Merle scowls as he hovers behind Harry as they all sit around to discuss Randal, fucking idiots the lot of them. He makes sure his expression is conveying his discontent with the whole thing. He uncrosses his and sets his hands on the back of Harry's chair leaning forward he sneers at them all.
"The fuck were y'all thinking? Oh right ya weren't." He spits out.
Officer Friendly gave him a look, "I couldn't leave him there."
"What the fuck do you mean? You left me and I didn't shoot at your ass." He scoffs the fuck.
"That was different-"
"Bullshit, I wasn't the enemy and by bullets wouldn't have don't shit with the way the sound ricocheted- you know what! fuck you and your mamma! I don't care." He only stops because he doesn't want to end up screaming in Harry's ear.
See he can be considerate.
Rick glares, "real mature,"
The ass looks to them all, "I know it's a difficult situation but we can't just let this world turn us into-"
"-Into what?" Shane asks, shaking his head.
"You shouldn't have brought the boy here, they clearly have a bigger group, and if they find out about us." He scoffs all ugly with his misshapen head.
He knows the only reason batshit Shane is saying that is because it contradicts his best friend's wishes, the two have been pissing on Lori the whole time.
"We can't just kill him!" Dale says, looking at them all.
"We aren't monsters."
"But they could be," Harry speaks up, standing up.
"What' you mean?" T-dog asks.
Harry gives him a look and says what the women already know, "We already had plenty of vile men before society crumbled, now that there isn't a way of law," Merle wants to laugh as Harry purposely looks towards the two officers as he says this.
"We can't afford to be pliable, we can't afford to allow ourselves to be taken by surprise anymore. One instance of a slip-up means life or death." Daryl who had been by the doorway steps out of the way as Harry passes, Rick calls out Harry's name as the other starts to walk out.
Harry doesn't answer and walks out of the house.
"Where are you going?" Rick demands in a commanding tone, and Harry pauses and looks over his shoulder, and even Merle has to shiver, Rick seems to lose his momentum because he looks away, and only then does Harry answer.
"To find out just what we are dealing with, you all can debate on the problem all you want, I'm not gonna sit here while an unknown and potential threat is not even twenty meters away."
"What are you gonna do, sprinkle fairy dust over him and make him forget?" Shane sneers.
Harry's lip twitches, even as his voice says dull, "funny."
"You're gonna kill him, torture the kid!?" Dale asks, looking appalled.
Harry gives the old man a dismissive look, "I am not gonna waste my time trying to talk to a brick wall and a broken record."
Merle laughs as he takes Harry's seat feeling like it would be in their best interest if one of them stays and keeps informed of the other's thoughts while Daryl takes his subtle nod as an okay to follow Harry.
"Think the vet would have some ice for that burn?" He taunts.
Jenner looks up from his camp area, a few feet away from Harry. The only person he feels comfortable with and who is the only reason he even bothers with this hellscape of a world. The fact that he may be the key to humanity's survival only heightens that.
There is a tense look on Harry's face as he walks away from the house and Jenner sees him cast an irritated look at the makeshift prison they have the boy in.
"They are all so annoying," Jenner hears Harry grumble as he plops onto the folding chair next to him.
"Hm?" That is all he says, and much to his relief Harry doesn't get offended when he isn't verbal like the others tend to get frustrated when he doesn't reply every time. Daryl walks up after getting a couple of bottles of water.
"They still think they're in paradise," he says as he hands them all a drink, with Jenner nodding in thanks.
Harry snorts into his drink, "This isn't paradise, this is an illusion."
"You ain't gotta tell me," Daryl agrees.
He watches as Harry runs his hands through his hair, which is now longer than when they first met, "I am sick of this,"
Harry tilts his head to look up at the evening sky, "This mirage, we need to get serious before we all end up dead. I am at my wit's end sitting here like sitting ducks."
Jenner clears his throat, setting his sewing kit down,
"You know I go where you go." He says.
His only motivation at this point is seeing the young man become the beacon of salvation that Jenner suspects the other to be. The young man has something special in him, and if the universe is just Jenner may get to witness it.
Daryl nods.
"You know where we stand," is all he says.
Harry chucked self-deprecatingly, "Thanks, but it's not like I, we can just leave, I have Carl and Lori, not to mention Sophia. My sister isn't going to leave Rick and Carl loves his dad and would be disappointed with me if I left."
"Carol would come for Sophia's sake, and Rick wouldn't let anything happen to his, and your family, despite his faults," Daryl chimes in trying to soothe the shorter man.
Jenner watches in fascination as Daryl glows red under the firelight when Harry gives him a grateful, yet rueful smile, and says "I know, it's just not who I am to abandon them for my selfishness."
'And that's why we follow you.' Jenner thinks, sharing a look with Daryl who seems to be thinking the same, or more deeper feeling if the intense gaze settled upon Harry is any indication.
Seems like he has some gossip for Jaqui after all.
Harry steps into the barn, cleared out and currently holding their prisoner.
A young man by the name of Randall. His leg is sprawled out and Harry can see the blood that soaked through from the wound. He lets Daryl and Merle in after and shuts the door, the others of the group too scared to go down this route.
He thinks Rick's playing out of sight out of mind with this.
The younger man, who apparently knows Maggie, looks up, frantic as he asks, "W-what's happening, am I going to die?"
Merle snorts, "That depends on you," brandishing his stump with a spiked gauntlet attached, the Oaf came back with the spiked ball, and asked Harry to make something out of it.
The pleading face on such a tall and burly man should not be as adorable as it was. Though the crush he has on the Dixon's might play into that. If Harry used a little magic to create holsters to secure the thing to his arm until then that's his prerogative
The boy's eyes widen in fear as he catches sight of the mallet.
"Holy shit! What the hell!" He says backing up as much as he can.
Harry catches Daryl grinning a little at the display of fear and Harry feels that he should scold the man, meh.
"We just want to get to know you," Harry says with a false sense of security in his voice as he crouches down.
"You have a name?" He asks, throwing the kid a bottle of water.
The boy takes it in desperation, chugging the whole thing like he's afraid they'll take it from him, they could just make him vomit it up, but he doesn't tell the boy that, instead, waits for the answer.
"Randall, Randall Culver," he says after seeing they want his full name.
"And the group? How many of them?"
He looks between the taller men, "W-why should I speak, you're just gonna kill me anyway."
Harry tilts his head feeling frustrated when the other keeps avoiding his eyes.
" Maybe," he allows, the wide-eyed stare shoots up to him as he straightens.
'Gotcha'
Harry loses his friendly persona, his face pulling into the same terrifying expression Snape always managed to make without having any emotions displayed, "That's all up to you."
And he's the next moment he is inside the mind of Randall.
A/n:
Sorry for the cliff hanger ;)
So…? Will Randall be innocent when Harry find out the horror's of his group?
Will Shane still manage to fuck everything up or will Harry just get rid of the problem himself?
