To Change the Future

"Who are you?"

Misato looks up from the map in his hands and sees Keel now awake in the carriage, sitting upright on the seat, facing the Gun Hero. Keel's eyebrows are furrowed, scrutinizing Misato.

"My name is Misato, just a foreign Adventurer that saved you and the other children. What's your name?"

"I'm Keel, h-how did you save us?" Keel asks, glancing at the other children asleep in the carriage. H-She stares at Rifana for a few seconds.

"Y-You know her?" Misato tries to say naturally, hoping Keel didn't notice his stutter

Keel nods "Ya, her name is Rifana and we are friends… When we were taken by slavers, I n-never thought I would see her again"

The other children groan some of them start waking up. They stared at Misato and Fitoria in awe, remembering how they took out the guards, while some looked confused. "Again, how did you get us away from that bastard?" Keel asks

Misato tilts his head towards Fitoria who is pulling the carriage "Thanks to Toria's help, we distracted the guards, then we snuck in, killed Idol Rabier, healed all of you, and got away with all of the bad guy's money"

"Who's Idol Rabier?" Keel asks while the other children nod wondering the same thing.

Misato pauses then answers "He's the fat bastard who hurt all of you"

Misato can already picture a light bulb above their heads turning on. The children simultaneously cheer "The monster is gone yay!"

"Thank you!" two kids hug him, no longer afraid of him.

Misato smiles back, lifting a finger at his mouth "Shhh, some children are asleep" He looks at Rifana and the others, this must be the most peaceful sleep that they had in a long time…

"Where are we going?" A child asks

Misato pulls up his map. "We are heading towards Van Reichnott, or I hope it is…" If not, then they will just rest in the carriage for the rest of the night. He will ask a nearby village or town for directions in the morning. "He's a lord that is nice to Demi-Humans"

"Really, like the old man, Lord Seaetto?" Keel asks, tilting her head. Recalling the times, the nice old human visited the village.

Misato nods "Yes" From what he remembers, Reuben did explain who Eclair Seaetto is, as the anime was a little confusing for the anime-only viewer as she came out of nowhere. The Gun Hero sighs, right… She is a prisoner for some bullshit by the Three Heroes Church, what the hell was the King doing? Maybe when he talks to the Queen, he could get her out a bit early to help him or Naofumi.

A child yawns, followed by the rest of the children, "You should all rest" Misato says

"Halt! What business do you have here?" A guard with visible wolf ears and tail asks, scrutinizing Misato. Perhaps he is suspicious of a single human coming over to a Demi-Human safe village at night.

Misato calmly explains "I am a traveler here to rest and intend to drop these children off here as they lost their homes to slavers." He gestures his arms towards the carriage.

A guard cautiously walks towards the door and opens seeing the sleeping children in rags.

The guard gasps and yells "Get Lord Reichnott!" The guard further ahead nods and runs towards the manor in the village.

"Pleasure to meet you, I am Van Reichnott, the lord of this village and its great people." A long black-haired man with glasses says, slightly bowing

"I am Misato, an-yawn an adventurer," Misato says, mimicking Noble's bow.

Van smiles and yawns. "I will have an apothecary look after the children; you are welcome to rest in my home. We will discuss more in the morning."

"Really? Just like that?"

"I discussed with the captain of the guard, while you carry an odd spear, I believe it's clear that you are no slaver, and you did save these children." Misato was glad he changed the weapon to a musket before the guards inspected him. He is too tired to explain what a gun does.

"Thank you, but I'll sleep with Toria here," Misato says, patting Fitoria's head. Fitoria smiles and nudges her head against him. Van nods, smiling.

The Next Day

Misato and Fitoria walk to the mansion nearby, until a little wolf girl with a basket full of fruit trips. Misato kneels next to the child. "Here let me help," He says, picking up a fruit and placing it into the basket. The Gun Hero fills the basket up, he lifts it "Okay be more careful now" Misato says with a smile, looking at the girl but his eyes widen.

The girl looks terrified, her wolf wears are now down, and she's cowering, why?

Misato hesitantly asks "U-Uh, are you ok-"

"What do you think you're doing with my granddaughter?!" An old woman yells. Holding a pitchfork, glaring at the Gun Hero

Misato stands up, shaking his head so fast that his face was almost a blur. "Nothing! I was just trying to he-"

"Liar! I saw you leering at her!" She yells

"Calm down, stop jumping to conclusions!" Misato yells, failing to keep himself calm. The Gun hero looks around seeing a small crowd forming around them, most of them glaring at the sole human. His hand shaking, he places the basket of fruit down. Fitoria stands next to him, glaring back at the old lady. Upset that the hag is causing Misato distress.

"STOP! What is going on here?!" The guards arrive, cutting through the crowd. Followed by a frowning Van Reichnott.

"This bastard was ready to take my granddaughter as a toy he can abuse!"

"That's not true! She fell over, I was just trying to help her."

"Ya right! You must have tripped her!"

"ENOUGH!" Reichnott yells, he gives the old lady an uncharacteristic glare, and the old lady flinches. He sighs, his hand pointing to Misato "This man came here to drop off some Demi-Human Children that he saved from a cruel slave owner, the children that he rescued all are thankful to him. Do not judge him like the humans out there that have judged you!" He yells, facing the crowd. There was a brief silence, Van took a deep breath.

"Now carry on," The noble says, and the crowd disperses.

"Apologies for Amelia… Please understand that she is still recovering from her experience and loss…, her granddaughter, Isabel, is all she has left." Van says, bowing.

Misato shakes his head "It's alright, you don't have to bow" The noble complies and raises his head "I guess it's because of how often humans mistreat them?" He asks

Van nods "Yes…Many people here came here to find some peace from the hatred against their kind, although for most it's not enough, many linger some hatred towards the humans, some even tried to fight the neutral merchants that trade with us"

"I see…" Misato nods. It makes sense, hatred is a powerful emotion, that makes people do stupid things, like what he almost did back at Zeltoble. Since he isn't the shield hero, Misato's presence is unwanted compared to Naofumi and with the recent destruction of another demi-human safe village, tensions are now high here…

"Come, let us discuss inside my abode"

Misato nods, ready to leave the tense atmosphere.

Misato sits in the dining room with Van, while Fitoria is outside, watching from the window.

"Mister Misato, how did you come across these children?" Van asks

"Idol Rabier kept these children imprisoned so he could torture them to death, I knew about this, so me and Toria broke in and freed them" Misato answers

"How did you know that he was doing this?" Van Reichnott asks with a hand on his chin.

"I heard rumors from the townsfolk of Rabier's land and after spying on him with a whip and sick grin on his face heading down to the dungeons, I had some suspicion that the rumors were true and went in."

"I killed him and healed the prisoners," Misato admits.

The nobleman gasps "You managed to kill Idol Rabier? I heard that he was a veteran soldier in the war against Silvelt and fought alongside King Aultracy. You must be very strong to kill him."

Okay, the bastard survived a war, that explains a bit but it's certainly a terrible excuse to torture children. "We had the element of surprise and got him trapped.'' Misato half lied, he did surprise the fat asshole, but it was a struggle to kill him. Fortunately, he had Fitoria who broke his arm and punched him. Misato then got him stuck in the web shot and stabbed him to death.

"To think he would do something like this. I knew his prejudice but to go this far…" Van frowns at the news.

"He was a fanatic for the Three Heroes Church, must have whipped and killed several children, declaring it that it was the will of god…" Misato frowns remembering the anime. The bastard was willing to hurt Melty.

The noble nods and grimaces "The whip must have been cursed because some of the children needed holy water to heal from the wounds and those wounds have been there for a long time, I doubt that even holy water can heal them without leaving a scar."

"Seriously? Now I'm even more glad I got rid of that bastard" Misato says, arms crossed. One less monster to deal with in the future.

"Yes, you did the right thing for these children" Van Reichnott agrees

"Speaking of which" Misato stands up and flashes the glass orb, secretly pulling out the money he got from Idol Rabier's vault from within his gun "Here's some of the money I got from the bastard's vault, use it to help the children and your people," Misato says handing the kind nobleman some bags of gold and silver.

"Thank you for this, Mister Misato" Van nods, grabbing the bags. "Are there any more ways to repay you?"

"Why do you request to help me more?" Misato asks, eyebrows raised, taking care of the children would be good enough as Misato gave him four fifth's of the valuables and he caused some distress in the village, whether he caused it or not.

"A demi-human child went too far from the village and disappeared, I am glad to find him again, all thanks to you" The noble smiles.

"Really?" Misato smiles, happy to help another family from disaster.

Van Reichnott nods "I feel that the fault was mine for not adding more guards to protect my people, I am thankful that you saved him, but I still wish to do more."

Misato nods then look at the corners of the dining room "Well, I guess I can make a deal…" Misato sighs "First off, tell me what you think of Queen Mirellia?"

Van Reichnott gives the Gun Hero a nostalgic smile and describes the Queen, which matches the general idea Misato had when he watched the anime. Mysterious but nonetheless a morally good person and a ruler for her kingdom.

Misato faces Fitoria who nods from outside the building, which means the noble is talking truthfully.

"If that is what you think of her, then I need to talk to the Queen or her shadows as soon as possible. Can you please help me with arranging that?"

"Why do you wish to speak with the Queen or her shadows?"

"It involves the Legendary Heroes, I need her help with the heroes, I believe the church of the Three heroes might trick them into doing terrible things…" Half the truth but it's the most believable reason other than the fact that Misato knows the future and things go bad because three out of the four heroes are incompetent young men.

"Like attacking this village, thinking that people here are evil."

Van gasps at the horrifying idea.

The nobleman answers "I would be glad to… But even if there were a shadow here, I do not have the authority to bring them out to speak." Van Reichnott answers. He turns around looking at a corner "If you are here Shadow, please come out and speak to Sir Misato"

No one answers.

"Apologies, perhaps I can help you with something else?" Van Reichnott says

Misato sighs "Perhaps sending a letter using your connection to her?"

Van nods "Very well, I will do it immediately, but it will take a long time, the Queen is most likely at Faubrey, perhaps busy trying to calm down the other countries."

"Thank you," Misato says.

Misato left the village to get out of the tense environment and continues hunting monsters, gaining strength, with Fitoria making sure he doesn't die.

Bang

"Hah…" Misato sighs in relief, killing the last monster, and sitting down against a tree. Fitoria walks over with the bag on her back, he grabs the water pouch and drinks it. The disguised Filolial Queen leans her head down, and Misato pets hers.

"Misato, don't look but I sense someone behind us" She whispers.

Misato's posture becomes stiff, he tries to not look back. He whispers back "Did you sense anything bad from them?"

"No, and I believe this might have been the same person I sensed in that room when you talked to the noble."

Misato clears his throat while placing a single finger over Fitoria's beak "Damn, the Church of the Three Heroes is so annoying, causing trouble for these Demi-Humans!" Misato yells, which is true, seeing how flawed it is because they resorted to framing the Shield Hero so that people would believe in them. Fitoria nods, maybe understanding the plan or his statement.

Misato leans his head closer to Fitoria "Sensing anything?"

"No change in their emotions"

Seems like this Shadow is not with the Church or is really good at suppressing their emotions. "Okay, surround the area"

A mist appears over the area, trapping the Shadow with them.

"Get them"

Fitoria disappears in a blur, Misato turns around to see Fitoria standing next to an unconscious but familiar-looking Shadow. Misato walks over to them with a rope.

"Wake up!" Misato splashes some water on the Shadow. The Shadow sputters and coughs, their voice sounds masculine. They look around, noticing surveying their surroundings. They find that their gear is missing.

Misato breathes in and out. Fitoria sensed nothing bad, and there is no sign of any Three Church symbol, only Queen Mirellia's emblem but he should double check.

"Mirellia is a whore that spreads her legs to please other count-

The Shadow's head snaps towards the Gun Hero. Misato flinches at the deadly aura directed toward him. Fitoria walks over to his side, and she whispers in his ear "I sensed a large amount of rage towards you from that man, is he with the church?"

Misato shakes his head and whispers back " I was just testing him the Shadow's anger and actions confirm that he works under the Queen and is seriously loyal to her." "That was terrifying."

Fitoria nods.

"Well… Now I know you work for the Queen, I apologize for my comment, I was just testing you, and now that I know you are not with the Three Heroes Church. You should know that I am here to help her." Misato says

He continues "I know what will happen in the future, but I need her help to prevent many terrible events from happening in her Kingdom…"

The shadow doesn't answer, most likely skeptical of his claim.

"As for how I know the future? Well, I am aware that the Queen vents her anger and frustration by destroying paintings of her husband and terrible daughter for not only summoning all four cardinal heroes but for framing the shield hero." Thank you Reuben for providing interesting facts about the beautiful Ruler that the anime did not show.

The shadow shifts slightly at that statement. Perhaps surprised by Misato knowing Mirellia's current or future hobby? But still doesn't say anything.

"Still not budging huh?" The Gun Hero sighs, turning his head. "I suggest you take a good look at Toria and let me reintroduce her," Misato says, gesturing towards the Filolial Queen, who is now further away "Alright Fitoria, show him!" He yells.

Fitoria nods and her body glows. The light grows bigger, and bigger and bigger… Until the light disappears and a giant filolial stands before the shadow.

"Let me try again, meet Fitoria, The Queen of All Filolials, Ruler of the creatures that your Queen dearly loves." The shadow stares, most likely his mouth was agape under that mask.

"Shadow of Queen Mirellia Melomarc, I suggest you listen to him," Fitoria says with authority while crushing a tree with her foot, telling the captive that this is no illusion and then he immediately faces Misato.

Misato continues "Tell the Queen that the 2nd wave in Melomarc will hit in Riyute Village. After the wave, a banquet will happen in the Castle, the Spear Hero will challenge the Shield Hero into a duel because of Malty. And the King acts like a hypocrite 'helping' a demi human slave saying that its wrong for a hero to keep slaves but truthfully he doesn't like that she is helping the Shield Hero survive."

"I will tell you more, but I need your leader to understand that I am here to help her. I have a solution that will make the other heroes become better than who they are right now, and if we don't then they will die because of their naive thoughts of this world and the people they surround themselves with will not help them grow. The sooner we deal with the problem within their minds, the better." Misato says, he then takes a deep breath and continues.

"Starting with the Spear hero, the Queen should send a shadow to get some recorded evidence that Malty is quite a rotten person and the Spear Hero needs to understand and get her out of his party, or else he will forever be an incompetent nuisance. Even after your Queen returns to punish her horrible daughter." Misato says with a frown.

From what he knows, despite exposing Malty, Motoyasu still took the bitch's side, and later on, his mind snapped when he was thrown under the bus by Malty in the Spirit Tortoise arc. Misato does not want Motoyasu to unlock the curse of lust, seriously he does not want to see that cursed spear…

"Second, find a way to humble the Bow Hero, over time the power he possesses will fill his head with pride and his companions will milk it all up, he will become the most troublesome hero if he is not dealt with soon."

He is aware of how much a piece of shit Itsuki is compared to all the heroes. His actions make Misato question if the bastard deserves to wield that weapon.

How does he know this? Before his death, Misato was dissatisfied with Season 2, Reuben especially as he is a fan of the light novel and manga. His friend did his best to summarize what was missed in Season 2. The summary he can recall was where the heroes went through training, and no surprise, the three heroes hated it and ran away from Melomarc, and still called Naofumi a cheater. Also, Misato, not in the mood to wait, asked about how the heroes fell into the curse series, Reuben explained and a part of him was not surprised.

They were so stubborn and inflexible even at their lowest point, so desperate to trust Malty of all people even after the trial, and then fell to the curse… Back then Misato couldn't understand why they were so dumb, until recently. Now, the Gun Hero can understand why the three heroes are like this.

With this knowledge, Misato theorizes that the longer the Heroes are filled with nonsense, the harder it will be to snap the three heroes into reality. By the time episode 21's events happen, the heroes' mindsets of the world will be too deep-rooted to change without traumatizing them. Even though trauma is the better option compared to letting them die, the Gun Hero wishes that the situation will not deteriorate.

Misato continues "I will explain the rest of my plan later, I hope we meet again before the second wave."

The Shadow doesn't speak.

The Gun Hero sighs "I understand if we don't but do make sure that this information is sent to the Queen." Misato walks up to the Shadow with a knife and cuts the rope. The shadow stands up, rubbing their wrist from the rope, they stare at the Gun Hero. Misato hands them their gear "Now go and inform the Queen as soon as you can."

Fitoria chimes in "The fate of the inhabitants in this world depends on your leader's actions. I suggest she complies with Misato's request."

The Shadow pauses, staring at Misato.

"Please help us…" Misato pleaded, staring at the general eye area of the mask.

He nods, lifting the recording glass orb, a subtle glow lights up inside it, they point it at Misato then at Fitoria, perhaps he is recording visual evidence of this.

Misato turns to Fitoria "Okay lower the mist!"

Fitoria turns into a normal filolial and lowers the mist. The Shadow immediately leaves using illusion magic to disappear.

"Will the Queen believe you?" Fitoria asks, facing Misato on her back. Skeptical about this plan, most likely because he and she never met Queen Mirellia in person and have no idea what she is like. Even with Misato's knowledge, it is a massive risk as he has no guarantees that the Queen is like the one in the Anime. Only the rumors, the Shadow having no Rosary, and the vouch of Van Reichnott. While Fitoria does remember the Queen being friendly to her kind, it is still not enough to completely trust her.

"I hope so, she will most likely contact me after the second wave in Melomarc," Misato says. "It is the only proof that confirms that I know of the future for her, and me."

"The Second wave in Melomarc will occur in a little more than a week," Fitoria says "If I recall, the plan was to meet up with the Shield Hero first?"

Misato nods "Yes but there might be a change of plans"

"Why is that?"

"We just saved Rifana and Keel, they are Raphtalia's friends, and Raphtalia will become Naofumi's most trusted companion. By saving them, she will trust us, and by extension, Naofumi's trust. And without his trust he will not believe that there are more strengthening methods and other useful things" Misato explained.

Originally he intended to tell Naofumi where the wave will occur and meet him at the village to help fight and tell him how Malty and King will create another shenanigan sort of verifying that he knows the future by mentioning personal things to him.

But now the gun hero realizes that there is a huge flaw in this plan, recalling the anime, Naofumi most likely still has trust problems, and probably will think Raphtalia is still physically a ten-year-old girl and not a girl in her teens by the time the wave comes. If Misato approached him, he would never trust Misato even with Fitoria, plus her first approach to convincing Naofumi to clear his name and cooperate with the heroes in the anime seems callous and uncaring.

However, now that Rifana and Keel are safe if he gets one or both of them to come along and become his official companion(s) he will have a valid and safer way to make Raphtalia express her loyalty towards Naofumi without the humiliation of the rigged duel and prevent him from unlocking the Shield of Rage.

The downside though, Naofumi in the show relied on it, almost all the time. In every major encounter after that Undead Dragon, Naofumi used the Shield of Rage. But once Misato learns of the other heroes' strengthening methods and tells Naofumi, he will not need to use the Shield of Rage at all.

"If only gaining their trust was simple…" Fitoria sighs

Misato rubs her head "Me too, hey Fitoria could you prevent a hero from unlocking a curse series?"

Fitoria nods "Yes but once the Hero unlocks it, I can only suppress its influence."

With Fitoria, she could stop the curse from being unlocked. After all, when it comes to health, prevention is better than curing it.

"Well, at least we could stop the Shield Hero from unlocking it in case the plan fails." Misato looks up ahead, "Let's head back to the village and check on the children"

Fitoria shakes her head "We should head back to the Sanctuary for a little bit, there are some things I want you to have, for your journey when we, separate…"

"Okay, are we clear?" Misato looks around

"I do not sense anyone"

"Create a dust cloud and cover us as we teleport," The Gun Hero says, doesn't hurt to be safe, especially when they recently kidnapped a Shadow.

Fitoria raises her wings and flaps, a powerful gust from her winds hits the ground, and a cloud of dust covers the 2. Misato then teleports them to the Sanctuary.

Fitoria places her hand on the Gun and drops her hair into the gun. He sees 3 pop-up windows.

Overall Stats have increased

Filolial Series unlocked.

Filolial Magnums unlocked.

+5% damage to Dragon Species

Skill: Piercing Wind Bullet

An armor piercing bullet made of wind is fired.

isato looks at the Filolial Gun "Woah" he says surprised to have two guns appear in each hand. The guns look similar to a desert eagle but smaller, with a small figure of a Filolial carved on the side. The main body was silver, but the carvings were colored red.

So, he's dual-wielding Magnums? If he recalls his experience with Fitoria and how the anime looked when Filo fought, it's kind of a fitting weapon. Filolials hit hard and fast, so that's why he has magnums, the skill is like wind arrow, but it pierces, and having two guns is kind of like having wings.

Companion Series unlocked.

Companion Gun unlocked

Will provide a small boost in stats when leveling up with a trusted companion and vice versa. Stat boost will increase depending on how much the companion trusts you.

Misato smiles seeing the Companion Series unlocked and giving him quite a boost in stats, it's a sign that Fitoria trusts him a lot. He looks at the crafting system and sees an upgrade part available for the Filolial Gun, he will craft that immediately, but before he could...

Thunk

"Misato," Fitoria says,

Misato looks up and his jaw drops.

"I want you to copy this," The Filolial Queen says nonchalantly.

"What the hell?" Misato says, staring at what he can describe as armor or a tank wagon for a Filolial Queen with cannons! "Where the hell was this in the anime?! Fitoria fighting against the Turtle with this would have been so much cooler!"

He tries to copy it but...

Weapon is not a gun

"Oh, come on! maybe I can copy the cannon only?"

Filolial Cannon copied.

Weapon is locked

Level Requirement: Level 100

"Fitoria, do you remember how your carriage can have cannons? My Gun can't seem to copy or create a weapon form out of Gun fused with another type of weapon." The Gun refused to create the shield as a new Form, and when making the Blunderbuss with a shield nailed into by hand, it still refused to copy it.

Fitoria looks at her weapon "Perhaps Mister Forrest had something to do with this form, I am sorry, but I do not remember how to create weapon hybrids for the weapon to accept them."

The Gun Hero turns around sighing, looking at the carriage with cannons.

"Pii"

The Gun hero turns and sees a small red and black feathered baby Filolial on Fitoria's hand. "Oh, it's you again," Misato says, this is the same Filolial that was there when Fitoria broke down.

"I wish for you to take this Filolial into your party," Fitoria says

"Okay, I'll do that" Misato nods "But why?" He asks, petting the small Filolial. The little bird nudges its head against his hand, enjoying the affection.

"Your plan relies a lot on my senses, which is why I chose this one, to help you sense enemies when I am g-gone... His senses are strong for his age, with you he can potentially surpass many adult filolials, maybe even one day surpass my senses."

Misato nods, mentally noting her stutter "But there's another reason, right?"

Fitoria nods, her red eyes staring into his. "Yes, I seek a Candidate on becoming the next Ruler of the Filolials"

"W-Why?" The Gun Hero stutters.

"I have grown tired of being the Queen of Filolials, I wish for someone else to take the burden of its title," Fitoria says with a sigh, closing her eyes.

He tenses up, "I see, you would still be around, right?" Misato asks.

"Yes" She answers with a reassuring smile "Do not worry, I will be there to assist my successor"

Misato's body relaxes, feeling relief. "I was afraid if she was suicidal." He changes the subject

"What is his name?" He asks

"He does not have one as his parents have yet to name him," Fitoria says with an arm pointed at a red filolial and a black filolial standing nearby.

"His parents…" Misato mutters, He points at himself "Are they okay with him coming with me?"

"Yes, they are, I asked their permission, and they said yes" Fitoria answers.

Misato slowly walks up to the Filolials. The parents tilt their heads, curious as to why he is walking toward them.

"... Thank you, for trusting me with your child," He says staring directly into their eyes. "I promise that I will do everything I can to make sure he doesn't die"

"Kweh"

"Pree"

They nod and nuzzle their heads against the Gun Hero. he pets them, smiling. Then Misato turns around looking at the little Filolial.

"Red and black feathers…" Misato mutters, petting him, thinking deeply about his new companion's name, eventually, he comes to a decision. "I will call you… Ace, how does that sound?" He says with a smile. Ace, like the red or black card, when Fitoria leaves, this Filolial will be his Ace in the future, sensing when they are safe from anyone with bad intentions.

"Pii Pii pii!" The filolial cries happily, hopping on top of Misato's head. Fitoria smiles at the sight, feeling nostalgic.

"Okay, it sounds like Ace likes his name," The Gun Hero chuckles, petting Ace.

"Ace is a good name" Fitoria comments.

"Well, I guess we should go back to the village and meet Rifana and Keel," Misato says, changing his gun to the Teleport Gun. He looks up to Fitoria who is staring at him, biting her lip. "Something wrong?"

Fitoria nods, her eyes narrowing "I did a lot of work today…"

Misato pauses and then his eyes widen "Oh, ya you did… Do you want something?"

"Please sit against that tree and remove the chest plate"

"Uh, okay" Misato complies, removing his black jacket and the chest plate, he sits down with his back against the tree.

Fitoria then sits on his lap, hugging him. "Pet me" She murmurs her face buried in his chest. Misato smiles, gently rubbing her head.

"You did great today, without you, none of this would have been possible, you're the best girl in the world" Misato whispers, pampering the Filolial Queen.

"You're the best girl in the world"

"Thank you…" Fitoria mutters, slightly teary from the memory of Misato's Predecessor, Forrest.

Feeling content of her current position she closes her eyes.

Author Notes:

And that was Chapter 7, it's a big one, I hope you like it.

Misato's theory of why the Heroes are like this is my actual theory of why the heroes behave so badly and doesn't seem to grow until they mentally snap and unlock the curse. Later in the story, I will describe more in detail that theory and how Misato will change the heroes' mindsets.

Now you see one of the main reasons why Misato wanted Fitoria to come along, she can sense a Shadow immediately because after living for a long time, experiencing many things that no one else could, her instincts must be insane. Without Fitoria, Misato would have a hard time trying to pin a Shadow down to talk to them and wouldn't know for certain if the Shadow is on his side.

Thank you so much for your supportive reviews! I am soo happy that I have an even number of favs and follows and have a decent number of both. 75 and hopefully still rising. Although, I am a bit envious to see what looks like dead stories with OCs get more favorites and follows than mine.

Please do give me some criticism because I am worried that I might mess up. Please note that I did change some chapters because I thought of how Fitoria might have been a bit OOC earlier, so please do check out the V2 chapters.

Also do give out some suggestions on what Gun Forms Misato could unlock and what skill he gets.

Remastered,

I realized that I didn't have a good reason on how Fitoria could hide her identity as the Carriage hero and that alone caused a few loopholes in the story, so I went back and changed it along with adding moments of Misato being smarter with by asking questions sooner than later.

Thanks for the suggestions for guns, I will try to figure out how Misato could unlock them instead of craft them later in the future, as of right now he cannot craft some of the guns. He is currently in Musket/Flintlock era type of weapons.

I do have something for chapter 8 but it feels a bit forced.

Thank you again for reading and have a good day!
