Hey everyone, so this is a lot faster than my other updates, There's a reason for that. So I've been rereading this awesome story on AO3, it's called "Haryana and the Determination to make the Adults Deal with the Adult Problems" and it's really awesome. It's actually inspired me to write a new story, I'm a little hesitant posting it since it's a topic I've not written about before but I really like it and I have big plans, I was uninspired to write until I started the first chapter and then my inspo came back like a monster!
And it wasn't just inspiration for writing, no I've been writing songs, posting more on my gacha club youtube channel (Yes I have one, no I am not ashamed), and recording more videos for my Gaming youtube channel! I'm really energized with this story, I hope you all like it if you don't that's fine though.
Onto reviews!
Marcii Winters chapter 33 . Sep 7
Yesssss!
I love those house elves so fuckin much!
I was getting so ready to read an epic showdown with the big bad only for two sweet little house elves to pop up behind the bastard and PUBG pan him into unconsciousness!
I'm pretty sure I even heard the sound effect in my head!
Also, sibling bonding is so cute and I love them so much, the precious babies!
Me: Yeah I was wondering how I was going to write the fight scene when those two decided to take over, I like the way it turned out, it was anticlimactic but so funny.
Irina Akashira chapter 33 . Sep 8
Ty for the update
I guess if Damien stay with them some time, either Ember and others will have to deceive him to think it is the ravenclaw's manor, or explain to be the slytherin manor, that won the rights "By Right of Conquest (Declared by Magic)", which would confirm him (and dumbles too if listen it) Ember "killed" voldy years ago
If the former, even if damien says to dumbles, dumbles would can suspect, but likely would think either voldy was wrong, or lied to confuse damien
If latter, and damien explain dumbles, all problems
I think Ember or Lily would have to convince him if revealed in this point, neither of them will benefit, best pretend they won't listen anything
Me: They're pretending it's Ravenclaws Manor instead
Project Infinite chapter 33 . Sep 10
We both know there will be a custody battle between house potter and house Ravenclaw over Damian, so how will be handled? This will be important when Ember chooses to reveal her secrets to him.
Me: The custody is supposed to be 50/50 as I believe it was explained when Lily divorced James, so Damien will eventually have to go stay with his dad for a bit but since he's old enough to decide where he wants to stay, and he just went through some big trauma, the ministry is letting him stay with his mom for longer since they don't want to upset him.
Ember might tell him in a year or so, just so she can get to know him and trust him more.
Onto the story!
The first week Ember spent back at Slytherin Manor was strange and eventful. She was living with Damien and her mom while hiding the fact that the gems weren't human from him. James kept trying to get Damien to come back "home" with him, but the boy refused to leave the manor. He didn't want to be apart from his sister after the trauma he went through less than a week ago.
The headmaster was trying to help James get Damien home, but the ministry said that as long as Damien was being taken care of, they wouldn't force the boy to leave his new safe space.
One night, while Damien was sleeping, Ember snuck into her potions room and made two new gems to be bodyguards. She had promised her family she would make one so she would have someone to protect her, but she was also making one for Damien.
Damien was known as the Boy-Who-Lived throughout the wizarding world. There would be people out there wanting to hurt him to prove they were strong, and since he was her brother, she would protect him. She knew the headmaster would have complaints, but after what happened a week ago, Ember doubted that people would deny the twins the extra protection the bodyguards offered.
The first bodyguard was a Vera Cruz Amethyst. She would be her brother's bodyguard, and Ember would make it clear to him that he wasn't to be rude or mean to her. She had learned that Vera was sensitive and could feel the emotions of others around her. This ability would be good for figuring out the true intentions people had for her brother. This was one reason why she was Damien's bodyguard.
Vera's skin was a translucent pale purple with a soft, ethereal glow. Her gem was placed on the back of her neck where her spine met her shoulders. The gem was small and delicate, with a soft rounded hexagon shape. It was polished and finely cut, shining brightly whenever it caught the light. It didn't protrude much, sitting flush against the skin.
The gem was a pale lavender color, looking almost translucent. It had hints of white that shimmered whenever the light hit it just right.
Her hair was long and flowed down to the nape of her back in soft waves. It was colored a pale purple that turned into light pink at the tips. The hair shimmered in the light, looking like she had white highlights in her hair.
Her eyes were pale lavender that showed kindness. Her eyes also had a slightly distant or dreamy look. Ember knew that people would underestimate Vera because of her dreamy look.
She was wearing a flowing, off-the-shoulder blouse that had long bell sleeves that gently flared out near the wrists. The fabric felt as if it were made of silk, it was so soft. The shirt was a soft white that had subtle iridescent patterns of roses all over, which could only be seen when the light hit it just right.
She had a flowing skirt that fell just below her knees, and it almost looked like it was floating on its own. The skirt was a light purple that complemented the white of the shirt she was wearing.
She was wearing silver ballet flats. The shoes had thin straps that wrapped around her feet, and the shoes had a light metallic finish that glittered as she walked.
Vera's weapon was a rapier. She was also able to manipulate light to create weak shields. She could also manipulate light to make illusions, although she couldn't hold the illusions for long since they used up a lot of mental focus. She was working on increasing the time she could use this ability. She could also use the light to flash-bang enemies if she needed a quick advantage.
She could also float slightly in the air, using this ability to help her create a fighting style that made it look like she was dancing through the air.
The other gem that Ember made was a Green Amethyst, otherwise known as a Prasiolite. Her skin was a soft mint green, and her gem was located on her right outer ankle.
The gem was small and had a geometric cut in a round shape, with sharp defined features. The color was soft, pale green so it blended into her skin, and if it weren't for the light catching it, most people wouldn't even notice the small gem.
Her hair was tied back into a loose ponytail, with a few loose strands framing her face. Her hair was a vibrant dark green at the roots that slowly turned into a pastel green at the tips.
Her eyes were light green, and she looked at the world with a sharp, protective gaze.
She was wearing a simple white shirt with short sleeves. The neckline was a V-neck, showing off a bit of cleavage but not enough to be immodest. She was wearing a dark green leather jacket over the shirt. The jacket was sleek and fitted, showing off her figure to distract from her sharp eyes. The jacket had glossy leather with silver zippers and pockets, looking like a biker jacket.
She had on black skin-tight pants that fit her body perfectly. The pants were made out of a flexible material that hugged her body as she trained with Vera.
She wore knee-high combat boots. They were black with bold light green accents on the soles and laces. If you looked closely, you would notice the green accents were glowing faintly, but not enough to be noticeable.
Her weapon was a bo staff with a hidden blade inside to be used as needed.
Ember had nicknamed her Sage in honor of her green theme. She couldn't very well call her Green Amethyst, now could she? Anyway, it was good to have different names for the gems, even if they were the same type of gem as others. It helped them have their own personalities.
Sage was very calm while also being a sarcastic queen. She never failed to make Ember laugh with her sarcastic comments.
Lily put a glamour over the two gems until Ember was able to get her hands on some more charmed jewelry from the goblins to help her new gems hide from those who didn't know the truth, like Damien.
Speaking of Damien, it was a bit tricky trying to keep the fact that they were living in Slytherin's manor from him. She told him it was one of Ravenclaw's manors instead and had the house elves charm everything that had snakes on it to show eagles instead.
She felt guilty for keeping so many secrets from Damien, but she knew that he would have a hard time accepting the truth. Maybe she would be able to tell him in a year, but she didn't know.
She finally got time to check out the island she had asked the Goblins to buy for her ages ago. It was pretty big, and it was clear that the goblins had used magic to expand the island for her since they knew she wanted a large island for the future. It had plenty of beaches all around, and Ember spent a few hours being a kid on the beach. She spent so long playing on the beach that Jasper and Pearl had to come check on her and bring her back to the manor for dinner.
Ember pouted but listened to the two younger gems and let them lead her back to the manor. Lily took one look at her daughter and laughed before sending her to take a shower to clean off the sand sticking to her body.
Ember spent dinner happily talking about her first trip to the beach. She promised Damien to take him with her next time, and he looked excited. Yes, he's been to the beach before, but that didn't mean he didn't get happy when he went.
Lily shared a fond look with Jasper and Pearl. The three newest Gems—Amethyst, Vera, and Sage—were spending dinner chatting. Amethyst was excited to be a big sister, while Vera and Sage claimed they were twins since they were created on the same day at the same time.
Ember just smiled when hearing that. She was glad things were working out and that everyone in her little family was getting along. She closed her eyes and just listened to the happy chatter of her family. When she had run away from the Potter household all those years ago, she didn't know it would lead to this one day.
If she could go back in time, she didn't think she would change a single thing—maybe make sure her mom and brother were treated kinder—but other than that, no, she wouldn't change a thing.
Later that night, she once again appeared in front of the four tall Diamonds. Ever since she had told the four about what happened at the end of her school year, they had insisted that she come every night to train with Yellow. The Diamonds had long since learned that Ember could train all night and not feel a thing when she woke up, meaning her muscles wouldn't be hurt by overtraining.
Ember was well aware that this was broken, but she abused it to hell and back. White and Yellow had even started working on something else. White would ask her questions while Yellow was sparring with her, to help Ember learn to focus on two different things without giving too much attention to one and not enough to the other.
She could see where this skill would be needed, and she was just thankful she was being trained by people who knew what Diamonds could do. She was also thankful that they respected her when she did need to take a break.
She couldn't train for hours at a time without a break. The first and only time she tried it, she almost passed out in her dream. No one wanted to risk that happening again.
So during her breaks, she would spend time talking with Pink and Blue. Ember found Pink amusing; the Diamond was so happy to have a 'little sister'. It was cute how protective she was of the younger Diamond.
Ember had overheard Yellow and Blue teasing Pink about being protective. Blue went as far as to say that Pink was acting the same way she and Yellow had when Pink had first formed, something that surprised Pink when she realized Blue was right.
Ember hadn't just been training during the nights, though. She was also training during the day and dragged Damien into her training when he expressed his disappointment that he hadn't been strong enough to protect himself.
She had a feeling there was a bit more to that, but she wouldn't ask. She would let him come to her. The two were still getting used to the new relationship between them, after all.
Ember didn't know it, but Damien was upset that Ember had to be the one to protect him. He believed that he should be strong enough to protect his sister. Now, don't get him wrong—he didn't believe that she couldn't protect herself or that she was weak because she was a girl. No, he knew full well that she was strong and didn't need anyone to protect her from most people.
It was just... Ember had placed herself between Damien and danger two different times, something he had noticed each time, and it made the shame burn. Shame that he couldn't stand by his sister's side to fight; he needed to be protected and shielded from the danger.
The memory of the night in the forest came to mind, remembering how he had to run away and leave his sister behind. It burned when he realized that she could have died back then and he would have been the one who left her there.
Damien eyed his sister and saw her soft smile as she listened to this weird family of hers. As he watched her, he made a vow—a vow to get stronger, to protect his sister the way she protected him.
