyna couldn't make out a word out. She scoffs and disconnected from Argentum before whistling for him to return.

Now her interest was peaked, but her break was over. She needed to finish her work by sunset if she wanted to make time to learn more about this plan her ex was conducting.

Somewhere in an abandoned town in Alaska, a young boy sat on a bench along a river bed reading a book, whistling along to Whistle by Flo Rida on the small radio by his side. On top of it was a fishing kit and a spear by his side.

The demititan looked out onto the clear water and felt peace wash over him. Here he was, in the land where the gods' powers couldn't touch them.

Of course, that didn't mean that there weren't monsters still lurking around, but they weren't getting passed the enchanted barrier he made.

Besides, they knew to keep their distance.

Quiet footsteps approach him, but he didn't bother to look over his shoulder. Warm, strong arms wrapped around him and he was encased with the familiar aroma of chocolate and roses.

"Caught anything today?" Reyna asks, nuzzling into his neck, her breath making him chuckle. "You know I never do"

"No. But there was that one time" Reyna says as she leapt over the bench to sit next to him.

"Oh really?"

"Of course. There was bound to be at least one time. Besides, I bought burritos just in case"

"You're not funny" he says wrapping an arm around the young daughter of Bellona. They enjoyed each others warmth in silence as Viribus continued to whistle along to the song.

"When are you gonna teach me how to whistle?" Reyna asks, looking directly into his soul through his cold gray eyes.

They weren't storm grey like the daughter of Athena's, but they were darker, just a shade away from black. Cold and calculating. Alert and aware of everything. They were intimidating at first glance.

But once you get past that, one could see a light- a silver ember burning brilliantly and swaying within the massive cavern. The more you look, the more enticed you were to be lured by it.

Viribus gives a smile that shows off his sharp canines and grabs her left hand with his, "Haven't you been listening to the song?"

Before she could comment, Viribus cut her off by singing along to the song in perfect harmony as it came to an end.

Girl I'm gonna show you how to do it

And we start real slow

Viribus raised her hand and pressed his lightly scarred lips against her calloused scarred hand, not taking his eyes off her.

You just put your lips together

And you come real close

He closes his eyes to leaves small kisses upon each scar, warmth spreads throughout out her body. No man or woman has stirred this kind of feeling in her core. It excited her, but also scared her at the same time.

Can you blow my whistle baby, whistle baby

"Here we go" They both finish looking deep within each other's eyes. Their faces inches from one another, with the light of the sun shining down upon them.
