*Picks up from the previous chapter. This is a small take I thought of*

Luna- 11

Will wanted to stop treating Ray because now it was starting to slowly endanger his daughter. The words that Hank said played over in his head, he could lose Luna. That wasn't happening. Not a chance in seven hells. But he also had an oath to uphold as a doctor he couldn't abandon him, it wouldn't be right.

One evening he had to take his daughter to Gia for her visit, one of Ray's sons called Will over, needing them to look at their father. Will knew if he brought his daughter over there, Gia would have his head. He didn't wanna ruin his co-parenting relationship with her and he couldn't endanger his daughter. What the hell had he gotten himself into?

He started the drive to Ray's but he was going to keep his daughter in the car, he still had a feeling Gia would have his head. After a short drive he arrived at Ray's house, Luna had been falling asleep in the back seat. He smiled, he opened his door and went to check on her when he opened the door she woke up.

"Dad?" She says sleepily.

"Shh it's alright little star, I have to make a quick stop before I take you to your mom" Will replies softly. "I won't be long. You go back to sleep"

He covered his daughter up and closed the door, he locked the car up and went inside. Before he went inside he quickly texted his ex saying he'd be a little late. He had no doubt in his mind Gia was going to be pissed. He had to make this fast.

Bag in hand he went to the door as Tommy opened it. "Will, good to see you"

"Hey Tommy, look I gotta make this quick. I got my daughter with me. I'm suppose to be taking her to her mom's"

"We'll try. Dad had another dizzy spell and took a small fall"

Will followed him, the older man was on the couch his other sons gathered around him. Ray was shooing them away. The redhead doctor went over to him.

"Ray, what's going on?" Will asked.

"Nothing, these boys are worry warts. I'm fine". The older man said.

"Let me give you a quick look over"

"Kid, I'm fine. Don't you have any place to be?"

"I do, I'm taking my daughter to her mom's for the week. We alternate"

"Where's the little one?"

"She's asleep in the car, she had a long day"

He felt his phone buzzing so he excused himself and saw it was his daughter's mother. He was gonna have some explaining to do and get an earful.

"Hey Gia" Will answered, trying to keep his voice straight.

"What's going on Will? Is everything alright?" Gia replied.

"Yeah, yeah. Just had to make a quick stop, the car was having some trouble. All is good"

"Will don't you dare lie to me. Where are you? Don't tell me you stopped at Burke's house"

"Gia why would I do that?"

"Then tell me where you actually are"

"I had to make a stop"

"Let me talk to Luna then"

"She's asleep, I don't wanna wake her up"

"Check your phone"

"What?"

"Just check your damn phone"

Pulling his phone away from his ear, it was a text from Gia. 'Come outside'

Frowning he told the Burke's he had to check on his daughter. When he got outside Gia was there leaning against his car. She was livid.

"You're following me?"

"And it's a damn good thing that I did. Walk with me now"

The two walked away from the house but made sure to stay by Will's car to keep watch over their daughter. Gia was fuming as she looked at him.

"You did the one thing I asked you not to do"

"They never saw her, she was in the car"

"I don't care Will! He's wanted for murder, I don't want Luna around him let alone anywhere near him. I don't want him having any leverage to use against you all it takes is for one of them to see her and that's it. They suspect anything that you're doing and Luna's a pawn. And then you lie to me about it, I thought we were past this. We don't keep secrets from each other"

"Because I as a doctor have an oath to my patients, you took a similar oath when you became a cop"

"And where's your oath as a parent? Does Luna's safety and well being not matter to you?"

He shot her a look. "Don't you dare ever question that. I've been her parent far longer than you. I was a kid, a kid raising a kid on my own with no help. I made it through school while raising her on my own while you were nowhere to be found. Luna's safety and well being is something I would never put in jeopardy. You've been her mother for a year, I've been her father for 11 years. You can't waltz in playing the mother of the year act when you want to"

Gia had gotten nose to nose with him, a look of fury in her eyes, just as she was about to say something someone had pulled them apart, it was Jay.

"Both of you enough. One you both are causing a scene and two, you're going to get Luna's attention. Now stop" Jay told them sharply.

"How did you know where we'd be?" Will asked his brother.

"Don't worry about it, but the two of you need to put an end to this before the whole case gets blown"

Gia eyed him. "You followed us"

"I did because I knew Will would do something like this and with you following him I knew you two would fight"

"We wouldn't be fighting if he had just done the one thing I asked him not to do" She glared at Will.

"I told you she was safe in the car" Will argued.

"Ok both of you enough. Gia, take Luna home I'll talk to him" Jay told his niece's mother. "Now please"

Gia just stormed away to Will's car to collect her daughter, once she had her daughter and her stuff she drove off. Jay looked at his brother with a pointed look.

"What the hell man"

"Not you too" Will shook his head.

"Need I remind you what he's wanted for Will? Why would you bring Luna with you?"

"They called me on the way when I was taking her to Gia's. It was on the way. She was asleep in the car I wasn't going to be long"

"And all it would take is one of them to look at her and it be an insistent target on her"

"Alright, I won't do it again. Satisfied?"

"I'm trying to look out for you man, you can't play dumb and add Luna into the mix"

"I'm sorry alright, I didn't plan on this happening Jay. It was a last minute decision"

"Just for now go home wait till Gia cools off to talk to her"

Will just went past his brother back to his car and drove. Instead of driving home he drove to Gia's. Gia had just put her daughter to bed and closed her door, she went down and poured herself a drink she downed it quickly and poured another.

There was a soft knock at her door. She went over to it and answered, she opened it and saw the redhead Halstead.

"Luna's in bed asleep" Gia said, crossing her arms.

"I know. I wanted to talk to you" Will replied.

"Talk or argue?"

"Gia please"

"Come in"

She let him pass and close the door. "What do you wanna talk about?"

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to bring Luna with me when I went to Ray's, I was on my way to your place. It was at the last minute, I didn't see any harm in it. I wasn't going to be long"

"What if something happened to her Will? I already lost so much time with her because of my work. I can't bear to think about losing her. She's the only light I have in my life"

"She's the light in my life too. And I know it was wrong of me to throw up the past in your face again. I didn't intend to hurt you like that, I swear. I promised when we started co-parenting together we would talk and discuss everything as a unit. Luna doesn't have just me anymore, she has you too she has both of us. We need to parent together and work as a team, we work together for her. Not against each other. It just seems like since this case, we've been at each other's throats"

"All my life I've seen my parents fight. Whether it be arguing, screaming, all out fist fights, I don't want that for her. I want Luna to have better than that. I want her to have both of us"

Tears fell from her eyes before she could wipe them away. She felt Will's soft thumbs on her cheeks wiping the tears and moisture away. The anger they both once had, melted it was gone. A softer look was on his face as he saw the mother of his daughter cry a little.

"Luna will always have us, both of us. And she will have better. I'm not gonna be my father and we won't be your parents. We will be ten times better than that. For her"

Gia just looked into his big chocolate brown eyes, they were so soft and loving. She always knew deep down she was still in love with him, this case had been forcing her true feelings out for him. When she showed her anger, she was scared for him, Scared about what could happen to him. Scared to lose him. She didn't want to lose her family.

They may not have been together but they were family, they always have been and always will be.

When Will looked into her green eyes and saw the fear, the vulnerability in them, it was almost like looking into his daughter's eyes. He understood why Gia had been acting the way she was, it was her fear. Fear of losing him and their family. He may have loved Natalie, but his heart and soul had always belonged to Gia. He was in love with Gia.

The brunette woman leaned in against his lips, their noses barely touching, almost rubbing slightly against each other. Will knew he should, his brain was screaming no. But his body was telling him something else. Before he knew it his lips were pressed against hers. Gia pressed her lips against his. They both felt the same old fire, the same passion they once had.

It was like fireworks going off, electricity coursing through both of their bodies. They never wanted to end it. Gia started moving them over to the couch as the kiss continued. All Will could think was, what the hell had he done?
