Chapter 20: Slow Trek Through The Bog! Pastoria City's Great Marsh And The Safari Zone!

The end of the battle caused Nemona's Starmobile to shut down.

Michael - "You've had enough Nemona? Or you raring to go again?"

Nemona - "Of course I'd love to battle you again! But I also know my Pokémon won't be happy with me for pushing them like that."

Michael - "Good. Putting your Pokémon's health ABOVE your desire for a fun battle makes you ok in my book. Now let's return to the others."

Nemona - "Right!"

Soon the pair returned to the garage where the others were waiting for them.

Akira - "Excellent battle you two. And thank you to you all for the amazing battle data that I can use to make turbo battles better and safer."

Michael - "Happy to help sis."

Akira then turned to the camera

Akira - "And also thank you to everyone that stayed for this entire livestream. This is Akira signing off for today. But hope you all stay tuned for the next update. Bye!"

Akira then stopped the recording, which also ended the livestream. She then turned towards the others.

Akira - "Well this turned into a very eventful day. For now, let's all eat dinner and get a good night's rest."

As everyone went about eating dinner, they quickly got into what they were gonna do tomorrow.

Nerissa - "Well all of Advent and I are gonna take up the offer to challenge Crasher Wake in a turbo battle for his gym badge. What about you Michael? Are you challenging the gym too?"

Michael - "Oh I am. Just not tomorrow."

Twilight - "You're not?"

Michael - "No. Gonna take tomorrow off to let me and my Pokémon recover from how today went."

Artoria - "So where are you going then?"

Michael - "The Safari Zone in Pastoria City's Great Marsh."

Fluttershy - "Can I join you Michael?"

Michael - "Sure Fluttershy. The Great Marsh is the only place to find Skorupi after all. Speaking of which. AJ. Could you join us as well?"

Applejack - "I don't mind sugarcube. But what's in it for me?"

Michael - "I believe you could get another final team member in Croagunk."

Applejack - "That's perfect then. Sure, the fella's four times weak to Psychic, but still a good counter to Fairy. No offense by the way Twi."

Twilight - "None taken AJ."

Akira - "So where are you guys heading to after here?"

Michael - "Canalave City. It's where the next gym is. Along with the fact that Ruby's there waiting for us."

Rainbow - "It's what, just her and Weiss that's left to join the group?"

Michael - "That's correct Rainbow."

Hilda - "Artoria. What are you and Azura gonna do?"

Azura - "We did plan to spend a bit more time with Michael on his journey across Sinnoh. Then the next time we pass through here with the party, we'll stay with you girls and help get the turbo battle system finished."

Akira - "I don't mind waiting for you both a bit longer. Besides, Michael deserved to re-connect with you both a bit more than we do since you two weren't here for his tenth birthday."

Artoria - "That's fair at least."

After dinner was over, everyone washed up and went to bed. During breakfast the following morning, Michael was up early. Before getting a bite to eat, Michael had brought a few of his girlfriends, mainly Cynthia, Whitney, Clair, and Flannery, to the beach in front of the valor resort.

Cynthia - "So why did you bring us down to the beach Michael?"

Michael - "Can't I just want to spend some personal time with a few of my girlfriends before the day starts?"

Clair - "This is a nice change of pace anyway. Very rarely do you ever willing take a day off like this."

Michael - "Well after doing 12 battles of at least four-on-four yesterday, 10 of which were turbo battles, I felt like a break was needed. And catching new Pokémon seemed like a good excuse for it too."

Whitney - "Are any of the other girls joining you? Or it's just Fluttershy and Applejack?"

Michael - "Just Fluttershy and Applejack. There's not a lot of options for the others to find in the Great Marsh."

Before the conversation could continue, Michael spotted something in the sand where the edge of the ocean's waves crashed on the beach.

Michael - "What's that?"

Cynthia - "What is it Michael?"

The girls slowly followed Michael over to the ocean's edge. Michael then slowly brushed away the sand that was covering the object he saw.

Michael - "It's a Pokémon egg…"

Flannery - "But how did it get here?"

Cynthia - "No idea. But let's get it to Azura and Jeanne quickly."

Michael - "Good idea."

Michael gently picked up the Pokémon egg, then made sure he had a secure hold on it as he and the girls returned to turbo battle HQ, where they quickly handed the egg over to Azura and Jeanne. During breakfast, Michael was informed that the egg was perfectly healthy and had no problems with it, which caused Michael to let out a sigh of relief.

Azura - "If you want to Michael. Jeanne and I can watch over the egg for the time being while you, Fluttershy, and Applejack do your catching at the Great Marsh. And don't worry. We'll be sure to message you if anything happens to the egg. Right Jeanne?"

Jeanne - "Right Azura. Just leave it to us big brother."

Michael - "Thanks then you two. That means a lot."

Soon breakfast was over and everyone went about their day. While Advent went to challenge the Pastoria Gym by a turbo battle, Michael, Fluttershy, and Applejack made their way over to the Safari Zone in the Great Marsh. Michael had also left his Pokémon behind to help Azura and Jeanne with taking care of the mysterious egg. After a good while of searching, Michael spotted the Pokémon the three of them were looking for.

Michael - "Girls. Over here."

Fluttershy and Applejack slowly crept over to where Michael was. The trio then silently watched until their desired catches came into view. Suddenly, a Skorupi and Croagunk came into view. Before either Pokémon could react, Fluttershy and Applejack threw a Safari Ball at their respective targets and successfully caught. After a few moments, both girls quickly realized that Michael didn't pop up to catch like they did.

Applejack - "Sorry about that Michael."

Michael - "Don't worry about it AJ. I intended for you both to get your catches first anyway."

Fluttershy - "Aww. That's sweet of you."

Then before they could go back to searching, the trio were suddenly confronted by another Skorupi and Croagunk, along with a very different looking Sneasel.

Applejack - "What in tarnation is a Sneasel doing here?"

Fluttershy - "Yeah. Aren't they normally supposed to be found in snowy and mountainous areas?"

Michael - "If this were a normal Sneasel, that would be the case. But it's not. And that's cause this actually is a Hisuian Sneasel."

Applejack - "What types is it then?"

Michael - "Same as Croagunk. Dual Fighting/Poison type."

Fluttershy - "Bet it must be rare to find them nowadays."

Applejack - "In fact, I have a feeling all three of them want to go with you Michael."

Michael - "You sure AJ?"

Fluttershy - "I'm with AJ. It only seems fair for you to catch the Hisuian Sneasel after all."

Michael - "Thank you then my dears."

Michael then went ahead and call all three. As the trio were returning to the Safari Zone's entrance, Michael suddenly got a call from Azura.

Applejack - "What is it Michael?"

Michael - "We've got to get back now. The egg's beginning to hatch."

Applejack and Fluttershy picked up the pace as well. After a few minutes of running back to turbo battle HQ, Michael, Fluttershy, and Applejack had finally arrived at the facility's medical wing.

Michael - "We came… as quickly as we could…"

Jeanne - "Just in time too. The egg's about to hatch."

Fluttershy - "Advent aren't here?"

Azura - "They're still doing their gym challenge. But they decided to take a break to watch the egg hatch."

Soon everyone else arrived. After a few minutes, the egg hatched to reveal a completely new Pokémon.

Roxanne - "Well this is a uniquely new Pokémon."

Michael - "That's because this isn't just any ordinary Pokémon Roxanne. This is the mythical Pokémon Manaphy."

Twilight - "The leader of the Sea Guardians? THAT Manaphy?!"

Michael - "The same Twilight. The pattern on the egg was a dead giveaway for me. But I didn't want to say anything at the time in the off chance I was somehow wrong about."

Michael walked forward, slowly crouching in front of Manaphy.

Michael - "Hello there Lady Manaphy. It's an honor to meet you. I'm Michael. And everyone around us are my siblings and friends."

Manaphy - "It's nice to meet you all as well."

Michael - "You can already talk?"

Manaphy - "Well I am a Mythical Pokémon, aren't I?"

Everyone chucked at that.

Michael - "Point taken."

Manaphy - "So is there anyone else besides me you want to introduce the others to?"

Michael - "Let me catch you first. Then I'll introduce the others."

Michael then quickly caught Manaphy, followed by bringing her out alongside Skourpi, Croagunk, and Sneasel.

Twilight - "You caught a Hisuian Sneasel?"

Michael - "Yep got her alongside Croagunk and Skourpi. And before I forget…"

Michael took off and placed his backpack on the table. Then he reached inside and rummaged around inside it.

Michael - "Where was it…"

He quickly found what he was looking for.

Michael - "Hop down on the floor please Sneasel."

Sneasel quickly hopped down from the table. Michael then gently tossed the item he removed from his backpack, a Razor Claw, at her. Sneasel caught the Razor Claw easily, which caused her to glow and evolve into a brand new Pokémon.

Michael - "Yay! Sneasel is now a Sneasler!"

Yang - "Wait. So what's the difference here?"

Michael - "While a Razor Claw on a Johtoian Sneasel at night gives you Weavile. The same item used on a Hisuian Sneasel during the day will give you Sneasler."

Cynthia - "I remember myths about Sneasler being good climbers?"

Michael - "That's exactly the truth Cynthia. Due to how steep the mountains were in Hisui back then, Sneasler here were tasked with helping people go up and down them due to their long claws, which act just like the mountain climbing pickaxes we use today."

Twilight - "By the way Michael. Because you now have Manaphy. Doesn't that also mean that you can get Phione too?"

Michael - "It does actually."

Michael then turned back towards his four newest catches.

Michael - "Now I'm gonna be sending the four of you home to my dad. Normally you'd be meeting my mom first, but she's busy with something at the moment. So I expect you all to behave. Can you do that?"

Manaphy/Skourpi/Croagunk/Sneasler - "Yes sir!"

Michael - "Good."

Michael then returned all four Pokémon before having them sent home.

Akira - "So what are you gonna do now for the rest of the day?"

Michael - "Do nothing and relax."

Michael then did just that, cheering on Advent as they won their respective challenges against Gym Leader Crasher Wake and won his gym badge. Besides that, he did nothing but have a day of fun with his Pokémon and girlfriends. Soon it was tomorrow, and Michael was very ready to win his next gym badge.
