Hello everyone! Welcome back to another chapter of The Blond Beast.

Last time we left off, Blake was going through some issues with her sleep, what with the stress of the White Fang and what they could be doing, along with what kind of criminal acts they will cause thanks to being under a temporary partnership with our favorite hatted villain that is roaming the streets of Vale.

Not to mention a certain Red Bull graded asshole has been haunting her nightmares for quiet some time... Hopefully she'll have some shut eye come to her.

But she's not the only one that's been losing sleep.

Enough of my prattling, let's get this story started!

Thoughts and flashback are in Italics.

Bold for louder talking and shouting, or ending certain silences. Plus they are for music cues and locations.

Chapter 2: Insomnia Issues

Mornings were an absolute pain in the butt for one Jaune Arc nowadays. Especially Monday school mornings.

If Jaune was being honest right now... the weekend flew by waaaaay to quickly in his honest opinion, he really wanted to do more things while he had that time off, but there was never enough time in the day.

Read the newest number of X-Ray and Vav, maybe go into town and hang out with all of his friends, or how about look into using some dust next time to spice up his battle strategies. Hell he could of even started to play a new game that had just came out on the scroll. A brand new sword fighting game where you fight as an armored knight against the forces of the Grimm and as you go along and raise in levels you have to defeat the Grimm God Knight at the end of the game that is supposed to be immortal.

He recalled that the game was called Eternity Blade or something, but he recalled from some of the reviews and people on the internet that the game was highly rated as one of the best games out there to play on the scrolls.

So yeah... He could of been doing any of those activities during the weekend, living it up in total bliss by himself or with his pals to spend time to doing whatever he wanted.

But recently... he's been wanting to do one thing ever since a certain 'incident' happened recently in his life here at Beacon Academy, something that has been in short supply for Jaune and is desperately in high demand that he wanted to do.

Jaune wanted sleep... the need for sleep was paramount to the blond right now. As he slowly looked around at all the other students in the large cafeteria, multiple plates full of delicious smelling breakfast items, their scent swirling around his sensitive nose in a miasma of food goodness. The various perfectly cooked salted meats like crispy bacon and ham, to the fresh smell of battered pancakes mixed with fresh smelling fruits that were mixed into the fluffy floured item.

That was one of the best things about being here at Beacon. It seems that Ozpin and the staff had gourmet chefs and cooks here that could accommodate to all kinds of appetites.

Most likely that had to do with all of the funding the civilians population and the Valean council's funding to this prestigious Huntsmen academy. Jaune and the next generation of huntsmen and huntresses had the privilege to almost any kind of food item money could buy, all thanks to these wonderful workers that made them these glorious food items.

Breakfast in particular was definitely a smorgasbord of delicious food items, as Remnant's future protectors were spoiled for choice when it came to their choices: eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, you named it, the Beacon cafeteria had it. Jaune swore he even saw a waffle making station and an omelet creation zone thanks to the chefs that worked here. There was a plethora of drinking items like coffee, milk, smoothies, and all kinds of juices freshly made for them to choose from.

If Jaune was in the right mind and body, he definitely would be loading up with a proper hearty breakfast for himself.

But for today Jaune wasn't really feeling hungry for now, so he decided to want some good old cereal to start the morning.

The knight rubbed the tiredness out of his eyes as he couldn't help the yawn that left his lips as he was starting this slow Monday morning in the cafeteria. Looking down at the bowl Honey Nut Oats that he was currently eating with some milk, he decided to play with the sweet rings currently.

Trying to go off in his own little world as the realm of dreams eluded him, his whole living body awake, but his mind and eyes were almost playing tricks with him as his body was barely holding it together as the eyelids closed half shut.

His ears were barely listening the chatter of noise at the shared table, Jaune at least knew someone was talking. He most likely assumed it was his usual storyteller of his team Nora Valkyrie, talking away to the rest of the occupants at the table. He noticed everyone else and looked to see what the others were eating.

Weiss had an steaming hot cup of coffee, a light brown to show that had plenty of creamer to add some flavor to her hot beverage and accompanying the sweet caffeine is a some vanilla scones and a blueberry muffin.

Yang loaded up her plate with the works, a bunch of scrambled eggs, hearty morning potatoes and some a lot of meat options in sausage links and bacon to pile off her generous looking breakfast with a tall glass of orange juice.

Ruby had an... interesting choice of food, Jaune didn't know that breakfast pizza was a thing at all, yet it had some kind of meat and apparently the little reaper girl added strawberries to the mix? Along with a glass of milk to start her day.

Weiss and Yang were looking at their leader's... questionable choice of breakfast with some scrutiny.

Ah well... as long as the girl liked it in the end.

While Nora obviously had a big stack of pancakes on her plate with tons of butter and lots of syrup, Ren and Pyrrha usually staying on the more healthy side of it all with Pyrrha having an omelet with some pieces of ham and veggies, with a fruit cup on the side chalk full of grapes, pineapple, and all sorts of other fruits. While Ren chose some hot cinnamon oatmeal with some blueberries for some flavor, and unfortunately to Jaune and to everyone else around him that knew him his... green health shake made of Oum knows what was with the martial artist.

Seriously... what was in that abomination of a smoothie.

But regardless of Ren's drink choices...Team RWBY and the rest of his team were just hearing Nora and what she had to say. A whole pancake on her fork as she stuffed it in her mouth whole.

"Swoo... Mer and Rwenny were..." The ginger bomber letting out small crumbles of pancake hit the nearest person when she was talking with her mouth full. "Ghoing twrow the fworest own dway..." Nora tried to explain with chunks of pancake in her mouth.

Which led to some crumbs and a little spittle coming out of mouth.

Hitting one disgusted Weiss Schnee in her face being the unfortunate recipient of the pancake spittle attack that the Valkyrie girl gave her.

If this were some kind of RPG kind of game the flying food from Nora's mouth would do some damage as Weiss was left squawking in surprise.

Of course the Heiress had some scathing words towards the N of JNPR after the disgusted shock. "Ugh! Nora! Do you have no decent table manners?" Weiss's eyebrow twitching, as her hand gripped into a tight fist, icy blue eyes narrowing at the offending girl like focused laser beams. Her other hand cleaning away the mess that was made on her face. While Ruby and Yang were a little disgusted from what happened to Weiss, they couldn't help but silently laugh at the situation that Weiss was put in.

But Weiss was ready to throttle Ms. Valkyrie for her unsavory habit.

"Ey? Waw That's..." Nora tried to say, spraying even more pancake crumbs and saliva mix towards Weiss, her ire growing even further and the sister duo still enjoying the funny show at the ice princess's expense.

While Ruby could hold in, albeit barely as her cheeks started to redden and holding in the laughter.

Yang did not have that kind of restraint.

"Hahahahaha!" Yang couldn't help the laugh that bubbled in her throat coming out now. "Well Weiss Cream at least you got some moisture for your dry looking pastries down there." She dared to look down to see that the obnoxious brawler was correct, as some saliva got onto her scones. The girl couldn't help but grit her teeth in frustration.

"Shut up!" She squawked over at Yang, quickly getting up and taking her now 'decorated' breakfast items, planning on throwing them away to get some new ones. "At least I won't get fat with all of the needless fats and carbs your consuming, I wouldn't be surprise if you didn't become fatter than a Boarbatusk if you continue the way you eat!" The snooty girl said walking away.

"Oh your right about something getting fat Weissy." Yang grabbed her chest in emphasis. "But I think the things that are gonna get fat are something you ain't gonna get." Bouncing her large breasts in a taunt as the girl could only growl and make a final 'hmmph' before getting her breakfast items once more.

"Nora." The deadpan voice of her partner Ren said, facepalming on his best friend being clueless.

"Ywesss Rweny?" She turned her head to look at her friend that she had been together forever with since they were small kids.

But not together-together like that...

The resulting response from Nora got some of the pancake leftovers on himself as well. "Please... Don't talk while your mouth is full." With that said, Nora only nodded and complied. Finishing the rest of that giant pancake after chewing for a few more seconds, swallowing the rest of the delicious breakfast disc made of batter and syrupy goodness.

"Whooo... amazing as always." Nora patting her stomach from the godly gift. "Now as I was saying..."

Jaune continued to just look down at his cereal bowl, tuning out Nora as he looked deep in thought. His situation felt dire to him as he continued to try and find something that could help his issue.

That issue... which was control of his 'dormant' Semblance.

He'd say dormant, but in all actuality... that wasn't really the full truth, as the Arc lad has been dealing with control issues in his Semblance ever since he got his Aura reestablished thanks to Pyrrha.

So when Jaune actually talked to Pyrrha about his lack of Aura... he was actually lying about not knowing, as his aura had already been unlocked before.

How and why it was unlocked however... was something that he could never really comfortable with as it involved some major family issues with his old man, and most importantly about his hidden family lineage of being part of the Arc clan.

'THAT... Is something I want no one to figure out.' He felt bad for lying to Pyrrha, Jaune wanted to come clean to someone about this Semblance secret. He wanted to tell Pyrrha, hell he wanted to tell Ruby. It made him so frustrated that he couldn't tell the one person he could trust the most in his life throughout these four years or his best friend that he knew he always could confide in.

He was just so close to telling them, the pressure of keeping secrets from them almost becoming too much for him, the prospect of trusting someone with this dark secret just made him wanted to blurt it out to the entire world.

But... he just couldn't.

It was too risky in his opinion, the Grimm are already trouble enough. If one of his friends gets sucked into his family problems, Oum forbids if it was his partner of all people.

He would be the one responsible for what would be brought upon them, whether it be Pyrrha, Ruby, or anyone of his friends he wanted to tell that would listen to his plight.

And he would rather risk his own life then have his friends get into his family problems.

Conflicting thoughts swarmed in his mind to what happened on Friday and the weekends after that. He wondered if their were some books that he missed when he was exploring the library late at night, he sure as hell didn't get any sleep after that all night training that was for sure, and Jaune didn't feel any closer to feeling in control of his Semblance.

His sudden change in behavior will be found out eventually, and then his team will want answers for these late night outings that

"Jaune..." After a couple of seconds, he looked to his right to see Pyrrha, her face full of worry.

"Huh?"

"Are you alright?" Pyrrha asked, as everyone else was still listening to Nora, the red haired Mistralian fighter wanted to check up on what was up with him. As she noticed

"You don't look too good."

Well... crap guess he got onto his partner's radar now. Maybe because of how he had been acting these past couple of days.

Or maybe cause she noticed him look just dead tired.

'Guess I'm making her worry...' Jaune couldn't stand that. He never wanted to make his burden's the team's problem. It was just...

If it was personal to him then he needed to deal with that issue like the responsible adult that he was, as an Arc male should.

Even if it might be something beyond his control...

"Yeah! I'm doing just great Pyr." The blond tried to reassure his partner.

"You sure?" Pyrrha giving him a once over, seeing the bags under his eyes. "Did you get any sleep last night?"

"Y-Yeah... of course I did. What make's you say otherwise?"

"Well do you want the example of me snapping my fingers in your face only for you to just not respond or that I was able to catch your upper body from faceplanting into your breakfast cereal a couple of minutes ago?" Pyrrha pointed out.

"Hehe..." Jaune couldn't help but be embarrassed about it all. If he was being honest with himself she was right, sleep was a must right now, and he couldn't afford to stay awake these late nights.

'Even if I wanted conk out its not going to change my... issue at hand. I'll just be dead tired either way.'

"Jau..." He heard, but still couldn't or most likely didn't hear his partner. Honestly he wished their was someway he could fix this issue, but none of the books that he had researched a few nights ago helped at all.

All he knew was that he needed to control this... beast that he has inside of him.

Before someone gets hurt.

Or worse...

"Jaune!" He finally stopped daydreaming as Pyrrha shook his shoulder with some force, bringing him back out of his little thought process.

"Huh? Wha?"

"Well?" She asked as she waited for his response.

"Yeah... of course I did." Jaune couldn't hide the huge yawn coming out, as he put his hand to his open mouth. "Got so much sleep that I feel like... a million lien."

Pyrrha knew that was huge lie. "Jaune I'm serious. Did you really get any sleep?" His partner switching to 'parental mode', trying to get the blond to fess up and tell her the truth.

Jaune like to see Pyrrha like this. Giving him worried looks and frowning at him to show that was concerned for him.

Jaune just shook his head as his blue eyes tries to focus on his red haired teammate. Before sighing out in defeat.

He couldn't hide every piece of info from his partner, not after already not telling her about his fake transcript. Because she had pry that out of him after the whole Forever Falls deal with Cardin and his mindless bullying.

But this? His deep dark secret?

As much as it pains him to do this to Pyrrha he'll have to keep that under lock and key for now.

He doesn't need someone on his trail like this. Especially while trying to research or find a way to control... certain instincts.

He was lucky enough he didn't run into Blake earlier that night in the library.

Oum forbid if she saw him after he left the library, he probably would traumatized her with his hidden 'curse'.

That would have been an absolute clusterfuck to not only explain to someone who doesn't understand anything about the situation, but to try and steer clear from hurting them in the process.

"Yes Pyrrha I was up pretty late these past couple of days..." He admitted. "I was... was studying for this weeks next subjects so I can get ahead." He lied.

Well... he slightly fibbed a little there.

But! It did have to do with some studying in the library, just not the subject of Faunus history locations and notable battlegrounds.

But it was still research that was very important!

After a couple of seconds and looking at Pyrrha's face which was skeptical from his explanation. The girl finally just sighed out and smiled towards the blond.

"Jaune why didn't you just tell me about? I could of helped you out in your studies instead of you staying up late all this weekend."

This was going to hurt his heart for telling this to Pyrrha, but while this was kind of lying to her, Jaune couldn't help the spark truth he felt when he said these next words.

"I... I just wanted to do something on my own you know." He admitted that while that was a stubborn way of thinking, the knight wanted to fix things by himself without his team.

While he has known to use aura way back when he was growing up, he still struggled with using the fundamentals of aura and was very volatile when he had no semblance of control when it came to using aura. Jaune could blame his lack of control thanks to his father not teaching the proper way to use something as dangerous as aura.

But it didn't matter now... all thanks to the first curse transformation.

It was when Jaune was ten years old... that fateful July night happened all those years ago, he felt the power of his 'semblance' and how the intoxicating it felt to be that strong.

But with that power... came his change...

A change that could of turned the situation drastic if his father didn't stop him, the fact that he was literally a danger to everyone else around him: His mother, father, and all of his older and younger siblings.

He... he could of killed them and he wasn't even aware of it.

Jaune that day felt a dreadful amount of guilt, he couldn't help but be sorry as he almost tried to take his own families lives.

After that frightening ordeal, the choice of being a great Huntsmen was taken from him when his father decided to seal his Aura away once more thanks to a relocking chant, putting the person who had their aura unlocked back to their resealed form.

By the end of that night Nicholas Arc locked away his power deep within his body, keeping the curse deep under seal so that would not harm anyone again with this cursed power.

"You are forbidden to walk this earth with that form! Never again will I hear this talk of becoming a Huntsmen!" Those words stung him to his core when he heard his father say them to him, his own son. "If you cannot control what lies in your soul... How are you going to protect those around you!"

Jaune's guilt quickly turned to anger that day, denying his father's claim and wanting to try again to become a protector to those all around him like his ancestors. But his father would not budge on the matter, especially with unlocking his aura.

After that day, Jaune's demeanor towards his father was spiteful. While the boy could admit that the form he showed that night was out of control, he knew that if his father gave him another chance he could try and control his aura, maybe even with enough work he could try and tame the curse.

But as seven years past...Every time he looked towards the man he couldn't help but flare up in anger and contempt. He had been denied the chance to have his aura reawakened thanks to him, as his mother and sisters looked on in concern as they saw the goofy brother/son they knew and love become more distant towards the patriarch of the family.

It was because of that hatred that years later Jaune decided to be stubborn and make the decision for himself that would change his life, and would go against what his father's wishes when the time he became seventeen.

That day Jaune ran away from the town of Ansel and went to Vale to pursue his dream, and in hand was his family heirloom of Crocea Mors as he was able to take the old sword and shield before he had went toward the academy of his dreams.

And now... here he was, living the dream as he was now part of team and becoming a Huntsmen before his very eyes.

But of course it wasn't all sunshine and rainbows here...

Even though he was little rusty as he had gotten his aura reawakened once more, he still struggled to pull his full potential out. Along with his mediocre fighting skills he was a complete mess at the beginning of the year. Trying to become a full fledged Huntsmen felt almost impossible months ago as he felt like the dead weight of the team.

That had long since changed when Pyrrha and the rest of his friends were told that he faked his transcripts.

Of course he told Pyrrha first on that night on the rooftop... It definitely felt stressful to him that had to admit that he didn't have combat training, but it just felt right to him to tell this secret to her and with her encouraging words and with Jaune's more heart on the sleeve nature, he felt like he could take another plunge and tell not just Pyrrha about his faked transcripts.

But his teammates and friends as well.

Jaune just... didn't want to keep all these secrets hidden away from his friends, if he continued to hold them all in it would just... eat him up inside.

Luckily the time came when Team RWBY were still reeling from the whole incident with the White Fang at the docks. His team and Team RWBY were just relaxing that day to try and calm themselves down and have just chill weekend after the fiasco they went through.

When the blond knight made the announcement to all of them... he was definitely nervous as all hell.

At first most of them had to process this revelation, he wouldn't be surprised if they decided to tell the headmaster about him, someone that didn't have the proper skills to become a Huntsmen, a cheater that lied his way through an advanced academy like Beacon.

Its almost like he didn't belong, that this crazy blond teen that had no experience could get others killed or worse!

But surprising to teen, most of his friends reacted with no disdain or venom, but of positive feelings like Nora bragging about her leader being in her words... 'Ultra Fearless', Ruby and Pyrrha being extremely proud of him, or some of the others in which they were mostly neutral about the whole ordeal. Which was definitely a huge burden off of his shoulders.

Then after all of that, his team and most of Team RWBY decided they wanted to help him out to become a better fighter.

Jaune and Pyrrha started private sparring at night to work on his technique and footwork. Ruby helped out with not only fighting super fast opponents but also gave him advice when it came to taking on people with a longer range then him.

Nora tortu- trained him on his muscle gain when it came to weight training, with Yang also tagging in to help somedays, plus some CQC and boxing sparring to help strengthen his skills in case he loses his sword in a fight.

But he just thought Yang just wanted a free punching in his opinion with how may times the blond beauty wailed on him during those sessions.

Though he did learn a lot from her and appreciated her help, albeit with some bruises and bumps for his troubles.

Ren and Blake, the two stealthy ones of the team helped with different issues. While the assistance was less than the others, the raven haired girl gave him some pointers on some swordplay and when it came to fighting styles and Aura control, Ren walked him through how to channel his aura like a flow, and calmly distribute it through his body.

With almost everybody pitching in, Jaune was starting to see the leaps and bounds he has made as a fighter.

On how he could finally see himself as a respectable Huntsmen, all thanks to his pals help.

What did he do to deserve friends like these?

But... of course their were always mental issues that Jaune had.

Which caused him to gain a sort of... inferiority complex that Pyrrha had started to see rear its ugly head.

"Jaune we've talked about this." Pyrrha said.

"Look, I know we have. I appreciate you trying to help me Pyrrha, I really do." He looked up into her green eyes, blue orbs looking tired but his face still had a small smile. "But I want to show you guys that as a leader, as your leader... that I can handle the tough stuff when it gets thrown at me."

"Because trust me as a leader it won't get any easier for me and I need to be ready to lead you guys into battle and be ready for anything that is thrown at our team."

"But..." The red haired girl tried to retort.

"Even if it is just studying." He said, knowing what she might say. "I need to be on top of it for you guys. That includes pulling my own weight when I need to for the team. Can you trust me with that? Please?" Jaune pleaded with her, hoping that she would take his convincing statement.

If not... then he was going to have to think of something else to keep her from worrying and getting into secret.

Pyrrha's worried look was there for a few seconds, before she sighed in defeat and her frown turned into a good natured smile. "Alright Jaune... you win. I won't pry into your private studying."

Already that felt like a weight lifted off his shoulders. "Thanks Pyr. Don't worry about me, I can handle this."

"All I ask is that you get some proper sleep when you need to ok?" She said softly. "I don't want you getting in trouble with the professors if you get caught dozing off."

The blond nodded his head. "You got it partner. I need to catch up on some sleep and I promise today I will." Jaune said, with that said his tired eyes scanned the table, seeing that Ruby and Yang were listening to Nora story with some attention, with Weiss getting back to her morning coffee trying to ignore Nora's preposterous claims of trying her and Ren taking down a King Taijtu to make a expensive Lucas Vitron handbag out of its skin when they slain the creature.

Ren as per usual was fact checking the ginger girl and telling the others the actual truth of their fight against two Creeps.

However... when he turned to the final member of the table he looked a little concerned.

Blake Belladonna looked exhausted from what he noticed, similar to his state currently. Her head was down on the table, with her face planted into a book that she had been reading.

'Though I don't know how she'd read a book like that...' Jaune humorous thoughts rang, before seeing the raven haired girl slowly bring her head up. Jaune noticed that their were bags under her eyes as well and a little scowl across her face to show her irritation right now. Seems she didn't get any sleep either as she half heartly took a bite of her salmon stuffed omelet.

Jaune continued to look at the exhausted looking cat faunus girl. His mind started to become concerned as he for some reason felt weary about the raven haired girl for some reason.

He recalled Friday night when he bumped into her at the library in the late of evening. The knight wondered if why she would be so tired now, or why she wasn't getting any sleep it looked like. His curiosity was starting to get to hum now, as he was starting to speculate why she was feeling this way or perhaps why she was so tired.

His thoughts took him back to Friday late last night in the library, the faunus girl telling him that she was only there to read a new book and that she usually wanted some peace and quiet. But the problem with that thought was that Blake said she needed to go to sleep right after she departed from the library.

Curiosity turned into a slight panic as Jaune was starting to assume the worst.

Did... Did she somehow see him in the library when he was fighting his... instincts?

'No... I-I don't think she did. If Blake did, then she would of probably tried to question me in private about the whole thing.' Blake wouldn't try to make this public, he knew that she had her own secrets that she held and that the girl was decent at keeping personal stuff close to her chest.

He just hoped that if she see the issue he was going through, that she knew not to talk about business that isn't her own.

Because if word got out around the academy about his secret... he just knew that both him and Blake would be in a world of trouble.

Jaune just hoped that she would be tight lipped about this until he could at least gain some control.

"Whoa! Where did the time go?" Nora exclaimed as they checked the clock that read 7:50 AM on the hands, everyone started to toss their trash into the disposal and set their trays on top.

"Come on Jaune. We all got Port's class first today and we need to be ready for anything." Pyrrha said.

"Tch. Yeah, like how he'll say that he'd defeated a Deathstalker with a nutcracker and ate the meat in its claws." Yang joked, obviously mocking the unbelievable stories he cooked up.

"Aw come on Yang, some of them are pretty cool." Ruby said defending their odd teacher. While at first he was a bit of a weirdo in her opinion, the older Huntsmen really knew how to spin a story.

"If by 'cool' you mean absolutely absurd." Weiss putting her two cents in. Walking along with the Patch sisters.

The noise of her teammates woke Blake up from her little make out session with her book as she stretched her arms out and let out a big yawn.

Jaune noticed her rub the sleep out of her eyes as her usual pretty yellow eyes still looked droopy.

'Guess I wasn't the only one that didn't get any sleep.' Jaune thought as he dragged himself with his teammates to his first class.

He hoped that his eyes don't decide to take a ride to dreamland.

(Hours later, Doctor Oobleck's Class)

"So during this time of the Faunus Revolution, while the human side had the slight advantage in terms of weaponry and more secure vantage points in their more rural territories, do not mistake that they had full dominance against the faunus people. As they had the advantage in more secure, natural areas that used nature, further utilizing their more guerilla tactics in more foliage ridden environments. Furthermore..."

Blake's eyes were fighting a losing battle as she tried to continue to watch the spastic green haired, glass wearing professor talk on and on about the subject of Faunus Battlegrounds from the Faunus Revolution. Her tired body had been fighting with her as each class took a toll on her today with having Grimm Studies with Port practically almost bored to tears, along with a surprisingly helpful but pointless in Blake's opinion class with Professor Peach and dust usage.

Thankfully she was able to rest her eyes a bit in both while not getting in trouble, she definitely couldn't pull that move off in Combat Class with Ms. Goodwitch.

'Fat load of good that micro nap did me, didn't help me at all.' Honestly she didn't want to have a nightmarish freakout if she fully went to sleep.

But with Oobleck as the final class of the day? She couldn't help that her eyes were a bit half lidded right now.

All that she was able to pick up on were key words and locations that her motormouth professor pointed out like Sharp Rock Cliff which was actually renamed as Tangeth Cliff thanks to the brave lion faunus general that gave his life to stop an anti-faunus mercenary from slaughtering all of his troops from an ambush. Other locations she was familiar with like Tortuga Stone Beach, Lynx Caverns, and the Slit Snake Sand Flats as she recalled those were major victories for the Faunus people thanks to their animal traits to trick or confuse the faunus hating recalled those others battles even remembered her father telling her when she was growing up in Menagerie, fond tales of the Faunus ingenuity and intelligence to outsmart an enemy with better technology and weaponry.

While this subject would make her beam with pride and show others that the faunus people aren't just 'animals' to the more prejudice students here, Blake honestly wasn't paying attention to that right now.

Instead... Blake's gaze went downwards to the row beneath her, seeing to the right a lightly snoring Jaune that was out like a light currently, his face in the middle of his textbook.

In truth... Blake was actually focusing on the leader of JNPR at, her thoughts turning to the Friday she was in the day she watched Jaune's freak out episode in secret.

She didn't mean to keep thinking about this, it was just the goofball leader of their sister team. There was no need to get so invested into something that wasn't her business.

But Blake just couldn't help herself, everything she recalled that night in the library just stuck with her.

She could honestly chalk that up to trying to repress her frustrations and fears on that night and the sleepless night afterwards. Blake would have gone mad if she didn't find some other kind of focus to take her off of the White Fang dead ends.

Unfortunately... Watching Jaune have a bizarre freakout was just the thing that stuck with her.

The raven haired faunus had to curse her curious nature, as cliche as it was.

While Jaune didn't really explain what was his control issue with himself that night, Blake had a couple of guesses of what could be the hidden answer was. However she didn't have much evidence to go by.

And the best way to figure out that answer... would be to ask Jaune himself about what happened that night...

'How am I suppose to do that? I can't just walk up to him say, "Hey so what was that weird stuff going on with your body growing hair all over" Yeah that would be a real good icebreaker.' Blake honestly wasn't the best at sugar coating sensitive topics when it came to socializing, its probably because of her more reclusive nature.

Probably why she doesn't have too many friends outside of her team and Team JNPR, along with some acquaintances like Velvet from Team CFVY. So she definitely wasn't like Yang who could work over a crowd with her bombastic personality and sunny nature or Weiss where she could control the room with her elegant presence and sophisticated pomp when talking to others.

Blake funny enough similar to her more excitable young leader, except without the love for weapons and strawberries. Though her love for tuna and romance literature that have a good steamy plot were definitely the replacements for her interests.

Unfortunately for Blake though... Ruby had something that she didn't have, a sort of one-up on the faunus girl.

She was friends with Jaune.

With Ruby being friends with him, she could be more comfortable with discussing topics like what happened on Friday compared to her, Jaune could possibly confide in his best friend about what he's going through, as well as his partner Pyrrha considering how close they already are.

Blake on the other hand? They were basically strangers to each other. Both of them had only really hung out thanks to the times their teams eat lunch together, and the occasional team hang out sessions that they have in either dorm room during their free days.

But she never really went out of her way to talk to the blond knight, she was more interested in her usual reading material and just trying to relax.

Recently though... even that wonderful hobby wasn't enough to get her out of her apprehensions of the White Fang right now. The thought of the ex-peaceful organization that she had changed from within, causing havoc in Vale made her feel sick, and no one is doing anything to track them down!

She would have been heated right now if she wasn't so damn tired...

Maybe...shutting her eyes for a few seconds would get her some energy back...

Her half lidded eyes started to flutter close, as the sound of Oobleck was starting to sound faint and fading away. Her head laying on her desk with her hands making a makeshift pillow for her face.

Blake began to shut her eyes fully, seeing only the darkness of her eyelids. Perhaps she wouldn't get a horrible nightmare this time around.

If only for a few minutes of complete and utter...peace.

"Miss Belladonna!"

"Agh! Wha?" Blake immediately popped up from the loud, and slightly painful outburst of noise a few seconds later. Rubbing the tiredness out of her eyes as she quickly turned her gaze to the immediate noise that was in front of her.

However her quick pan up made her gulp as a green haired and glass wearing professor right in front of her, leaning over her to look at a close distance.

"Why pray tell have you fallen asleep in my class, during this opportunistic time to learn about Faunus history?" Oobleck adjusting his glasses slightly. "Do you instead care for what is in the back of your head, instead of the knowledge I give to you today?"

Blake was still feeling exhausted, and with being put on the spot in front of everyone around her she was stunned for a few seconds before answering.

"Uh... Well..." While Blake could usually make an excuse on the fly, as she was usually pretty solid at deception back when she was with the White Fang. Along with her family being inspirational speakers for Faunus kind all around the world of Remnant.

This was one of the first times that she didn't have an answer for the person talking to her...

With how tired she was at the moment, and running a little low on brain power currently, Blake's thought were a jumbled mess currently, and right now... she really couldn't really defend herself and make an excuse that she wasn't sleeping in class.

"Well? That's all you have to say?" Oobleck retorted with some passion. "Sleeping during my class is not to be tolerated Ms. Bellowdenna."

"It's actually..." The raven haired girl said with some irritation in her tone as the professor messed up her name once again. Seriously how does he keep getting it wrong...

"I know that you want to plead your case, but you know the rules Ms. Belabunka." Blake split between being embarrassed from being caught snoozing in class and wanting to throttle the coffee addict professor. "See me after class for your extra assignment that will be given to you."

With that said only she could do was slam her head in her textbook from the stupid punishment that she would have to do.

"And speaking of sleeping students." The green haired doctor didn't even have to turn around to know who he was going to call out as he had already noticed. "Mr. Arc!" He yelled close enough as Jaune was just below Blake.

"Ngh! The Grimm are a conspiracy made up by the Vale government!" His snoring ceased immediately, shouting out...whatever that was, causing the rest of the class to laugh at the blond teens ridiculous statement. Jaune couldn't help the red splotch appear on his cheeks as he accidently made a fool of himself once again in front of his fellow Huntsmen.

Pyrrha sighed out as she watched her partner get into trouble with a concern frown, while Nora just laughed at the ridiculous outburst and Ren only shook his head and facepalmed.

"What a dunce..." The resident Schnee only shook her head at the dope. However her gaze turned to Blake and how she saw that the bow wearing girl was also in trouble for the same thing Arc was.

While she knew Jaune was that kind of slacker she was definitely more disappointed in her teammate as she couldn't help the feeling a bit angry at Blake for making herself look like she doesn't care. Because it also reflected on her and the team as well.

"While I appreciate your... speculations and theories Mr. Arc, you were also taking your time to catch some sleep during my lector." Oobleck said. The comment causing a new batch of chuckling at the blonde's expense. Jaune turned his head upwards to see the frowning History Professor, shying away from being caught in such a shameful display during the lecture. "As such... you will also be working on an extra assignment in cooperation with Ms. Belladonna, see me after class once we are done here."

Jaune could only groan in defeat, hitting his head lightly on the desk.

'Well... at least I could of been doing this alone.' The bright side is that he wouldn't have to suffer alone in one of Oobleck's extra assignments, the blond had Blake to help him take on this extra task of whatever the doctor was cooking up.

Hey... misery loves company, and if it was the mysterious, aloof beauty of Team RWBY keeping him company he couldn't complain.

Because at least it wasn't Cardin.

(An hour later...)

Everyone else filed out of afternoon class of Dr. Oobleck's class, all except Blake and Jaune as the two were at the front desk of the green haired huntsmen professor, the man was writing down some kind of language in an ancient textbook that was probably made by old scholars long ago in the land of Mistral.

Their teammates gave them some encouraging and sheepish looks when they had to go down to the front.

Well...some of them did in the form of Ruby and the rest of Team JNPR. Yang was acting like... Yang as per her usual joking manner and Weiss gave off that usual disappointed parent look that they give when their kid messes up.

'Whatever... I'd like to see her try and stay up for nights on end to find a violent organization that would destroy the city.' Blake just knew that's how Weiss was, trying to be a perfectionist at everything. Oum forbid that someone on the team did poorly on some kind of test or assignment.

Maybe if she took that noble stick up her ass Blake and her would get along a little better. But was wishful thinking on her part.

Blake's gaze took her over to the groggy looking Jaune, taking notice of the blonde's own fatigue, his usually deep blue eyes that have life in them, now reduced to being half shut thanks to a lack of sleep. His posture a little slouched over and showing his exhaustion fully to Blake.

He looked terrible right now, like he could be taken out by a strong gust of wind if it blew by.

Though she wasn't winning any beauty contest either with the haggard state she was in currently.

"I expect better of my students, young minds that come to learn about history so they do not repeat the horrors we have heard in history books." Oobleck said as his back was turned, writing on the board of more the unknown language to both teens.

"Knowledge is power after all Mr. Arc and Ms. Belladonna. We use this information to better ourselves and to have a better understanding of our shrinking world." Oobleck continued. " And what better way to understand the past then to write about it." The green haired man finally looked towards both of them.

"The assignment I'm giving you is to find two battleground locations each that wasn't covered today by both humans and faunus." He continued as he went over to his desk to pick up his heated flask full of coffee, pouring it into his metal cup. "They will both go over the reasons for the victory and why both of them were able have the advantage over the other." Oobleck pointed towards the blond teen.

"Mr. Arc."

"Yes Profes-"

"DOCTOR Mr. Arc." The man loudly interrupted him." And you will be completing the faunus battleground part of the writing assignment." Jaune yawned nodding in understanding. The knight wasn't too bothered with looking up and researching the faunus warriors that fought for their rights to live on in freedom.

It may be a little tedious at first to find the information, but who knows... maybe he could learn something from the crafty faunus that fought in the trench's or use some of those guerilla warfare tactics.

While Oobleck pointed towards the hidden faunus girl. "While you Ms. Belladonna will research the human Anti-Faunus faction part of the equation." Which caused Blake to grumble a little bit.

The displeasure was not unfound as the girl was going to have to do a piece on what she thought were scum of Remnant. Most of the people that went against the Faunus in the Revolution were against her people in some way.

It didn't matter to those humans back then, all they wanted to do was put faunus, her people in their place and used any means to defeat them, to break the faunus.

Whether they wanted to show superiority as a species by sending a message, enslave them into working under their boot after capturing them as prisoners of war, or flat out exterminating them, one thing was clear to Blake...

They were horrible people that she wished stayed in a the cold spaces of hell.

"This must be completed by the end of the week you two. When you are finished with the project, turn it into me with both of your signatures that you have work on the essay. The amount of effort and dedication will decide your grade, as well as how you work together." Surprising both of them that revelation. This definitely didn't make sense to the surprised looking duo.

"But we aren't even on the same team? Wouldn't it be better if we worked with our teams on this assignment?" Blake asked. As much as she didn't want to drag her innocent team, it was worth asking the question.

"They were not the ones to sleep in my class, I think it unfair to punish those that absorb my teachings and learn than those who choose to ignore that wisdom, don't you think it so?" Making Blake want to retort, but she couldn't really think of any response.

Somehow she has felt this sense of deja vu when her teacher had said that. Her thoughts being brought back to Menagerie, the home she left behind thanks to her own pigheaded belief of bringing change in her own way.

Maybe if she did listen to her parents warning... she could of bring about a different kind of change that would put the White Fang on an altered path. A change that would make her parents proud as she followed in their footsteps, all for the sake of peace and equality with humans and faunus in harmony.

'Heh... did a real bang up job there didn't I?' Blake couldn't help but bitterly chuckle in her head.

"Though there is another reason for this. Sometimes when Huntsmen or Huntresses are assigned missions with others, they don't get to choose who they work with. Yet the expectation for you is all the same, everybody there expecting result." Oobleck continued on.

"Completing the mission your given sometimes takes sacrifice. Sometimes you'll have to work with individuals that may dislike you or are unpleasant towards you. But in during that time you must put your differences aside for the task at hand, as the people need to see Huntsmen and Huntresses as beacons of strength to combat the true enemy of world." The green haired doctor finished, taking a long sip of his caffeinated beverage, the hot drink making him feel at ease.

After that he let out a sigh of relief. "Ahhhh... Always refreshing." He sighed out. "Now. Just as you were instructed you two will type out, 4000 words or more for this paper. Two locations each with both humans and faunus being victorious and pointing out reasons why they succeded in their task. I'll be expecting this by the end of the week." They both looked at each other and realized it was Tuesday today.

Not really much time to dawdle.

"You are free to go now." The man finally dismissing the blond knight and the raven haired faunus ninja. "Wait you two! One more thing!" Oobleck shouted out before they left.

"Since you both belong to different teams and teammates like yours can be very helpful. I unfortunately have to bar you from getting any help from your respected teams. The only help you can get is from each other for this assignment."

"What?!" They both said at the same time.

But the green haired man only tsked at the Hunters-in-training. "Remember what I said. Sometimes you don't have a choice on who you are working with, and this will be one them." Oobleck reminded the two. "Now off you go! And have a good rest of your day."

With that said, the two didn't say another word in fear of setting off some other rules and left Oobleck's class through the main doors.

Both Jaune and Blake walked for a certain amount of time in hallways, with some students here and there chatting with friends or going over the next homework assignment they needed to finish.

Finally the silence was a bit too much for both of them as they stopped walking to talk about whatever happened in Oobleck's class.

They both needed to get the Goliath out of the room anyways

"Hey Blake." Jaune said.

"Yeah..." Her grumpy looking frown was still on her face. Jaune was taken aback and wanted to deescalate her bad mood. "Look Jaune. If you're upset about what happened to both of us back in Oobleck's class. I just-"

"Wanted to say I'm sorry." He finished with an apolgetic tone.

"What? Why are you sorry?" Her frown suddenly turned from angry to confused. "You didn't cause any of this. It was my own fault I slept in class and got caught."

"Well I think I brought that on myself Blake." Jaune scratching the back of his head, his usual nervous habit showing. "I... haven't really been getting a good sleep recently, trying study and get ahead of Oobleck's class before the others and look where that got me today."

Blake couldn't help but let out chuckle from the irony of it all. "Well guess we were both the guilty party here."

"Yeah... both sleeping on the job, or who knows." Jaune showing a doepy smile that was full of tired energy. "Maybe Oobleck's got some sort of instinctive alarm when someone's caught sleeping, probably all that coffee in his system. Surprised the guys blood isn't made of caffeine." The blond joke, getting prying a giggle out of the normally serious Blake.

"But that still doesn't explain how its your fault I got caught sleeping." Blake's mood slightly getting better.

"Well I think Oobleck caught me first before he found you out. He thought I was the easy target and didn't need to point me out until he found you out." Jaune explained.

While Blake could understand the whole process, she still didn't get one thing about the blond. "I guess that make's sense... well sort of..." Blake said. "But why haven't you gotten any sleep?"

"Well those late weekend study nights didn't help me now did they." He chuckled as he told the girl, rubbing his head and trying to be light hearted about the whole situation.

But Blake wasn't having any of it. "Jaune seriously, I'm gonna need your help in this assignment Oobleck dropped on us, and I need to trust in you in order to get this done. Just tell me the truth."

"Look Blake... its complicated." Jaune told her as he sighed out his frustration.

She knew when to back off this time around from the shouting and prying, didn't want cause another argument like she did with Weiss now with the Dock incident. "Then at least give me the gist of what's going ok." She said in a more calm tone. "Pyrrha looked concerned for you this morning, and I noticed you were just out of it, and while I'm not the closest person to you..." But before she could continue, Jaune just put his hand up, stopping her train of thought.

"It's fine... just seems everyone is now starting to be concerned for me nowadays..." Staring off towards the window to see it was a still a beautiful looking afternoon, with a few clouds in the sky and the sun still shining bright in the sky.

"I'm just...dealing with some personal stuff ok." The knight admitted in a defeated tone. "I'm trying to show my team that I can pull my weight around here and not hold them back like the beginning of the semester." His hand tightened into a fist.

"My fighting abilities are mediocre at best and terrible at worst Blake if you didn't notice by now." And she had no answer for that, everyone knew in the first years that Jaune was one of the worst fighters in their year. But she had noticed the blond improving more and more as

"In fact with how pitiful I was, and still am... I'll admit that I have no right to be here. That I should have given up by now and just gone home, to admit that I am a failure." Blake couldn't help but to feel her heart break a little from how he sounded. She felt his voice waiver a bit as tears were at the edges of his cerulean blue eyes.

'Jaune...' She heard passion and emotion intertwine with him, and she couldn't help but see the leader of JNPR differently to his childish, goofy slacker.

"But if I did that now... that would prove that they were right. That I'm not ready to become a Huntsmen, that I was too weak and pathetic to become the hero I want to be." The back of his hand wiping his face. "I'd be turning my back Pyrrha, Ruby, and all of you guys that are my friends. The people that truly believe in me still." Jaune's frown raising a bit getting out of his little funk.

"That's the reason. I can't hold them back Blake, I refuse to be the reason we can't be an amazing huntsmen squad. As long as I'm leader of this team I won't allow us to fail. I will take strides at becoming a better Huntsmen for not only me, but for my team and all of the people of Remnant I want to help!" He finished his sentence with a powerful vigor.

Blake couldn't but be left in awe from the determination he had. While he looked absolutely exhausted, he still was able to look convincing to her that he meant every word that he said. Her heart actually was in her throat because for a second in front of her, the raven haired girl could see a familiar image of the towering black haired man that she used to look up to for strength, the wonderful figure that shrouded her in protection and warmth.

She couldn't believe that Jaune Arc... reminded the faunus girl of her father.

Blake quickly shook off the shock, choosing to forget the thought of her parental figure that she had wronged. "Alright alright." She shoved her head to stop him from digging up anymore regretful thoughts he might force out thanks to his talking. "You've made your point." She shook her head before looking at the blond with a half hearted smirk.

"Listen Jaune... as much as you struggle here at Beacon, let me just tell you something that could help you later down the line." Blake told him as the blond tuned in. "Please don't doubt yourself. All of us have seen your improvement throughout this semester, and while you did... suck." Blake said bluntly.

"Wow... thanks." He said with a deadpan tone.

But the comment didn't stop her from talking, however she hesitated slightly as she remembered telling this to certain White Fang platoon leaders that had squads back in the day that made certain mistakes when fighting against aggressors. While she wasn't the best right hand woman, sometimes she had to talk to those nervous first time leaders and give them inspirational or pep talks to try and boost their confidence in their abilities.

'Don't think about them... this is for Jaune...' She convinced herself to continue.

"You have still shown yourself worthy of being a great Huntsmen. Just because you aren't the best with swinging your weapons around like Yang or Pyrrha, firing dust off like Weiss, or even knowing how to become a great sniper like Ruby, it doesn't mean you aren't important to your team." Blake continued. "Despite our team being the 'best', JNPR still trumps us in multiple other sections of combat." Blake admitted.

"Honestly that's just because my teammates are just amazing in fights." Jaune admitted.

That was an understatement to Blake, compared to Team RWBY, their sister team was leaps and bounds better in a group sparring matches. It didn't matter what kind of strategy that they tried, it just felt like JNPR was almost two steps ahead of them in fighting them.

It wasn't like that her team was inferior, its just that when Ren and Nora could handle both her and Yang. Weiss and Ruby were usually left to fight the other pair, and if they tried to split off and double team another. Jaune would choose that time to come up with a plan to switch partners that would bring Blake world's of pain.

Because she could match blows against Ren as they were nearly blow for blow similar in fighting styles and speed, an even match for sure. Of course their semblances were vastly different with her making clones and his neutralizing emotions which doesn't help that much in a sparring match, but what the martial artist makes up for that is his flawless fighting techniques that throw the raven haired faunus girl for a loop.

However Blake could deal with fighting Ren as the victories usually went back and forth for the so called 'rivaled ninjas' as Yang and Nora stupidly call it.

But if her opponent switched to Nora or Oum forbid Pyrrha...

Majority of times if that opponent switch happened... Blake would lose.

She couldn't help but shiver about fighting the Pink bomber that was Nora. It would almost end with both set of ears would be ringing and her body blown back from the nuke that was Nora Valkyrie's Grenade Launcher. However the worst was being on the receiving end of the ginger girl's flat side of her hammer.

Blake had flashbacks of being hit dead on with that deadly weapon in the gut once, she swore her insides felt like they were rearranged from the devastating blow. If she wasn't in so much pain from that strike and not trying to heal herself with her aura there was definitely a sexual innuendo somewhere...

That matchup was usually her was not in her favor, on a rare occasion she would defeat Nora only to defeated after being completely gassed and running low on aura.

As for Pyrrha? That was an entire different beast that she had no clear chance of winning against.

Usually for Blake's troubles of fighting against the Hoplite girl, she gets a first class ass kicking from Ms. Invincible girl as she would get completely out maneuvered and physically dominated, the strength of her strikes were no joke and for some reason her clones just had no effect on the red haired girl. She'd easily sniff her out and beat the crap out of her until she ran out of aura.

Then after she was done with her, the rest of their team would fall with Weiss most likely the first to go, then Blake, and then the sisters would fall in the spar to give the win to JNPR. It was ridiculous to fight her as Blake was usual throwing everything in her arsenal to try and defeat her, only to be defeated soundly by the girl from Mistral.

Long story short... during team matches team JNPR were vastly superior against hers in terms of fighters.

"Don't sell yourself short Jaune, you definitely have improved, I've seen you hold your own against us. Your not just getting kicked around anymore, and during those team matches you are son of bitch to take down." While the other three were more evasive and offensive against her that could match her speed, it was different ground game against Jaune.

Thanks to his massive pool of aura and his sword and shield fighting style, along with his massive improvement in sort of defensive fighting style. Jaune was one of the longest fighters to take down, especially when her strikes were fast and lighter strikes against her opponents.

It was like a war of attrition against him, having to ware him down until he finally fell from all of his aura. But now that he had more training, better fighting posture and some more practice in spars and training the difficulty of taking him down had increased drastically.

Though while he was getting closer to their level of fighting, he still had ways to go before he could take on any of Team RWBY head on in the ring, but he has improved enough to take on those scumbags in Team CRDL, along with their racist, meathead leader Cardin. In fact last week during Combat Training, she was glad to see that Jaune was able to handle their supposed best fighter of their little group, Dove Bronzewing, with relative ease on the floor.

Blake had to admit that she applauded him with more vigor that day for taking down that asshole.

"Ah... you're just saying that." Jaune tried to turn away from the raven haired girl, but she wasn't gonna let him as she turned him towards her face to show she was serious.

"Trust me Jaune, I'm not trying to sugarcoat any of this. You have been improving leaps and bounds and that's not even covering on your leadership skills." Jaune couldn't help but look into Blake's eyes.

They were like yellow gems that caught his attention and now that he got a close look at the girl from Menagerie he had to admit.

'She is beautiful.' His thoughts just told him. While almost all the girls here at Beacon were like supermodels that belonged in magazines, they all had their different ways of making them beautiful.

Yang was as rough and tough as they come, but Jaune couldn't help to admit that she was a total bombshell of a woman. With huge... assets and have fun and loving personality she was definitely sexy and the girl knew it.

Pyrrha, his partner was buxom, athletic, strong woman that could beat anyone down that she chooses and looks like an absolute goddess. But instead of flaunting that like other people, she was polite, caring, and just a fun girl to be around, a perfect girlfriend if he ever could gather the courage to ask her.

Weiss Schnee... need he say more about the lovely snow angel?

But with Blake she was a bit different, while she was attractive to him her personality was not as warm as Yang or Pyrrha, but not cold and jaded like Weiss. Kind of in between the middle with some snarky sass, and some sort of warm nature that made her a softie. All hidden under that mysterious aloof nature that needed to be opened up to see the more caring side of Blake.

Not to mention her silky black hair that flowed behind her, an hourglass figure that was built for speed and flexibility, and her exotic, piercing eyes that reminded him of the kittens he used to take care of as a child.

However... her most attractive asset that he heard from the boys locker room was actually her... large posterior or 'Bellabooty' as the more perverted guys like Cardin and his team like to call it.

While Jaune would never try and talk about Blake's large ass in public like that, the blond did have to admit that he had a look or two at Blake's butt.

And even he had to admit it was quite...'phat' as one of his sisters would say.

"Jaune? Jaune? Are you ok?" The tired faunus girl snapping her fingers in front of the daydreaming blond, when he finally got out of his naughty thoughts he shook his head rapidly, looking towards Blake once more.

"Huh? What were we talking about?" He questioned, trying to get his mind out of the gutter as Blake just lifted her eyebrow in confusion before just shrugging off.

"I was going to talk about what time we should do this writing assignment and when should we work on it." Blake told the distracted, tired knight of Juniper.

"Oh... Well let's try and do it on Wednesday night in the library, and then if we still have more work to finish it up we will just come back on Thursday. Is that good for you?"

Blake nodded in confirmation. "Yeah, that sounds perfect. It'll give us enough time to finish some of assignment, maybe half way or more and then finish the rest that might be left and edit the rest of the assignment for errors."

"Alright... well since we got all scheduled. I think I'm gonna try and...'yawn'... get some rest or something before some sparring with Pyrrha tonight." The tired Jaune let out a huge yawn before passing by the equally tired Blake. "See you then Blake." With that he made his way out of the building, hoping to hop in his bed and catch up on some studying or maybe even a couple of z's before he had to train with Pyrrha tonight.

Unless... his 'semblance' was going to act up on him.

Blake watched him walk off as she kept staring at his retreating form. Jaune was definitely a stand up guy that wears his heart on his sleeve, something that she could truly admire, a trait that she envied and wish she could bring out of herself.

The raven haired teen continued to walk toward her save haven in the library. She was hoping to find some kind of peace and quiet, not wanting to get into it with her teammates at the moment, hell maybe get a bit of a dreamless sleep that she didn't have to worry about.

She prayed to whatever deity that she would be blessed with that.

However there was one thing that she sensed before Jaune left her sight. The blond knew how to leave all of his personal problems at the door unlike some people, and she could include herself in that group if she was being honest.

But besides that when she took a whiff of Jaune's scent when he was near her and talking, there was a certain smell that she could only describe as... weird and made her cat faunus instincts go crazy.

That's because she detected the faint scent of canine wafting off his entire body.

And that just left her with more questions than answers about the blond leader.

'Just who are you Jaune Arc...' The faunus teen looked back before heading her way to her usual spot in the library.

AND SCENE!

Oh boy, that took a little longer than expected for this chapter.

For this one Blake and Jaune will have to be working together in order to complete their assignment, thus in a sense bonding or getting to know each other a little bit more in the next chapter.

By the way... if you any of you figured out who Tangeth is, let me just tell you how awesome you are. Because I love that show as a kid.

Though me thinks that Blakey suspects something from our blond noodle, and yes Blake... you have every right to be suspicious about Jaune. As his origins of his Semblance and lineage are shrouded in mystery.

One that is soon to be unraveled.

I hope you all enjoyed this chapter! Not much action in this one or the first one, but don't worry your pretty little heads.

Also I hope you guys don't think Oobleck was too harsh... I guess whenever I think of someone like him with Doctorate. I kind of have it in my mind to have troublemakers to be punished.

Especially in a university.

But besides that... next chapter we are getting down to some serious action here in this story so I hope y'all stay tuned.

Also I know that the others of the remaining parts of the team aren't really prevalent right now. Don't worry they are just a little slow on the uptake right now, but they'll be with it sooner or later, but for now Blake's gonna be here investigating.

So how did you like this chapter? Good? Bad? Mid? You let me know in the comments or in a DM.

Like, Comment, and Subscribe if you wanna support the story or if you enjoyed the read!

If you want to talk about anything just send me a PM and I will get to you as soon as I am available.

With that said... I'll see you in the next chapter, this is Irongiant9000 and I'm signing off!

Next Chapter: Chapter 3: Hunger of the Wolf
