Meanwhile, SpongeBob, Patrick, and the cows plopped on the ground at Gull Park, exhausted from running.
"How far is it to Audubon?" asked Patrick.
"We...we must be close by now." panted SpongeBob.
"Hey, look! We're here!" Grace said, pointing at Audubon.
"Well, I take my hat off to you, gentlemen," Mrs. Caloway said as she helped herself up. "But you've got us here in one piece."
"All in the line of duty...AS HALL MONI..." SpongeBob started to exclaim when he heard a...
"Shh!"
"Wolfie!" Grace exclaimed on seeing him bound from one of the play structures.
"Hey, what's up, li'l cat-dog?" Maggie asked as she fist-bumped Wolfie, who asked back. "I think the better question is...what took so long? And where's the Princess?"
Mrs. Caloway sighed. "Things got...complicated."
"That's why we're here to find Erika and tell her what happened." added Maggie.
"Hmm, well, you're gonna have to get past him." Wolfie said, pointing his paw at the guard who had refused to let Anneliese in earlier.
SpongeBob and Patrick looked at each other, then at their uniforms, then back again, raising their eyebrows in symmetry.
As the guard saw them crossing the street, he called. "Who goes there?"
SpongeBob cleared his throat, then exclaimed loudly in a manly voice. "'TIS WE...THE HALL MONITOR PATROL!"
The guard raised an eyebrow, saying. "Hall Monitor Patrol? Pfft! Never heard of you."
"The...uh...Princess sent for us." fibbed Patrick.
"Oh, really?" asked the guard, who noticed Wolfie and the cows behind Spongebob and Patrick. "And since when were animals included in this patrol?"
"Oh, I'm glad you asked." said SpongeBob. "See, this dog, Snoopy saved me and Patrick, and our friend, Nathan, from two other dogs..."
"You don't have to tell me the whole story." the guard cut him off. "I'm convinced enough. Go on in."
As they passed by, Patrick handed the guard a Gummy Krabby Patty, saying. "For your troubles."
"Oh, thanks." said the guard.
Once they were inside, Wolfie said. "Come on! This way!"
SpongeBob, Patrick, and the cows followed him to the library. But before they could go inside, they heard the Queen say. "Everything seems to be in order."
"Quick! Into the Johns!" Maggie said as she pushed SpongeBob, Patrick, Mrs. Caloway, Grace and Wolfie into the nearest restroom.
"But I don't have to go." said Patrick, who poked his head out, along with the others, to see the Queen with Erika, Dominck, and Ambassador Bismarck, to whom she said. "Thank you, Ambassador. The kingdoms will be officially joined after the wedding tomorrow. Are you ready, darling?"
"Me?" Erika chuckled nervously. "Well..."
As she cleared her throat, Dominick came up to her, holding a little white box, saying. "For my bride-to-be."
Erika took the box, which she opened to see a gleaming wedding ring.
"Whoa!"
She looked up at Dominick with her own loving eyes.
But the moment was cut short by the sound of two screeching cars.
At the same time, Captain Melonhead and Splinter had slipped inside Audubon by leaping from the pathway to the roof, where they could see Preminger getting out of his car.
"Guards, seize her!" he called, pointing at Erika, whom the guards grabbed.
"Preminger!" cried the Queen.
"What the devil is going on here?" asked Ambassador Bismarck.
From where she and the others were hiding, Maggie caught a glimpse of Preminger...and Mr. Maximilian, whispering. "It's them, the princess nappers!"
"Get your hands off me!" demanded Erika.
"Release the Princess!" Dominick demanded as well.
"This...'Princess' is nothing but an imposter!" revealed Mr. Maximilian.
"Are you telling me, sir, that I don't know my own daughter?" asked the Queen, to whom Preminger bowed while saying. "We only discovered the truth just now, Your Majesty. Have you not wondered why we haven't seen Julian lately? He's been conspiring with the imposter! Together, they took the Princess and hid her in the Royal Mine so...so she could take her place, marry King Dominick and take over the school!"
While watching from their hiding place, SpongeBob, Patrick, the cows and Wolfie frowned at what Preminger was saying.
So did Dominick, who asked. "And what proof do you have of this ridiculous story?"
"Once Mr. Maximilian and I discovered this treachery," Preminger went on. "We tried to rescue the Princess, but it was too late. They sabotaged the mine, collapsing it."
He pulled out Anneliese's ring from his coat pocket and showed it to the Queen, saying. "I'm afraid this is all my workers found in the rubble."
"No!" the Queen gasped, turning away as she shook her head. "It can't be true!"
Erika couldn't believe what she was hearing. Neither did SpongeBob, Patrick, the cows and Wolfie.
"Bring her over!" Preminger ordered the guards, then turned to the Queen. "See if the royal birthmark is on her shoulder. I dare you."
The guards dragged Erika to the Queen, who was hesitant at first, but reluctantly lowered Erika's dress sleeve, only to see that she had no birthmark on her shoulder.
"It's true!" she gasped, turning away from Erika, who pulled her sleeve back up...before Midas pulled off the blonde wig, revealing her brown hair while Mr. Minimum snickered evilly.
On seeing this, Maggie started to charge, like she almost did to the Kankers, but once again, Mrs. Caloway held her back, saying. "No, Maggie! You'll give us away!"
Dominick stared at Erika, crushed that he had been fooled. "I don't believe it."
"I...I'm sorry," apologized Erika. "But I'd never hurt Anneliese or anybody else!"
"Apologize all you want," Mr. Maximilian coldly said to her as he pushed Dominick aside. "But that won't patch up the trouble you've caused. Take her away!"
The guards did as they were told, taking a struggling Erika with them.
"I...I just wanted to save the Princess! From him!" she tried to explain, pointing at Preminger, who ordered. "See to it she's locked up tight!"
As the Queen hurried into the office to hide her tears, Ambassador Bismarck shook his head, saying. "Unbelievable! It's...it's an outrage!"
Dominick glanced back to see Erika being dragged out of sight, then followed Ambassador Bismarck.
Seeing that it was the right time, Mr. Maximilian handed Preminger a ring box, saying. "I believe it's your move."
Preminger nodded, grinning maliciously, as he put the ring box inside his coat, from which he pulled out his lilac-scented perfume, spraying it on himself again.
Maggie could smell the perfume from an inch away, saying. "As we suspected!"
She led her fellow cows, SpongeBob, Patrick and Wolfie from the restroom to the office, where Preminger had went inside to see the Queen drying her tears, saying. "So many problems. I think I can help."
"You can't bring my daughter back." said the Queen.
"True. But I can provide the answer to saving Audubon." said Preminger. "You see, thanks to Mr. Maximilian, my business trip turned out quite successful. You could say I...struck gold! I'm as wealthy as King Dominick."
SpongeBob, Patrick, the cows and Wolfie peeked through the window just as Preminger started to sing.
Preminger:
Well, your good luck has departed
And your people soon will starve.
Au revoir to your foie gras and cheese fondues
But because I'm so good hearted,
Half my fortune I will carve
I feel your pain so how could I refuse?
But to give me some incentive,
There's just one thing I require,
And it's something that you'd never even use
And it's nothing that inventive,
Just the one thing I desire:
This simple crown...yes, how could I refuse?
Oh, don't let your spirits falter,
I've a ring box in my hand
And I've booked a band, so grab your dancing shoes
And come with me to the altar
Save the school as you planned
Yes, marry me, for how can you refuse?
How can you refuse?
On seeing the golden ring placed on the box, the Queen looked away while holding out her hand, allowing Preminger to place it on her finger while laughing.
While ducking out of sight, Grace said. "This is not good."
"You can say that again." agreed Maggie.
"This is not good!" repeated Patrick. "Uh, I knew I was gonna do that."
Mrs. Caloway stared at him, then shook her head.
"We're gonna need some help." said SpongeBob.
"My thoughts exactly." agreed Maggie. "You guys get your team together while we do the same for ours. Let's move!"
As they split up, Captain Melonhead turned to Splinter.
"You heard 'em, Plank. We gotta get help too…and hope we get it right this time."
They bounded off the roof and through the pathway, embarking on their search.
"What do they take us for, a couple of buffoons? Trying to marry you off to a...to a pauper?!" Ambassador Bismarck ranted as he and Dominick stepped inside the carriage, where the King said. "It doesn't make sense."
"I should say not." Ambassador Bismarck said as he stepped in as well. "The sooner we leave, the happier I'll be!"
Locked inside the annex room, Erika pulled out her walkie-talkie, calling. "Nathan! Nathan, pick up!"
But all she heard was a static sound.
"Nathan, please! Pick up!" Erika called again.
But there was still nothing.
Feeling that she let everyone down, including Anneliese, Erika plopped down on a bean bag chair, singing softly to herself.
Erika:
Do a plié and never fall,
Don't ever stray from protocol
All through the day
There's just one way
You must behave
Do keep a grip and never crack
Stiff upper lip...
She started to sniffle while trying to sing again…
Erika:
Stiff upper lip...
…only to break down into tears.
