Power Long Forgotten
"We're almost into the Royal Castle Lady Feuer." A soldier says and the Sword Vanguard nods.
Right now, Adele Feuer, wielder of the Sword Replica, had taken a platoon to prepare for his holiness's arrival to the Castle. They are using the hidden tunnels of the castle to enter it.
Adele sees the end of the tunnel, a simple wood and stone wall.
"Did we end up in a dead end again?" A Soldier complains
The Sword Vanguard scoffs. "It is merely a trick, trust in our shadows, inspect this wall, it's likely the door."
A mage and a soldier inspect the wall, checking every crack and crevice. A loud click echoes in the tunnel, looks like they found it.
The soldier moves to go through the illusion, only for a familiar face with black hair goes through to their side first.
Misato Morgan, the heretic, gasps, his gold eyes widening. "Shit." He says echoing in the tunnel.
"Kill him!" Adele roars.
Misato leans back through the wall disappearing. The knights raise their weapons, moving through the wall.
Boom!
The thunder-like sound loudly echoes through the tunnel.
"AGH!" A knight screams in agony along with many others behind them.
Adele eyes narrow seeing a familiar projectile piercing through multiple soldiers and knights, flying straight towards her.
She raises her hand, casting Castle Wall in front of her, the bullet hits. Both the barrier and the bullet break apart.
Boom!
Another projectile, larger than before, flies through the tunnels, the remaining soldiers in front lay in fear as it flies past them, Adele raises another barrier and the projectile explodes into a large puff of smoke, covering the tunnel, obscuring everyone's vision.
"Tch." Adele clicks her tongue, she turns to the mages behind her. "Clear the smoke."
"Understood." The Mage says, quickly casting a wind spell to disperse the smoke.
A soldier at the end of the tunnel moves through the door only to slam into something. "Huh?" He mutters, he slowly places his hand through the illusionary door. "Something large and metal is blocking the door!" He says.
"Move aside." The Sword Vanguard says curtly, placing her hand through the illusion, she knocks her knuckle against it, hearing and feeling the metal clang against her gauntlet. "Stand back." Adele says, raising the replica in its longsword form. The sword glows with golden light.
She thrust the sword forward, blasting the metal barricade in front of them. She hears the metal object slide, scratching against the floor and finally falling onto the floor, loudly breaking the wood.
The Sword Vanguard peeks her head through the illusion, it appears they are inside a normal storage room, she sees large scratch marks on the floor and a carriage size crater at the end, but where did such a large barricade could have gone?
Adele enters the room, followed by her platoon, she opens the door to the hall near courtyard-
Boom!
Adele sees blue light flying right towards her, she leans to the side, barely dodging it as it breaks through the barrier and sees the small trail of blue stars behind it. The light pierces through two soldiers and a knight, killing them.
The Vanguard looks where the light came from seeing Misato, wielding that damn large gun, on the roof near the courtyard with a purple and white clothed girl near him.
"Holy Slash!" Adele yells, swinging the greatsword, creating a slash of gold light flying towards Misato.
The swordswoman sees the two pests move to dodge.
Bang!
The gunshot echoes in the courtyard and a dust cloud erupts over them. The dust fades, only showing a large slash mark on the roof. Adele walks out of the room and into the courtyard. She clicks her tongue, unable to find any sign of those two.
"Coward… Using such cheap tricks, is this really the man who defeated a portion of our holy army?" Adele takes a breath. "No matter, the rest of the holy army will find them, and when they do I will slay this so-called Black Storm…"
Melty and the squad of soldiers rest in a hallway, exhausted from the fighting and now the running, it doesn't help that they now have to go upstairs, as the Church has infiltrated the Castle through THE very tunnel they were planning to escape in!
The Crown Princess frowns staring at her sister and father, both unconscious.
"Everyone good?"
"Wah!" Melty yelps, turning around seeing Misato and S'yne suddenly right next to her. "H-how did you get here so fast?" Melty's eyes widened. "Did you somehow teleport?" The Projectile? Hero nods. "But how?" She questions. Misato and S'yne tried earlier, saying the Church had magic preventing them and yet Misato managed to appear behind Malty and knocked out her teeth. Then they just appeared all of a sudden after Melty and the others flee far from the courtyard.
"I think the spell was designed for one specific type of teleportation, what S'yne and I did was different from what most heroes used, or maybe the jamming spell is like a big bubble." Misato explains, raising his hands to help picture the mental image. "S'yne and I could teleport anywhere inside the bubble but we can't use it to get out. Only by physically walking out of the bubble or radius of the spell, we can teleport beyond the imaginary line."
"Why didn't you use this before?" Dusk asks.
"Didn't know it was possible, our situation with Malty trying to burn us earlier was bad, I thought I could try and test it out." Misato answers with a shrug, showing off the gun made out of glass and Melty frowns at the reminder of Misato's rage.
"Anyway, I got a new plan on how to escape. We're going to the tower with the best view of the capital, using my teleport bullets. I will shoot to the edge of the castle with as many people as I can, S'yne will take everyone else and follow using her form of teleportation to me. We tested our teleportation and it can be used to carry a teammate with you as long as you are touching."
"Sounds good." Henry says with a nod, standing up, the other soldiers stand up, following their leader's example.
"We must move quickly." Dawn urges pointing in a direction. "Go this way, the south east tower has the best view of the capital."
Misato's Party runs through the halls and the secret tunnels, going in the opposite direction the Church would expect, up. They manage to sneak by the guards, who are all confused. The King and Malty are knocked out and are being taken away. Melty is rumored to be brainwashed and the Royal Commander Asshole is dead all thanks to Misato.
Unfortunately, many guards here wouldn't know how to react to the Church appearing like this. Many people are not expecting the Church to make such a bold move considering their ''loyalty' to the Royal Family, and from the sounds they hear nearby, there are people fighting but mostly screaming from the servants, which means the Church is taking advantage of the confusion.
Which also means…
Misato groans, seeing a group of knights with soldiers appearing in front of them in the hallway, blocking their path to the last hidden tunnel that goes to the south east tower. He raises the silenced M4A4.
"There they are!" A knight yells and the squad of heavily armored church fighters charge to Misato's party.
"Henry, Shadows, protect the Royal family, S'yne your with me!" Misato says, firing his gun.
Twip! Twip! Twip! Twip! Twip! Twip! Twip! Twip!
Misato fires at their orbs and their legs, stunning them with precise headshots. He and S'yne approach the now kneeling knights.
"Spider Net" S'yne says capturing the stunned knights, tying them down. She raises her scissors, finishing them off while Misato fights off a few stragglers outside of the net.
Twip! Clang! Twip! Tint! Twip! Clang!
The Gun Hero fires his Shadow pistol at two knights, knocking them back, and destroying the orbs on their chest, disabling the stat enhancements.
Twip! Twip! Click!
Misato's gun clicks and the knight stands there dazed from the headshots.
Reload!
Misato throws his gun at the knight, and it transforms into the PKM mid air, slamming hard into the knight's face. He turns around, seeing a knight stand up with their sword. The Legendary Gun returns to Misato's palm and he fires the silenced assault rifle at their leg.
The Knight stumbles towards him and tries to swing their sword but Misato catches their hand. The Gun Hero stabs the knight's throat with the Viper Pistol's knife. Hearing the sound of metal hitting the wooden floor, Misato turns around to see the other knight standing up.
The Gun Hero throws his musket like a javelin, the bayonet pierces the already broken orb and goes deep into the knight's chest. The gun reappears as the Viper pistol on Misato's hand and he slits the knight's throat finishing them off.
Meanwhile S'yne ducks a decapitating swing, wrapping a thread around the knight's leg and pulls them off their feet. She raises her scissor, stabbing the orb and their head.
"They're good…" Ake, one of the good soldiers comments with a few murmurs of agreement. While Melty grimaces at the sight of dead bodies, frowning at Misato, feeling conflicted.
Misato turns around seeing S'yne leaning on the large scissors, panting.
This is bad, they need to get out soon before they all run out of stamina. He glances at his ammo counter, he only has one clip left for the assault rifle and that's it for that gun type.
They arrive at the southeast door, beyond it are a set of hallways that lead to the bridge and the tower outside of the main building.
"It's locked." Misato says and turns around. "Any keys around?" The squad looks around the room seeing no keys. They all hear multiple footsteps marching nearby.
"I'll pick the lock." Dawn says, holding some lock picks but Misato raises his hand, stopping the shadow.
"Hang on, this might be quicker." Misato says, raising an odd thin small handgun. Instead of a barrel, it's the tip and blade of a key. He inserts the key and a screen of a jigsaw puzzle appears in Misato's vision.
Seriously, a 64x64 Jigsaw puzzle? "Unlock" Misato says and hears a click from the door.
"What was that?" Melty asks.
"It's the Key Gun, helps pick locks easier than normal means, but it can get harder the more complex the lock is." Misato answers, uncorking an SP potion and drinks. He can use the skill: 'Unlock', to skip it but the SP cost scales with the complexity of the lock.
The Gun Team swiftly traverses the halls, were it not for the shadows guiding them, Misato admittedly would have gotten lost in where to go as every hallway looked exactly the same.
They arrive at the bridge, Misato cautiously opens the door, seeing no one standing between them and the tower. He closes the door, turning back to everyone. "Okay, stay low, beneath the walls of the bridge, we have to move carefully, crawl if you have to." Misato cautions and everyone nods.
The Gun Hero opens the door, he sees a flash of gold light flying towards them and he shuts the door, turning around. "Get around me!" Misato yells, transforming his weapon into the largest Gun carriage he has to protect everyone.
They all hear stone and wood breaking, slamming against the Gun carriage. "Is everyone here?" Misato asks and Henry rollcalls.
"We're all good." The Commander confirms. Misato slowly opens the door of the carriage, seeing the damage done to the wall and floor. Like a laser beam went through the wall and the door, the bridge has also been destroyed.
"All clear, come out slowly, one at a time." Misato says and Melty gently climbs out first with S'yne, followed by everyone else. The Gun Hero peeks his head out of the gap with his silenced sniper rifle, looking where the golden light came from. He sees the Pope in the distance at the courtyard and he moves away from the gap, hoping Balmus didn't see him.
Misato looks at everyone "The Pope destroyed the bridge…" He takes a breath, trying to remember the image of the castle in his head "Okay, new plan, we go to the highest point of the castle, we can't use the outer towers, it will leave us exposed to the Pope."
"Ro*ftop?" S'yne asks.
The Gun Hero shakes his head. "Can't, even if I travel alone, invisible, climbing to the top, the Pope along with many people would see me and destroy the main tower, we also can't let them know where we are going." He only has nine teleport bullets left, there's no telling how many places he will have to teleport safely to truly get out, he can't fire blindly in a large arc to the sky, he might hit the jamming 'bubble' in the middle of the air and have everyone plummet to their deaths.
Traversing through the castle again, they stumble upon a hallway full of soldiers and knights, more than before, too many for Misato and S'yne alone.
"Perfect Aim." Misato says, activating the skill, making his last clip of assault rifle ammo count for this fight.

Church Soldiers fall over dead, while all the orbs of the knight's shatter and they collapse on their knees as the bullets break their armored shins.
Misato's gun clicks empty, assault rifle ammo is gone.
"Needle S*ot" S'yne says and barrage of needles flies towards the knights.
"Charge!" Misato yells and the Commander roars as the squad of soldiers charge in a V formation at the downed knights.
Misato and S'yne quickly follow them. An enemy soldier dashes from behind the pillar and tackles Misato, catching him off guard with their arm over his throat. The Gun reappears underneath his boot as the Siderite Rifle, pushing his body upwards.
The move flips Misato and the soldier with the Hero ending up on top instead. Misato then jabs the soldier's throat with the Viper pistol, killing them.
He turns to see S'yne slashing a knight's arm with her scissor, causing the knight to drop the flail. Seeing the spike chain ball reminds Misato of Rikert's weapon, he looks down on the Legendary Gun, transforming it into the metal grappling gun and an idea clicks in his mind.
The Gun Hero turns to see a knight swinging their hand axe and ducks it. He spins around swinging the grappling gun, holding the hook end, and slamming the gun on the knight's shoulder, shattering the armor. Using the Legendary Gun as a flail.
The axeman swings but Misato slams the gun at their arm, shattering the metal plating, causing the knight to drop their weapon in pain. Misato turns around seeing a knight in the distance raising a crossbow at one of his teammates but he swings the grappling gun, and the rope length extends, reaching the knight, smacking the crossbow down, breaking it. Misato turns back to the axe wielder, who leans back up, only to see the seemingly indestructible gun smashing through their helmet, knocking them out hard.
Misato hears a knight yell, Misato turns to see a blast of water from Melty pushing a knight to him. The knight coughs trying to stand up, but Misato underhand swings the grappling gun in one full circle, and the follow up swing slams the gun into the knight's chin, knocking them out.
He turns, seeing a knight about to kill an ally, he swings the grappling gun, wrapping around their leg and pulls. Dragging the knight to Misato, he raises the gun, now a musket with a bayonet, aiming to stab the knight but another grabs his arm, pulling him away. Misato raises his free arm, the gun reappears as a pistol over his elbow and slams it into the knight's ribs.
The knight lets go and Misato spins, swinging the end of the musket like a bat, smashing through the helmet and into their skull. He turns back finishing the downed knight.
S'yne blocks a sword with half of her scissor and connects the other half. She pushes forward, pinning the knight against the pillar, and then snips the sword and their neck.
A knight with a spiked gauntlet aims to punch the Gun Hero's head but he ducks the swing while slamming the end of a musket into their knee, breaking the armor with blunt force. Losing no momentum he swings the musket into the back of their head, knocking them out.
The Gun Hero turns around, seeing Melty, fires a slash made of water at a knight, removing their hand, allowing a shadow to sneak a knife through their armor.
Everyone else finishes off the enemies and they all take a knee, breathing heavily.
They all rest for a minute, trying to recover their energy.
They reach the final floor to the winding stairs that lead to the highest point of the Royal Castle, Misato pulls on the door, only for it to not move and he sighs, inserting the Key Gun. He looks at the screen to see another puzzle, the unlock skill is on cool down but thankfully the puzzle is simpler.
But then he hears multiple footsteps coming up to their floor, Misato turns around seeing the Sword Vanguard swinging her greatsword.
"Holy Slash!"
The Gun hero tosses his gun in front of the golden slash, transforming into a Gun carriage made completely out of metal and braces his body against it with some soldiers helping him.
The Holy slash slams into the Gun Carriage, pushing them, some soldiers catch Misato and the others, barely stopping the Legendary gun from tipping over them.
"There you are…" Adele says with a chuckle.
"Get that door open!" Misato yells, raising the Siderite Rifle.
Boom! Boom!
The eighth siderite bullet shatters to pieces taking the magic barrier down with it but the Vanguard and her platoon avoids the seventh siderite bullet, which pierces through the wall behind them. Dawn starts to pick the lock as quickly as she could as everyone charges behind Misato and S'yne.
"Deadeye!" Misato yells, marking his targets with the Siderite Gun and fires five times.
Adele raises her greatsword blocking the bullet while the other four each pierce a row of a few knights and soldiers.
"Firing line!" Misato yells, shooting a row of transparent muskets at them, damaging a few but the Vanguard remains unharmed with her weapon.
Misato follows it up by throwing the Gun Carriage at Adele who steps forward and swings her longsword using mana, launching it away. The carriage disappears, revealing Misato in the air, swinging a Great Gunsword right on top of the Vanguard.
Adele braces her greatsword against her body, and Misato's sword slides off of it, hitting the ground next to her, breaking the floor. Misato stumbles from the sudden change in direction and spins around, raising a shielded shotgun, blocking Adele's rapier.
The Good soldiers charge, clashing with the Church's soldiers and knights, holding them back as the two heroes fight the Sword Vanguard.
"Scissor Cut!" S'yne yells, and a powerful slash breaks a barrier, moving toward Adele, who raises a greatsword, blocking the attack. Misato turns, spraying with an SMG at the enemy soldiers and knights, helping the others the best he can.
Click!
Reload!
One SMG clip left…
S'yne raises her scissors, moving to the side, aiming the blades around Adele's neck but Adele jams the longsword in front of the scissors, stopping the weapon from snipping her head off. Misato fires at Adele with the shotgun, hitting a magic barrier on her flank and he curses at it.
The Sword Vanguard twists her wrist, lowering S'yne's weapon and arms, exposing S'yne to a mana enhanced punch to the chest launching the Vassal Hero back to Melty and the shadows, groaning.
"S'yne!" Melty yells, trying to heal the Sewing Set Hero's wounds. Misato curses, firing the shielded shotgun but Adele smacks the gun to the side, missing her and smashing the nearby window.
The Gun Hero grits his teeth, trying to keep the Shield Gun in front of his body as Adele wails on him with the longsword.
"Are you really the one who killed an army of a hundred?!" Adele scoffs, smacking Misato's weapon and arm far from his torso, exposing his body. She thrusts forward with the Sword Replica in its rapier form.
Clang!
Adele's rapier hits a large gun on Misato's chest, no longer in his hand, knocking the Gun hero back towards the door. Adele clicks her tongue.
"Damn stubborn weapon…" She mutters.
The Gun Hero takes a shallow breath, leaning back up, seeing all the friendly soldiers, injured, or dead, and surrounded by enemies. He looks forward, seeing Adele raise her greatsword.
"Holy slash!"
Misato hears someone scream, he raises his weapon, transforming it into the Gun Carriage, and braces himself. Holy slash slams into the weapon, the kinetic force sends Misato rolling back, and he raises his arm with a musket, stabbing the ground with it, stopping himself from hitting the door with the others.
The Gun Hero looks up seeing Adele go for another large swing and he raises the Gun Carriage.
…
But he hears nothing.
What happened?
"LOOK OUT!" Melty screeches, and Misato turns to see Adele on his flank, swinging the greatsword.
Misato's eyes widened as the Legendary Gun appeared on the side of his arm, taking the full force of the hit, preventing the greatsword from cutting him, but the force of the swing carries Misato painfully through the nearby pillar, shattering his esper forcefield and sends Misato flying into the wall at the side of the room.
The Gun places itself on Misato's back as he flies into the wall but it does little to soften the impact as his body forms a crater on the wall.
Warning: Esper Forcefield is down!
The Gun Hero coughs, struggling to get any air into his lungs. His body feels heavy, he can't breathe, he's so tired… Misato struggles to fight the urge to close his eyes.
As his vision narrows, he looks at Melty, trying to help S'yne stand, while Dusk and the other Shadow raise their knives in front of them as the Church knights approach them slowly. Misato's mind flashes at the dead bodies of his friends and family, surrounded by murderers.
NO!
His vision clears and he grits his teeth trying to force his body to stand.
"Get UP… GET UP YOU PIECE OF SHIT!" Misato screams to himself, as the Legendary gun transforms to a rifle, lifting Misato up to his feet.
The Gun Hero's body trembles, his broken wyvern vest slides off his body as he lowers his hands, transforming his gun into the Dragon Chain Gun, spinning.
Wrrrrrrrrrrr…
The Chaingun fires.
BBBBbbbbbrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!
The barrage of bullets mows through the exposed knights and soldiers around Melty and the shadows, even freeing the friendly soldiers.
Only Adele, her mage supporters and the soldiers further back downstairs remain unscathed behind the barriers. Misato targets the Sword Vanguard and his bullets whittle down the barrier bit by bit.

Out of Chaingun Ammo!
No…
Adele scoffs "Damn tenacious bug…" She raises her rapier, mana glows over the blade, intending to finish him off. A message appears in Misato's vision.
Recommendation:
Activate Emergency Full Combat Enhancement!
Warning-
Misato sees movement at the corner of his eyes, seeing Adele thrusting towards him.
"MISATO!" Melty screams, unable to stop the Vanguard, seeing the swordswoman move her sword in slow motion. The Princess looks at Misato, staring at his blue eyes.
Wait, blue?
Adele's arm turns into a gold blur as she multi thrusts her rapier at Misato.
Tint!Clang!Clang!Tintintin!CLANG!
A dust cloud erupts over the Sword Vanguard and the Gun slinging Hero. Melty holds her breath and the dust clears, revealing Misato is somehow unharmed, behind him are several large holes in the wall, with sunlight piercing through the holes.
The Gun Hero has a gun rapier raised in front of him against Adele's.
Melty gasps, her eyes widened realizing what happened. "Impossible… D-did he just-
"Parried all seven of my attacks in an instant?"Adele mutters, finishing Melty's thought.
Misato with now blue glowing eyes, stands firmly, and swings his sword. Adele raises to block, and Misato's sword shortens with a loud click, missing her block. He twists his body with the weapon near his chest.
"Wind Armor Pierce." He mutters and the wind-like drill shatters the barrier, pushing Adele back, she twists her body letting the bullet fly past her, creating a hole in the wall behind her.
The Sword Vanguard looks forward, finding Misato right in front of her.
So fast!
The Gun Hero thrusts forward with a shotgun, and Adele blocks the barrel with the flat side of her longsword. "Ramming Shot…" Misato says.
Boom!
Adele flies into the wall, groaning in pain, and looks up, seeing Misato flying towards her with both feet first, his legs encased in blue light. She raises the replica in its great sword form, blocking the kick and her back hits the cracking wall.
The Sword Vanguard grits her teeth from the kick, sensing an incredible amount of energy forming over Misato's legs. The blue light shines brightly blinding everyone looking at him.
"Lifeforce Technique… Repulse" Misato mutters and a ring of blue light forms around his feet, and Adele is launched through the broken wall, enlarging the hole to human size. The force of the blow shatters all of the windows in the room.
The Sword Vanguard flies out, landing and rolling hard on the roof nearby the tower.
"H-how did he…" Melty mutters in shock and yelps as Misato raises the Chimera Viper Pistol, firing at the enemies. S'yne eyes widened, seeing her health slowly regenerate, her chest doesn't hurt anymore.
The True Royal soldiers stand, limping over to the others as Misato cover fires, their wounds feel numb and they can see their scratches disappear.
Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!.
Some bullets hit their marks, killing while some bullets crush themselves against the magic barriers.
BANG!
Misato fires a sniper rifle, taking three enemies in a row.
Ratatatatatatatatata!
Misato sprays the last SMG clip at the Church platoon, and they retreat back down the narrow stairs in fear as the remaining barriers start to crack. While firing, Misato raises his other arm.
"Come to me, Vassal Staff…" The Gun Hero mutters and the weapon appears in his palm. The pink gemstone shines brightly in his hand, the SMG clicks empty, and he raises the Legendary gun, its blue gem shining bright as he connects the two weapons.

You can now use Magic Alteration:
A Gun Hero Exclusive spell that allows you to change enemy spells by casting at an equal or more to the spell's level. Then you can redirect them or combine them with your current skills and magic spells.
The Staff disappears from Misato, reappearing in Melty's hands.
"WHAT?!" Melty shrieks observing the small staff in her hands, unable to drop it.
"His weapon stopped shooting! Hurry take that bastard out!" A man yells and all the knights charge, rushing towards Misato.
"Faust Thunderbolt!" A mage yells, launching a bolt of lightning at Misato, who raises his hand.
"Faust Thunderbolt Alter" Misato mutters, catching the bolt and flings it back, striking a knight. A brave soldier swings their sword horizontally at Misato's waist. The Gun Hero smacks it aside with his own sword, and immediately thrusts the blade into the Soldier's head.
"Zweite Windwall." Misato mutters and multiple blades of wind form, blocking off half of the room.
A knight reaches out, only for their gauntlet to be ripped apart, cutting their hand. "AGH!" they scream.
"Door is unlocked!" Dawn yells and everyone scrambles to the door. Able body soldiers carry one and another, entering the room.
"Princess Melty." Misato says and Melty frowns. Didn't he say he would not call her that?
"What is it?" Melty says.
"This won't make much sense, but… I know Misato scared you… Seeing him so angry at your sister and father… But when this is over, please try to understand his point of view, try to know more about him before you make a conclusion about him…"
"Why are you speaking in third per-"
"Because you're not speaking to Misato, you're speaking to someone else in control of his body… When these eyes turn back to amber, tell him this…" Misato(?) Leans down to Melty, cupping his hand against her ear. "Forrest."
"What does that mean?" Melty asks, confused, what does a forest have to do with Misato's odd transformation?
"He'll know…" The Gun Hero says vaguely. "Can you promise me that you will try and understand him? To try to be better than your father?"
"I... I promise…" Melty nods. Her mother taught her that to be a good ruler, she must try and understand everyone, even her enemies to a certain extent.
"Good."
"Holy slash!" A familiar voice yells, breaking through Wind wall.
Misato(?), fires a blue flare, canceling out the slash and shoves Melty through the door. "Stay inside and hold out, I'll take care of Adele once and for all."
"But-" The Gun Hero slams the door shut, interrupting Melty's argument.
"Zweite Windwall." A wall made of wind blades blocks the door and the tower.
He turns around, passively facing the Sword Vanguard and her entourage.
"This is Forrest Smith, Previous Gun Hero, engaging…" He mutters, with a hint of nostalgia in his voice.
The Sword Vanguard rips off her cracked helmet, letting her fire colored hair free and glares at the Hero.
"I see now… Your desperate acts and looks of pain were false… How insulting… I demand you fight me at your full strength!" Adele commands, pointing her sword at the Gun Hero.
Forrest simply nods. "Alright…" His gun transforms into the Rapier Pistol and salutes.
Adele is surprised but transforms her weapon to a rapier and salutes back. The Sword Vanguard's platoon stand behind Adele, watching in rapt attention.
The two take their stances and Adele moves first, lunging, taking advantage of the hero being pressed against the wind wall. The Gun Hero moves his rapier in a clockwise motion parrying the lunge, but Adele stops herself from over extending into the Hero's sword and steps back.
Adele's eyes narrow at Forrest. It appears the gunslinger knows swordsmanship even more than the False Sword Hero.
Forrest steps forward thrusting, Adele steps back out of range and lunges back. The Hero deflects the rapier with a simple tap against the sword, and thrusts forward but Adele deflects the blade away.
The two step back, taking a breath from their initial bout trying to grasp each other's skills.
The Sword Vanguard frowns. How does this heretic have the energy to fight? From the reports of the scouts about the amount of dead bodies found with bullet wounds, his fight against the King and that brat, Malty, it's clear this man has fought for a long time, against very many. How can he keep going?
His eyes… Instead of gold, they are blue, why does his eyes make her feel so wary of him? The only other sword fighter that made Adele feel this way was Eclair Seaetto…
The Gun Hero lunges, breaking Adele's thoughts, the swordswoman steps back, out of reach, she then counter lunges but the Hero steps back.
The two continue their duel, going toe to toe against each other, both gaining and losing ground, an even match.
Meanwhile the temporary Gun Hero's Party rests, hearing Misato and Adele fight.
"I don't like Misato's odds…" A soldier comments with a wince.
"He's fighting alone out there, we should help!"
"How can we? Our levels are too low, the enemies are much stronger than us. We already lost Sam, Fred and Eric."
Melty frowns at the losses, clenching the staff tightly.
Boom! SMASH!
They hear stone and wood break and a loud thud from the roof near the tower.
Melty gasps, running up part of the winding stairs, looking through the window, seeing the Sword Vanguard on the roof in a crater.
Adele looks at her armor, the orb that enhanced her stats has been shattered… Bastard shot her with his gun on one hand while fighting her with a sword on the other hand. She looks at the hole she fell out of twice, seeing the heretic leap out high above her, raising his weapon.
Bang!
Adele flinches as the bullet bites into her shoulder through her armor. She transforms her weapon to the greatsword, using it to block the gunshots.
Bangbangbangbangbang!
The Gun hero fires his pistol, while falling face first.
The Sword Vanguard sees the Hero falling closer to her, so she raises the greatsword, aiming to stab him, using gravity to her advantage.
The Viper Pistol transforms into a Shielded Shotgun.
Clang!
The tip of the large sword hits the bottom edge of the shield, causing the Gun Hero to flip forward, with his back lying on the flat side of the greatsword, Forrest slams his boot on Adele, the boot digs into her right shoulder and the Gun reappears on Forrest's boot.
"Shrapnel!"
Boom!
Adele screams as the shrapnel explosion shreds her armor and neck. The recoil flips Forrest backwards and he lands in a crouch.
"Misato's body is much more agile and lighter than mine was…" Forrest thinks to himself.
"Damn you and your tricks…" Adele growls, the mages back on the tower cast healing spells, repairing the damage done to her body from the shrapnel.
"You demanded I fight with all my strength, I don't only fight with swords, remember?" Forrest responds. After all, Agathe, the Vassal Fencer Hero, and Ash, the Vassal Greatsword Hero, did teach him the basics but he isn't a sword fighter like them, it's just another option in fighting when the enemy gets too close.
The Sword Vanguard glares hatefully, swinging her longsword above her head, Forrest, using EP to energize his leg, allowing him to dash right past her in an instant. Adele gasps, seeing him and backswings but Forrest catches her wrist, tightening his grip, trying to crush it.
Adele winces, using her free hand to grab the sword and transforms it into a greatsword, aiming to cut off Forrest's or rather, Misato's torso. Forrest leaps back, avoiding the stab, Adele follows up, swinging the large sword horizontally, forcing Forrest to lean his back in an arch and backflips away from the swordswoman.
Forrest winces from the back bending move he pulled off, Misato's body is certainly not flexible enough to do something like that, poor guy… He is going to feel that later when this Gun Series effects wears off…
Adele lunges with the rapier but Forrest swings the Great Gunsword, cutting the roof and swings upward, smacking Adele's sword aside, exposing her. Forrest, using the momentum of the swing, twists around, leg locked in for a back kick. He lunges his foot out, with the Legendary weapon in the form of a shotgun appearing at the bottom of the boot, firing point blank.
Boom!
The Sword Vanguard cries out from the blast, breaking her armor completely, but she growls and swings her sword. But Forrest hooks the sword with the Gun-Staff or specifically, the Gun-Cane, smacking the end of it on Adele, and uppercuts her with his free hand. The Sword Vanguard stumbles back and the Previous Gun Hero raises the rapier pistol, aiming to stab until he sees flashes of light from the tower nearby.
Forrest turns to see a fireball and lightning bolt fling towards him. He backflips away from the fire and throws the gun at the lightning bolt hard, stopping the bolt and letting it electrify the gun away from Misato's body.
"May this sacred flame cleanse everything! Phoenix Blade!" Adele yells, launching a flaming bird towards Forrest who raises his hand.
"As source of thy power, and as the Previous Gun Hero, I Order thee… Decipher the laws of creation! Transmute my enemy's flames into mine! Liberation: Phoenix Alteration!" Forrest says.
The fire shaped bird spins, its flames turn blue, Forrest with his hand clenched, spins, moving the bird around his body and sends it towards the Mages supporting Adele. It breaks through its barriers with ease, diving right into the hole in the tower. The Church Mages cry out in agony, burning to death from the blue flames. Some leap out burning, crashing into the roof, dying.
"I-Impossible…" Adele gasps and turns to Forrest, only to see a blue gemmed sword flying towards her. She barely deflects it with her long sword and Forrest sprints towards her, his hand glowing, muttering something she cannot hear.
"Sword Pair Up!" Forrest yells, summoning a replica of Ren's first sword and lunges.
Adele, transforms her blade to a rapier, responding in kind.
"If I transform to the Greatsword in the last second, I'll strike before he does!"Adele thinks to herself.
Only for her sword arm to be suddenly whipped back, Adele turns, seeing a grappling hook attached to the remaining armor on her limb and at the end of the rope is a large carriage on the rooftop.
How?
"GUH!" Adele grunts, feeling something sharp pierce, her chest and she gasps, spitting out blood, realizing what happened.
He threw his weapon at her on purpose, using it to transform and hook on her arm, then weigh it down in a carriage form.
The moment Misato's eyes and weapon turned blue… She never stood a chance…
Adele coughs blood "Where did I go wrong…? I was supposed to be the strongest… I wanted to be the strongest…" She says crying, falling over.
Forrest catches her and gently lays the dying woman down. "I'm sorry it had to be this way… Please, spend your last moments looking at the sky…" He says respectfully, letting her go. He walks over to the Sword replica, grabbing it, transforming it into the longsword and walks towards the tower.
Normally, Adele would have spat at him, yelled, or cursed him until she died and yet right now, she doesn't feel the urge to do it. She doesn't feel the rage, nor the bitter envy of his strength, she feels nothing. Knowing death will come, she complies to his request, staring at the bright blue sky, basking in the sunlight.
The stunning sight fills her eyes with tears.
"It's… It's beautifu…" Adele stops mid word.
…
Everyone in the Gun Hero's party jaw drops, they all saw the Gun Hero fight Adele on the rooftops from the window.
He won… He defeated the Sword Vanguard, all by himself…
"He did it!" The soldiers cheer.
"Did you record it?" Dusk asks Dawn, who holds the crystal ball.
"Y-yes." Dawn confirms.
"I daresay the Queen needs to see this…" The third leading Shadow says and the other two nod in agreement.
They all move back downstairs to the door, hearing a commotion outside.
"IMPOSSIBLE! He killed the Sword Vanguard?!"
"RUN!"
The enemy soldiers flee, the party hears multiple footsteps leave the room. The sounds of the windwall spell disappear and they hear someone knocking on the door.
"Can you please open the door?" The Gun Hero says politely.
Henry and the soldiers scramble to remove the makeshift barricades, Melty and S'yne opens the door, finding Misato(?) with the Sword replica in his hands, somehow unscathed. The fire started by Phoenix Blade has been quenched.
He raises his hand, stopping everyone "Don't have much time… I need to do something quick." Forrest interrupts, grabbing the staff in Melty's hand, dragging her to the unconscious King. He cuts the rope tying the King's hand and makes his palm grasp the staff.
The Gun Hero's hands glow over Melty and the King's hands.
"May the Previous Staff Hero provide his Successor power…" Forrest says.
Pink light flows from the king, flowing towards the staff, and then the energy flows into Melty's arms, turning blue.
Melty gasps seeing something in the status magic window, her level is changing…
Melty Q Melromarc: Princess, Staff Hero Level 40
He leveled her up?!
"How did you- Misato!" Melty yelps as the Gun Hero passes out and S'yne catches him.
"The fight must have exhausted Misato again…" Dawn says, observing him, checking for wounds. Based on the green bar in her vision, Misato is physically fine like last time…
"How are we going to get out now?" Ake asks.
"Maybe if we-
"GAHHH!" Misato interrupts screaming as the gun electrocutes his chest again, painfully rousing him from his sleep. His eyes, no longer blue but gold. "FUCK!" Misato swears, breathing heavily.
It takes him a few seconds to check his surroundings, the silenced pistol appears on his hand, and he moves to stand with S'yne helping him up. "What happened- Ugh! Why does my back hurt?!" Misato winces, placing his hand on his back. It's like someone tried to break his spine or kicked it!
Due to the Emergency activation of Full Combat Enhancement, your stats have been de-buffed by 30%
Your stats will return to normal in 15 hours.
WHAT?!
"You don't remember…" Dawn gasps. "What did you remember before passing out?"
Misato furrows his brow, concentrating. "I remember slamming into that wall, Adele was ready to kill me and something appeared in my vision. It said something like 'Emergency Activate', with no options left, I activated it and blacked out."
Melty frowns, based on what she was told, everytime Misato's eyes turn blue, he fights and afterwards he doesn't recall a thing for some reason. "Because you're not speaking to Misato, you're speaking to someone else in control of his body." Misato(?) said, echoing in Melty's mind and her eyes widened.
"We have to go." Commander Henry says, reminding everyone of the situation.
Melty sighs, she'll tell Misato later.
Misato nods, transforming his gun into the mini teleport gun.
"Let's get the hell out of here…"
Misato, Melty, S'yne, the shadows and the good soldiers, leave the Castle. Misato uses his teleport bullets, grabbing as many people as he can, he fires, first landing on the castle wall, and fires another, landing on the ground. S'yne later appears with him with everyone else. They all travel down away from the castle by foot and the Gun notifies him that they made it out of the spell's AOE, so Misato immediately teleports everyone out and arrives at Reichnott's main town.
The rest was a blur for the exhausted Gun Hero. Many people came to speak to him, familiar, unfamiliar, but he couldn't make out the words they were saying. What stood out among the crowd of faces is a pretty woman with pink hair. She, Melty, S'yne and the Soldiers, help keep everyone from crowding him. S'yne and Melty both took each of his arms and pulled him away from everyone, entering a large familiar building, with a maid guiding them.
They enter a simple room with several beds, very soft looking beds… Misato moves to unhook his armor, only to find it already gone in a blink, and his boots were missing too, he couldn't even feel the presence of his weapon. Only his shirt and pants remain, with nothing else left to put down, the maid moves the blanket aside, allowing him to lay down with no hassle and she places the blanket back on top of him.
He can't find the energy to speak, too tired to even thank the maid. He turns to see Melty and S'yne laying in their beds, already asleep, before he could close his eyes, something appears in his vision.
Sending:
"I am safe."
To: Everyone.
Misato smiles, sighing, closing his eyes.
Fitoria sighs in relief seeing Misato's message.
Misato: "I'm safe."
Earlier, Fitoria was sprinting as fast as she could to the main capital of Melromarc after a day of receiving no message from Misato. The last message before this one was an ominous message about the Church 'making their move'.
Fitoria smiles, moving to call upon him, but stops smelling something.
Smoke?
The Filolial Queen walks through the bushes. Last she recalled, she is near Riyute Village, the place where the Second Wave in Melromarc occurred.
Fitoria moves aside the branch and gasps, seeing the buildings burning and several corpses on the ground, the elderly, the adults and even the children. What happened?
The Vassal Carriage Hero enters the town in a blink, she sees a crowd and leaps on the nearby roof, uncaring of the fire trying to burn her, she observes the crowd, hidden in plain sight.
She sees a soldier raise their sword over a child who is trying to shield a bleeding man from the sword wielder, and mid swing, Fitoria, moves.
Fitoria slams her palm, denting the iron chestplate of the soldier, knocking him into a flaming wooden wall.
"Who's that?" Someone whispers.
"It's Fia!" A child cheers.
"Fia? That means Misato and his party is here!" A man says and the crowd start to murmur in excitement, filled with hope.
Fitoria stares at the opposing soldiers, she sees one soldier holding the, irritating, Three Heroes Church flag billowing in the hot wind.
"Why… Why are you doing this?" Fitoria asks, trying to comprehend these atrocious actions.
"Such lies and wrong beliefs must be cleansed!" A man, in different armor with a cape says. Likely the leader of this group.
"How can you believe you are right by killing so many people like this with glee?" Fitoria asks, recalling the sick grins they all had before she intervened.
"How can we not? THIS IS THE CORRECT PATH FOR OUR ONE AND TRUE GOD!"
Fitoria winces, feeling a headache suddenly erupt, she presses her hand against her head, trying to suppress the pain.
Fitoria sees an old man standing above her, on one hand is the Legendary bow, its purple gemstone, was pale. The other hand, is the Legendary Shield, like the Bow, the green gemstone was pale as well. The old man laughs, holding the two weapons in his hands.
The sight of the weapons in his hands looked so… Wrong…
"Now I shall change the world, to create a truly Righteous World!" The madman yells.
Fitoria's vision changes, she sees Forrest, his white hair soaked in blood, surrounded by various corpses, he glares hatefully at all of the bodies.
"These people… They're goals, they're beliefs and their decisions to claim it by any means necessary… In spite of the fact that the Waves threaten to destroy everything, they still do this… It's disgusting…" He spat out.
Fitoria gasps, now in the present, seeing a soldier gleefully raise their sword to slash her. The soldier's eyes… Are just like that Madman. Fitoria's fist clenches.
The soldier's torso turns into red paste. Everyone gasps at the sight of the soldier dying in a blink of an eye. The soldiers tremble, feeling the bloodlust pouring out of Fitoria's small body, even all the villagers collapse on their knees.
"How… Repulsive… Your stubborn views of this world, your atrocious decisions… Disgusting, you… Are all Disgusting…" Fitoria mutters, her eyes glow blood red. This burning sensation in her chest… She hasn't felt this way in centuries.
Misato… He did it, he united the Cardinal Heroes and these… These 'people' want to destroy that… Just because they were wrong, just because they wanted to keep their petty power over the majority of the population… Even at the risk of the entire world…
Such 'people', such grotesque wishes to selfishly ignore the truth… It's DISGUSTING. Such 'people'… Must… all…

Welcome to the end of this chapter, thank you for reading all the way to the end.
This was an action-packed chapter, I had fun writing the fight scenes trying to picture how Misato fought and be more creative with his Gun than just spamming Skills and pulling the trigger a bunch of times. I hope you all liked it.
I'm so happy to see everyone enjoying the last chapter where Misato roasts the hell out of Malty and the King.
I changed the Vassal Duelist and turned it into Vassal Fencer from the world the Legendary Gun came from.
I was also writing a new fanfic called "The Marksman is Curious of the Hero." A Banished from the Hero's Party Fanfic about an OC X Female Character. It's in my Archive of Our Own Account because doesn't have an archive for this Anime. Gotta spread my wings a bit and change fandoms.
Hope I managed to justify the teleportation bullet, I figured it could be possible for the spell to be accidentally too specific, not designed for a smaller variant of it, especially if the Church or rather the Cult is casting the spell arrogantly believing they got the Heroes trapped. Maybe more dangerous enemies can prevent it…

That's right, the new mystery series allows Forrest to somehow take over Misato's body and fight. Hope you all like it and can see the difference between Misato and Forrest with how they fight and deal with their enemies. However, this is just one feature of the series.
The Gun Hero Exclusive magic, Magic Alteration, basically he can sort of Avatar style, redirect the spells back to the casters or a different target with the appropriate levels or combine the spells into his own magic or skills all of which are doable within a certain range. Kind of like Absorb or Enchant. Hope you like it, if not please give me a suggestion in the reviews. Initially I thought of naming it Magic Manipulation, but I realized when casting it, the spell name is way too long.
I figured it would make sense that the King's levels he gained from his time as the Staff Hero could be converted to Melty, the New Staff Hero, kind of like the Demonic Dragon Emperor (Gaelion the Second Dragon) taking levels from Filo.
And hopefully it makes sense for Forrest to know how to convert those levels. Since Vassal Weapons can't ditch their Heroes the moment they turn into dumbasses, level conversion is a unique thing a Cardinal Hero is capable of, something long forgotten.
It's rare and unique because it requires the Previous Vassal Hero and the New Vassal Hero to be both alive with a Cardinal Hero helping them convert levels. And that's if they know it's possible. Forrest certainly did.
As for what the Mystery Gun Series name is, I'll give you a hint, notice how some numbers could look like letters? That's all I'm telling you until the next chapter where the mystery series might be revealed.
