Misato fires his Revolver in front of them, gaining XP and clearing a path for Fitoria to run through, not that it mattered much to the Filolial Queen, as she leaps up into the air and crushes a spider.
"Misato, we are at the Wave Boss! Prepare yourself, I will make sure the other Monsters are not in the way!" Fitoria yells
The Gun hero turns his head forward up ahead, he sees a large spider, a little bigger than Filo's Queen bird form, with a purple skull on its back slowly crawling down a web from the Wave. Followed by smaller spiders with similar symbols, they are most likely poisonous.
Fitoria stops, and they stand at a safe distance from the boss. Earlier Misato and Fitoria tested the Revolver's range back at the Sanctuary. Soon the Queen Spider will be within Misato's effective range. The Gun hero hops off of Fitoria.
"Ok, wish me luck," Misato says reloading his revolver, after his gun is loaded, he climbs up on a nearby tree.
"Be careful Misato" Fitoria says before dashing away, killing multiple monsters in her path.
Misato looks at his stats

At least his recent kills leveled him up and thanks to the armor, he now has some decent defense stats, good against things half his level. He looks at Fitoria's massacre of monsters.
"I wish she would join my party before fighting this monster. So much XP gone…" Misato whimpers at the waste of points. He sighs, then again if he fought the boss while Fitoria gave him free XP, she would not be able to determine if he can fight without her help because he would have been constantly leveling up. Only until it's defeated will she join and help him level up.
Misato faces the Queen Spider, and raises his revolver, aiming for its eyes.
BANG
The bullet drops and hits the smaller spider in front of the boss. The Queen Spider looks at its dead child and then all of its eyes look right at Misato.
"Crap"
The Queen spider roars, charging towards the gun hero with smaller spiders in the lead. Misato, loads a bullet into the revolver and raises his gun, the reticle is slightly above the Queen Spider, and he fires.
BANG
"SQUAHHH" The boss stops, roaring in pain, missing an eye, but unfortunately, it has plenty. The Spider raises its body, it spits some sort of purple saliva toward Misato.
The gun hero leaps off the tree, the saliva hits it, and the wood and leaves begin to melt. Crap it spits acid! Misato fires, another eye is taken out, and the Queen Spider roars even louder.
"SQUAHHH"
Splat
Something hits Misato's gun arm against the ground. It's the web from a spider that stuck his arm.
"What the hell?!" Misato cries trying to pull his arm out. He turns around seeing a smaller spider shoot some web, he lies down, narrowly missing the second web. He turns the gun into the musket rifle, cutting the web, freeing the gun hero. He rolls to the side dodging another web.
Misato faces the spider which now became a group of spiders leaping toward him, he steps back, turning his revolver into the water gun. He avoids the first spider, aiming at the ground, he fires the water at high pressure, launching him away from the group. He shifts the water gun in a different direction, giving the gun hero a boost on maneuvering around the spiders and the webs that they launch.
That roar must have attracted all the other spiders that appeared before the boss. He glances and sees Fitoria ripping apart the spiders from Zeltoble, stopping some of them from attacking Misato.
He stops and faces the spiders that have gathered, with their Queen right behind them, all of them charging towards Misato. He blinds them with the orb and turns his gun into the Musket Rifle.
"Firing line!" Misato roars
ten yellow transparent glowing musket rifles appear on each side of Misato, he pulls the trigger.
BANG!
All twenty-one bullets fire, piercing several spiders, killing them, and damaging the Queen, about one third of the Queen's health is down. It staggers trying to comprehend what has happened.
"Yes!" Misato cheers
"Squee!"
Misato turns around finding a spider leaping on top of him, he raises the musket keeping the spider away from eating his face. One of its legs raises away from Misato's view and stabs him.
"GAHH!" Misato yells in pain, and his health drops from 144 to 100. Enraged by the pain, Misato raises his arm. "You son of a BITCH!" He punches the Spider in its eyes, the spider cries leaping off of the gun hero. Misato stands up and stabs the spider with the bayonet, killing it.
"SquaA!"
Misato turns around seeing the boss raising her legs up ready to stab him. Misato rolls to the side.
SMASH
He narrowly avoids the hit, the Queen's legs seemed to be twenty inches deep into the dirt where he was. With his stats, he probably would have died. Misato backs up, flashing the glass orb, blinding the Queen again. He then changes to the grass gun and pulls out a bag made of paper.
"Grass Bind!"
Misato bind's her legs, the Queen loses her balance and falls over with a cry. Misato throws the bag right in front of the spider. He switches back to the revolver. The Queen snaps the grass binds and stands up, but she is too late. The gun hero raises the gun and fires.
BOOOOOM!
The bag explodes, and metal shrapnel from the bag rips the Queen apart, she screeches, trying to move but her body would not respond. Misato raises the revolver aimed at its head.
Bang
The Queen dies. The sky begins to clear, the waves slowly disappear, and the sunlight brightens the area, nearly blinding the Gun hero.
Level up! Level up! Level u-
Misato disables notifications and drinks a health potion, he checks his level and stats
Misato Morgan: Gun Hero Lv. 19
His defense of course barely moved, while his attack stats are rising at a ridiculous pace. He turns around and finds Fitoria walking up to him, her eyes inspecting his body.
"Are you alright Misato?" Fitoria asks, looking at Misato's wounds.
"Ya I'm good," he says, patting her head. The Gun hero walks up to the Queen Spider's body and takes its body parts.

Nice, he can be Spiderman. Misato inspects the gun, it looks like a hand cannon with web detailing, and it's bigger than the revolver. Although he can only use this for the skill and nothing else like the grass and the transport gun.
Spider Fang Gun

Hit your targets with poison.
Fang gun could be useful but it could better... maybe he can use the rest of the materials to craft something else of his guns. Misato looks at the hole in the ground where the explosion was set off.
Before he came to Zeltoble, he made a few paper bags filled with Lead balls and Gunpowder, it's pretty much a crude grenade. Since his crafting level isn't high enough for a real one.
"You killed the wave boss?!"
Misato jumps, turning around, seeing the Red Lion leader, he thinks. "Ya… I did" Misato says, staring right at the guy's eye.
"Not bad for a newbie," the man says with a strained grin, as the rest of the Red Lions party arrives, some glaring at the Gun hero
Fitoria growls, which means they can't be trusted.
"Let's move…" The Red Lion leader walks away with his party.
A man in armor with the symbol of Zeltoble's country on his cape appears on a filolial.
"The Inspectors of the Adventurer's guild will inspect the body to see if you killed the boss," he says.
Some people with the Adventurers Guild symbol on their clothing, with masks over their mouths and goggles went to the corpse. The attendant who helped him sign up as an adventurer, stares at him, mouth agape, he shakes his head, puts on the mask and goggles, and inspects the corpse.
"Head back to the guild and wait there, the Guildmaster will question if you truly killed it, if correct, you will get the reward." The armored man says, walking away to protect the inspectors from the remaining monsters
The guild master is a very tall woman, standing nearly two heads taller than Misato, who is about 5'6. With orange braided hair, not red but actually orange, like the fruit. She is also a beauty in her own right, seriously what is with all the women here in this world?
She asks him to explain truthfully how he killed the boss. Misato explained in detail what he did with his weapons and the glass orb, and even did a demonstration at a targeting range.
He figured that being honest to the guild master rather than getting caught lying would be better as the inspectors no doubt noticed the number of holes that he made on the boss, no fire spells could do that not without running out of mana fast and being exposed to the boss.
"Alright, I believe you, here is the reward, thirty-one gold coins." She says handing him the bag filled with all… wait.
"thirty-one gold coins? Not that I am complaining but why the extra?" Misato asks, eyebrow raised.
"Right, the attendants didn't mention this but there is also a bonus for finishing off the boss soon under five minutes of the wave," she says with a smile
He killed that thing in less than five minutes?! Wow, he was probably quicker than the three heroes in the second wave of Melomarc in the show. Then again, the sense of time in anime is often exaggerated…
"Mordred, I suggest you be careful now in Zeltoble or leave."
"Why?"
"You are a newbie adventurer that pulled an impossible feat, some would look at you in awe, but most people here would only see you as easy prey for the gold that you have in your hands."
Crap explains the stares he got in the Guild and Fitoria giving him signals about bad people looking at them. "So why tell me this?"
The Guildmaster sits at her desk, resting her head on her hands. "Because I am curious to see more of you 'Adventurer from Faubley' and it would be a shame to see you disappear so soon after pulling off such an incredible feat. But I have a feeling that this is only the beginning" She smiles.
Her stare seems to pierce Misato, she must have some suspicion about his fake identity. He's not in immediate danger yet but he doesn't feel safe being in the same room with her alone.
"Well, in that case, I will exchange a single gold coin for silver and copper please" Misato requests, tossing a single gold coin to the woman.
She catches it "Alright then Mister Mordred," She says, grabbing the silver and copper coins. She hands the Gun hero the bags.
"Thanks for the warning, I'll see you again one day," Misato says walking out of the room.
"Goodbye Mordred~"
Fitoria, still disguised, walks down the streets, on her back is a lady in a white dress and hat. Fitoria's body shakes.
"Toria, get a hold of yourself" The lady whispers
"Sorry, Lady Misato…" She whispers, looking back with clear amusement, she struggles trying not to laugh.
'Lady' Misato sighs, yep the woman in the white dress is the Gun Hero in disguise, he's not a Shadow so he had to make do with what he can get in Zeltoble before someone tries to ambush him. Thankfully Jackie, the tailor, was more than willing to help especially when he got some extra silvers to get more durable clothing for his journey, the disguise, and to guarantee his silence for his safety and dignity.
The thieves would be looking for a young (very handsome) man in black and a white Filolial, not a young lady in white sitting on a white filolial. As for why he was still in Zeltoble. He needs gear and materials, what he is looking for the most is the Meteorite Ingots, or whatever material allows the heroes to use Meteor Skills. Unfortunately, Maria, the blacksmith from earlier, didn't have any but knows a blacksmith that does have them, and the material is called Siderite.
The reason why Misato is looking for them is that he suspects that the Siderite weapons must be powerful since the three heroes used them a lot against the Pope and how Naofumi makes a forcefield with it. Since there is no Siderite Gun for him to copy, he's got to get the materials to unlock the gun form. Hopefully, it will be an advanced gun and not a dumb flintlock.
Misato turns his head to look at the display cases, finding a Sword, a Spear, and a Bow on display. This might be the blacksmith, Misato walks inside.
"Welcome, what can I get for you, Miss…?" The man greets with hesitation, no doubt surprised by the 'dainty' girl in his shop.
"Yes," Misato points at the weapons on display. "Are those Siderite weapons?" Misato says doing his best girl voice
"Yes, those are Siderite weapons." The blacksmith nods
"How much for a Siderite Ingot please?"
"... I don't know, those are pretty expensive and took a while to get."
"How much do those weapons cost to buy?" Misato says looking at the weapons on display
"They each cost three gold coins"
"I'll pay you two gold for an ingot"
"Hmmm… make it three"
"I'll do two gold coins and twenty-five silvers"
"Alright you have a deal"
Misato sighs in relief, he will get out of this dress soon.
The man walks inside a room and then walks out with an ingot. "Not sure how you will carry it"
"Don't worry, I am much stronger than I look," Misato says, grabbing the ingot. A pop-up appears over it
Siderite Ingot
Well, that confirms it, "Thank you have a good day sir"
"Thanks, you too miss"
Misato and Fitoria walk out of the store, with some dexterity thanks to his high stats, he swiftly places the ingot inside the Gun's inventory.
He will check the weapon form later. The disguised hero turns his head at a store with a vague sign of a staff with magic.
Misato remembers the device that his Predecessor had made for Fitoria.
"Let's stop right here" he says Fitoria nods, stopping at the front of the store.
Misato enters the store, seeing several books and a quite a few crystal balls.
"Welcome, how may I help you?" A man in robes and stereotypical wizard hat greets.
Misato nods "Do you have any recording crystal balls?"
The store owner nods "Yes, do you wish to buy one?"
"No but I do wish to know, were the crystals based on the Heroes' weapons?"
"Why yes, it's common knowledge that the crystal balls were human attempts to replicate some of the hero's power" The guy says with a condescending look on his face.
Misato frowns. "How can information from the crystal balls transfer from long distances?"
"Sorry Miss, but I can't just share the info, they are very rare and-
Misato tosses a silver coin at the wizard.
The man catches it with ease and smiles "With a little mana, concentration, and coordination, two people using Crystal Balls made for recording and communication can transfer the recording to each other from long distances"
"What if the crystal ball was slightly broken, can it still transfer recordings?"
"There are some rumors that they can but that is false" The wizard says, but something about his eyes implies that it is not.
"This fucking... UGHH" Misato internally sighs and tosses another silver coin, the greedy wizard catches it.
"Well, depending on the damage of the crystal, it could, but the range of the crystal balls would have to be touching each other in order to transfer, so its use is pointless, it's better to recycle it and make a new one"
"If I recall, the tablet back at the Sanctuary had a small crystal ball on the top. Wonder if it's possible to transfer info through that."
"Thanks for the info, see you never..." Misato says with a glare, walking out of the store.
Ok they got what they need, now to leave this country, Misato taps Fitoria's head, she looks at him and nods, which means they are clear of any people with ill intentions towards them. They walk into an alleyway for them to teleport without anyone seeing.
Misato grabs the gun and changes its form to the transport gun.
"HELP!" A familiar voice screams
The gun hero stops and slowly faces the direction of the voice which is further into the alleyway. He looks at Fitoria, she motions for him to be silent and slowly walks deeper into the alleyway, Misato follows, gun returns to the Revolver form.
Fitoria peaks out of the corner and then pulls her head back.
"It's Annabelle and Kennedy, the Red Lions are hurting the man, and someone is trying to gag the girl" Fitoria whispers with a frown on her face.
Misato peaks his head out.
"I don't have any of Mordred's Weapons, he never gave me anything! AUGH" Kennedy cries as he gets hit by the adventurer.
"Leave dad alone!" Annabelle cries until she is gagged.
"Boss I think he's telling the truth, that Faublian would never sell his country's weapons for someone he just met," A bald man with a spear on his back says
"Tch, fine, kill the old man, we'll sell the girl to slavery and find Mordred later"
"NO! Mordred stays at the Inn near the West gate! Please don't sell my daughter. She's all I have since my wife died!" Kennedy yells, struggling to stand up as a man holds him down.
"Thanks for the tip but we're still doing it," The Red Lion's leader says with a grin
"WHY?!" Kennedy yells fighting against the man's grip
"Doesn't hurt to have a few more extra silvers" The bastard says. As one of the grunts raises their axe to cut his head.
The statement hits Misato deeply inside. Seeing the father desperately trying to save his child using anything he can to make sure his daughter is safe, while the child watches, powerless to stop any of this, brings up a dark memory that Misato tried to bury ever since he came to this world…
"Give us all your money!"
"Okay take what you want, please don't hurt us"
"Is this seriously all you have?!"
BANG
"NO"
"What a waste of time!"
Stop! Please just leave my so-"
BANG
"Misato!" Fitoria whispers loudly, shaking the gun hero.
Misato shakes his head "Sorry I'm back, what is happening?"
"We'll talk later but right now we need a plan on how to save Kennedy and Annabelle," Fitoria says, glaring at the gun in his hand.
Misato peaks the corner and then turns back to Fitoria. "Ok Fitoria, you need to go as fast as you can and take out the people holding Annabelle and Kennedy first and then the rest, don't hold back for these bastards, leave the leader alive." He says, taking off the dress.
"Annabelle I'm sorry…" Kennedy mutters, staring at his daughter trying to free herself as the adventurer raises the axe over his head.
Snap
Only for the adventurer to be smacked aside by a white blur, he dies instantly, then the rest of the Red Lions adventurers are blown away by the white blur, all dying instantly. Only the Red Lions leader remains, sword drawn. Fitoria appears near Annabelle, glaring at the leader.
"What the hell are you?" He yells hysterically, staring at Fitoria. Body soaked in sweat, and his instincts scream. He runs, turning the corner, only to find Misato with his fist raised.
Misato punches the leader, knocking his tooth out, despite being about half the leader's level. The hero's damage stat overcomes the Adventurer's defense stats. The man falls over groaning, Misato sighs and looks at Kennedy and Annabelle, the father holding his daughter as she cries into his shoulder. With Fitoria nearby watching them. The sight of the father comforting his child stirs up some sad memories for the gun hero.
Misato shakes his head and looks at the bastard lying on the ground. The gun hero kneels, revolver in hand. "Hey," Misato says, poking the guy with the revolver on the forehead.
The Red Lion's sole member looks up, his confidence is shattered after seeing his team disappear in a blink of an eye. "You knew about me before I signed up didn't you?"
The man nods
"How? Explain everything that led up to this." Misato says, his amber eyes narrowing.
"We were spying on Kennedy's cart, we knew it was filled with goods so we watched the wolves waiting for them to die and loot it. Until we saw you and that filolial kill those things."
"How did you see me? I didn't see you anywhere and we were open in the fields"
"Had a telescope, we watched from a distance."
That explains why Fitoria didn't sense them, they were out of her range.
He continues "We knew that you had to be from Faubley because of the rumors of their weapons, and seeing how effective they were, we knew that merchants in Zeltoble would be killing each other to get a piece of those weapons."
"Figured we could try to recruit you to our team and kill ya for the weapon, but since you declined, we thought that we could try to kill you and act like it was an accident in the wave, but we didn't expect you to disappear in the fight and kill the boss by yourself"
"Then it got harder trying to get to you, tried to follow you in Zeltoble but that damn filolial was too fast and it was too crowded to move in."
Fitoria moved faster when she sensed bad people in almost every direction, it seemed like these scumbags weren't the only ones.
"But then we saw that merchant and his girl and thought he would get us the info we needed, and the rest is history."
"I see… So why were you going to enslave Annabelle?" Misato asks
"I-I wanted more c-coins, sure we got some from the guild after the wave but it's nothing compared to thirty gold coins…"
"But you could have left them alone! You got what you wanted, info about me! You didn't have to, so WHY!?" Misato yells, his finger on the trigger.
"I-It's just how the country, no, the world works, no money, no power, so it's better to get as much as you can if you want to have a nice life, easier to do it on people who can't d-defend themselves…" The sick bastard says gulping
Misato glares at this scum... It reminds him too much of the murderers of his family and friends.
"Gweh" Fitoria nudges her head against Misato, knocking him out of his daze
Misato looks at Fitoria, her eyes filled with concern towards him. He sighs and looks at the adventurer.
Bang
Misato kills the adventurer, not to satisfy his rage about how he died but rather to prevent him from doing this to other people like Kennedy and Annabelle. His death won't bring back his parents or the others that he killed but it's one less bastard in the world to deal with.
The Gun hero walks up to the merchant and his daughter. "Let's get out of here." He says, reaching his hand out to them.
Kennedy, Annabelle, and Misato sit in a cart, while Sapphire, the blue Filolial pulls it, taking them out of Zeltoble, with Fitoria close by. The group was silent, not a single word was exchanged after Misato helped them up. Annabelle was asleep in the cart exhausted from today's events.
"Why… Why did you help me?" Kennedy asks, facing Misato
Misato faces him but says nothing, the merchant elaborates.
"I… I told them where you were staying, I sold you out, and if you did tell me about those weapons and glass orb, I probably would have told them about that too… So why did you save me?" The merchant asks, confused by Misato's actions.
Misato sighs "Well because you said those things to save your daughter…" He glances back at the sleeping child "Any good parent would do anything to protect their child… My parents would have probably done the same thing" He turns back to Kennedy, with a somber look.
"Oh… I see, I'm sorry for your loss" Kennedy says, leaning his head down
"It's alright…" Misato says
"Gweh" Fitoria says, nuzzling her head against Misato's
"Thanks, I'm good Toria…" He looks at where they are, seeing more carriages up ahead "Is this the group?"
"Yes Mordred, this is the group that I am journeying with to Melomarc"
"Well… I guess this is where we part ways" Misato says, hopping on top of Fitoria.
"Thank you for everything Mordred, how will I repay you?"
"We'll figure it out when we meet again. So take good care of each other" Misato says, waving his hand.
"Alright then, I will pray that you will be alright" Kennedy nods, waving back.
Misato and Fitoria disappear into the forest, out of the sight of merchants.
Annabelle yawns and rubs her eyes, she looks around in the cart. She sees her father at the front "Papa, where did Mordred and Toria go?"
Kennedy looks back to his daughter "Sorry they had to go somewhere else"
"Aw… I wanted to say goodbye to Mister Mordred and Toria, will we see them again?" Annabelle says, sitting in the front with her father
Kennedy looks back in the direction where their rescuers went. "I think we will, someday" He smiles

I might be rushing it a bit because this and last chapter are not the ones, I am excited to write about. But I did my best and went through a few rewrites.
The rate of chapters would probably speed up once I reach the moment where Misato executes his plans. Like making the heroes finally start using their brains and get their heads out of the clouds.
