"Mamo-chan, when I'm with you, I get you involved in it too," Usagi whispered into the quiet of her room, her voice trembling with uncertainty. "I only make you suffer. Maybe I shouldn't be with you." Tears welled in her eyes as she recalled the times he had faced danger because of her, his sacrifices, and the moments of anguish that had etched themselves into their shared history. The very thought of leading him into harm's way felt unbearable like a dark cloud looming over her heart.
"But haven't you know that my dream is to be by your side like this forever?" she continued, a spark of hope igniting her despite the fear. "I can't imagine a world without you, and yet, every moment we share feels like a countdown to the next battle. What if keeping my distance is the only way to ensure your safety?" Usagi paced the room, her mind racing about what could happen if she made the ultimate sacrifice for love.
As doubts swirled in her mind, she remembered the bond they shared, forged through countless trials and tribulations. Her heart ached at the notion of being apart, yet the thought of Mamoru suffering because of her felt like a wound that would never heal. The memories of their laughter, their shared dreams, and the warmth of his presence flooded her thoughts, reminding her that love could be both a sanctuary and a battlefield.
In the depths of her turmoil, Usagi realized that perhaps the answer would lay in their distance. "This is the most heartbreaking battle I'm willing to take for you, Mamo-chan... by pushing you away," she pondered aloud, as she started to wipe her tears. The weight of her decision bore down on her heart like a heavy stone, each tear that fell seemed to echo the pain of her choice. She felt like a fragile glass ornament, beautiful yet easily shattered by the very feelings that once brought her joy.
Suddenly, her communicator rang, a jarring reminder of her responsibilities. She opened it to see Luna's frantic face on the screen, relaying the urgent news that Sailor Mercury was under attack. Even in her shrunken and momentarily powerless state, Usagi knew she couldn't let her friend face danger alone. With a surge of determination, she left Mamoru's side, her heart heavy yet resolute, sprinting toward the chaos that awaited her.
As she ran, she caught sight of the young adult Chibiusa, her own heart lifting momentarily at the sight of her future daughter.
"Usagi!" Chibiusa called out, urgency lacing her voice. "I felt it too; Ami-chan is in danger. We've got to help her!" There was a fire in Chibiusa's eyes, a fierce conviction that reminded Usagi of the strength they all shared as a team. Usagi nodded in agreement, rallying her own courage. Together, they raced toward Ami's home, the air thick with tension and the weight of their unspoken fears.
When they finally reached Ami's house, the scene that greeted them was shocking. The once-orderly space was now a battlefield; furniture lay strewn across the floor, the curtains hung in tatters, and shards of glass glimmered ominously like fallen stars. Their hearts sank as they spotted Sailor Mercury in her Senshi form, bravely battling a menacing enemy whose striking blue eyes and long, wavy hair sent shivers down Usagi's spine. The villain's hair, a vibrant cascade that shifted from blue to turquoise, framed his face and hinted at the power he wielded.
"Mercury!" Usagi called out, her voice cutting through the chaos. Sailor Mercury, momentarily startled, turned to them, relief washing over her features. "Usagi-chan! Chibiusa-chan!" she exclaimed, her spirit visibly lifted by their presence.
Despite the urgency of the situation, Usagi exchanged a glance with Chibiusa, her eyes filled with determination. "It's sink or swim! Let's try to transform!" she commanded, and Chibiusa, her resolve matching Usagi's, nodded silently. They raised their hands, their voices ringing out in unison, a harmonious blend of power and hope.
"Moon Crisis Make-Up!" they shouted, the familiar rush of energy enveloping them as they transformed back into their heroic selves. "Super Sailor Moon!" Chibiusa declared, her heart swelling with pride as she looked at her friend, the embodiment of strength before her.
"Super Sailor Chibi Moon!" Usagi echoed, mirroring Chibiusa's joy. But their moment of triumph was short-lived; the enemy, alarmed by their transformation, began to summon an attack, his malevolent aura thickening the air around them. Without hesitation, Super Sailor Moon sprang into action, her instincts taking over, and Super Sailor Chibi Moon followed suit, ready to support her mother.
"Moon Gorgeous Meditation!" they shouted in unison, their combined powers surging forward to strike the enemy. The blast of energy hit him squarely, and with a final, defiant scream, he vanished into the air, leaving behind only a trace of the chaos he had wrought.
As the dust settled, Super Sailor Moon turned to Sailor Mercury, her heart swelling with relief. "You're both back to your usual selves!" Mercury exclaimed, her smile brightening the dim aftermath. But even amidst the joy of victory, Super Sailor Chibi Moon felt a storm brewing inside her, a whirlwind of emotions that twisted uncomfortably in her chest.
She looked at Super Sailor Moon, the girl everyone relied on, the strong and beautiful Usagi, and bitterness swelled within her. "I knew this all along," she thought, her heart aching. "Even if we possess the same Legendary Silver Crystal... the same items... I'm nothing like her."
With tears brimming in her eyes, Chibiusa raised her hand, the carillon she held ringing out a soft, melancholic chime. "Twinkle Yell!" she called, her voice tinged with a mix of hope and despair.
The power of the carillon summoned a Pegasus in a soul form. "Maiden…" he talked, his voice resonating like a gentle chime in the stillness of the night.
"Helios…," Super Sailor Chibi Moon responded, her heart heavy with a tumult of emotions. "You were wrong." She bowed her head, tears glistening in her eyes like stars against the dark backdrop of the evening sky. "I'm not the maiden you're looking for!" Her voice trembled, the weight of her words hanging in the air.
Super Sailor Moon stood in confusion, her brow furrowing as she tried to piece together the fragments of this startling revelation. "The maiden Helios is looking for?" she echoed, her tone laced with a mix of curiosity and concern.
"The maiden I seek possesses a beautiful dream," Helios stated, his ethereal form shimmering with an otherworldly glow. His eyes, deep pools of wisdom, bore into Sailor Moon's, as if trying to unveil the truth hidden within. "She's the princess and Guardian protected by the moonlight." His voice softened, filled with reverence as he continued. "The chosen maiden with the sacred gem that unlocks the Golden Crystal's seal."
"What?" Super Sailor Moon reacted in shock, her mind racing to comprehend the gravity of Helios's words, which struck her like a lightning bolt. The mention of the Golden Crystal stirred a familiar yet distant memory within her. Super Sailor Chibi Moon, unable to bear the weight of the revelation, cried harder, her sobs echoing the turmoil brewing within them all.
Seizing the moment, Super Sailor Mercury stepped forward, her analytical mind already piecing together the puzzle. "Could that maiden be Super Sailor Moon—I mean, Princess Serenity?" she proposed, her voice steady yet filled with a hint of astonishment.
Helios turned his gaze toward Super Sailor Moon, his expression both hopeful and desperate. "Sailor Moon. Are you Princess Serenity?" The question hung in the air, heavy with the implications of destiny and duty.
Super Sailor Chibi Moon couldn't take the overwhelming situation any longer; her emotions spiraled like a whirlwind, and she bolted from the house, leaving behind the young adult guardians who were caught in the crossfire of fate. "Chibi Moon!" Super Sailor Moon called out, panic rising in her voice as she rushed to the door.
"Oh, my…" Mercury whispered, her heart aching for the young girl whose dreams were now tangled in the web of prophecy and expectation. She turned her focus back to Helios, noting the urgency in his fading form.
As if sensing the urgency of their plight, Helios' soul form began to flicker, his outline becoming less distinct as the light that surrounded him began to dim. "You must understand," he said, his voice growing fainter, "the fate of this world rests on the shoulders of the one who holds the key to the Golden Crystal. The war against darkness cannot be won without her light."
Super Sailor Moon felt a surge of determination rise within her, her heart pounding as she grasped the gravity of the situation. "I will find her!" she declared, her voice resolute, but deep down, uncertainty lingered. The weight of the prophecy threatened to crush her spirit. "I will help Chibi Moon, and I will discover who this maiden truly is."
With those words, the tension in the room shifted, the air thick with both hope and trepidation as they prepared to chase after the truth, the moonlight guiding their path forward in the darkness that lay ahead.
