It was just after midnight when Zoe finally came out of her shock. She found herself snuggled in Marinette's bed, her girlfriend holding her and gently rubbing her back.

"I'm so sorry, love. How long was I catatonic?"
Marinette give her a smile and kissed her cheek. "Most of the day. I've been talking to you the entire time, hoping you would come out of it."

Zoe nodded. "Sorry, just learning that the movie was gone, all our hard work over the last year was gone, it hit me pretty hard."

Marinette nodded. "I understand, Zoe. In fact, I suspected that when your siblings came visiting, that this might be a possibility. Our best guess is they had a bomb of some sort in Chloe's room. Chloe and I moved your movie a couple days ago. It and all its associated files are now safely tucked away with Master Su-han. I promised him a seat at the Premier, in exchange for hiding them though."

Zoe felt like lead shoes had been taken off her feet and her heart soared. "I don't care if you promised him six seats and free concessions!" She exclaimed. "Just thank you for thinking ahead." She kissed her girlfriend repeatedly.

Marinette giggled and then pulled her into a proper kiss. Zoe got lost in that for some time. After they were done, she laid her head on her partner's shoulder.

"Did you already tell Andre?"

Marinette nodded. "I wanted to tell you both, but Chloe insisted that if there was not a genuine reaction to the film being gone, Zara and Zade wouldn't buy the bait. We didn't want to risk your father figuring out so soon he doesn't have the real movie and papers after all."

Zoe nodded. "I could have acted like I was in shock, but it was better for Andre that he finds out as it happened. And our combined real shock likely sold the deception. Still, it really hurt."

She buried her head in Marinette's shoulder. "I know, I'm really sorry Zo."
Zoe shook her head. "You have nothing to be sorry about, my love. Sisterhood is safe." She felt her stomach growl as she yawned. "Any chance of something light to eat before bed?"
Marinette kissed her on the cheek. "Maman is likely still up waiting to hear you need feeding. I'll be back."
*Zoenette-October*

Zoe went with Chloe to check on Andre. He had been told the day before while Zoe was still catatonic about the swap, but she was still worried about him. Marinette had transformed and was combing the area around the hotel with whatever hero was available.

Zoe saw Ladybug, Polymouse, Roosterbolt, and Rena Rogue separating from the hotel and going in different directions. She saw Carapace standing on top of the building, arms crossed. He waved though as the two girls entered the hotel.

Andre was doing a stack of paperwork, sighing at the contents.

"There was some quite expensive clothing in that lot they destroyed." He fretted as they girls approached him.

"Well, maybe this is a blessing in disguise." Chloe admitted. "I was thinking of changing over to a more financially responsible wardrobe anyways."

Andre smiled up at the girls, looking both in the eyes. "That would help, Chloe darling. Zoe, are you feeling better?"

Zoe nodded and gave her stepfather a smile. "Yes, much better. Marinette told me about the switch."
Andre frowned. "Yes, well I do appreciate your foresight on that one, Chloe. Still, it makes my blood boil that they can just march into my home and think they can take whatever they want."

Zoe put an arm on his shoulder, which made him calm down. "Marinette said she has some tricks up her sleeves she has used on her own room that she wants to use on the hotel. Just with such a bigger location she needs more time to prepare."

Chloe nodded. "Makes sense. Her room is big but not as big as one suite in this hotel after all."

Andre picked up the papers and put them in a drawer. "What do you girls say to a family lunch? Just the three of us?"

Zoe smiled, warmth blooming in her chest. She could not express how grateful she was to be included. "Thank you, that sounds lovely, Andre."

Chloe kissed her father on the cheek. "Works for me as well. Come on, let's go see what Alya's mother has cooked up today."

Zoe smirked and nudged her sibling. "I'm going to tell Alya you like her mother's cooking."
"Don't you dare!"

Ladybug sighed as the heroes all returned to the roof of the hotel. Two hours of searching from the rooftops and not a sight of the twins. The police were also on the look out for them as well.

"We'll get them." Viperion said, appearing from the shadows. "It's just a matter of time."

A portal opened and Bunnyx stuck her head out. "I hate when you make that joke." The bunny hero went back into the portal again which closed.

Ladybug nodded. "I need to also address the situation with Adrein and Kagami. I'm going to speak to Tomoe. In the meantime, no one is to go it alone. Work in pairs, use the buddy system even in civilian from. There is a chance they have been researching Zoe's friends and might target any of us. Any activity is to be reported to myself or Chat."

The heroes nodded and took their leave from the hotel. Ladybug dropped her transformation and went downstairs. Chloe was waiting for her just inside the stairwell.

"I'm coming with you, at least to the house. You really shouldn't be alone right now. After all, you would be their prime target to get to my sister."

Marinette smiled and clapped Chloe on the shoulder. "Thanks, Chloe. I mean, I would love to have them come and try to corner me, just to give them a taste of my martial arts, but I'm glad to know you're thinking about Zoe and me.

Chloe rolled her eyes. "Don't get used to it, Dupain-Cheng."

The twins cursed as they saw Marinette and Chloe walking down an alley together. They had been waiting, hoping to see Marinette alone. They retreated, sure that once their ace was played, Zoe would surrender to them without a fight anyways.

A/N: I hope this brings some relief from yesterday's cliffhanger lol. See you tomorrow!
