"Hey darling!" Adam called out as he came into their home. He wasn't sure where she was but it wasn't large enough for her not to hear him. He watched her coming from their room. "Hey baby! How was your day?" Kim wrapped her arms around him kissing him softly. "It was good. Got some things for the donation box from myself. Most of the team has donated as well. And Platt informed me that Mollys is putting out a donation box as well. Guess that's what happens when you are part owners." Adam chuckled thinking about it. "Well I'm thankful for it either way. Now how about some dinner?" Kim asked as she moved to the kitchen. "Sounds good. What did you make?" He saw her pulling something out of the oven. "I made buffalo chicken stuffed peppers. It's high in protein, low in carbs. Big on flavor." Kim showed him knowing he loved spicy food. "Looks amazing! I can't wait to eat it." He grabbed the plates to set the table.
Kim grabbed some ranch dressing to drizzle over them. Then grabbed some silverware so they could start eating. She watched him take the first bite hearing him moaning in happiness. "This is so delicious darling! Thank you for cooking but also coming up with new dinners to keep it fresh." He was really proud of her but also thankful since he loved to eat. And he wasn't the best cook so he was even more thankful for her. "You are very welcome! We both need to eat healthy and we both don't want to be bored so I'm on the hunt for new recipes. I got tons of new ones to try out." She watched him get excited about it, "How do you feel about spaghetti squash?" She asked unsure. Some people really hated it. "Never had it before. But I'm down to try it. I assume it's low cal and low carb?" He honestly had no idea about it. He wasn't sure he had ever heard of it. "Absolutely. It's kind of crunchy in texture. Tastes like an acorn squash. I think that's the closest comparison. I like it. So I will make it for you one day." Kim smiled that he was willing to try it. "Sounds good to me. I'm willing to try most things. And I could always eat healthier so I'm good with that." He squeezed her hand as he kept eating.
"Thank you for not getting worried about my eating habits again." Kim whispered shyly. "Hey I get it. You are in down time. You aren't burning as much since you don't have rehearsal or performances. So it makes sense that you are eating less. But you still ate a good portion of food. I'm actually not worried right now about that. If it gets extreme again we can revisit it. But right now you are doing great. This may have been low carb. But it had full fat cheese and full fat ranch dressing. I'm not worried." He was proud of her for how hard she work to get healthy but also for having this conversation. It was always hard talking about her weight and d her issues with food that had been ingrained in her for so long.
"Well I'm happy to hear you say that because I made homemade ice cream for dessert." She watched his eyes light up. "Really?" He was super excited for it. "Yup! I made raspberry ice cream." She smiled proud of herself. "Oh I'm gonna love every second of this!" He leaned in to kiss her. "I do a lot of fruit ice creams over the summer months. So be prepared. I even got a second freezer bowl for the maker." She watched his eyes light up. "Sounds amazing! Maybe we could plant some berry plants to help with that?" He offered knowing fruit was expensive. "Maybe we need to see what the deer situation is here. Would suck to plant them for the deer to eat everything." Kim shrugged. "Didn't think about that. Will have to look into that." He got up to help her clean up the kitchen.
"What else did you do today?" He asked as they worked to clean up. "Um well I used the new reformer and I actually liked it. Obviously not fancy like my other one but it works well for the basic needs. I think you would use this one." She winked knowing he's put it off. "Alright let me change! I will try it." He gave in knowing he should try it. Especially since she loved it so much. It wasn't too long before he returned in work out clothes and headed towards her studio. She was already in there moving the reformer to the middle of the room. His arms were longer so they needed more space to move. "Are you ready?" He asked with a gleam in her eyes. "Yeah let's do this!" He tried to sound excited but he was not sure about it. "Alright I will demonstrate and then you will repeat that move okay?" She watched him nod. She got into the first position which was easy and a beginner move but it was perfect to start him on. "That actually doesn't look that hard." He was intrigued by it. "It more about using your own body strength to move the seat. No weights just your body. It strengthens and stretches you out." Kim helped him get into the right position and allowed him to move.
She was so happy watching him use the machine. They did 10 different exercises before she let him off the hook for the night. She watched him stretch a bit as they exited the room. "So tell me for real. What did you think of it?" She was very curious how he felt about it. She watched him take a drink of water. "Actually I really liked that. I'm not sure about the top part but what I just did was great. Low impact but I still felt the burn, the stretch. I will have to do that more often. And we can do more next time. So maybe we need two of those so we can work out together?" He watched her gasp excitedly. "Omg really? I would love that! Thank you!" She jumped up to hug him tight. He held her tight loving how happy she was.
"Alright how about some ice cream?" She asked moving towards her freezer. "Yes I'm excited to try this ice cream you made." He was actually really excited for this. He loved food and he loved how Kim always worked to step it up in the kitchen. He watched her scoop the ice cream into bowls. And then watched as she placed chocolate syrup on the counter top as well just in case he wanted it. He took the first bite knowing he was being watched. He eyes lighting up brightly. "My god that is so good! I'm gonna try it with the chocolate now." She watched him moaning in happiness again. "Yeah we are gonna have to work out more if you keep cooking like this." He kissed her hard before moving them to the couch to finish dessert. The empty bowls placed on the coffee table as they cuddled together. "I really like this. The calm this place brings you. The happiness this place brings you. I know it's only been a couple of days but it's so good for you." He saw her smiling at him.
"Yeah. I think this is where I was meant to be. It's beyond peaceful. I think that is what I love the most." She looked at the windows wistfully. "Well tomorrow my darling you will have more time outside with all the new furniture. It will be more comfortable that's for sure." He kissed the side of her head. They stayed there for a while before moving to put the bowls in the dishwasher. He started the dishwasher and then headed back to Kim. "Are you excited for tomorrow?" He whispered holding her tight. "Yeah I'm excited to see what you planned. I know it will be fun whatever it is. Because no matter what we do it's always fun." She wiggled her eye brows giggling. He scooped her up laughing with her but carried her to their bed.
"You ready for some fun?" He asked chuckling with her. "Always ready to have fun with you. In our room or outside our room." Kim sat up pulling him closer to her. "What kind of fun are looking for tonight?" He knew she was up for anything but she also loved playing with him. "I didn't have a plan in mind just love having fun with you." She smiled starting to unbutton his shirt as she spoke. "Well I think that can arranged. Let me grab a few things to toy with you." He smirked leaving her hanging. But she took the time to undress and get comfortable waiting for him. When he returned he saw her lying face down, her legs bent upwards with her feet locked together. Her upper body propped up with her hands under her chin. She looked very angelic but also very devilish. "Well damn! You look amazing." He watched as she moved her arms to prop herself up in a yoga stretch. Her breasts hanging in front of her.
"Love how flexible you are. Love how comfortable you flaunting your hot body in front of me." He walked closer showing her the items hidden behind his back, whipped cream and chocolate syrup. She smiled wide leaning further almost in half before pulling her legs from under her. She watched him gasp loudly. "Crazy flexible! How the hell did you do that?" He leaned over her naked body. "Years of dancing and yoga. So let's start playing." She laid out letting him do what he wanted to her. He smiled wickedly loving the control she was giving him. "Sleep my darling. I love you, my love!" He whispered as he watched her drifting off. "Good night baby! I love you too!" Kim mumbled as she fell asleep in his arms. He watched her sleeping for a bit before letting himself sleep. He loved knowing this place was already bringing her such peace. The next morning he woke before her seeing how wrapped up she was with his body. He chuckled softly loving how crazy she looked. He rubbed her back slow,y trying to wake her gently. "Darling time to wake up." He ran his fingers up and down her arms. He felt her starting to wake a bit moaning softly feeling his fingers on her body. "You may want to see how crazy you look right now." He whispered as she lifted her head looking at her body sprawled out over his.
"What can I say? My man's comfy!" She laughed before giving him a proper good morning kiss. "I'm not complaining. Was just very surprised. I've never seen you like that." He was surprised but was enjoying it. "I only crash out like that when I'm really relaxed or really exhausted. But it normally means my back hurts later from the bad position." She moved slightly but stayed on top of him. "Well if it hurts later I promise I will massage it for you. But I think we should get up before the delivery people show up." He watched her nod sadly. "I know baby! Later we can play again." He kissed her before helping her up. He heard her groaning in discomfort. He could tell she was stiff already. They got dressed and headed to the studio to stretch some.
Adam started making coffee and breakfast for them both. He knew she didn't plan on working out just yet or at all. But she needed to stretch out the discomfort. He entered a bit later to let her know breakfast was ready. He saw her eyes light up. She was normally hungry in the morning especially after a night full of intimacy. "Thank you for cooking! I just need to stretch out a bit." She spoke as she followed him. "I figured that's why I cooked. I knew you wouldn't be long and that you are normally hungry in the mornings now." He watched her sit with her plate. She started to eat but knew she needed to confess something that he probably already knew. "Honestly I was always hungry. I just tried to ignore it all the time or ate veggies to fill me up without too many calories." She watched him nod, squeezing her hand. "I figured that. But I appreciate you telling me that. Those first few days really scared me. I was afraid you had an actual eating disorder and not just some stupid strict diet plan. I'm just so happy that you heard me and you took my words to heart. I'm so proud of you!" He made he held eye contact the whole time. So she could see the sincerity in his words.
"I'm really proud of myself for trusting you. And for trusting Antonio in finding me a better why you live. Did I tell you the director is going to look into getting Antonio to make diet plans for all of full time dancers?" Kim asked not sure if she had mentioned it. "Really? That's awesome! How did that even come up?" He had no idea that was happening. "Well he was talking to me about a few things, the budgets being one of them. But that's not the point. He wanted to know how I stayed so injury free this year so far. So I explained that I got a better diet plan worked up based on my fitness level and now that I'm healthier and stronger I've been able to avoid injury. He was shocked. But I showed him the plan and he suggested getting new plans made up to help all of us. When we are healthier and have less injuries the insurance costs stay lower which helps the budget." Kim was happy how things worked out.
"That's awesome! That will help out so many people but also help out Antonio if your director uses him. That's great all around. What are the other budget issues?" Adam wasn't sure but hoped it didn't affect Kim's contract extension. "So the orchestra is up for contract renewal. They were told there was no money in the budget for raises. If they strike we get shut down. That affects hundreds of jobs. Not just the dancers but all the set people,lighting people, the cleaners, make up, hair, costumes. It would be a nightmare for so many people who live paycheck to paycheck. So we talked about a plan to prevent that. And in the end it worked out for everyone." Kim shrugged a bit. "How did it work out?" He was curious what she gave up if anything.
"Don't worry. I gave up nothing. Just convinced the director that we don't need closing Galas all the time. And that the donors would still donate the same amount if he just explained we are trying to divert a strike. And prevent hundreds of people from being out of work. And surprisingly the donors gave more stating they didn't really enjoy all the galas but went because they felt obligated. Needless to say everyone is thrilled. Less galas, more money for the orchestra and extra money to fix things that need to be upgraded." Kim smiled loving how things worked out. "That's amazing! You should be proud of yourself! You did so much good for so many people and stopped all the nonsense. That's so great Kim!" He walked over to hug her tight. He was so proud of her and her good business sense. "Thank you! I just couldn't let all those people struggle more than they already do. Last year one of the cleaners had a bad accident and was out of work for a few weeks without pay. I found out where she lived and sent groceries to her home to help feed her family. And I never told her. I just wanted to help and knew she wouldn't take it if she knew it was from me." Kim shrugged a bit.
"How did I get so lucky to have you in my life? You are just such an amazing person with such a large heart! Just another reason I love you damn much!" He kissed her hard but pouring all the love he felt for her into the kiss. "I'm the lucky one. You are making all my dreams come true. You have made me stronger, healthier, happier but most of all alive. I feel more alive than I have in years and that is all because of you." She him just as hard as he had kissed her. Only broken apart by the knock on the door. They broke apart, foreheads still touching panting. "I will grab the door." He kissed her forehead and headed to the door. Adam went outside showing the movers where to place all the furniture the couple had ordered. But Kim was thrilled seeing the outside coming together. She cleaned up the kitchen while the furniture was placed around. It was productive in her mind.
Less than an hour later the delivery people left the couple alone to see how it all looked. Kim was excited seeing how the deck looked, Adam was thrilled with the grill. They headed down to the dock to see how it turned out. "What do you think?" He asked seeing her looking around. "I like it a lot! I think it just needs an outdoor rug. To bring it together. And maybe a few more decorative pieces. But I love this. The chairs are so comfortable. This is the best money we have ever spent." Kim smiled staring out at the water. Adam walked up behind her wrapping his arms around her. "This was all I wanted for you, for us. Happy and at peace. Glowing brightly." He felt her melting into his embrace. "Maybe we could stay here for a bit?" She asked not wanting to move just yet. "Of course. We have no where to be just yet. So let's curl up on the couch together." They had bought several outdoor couches with cushions so they could snuggle up looking over the water. And they weren't going to waste a second of that time together.
"Baby when is your birthday?" Kim asked having an idea for a gift. "Not till August why?" He knew she was thinking something. "I had an idea for a present that I think you would like." She looked over at him. "Oh do tell?" He was very interested. "I was thinking could get a double kayak so we can go out on the lake together." She wasn't sure if he had ever done that but it was good exercise. "That's a great idea! Boats are tons of work so this would be a great way to get out on the water but also get some exercise. Let's definitely look into it." He kissed the side of her head loving how her mind worked. "Yeah no boats! The best kind of boat is someone else's!" Kim laughed. "Absolutely agree!" He laughed with her. "You know this summer we need to do this hot tub thing on the river. You rent this big hot tub and you enjoy it while floating down the river. It looks really cool." Kim looked back to see him excited about. "Where do you find these things?" He asked unsure how she knew about all the classes and fun things in Chicago. "Instagram. One page I follow lists free events for each month. Free days at the different museums. And tons of things to do all over the city. I'm trying to find lots of stuff for us to try. And lots of new experiences. It's exciting. And I save the posts of stuff I want to try and even some restaurants I want to try." She handed him her phone so he could see the posts she had saved.
"Definitely lots of good stuff on here. And I like these restaurants you picked. And I want to go to this ice cream place. It's an institution around here and the lines are long but we are doing it!" He laughed excited for the adventure ahead with Kim. "This was how I planned our last date day. Just looking online for things I saved. Once it's a bit warmer we are checking these things off the list. It's going to be a fun summer for sure." Kim couldn't wait to get started in the fun times. "Oh and before I forget I added a few things to the calendar for food tastings and cake tastings for the wedding. I want to get the food tasting done soon so we can get the invitations started. We are little over 6 months out from getting married!" Kim smiled wide thinking about it.
"I'm so excited for that! I can't wait to get all the planning over so we can just enjoy the time leading up to the wedding. I don't want you stressed the weeks leading up to it." He knew she would be hella stressed out those few weeks. "You are probably very right about that. But I'm going to try my best not to go nuts over it." She knew she would be a mess but she would try her best to maintain normalcy. "I'm sure you will go nuts but it will be worth it. I already know it. And I will do my best to help keep you calm." He promised knowing she needed it. "Thank you but I really will try to stay calm during the process but I already know I want it to be perfect. And I will worry about something going wrong. I want to give you, give us the perfect day." She admitted knowing he knew that already. "Well Kaitlyn can help. That's what you pay her for. So no stressing!" He tried to be stern but she just laughed knowing it would happen no matter what.
They hung out a bit longer before heading inside to really start the day. They had plans later to celebrate Kim's birthday. She had no idea what was coming but she was excited. The couple showered and got dressed before they headed out for the night. They were dressed causal but still appropriate for the occasion, Adam tried to make sure Kim didn't get too dressed up. She tended to be more dressed up than not. And heels weren't appropriate for tonight. They headed out in Kim's car which had been tinted out for her privacy. As they got closer Adam covered her eyes so he could surprise her. As he parked he moved her out if the car and headed inside the location. He had even covered her ears to block out all the noises. As they arrived in front of their friends he removed the ear buds and then uncovered her eyes seeing everyone yelling surprise. Kim yelled in excitement seeing everyone there to support her birthday.
Adams team and friends, Kim's friends from work, Keith and Nicole and others from out east. It was crazy how many people came to celebrate with her. She ran around hugging everyone. She saw Nicole yelling louder. "You bitch! How didn't you tell me!" She laughed knowing she wouldn't take offense. "Oh please! This was fun! So excited to be here. And we are spending the night at your new place." Nicole told her as Kim squealed in surprise. She ran back to Adam jumping into his arms so happy he did this for her. It was only then she realized where they were. "Bowling? I have never done this! Let's do this!" Kim cheered excitedly. "Another thing off the list and it's black light bowling so it's even cooler." He watched her as she got more excited. Everyone was shocked how excited she was but happy to be a part of this knowing how hard Adam worked to make this happen.
"Honestly didn't think she would be this excited about bowling." Kevin was shocked seeing her trying to find a ball that wasn't too heavy for her. "Well she never got to try this as a kid so she wants to try everything she missed out on. And I love helping give her these experiences. It's fun watching her act like a kid, her child like glee keeps me pushing to do this for her." He was watching her laughing with her friends and dragging Erin into the group. The entire group started to take to the lanes trying their best to beat each other. It was crazy competitive and super loud but everyone was having a great time. The first game Kim struggled but with a little help and some advice from an unlikely source, Mouch, Kim was able to do better even getting a few strikes in her second game. She cheered loudly each time.
As the second game came to an end the cake was brought out as everyone sang to Kim. She blushed by also cried tears of joy. She truly couldn't believe all these people came out to support her. She was surprised when Erin stood up to speak. "So Kim we just wanted to let you know how much we all love you. And how amazing of a partner you are to Adam. He's happier than we could have ever imagined. With that said he wanted to buy you a birthday present but knew you needed nothing so we all came together to make a donation in your honor to the Dizzy Feet Foundation." Erin finished just as Kim tan over to hug her in tears. "Thank you! Thank you all! That is truly the best gift I could have ever received." Kim walked around hugging everyone once again truly impressed by the kindness they all showed her.
As she continued to thank everyone she was asked one really important question. "Kim we are very curious what the dizzy feet foundation is? We are happy to support it knowing it's so important to you but what does it do?" Platt asked as she had never heard of it before and she knew most charities. "I'm so glad you asked. So it gives underprivileged children the ability to learn to dance. To try to keep them off the streets, off drugs and out of the gangs. Dancing is a very expensive activity for kids so this is how we help them. They also sponsor National Dance Day. Which is essentially a flash mob in like 5 cities over the US. Each city has a different dance style. It's crazy but fun." Kim explained loving her charity of choice. "That's great! Anything to keep kids off the streets is good in my books." Platt replied happily. "Ballet has also been predominantly white people since he came to America so they also work hard to bring diversity to the stage. Even overseas it's mostly white people so anything that promotes diversity is good in my book." Kim explained further.
"I don't think I knew that! But that's very interesting. But you are right promoting diversity is a good thing for sure." Platt was impressed by the charity but also how passionate Kim was about it. Shortly after Kim was pulled away by the ladies giggling loudly. Adam walked over to Platt. "The fire in her right?" Adam asked knowing how she was feeling. "Yeah. I love how passionate she is about it. It's impressive. Especially for someone like her." Platt didn't mean it as a dig but Kim was rich. "Growing up from nothing, struggling for everything made her like this. And this is only one of her charities. She has tons more that she supports but this is like a passion project for her. She's even training for dance day this year here in Chicago. Which is kind of funny because it's hip hop. Totally outside her comfort zone but she's determined to do it. But the fire just burns so hot inside her." He smiled watching her playing another game.
"You did good Ruz!" Jay smiled as the guys gathered around to talk. "Thanks. This was all I wanted for her. Relaxed, happy, having fun, shining bright. She really has a beautiful heart and soul. And she really just brings so much joy into my life. I didn't realize how much I was missing in life till I met her. And her passion for charity has inspired me to want to do better, to be better. I want to feel more her equal in more ways. I know she doesn't think less of me but sometimes I don't feel like I'm good enough because I'm just a cop. But seeing her like this from something so simple lets me know she doesn't care about that." He was still watching her as he spoke. "Yeah money doesn't matter to her. She cares about you and this life you have created together. But you give her something money can't buy, experiences. You allow her to live, be free happily. That's more important than money." Antonio knew money didn't always buy happiness. And these two were proof of that. They were happy just doing nothing together. And most people wouldn't be.
As the night came to an end people started to leave. Kim made sure she hugged each person and thanked them for coming. She was very humbled by the out pouring of love for her. Kims friends were the last to leave since they were coming back to the house with them. The two couples headed back to the lake for the night. They arrived Nicole couldn't believe what the house looked like now. She had seen a photo from before the work was done but it looked like a completely different home now. "Guys this is beautiful! I would have never thought this was the same house." Nicole was so shocked. Kim gave them the tour before taking them down to the dock. "This is the perfect place for you Kim. You are always so much happier on the water. I can't wait till we are all on vacation again. Rummikub tournament again this year!" Keith laughed. "Oh I'm gonna kick your ass again!" Kim laughed knowing she won the one the year before.
"We should play tonight!" Nicole stated loudly. "Adam's never played but yes! Let's play so we can get him up to speed." Kim laughed dragging him up the dock. "What is this game?" He was confused. "It's kind of like normal rummy with tiles and you can steal tiles from the table to get more tiles out of your hand. We will explain once we start. It's fun and addictive." Kim laughed as she grabbed the box out of the closet. They all sat down at the table and explained the rules to Adam. As they started to play the digs started. Kim helped Adam play knowing it was hard for a first time player. He had to admit it was fun. And they laughed for hours playing this game. They all headed to bed around 1am wiped out from the day.
The couple headed to their room for the night tired but still smiling. "Thank you Adam! This whole night has been amazing. I can't believe you did all this for me." She hugged him tight. "You are so very welcome! I loved watching you shine all night. Your friends are hilarious and that game was fun. Getting to screw everyone over grabbing the tiles they needed first. Great fun and lots of laughter. We need to teach more people to play it too." He was exhausted but had had a great time. "Well we made need the 6 player version too." She watched him smiling. "Yes! I will order it tomorrow! Till then let's get some sleep. Love you darling!" He helped her in bed laying next to her. "Good my love. Thank you again for tonight." She gave him one last kiss before drifting off to sleep wrapped in his arms.
