It's the next day and we see Ace walk through the streets of Bonesborough while humming a tune. Red was in his wolf form, walking by his feet.

Today was a good day, so they felt like going out.

Right now, we see Ace go up to a vendor cart and say, "One, please."

A second later, the vendor gave Ace a plate of the Isles' version of nachos [Imagine regular melted cheese on top of red chips].

Ace payed the man and he and Red went over to a bench and sat down on it. He threw his palisman three chips and he ate them. Ace put on some spirit peppers on them and just when he was about to take a bite, he suddenly got up and slid to the right.

Why? Because at that moment, a strike from someone's staff came to hit Ace. But, the Adri son saw it coming a mile away. Instead, the strike ended up cracking thr bench.

"Hey, Goldie, how's everything going? Miss me? Looks like you did. *eats chips*"

The guy who tried to strike him was someone on the Boiling Isles that no one wanted to mess with, Belos' number two, and the second person on the Isles that Ace liked to toy with the most. Say hello to the Golden Guard. Or Hunter, if you want to use his real name.

I know it's way too early to be introducing Hunter, but that's when Luz meets him, who said anything about Ace?

"I thought I told you not to call me that." he said, turning to Ace, staff in hand.

"*smiles* What, no handshake? No high five? No hug? How do you guys live? You work for a dude who lost to a kid and is against wild magic for some reason*crunch*, the guy at the top of your capture list keeps getting away*crunch*, and you don't even give your buddies any sign of appreciation.*crunch*"

"We are not buddies. I have strict orders to arrest you and bring you to Emperor Belos. You are coming with me; one way, or another."

"Didn't you say something like that last week? And the week before that? And the week before that, and the week before that, and the week before that, and the week before that, and the week before that, and the week before that, and the week before that, and the week before that, an-"

"SHUT IT!"

"Hey! I'm almost done! Don't be rude! And the week before that, and the week before that, and the week before that, and the week before that? There you go, Hunter. Here, have a snack on me."

He gave the guy his nachos.

Well, slammed them into his face then laughed.

"My bad, on you."

Ace then walked away as Red got on his back and became his jacket.

Okay, to say that he was getting sick of Ace was an understatement. These two have been doing things like this for the longest. It's wash, rinse, repeat: Ace is out chilling, Hunter shows up claiming to catch him, Ace annoys the heck out of him, Hunter gets angry and they fight, Ace gets away.

This is actually what happens with everyone that works for Belos. No matter what, they never come out on top. Some of the scouts are either too annoyed with Ace to deal with him, or too scared to fight him because Ace has always done something that made them not want to fight him because they can barely counter any the attacks he gives, magic and melee.

Hunter scraped the nachos off his mask. You can tell from the rage on his masked face that he has had enough of Ace.

Back to the Ace of Spades himself, he was a decent distance away, walking, humming, hands in his pockets.

Out of nowhere, he stepped back to avoid Hunter appearing in front of him, almost hitting him.

He swung at him with his staff, but Ace blocked it with his axe, single-handed.

"C'mon, Goldie, admit it, you like having me around. That's why you never catch me." "Don't speak to soon."

As both the tip/gem on top of Hunter's staff and Ace's spade glowed, the two started fighting with their weapons.

Hunter was determined to both wipe that smile off Ace's face, and turn him in for...well, no one can actually tell why Ace was wanted in the first place, before he was wanted by the Emperor's Coven I mean, but whatever it was, he would pay for it.

Ace on the other hand, he's thinking about how he could get Hunter riled up this time. To be honest, Ace was chilling today because he had nothing better to do. Luckily, Hunter showed up to change that.

We see said Golden Guard lunge forward at Ace. Yet, when he was a foot from him, Ace froze him with his time magic giving him a red aura around him.

"I'm gonna go get a drink. Don't go anywhere."

Ace walked into one of his portals into his home, leaving Hunter still frozen in time.

Four minutes later...

Ace came back through a portal with a glass with an orange drink in it, along with a straw, and a tiny umbrella.

He took a sip before saying, "Could be a little cooler."

He snapped his fingers and a big portal appeared above Hunter, who was still frozen in time. Out of the portal came a huge sum of snow. which all piled onto Hunter. It was a lot, so Hunter appeared waist deep in the snow.

Five seconds earlier, at the Knee...

We see Eda walking away from a rock that she sat Luz down on to help her learn a second spell.

At that moment, she sees a spade shaped portal appear and some snow go through it.

She sighed and shook her head saying, "You really are something, kid."

She almost felt sorry for whoever it was this time.

Back with Ace...

The boy in question grabbed a handful of snow and dropped it in his drink. He then stirred it with his straw then took a sip.

"Nice-y icy...kinda...-cy."

he then realized, "Oh, right."

With his magic, he made all the snow entrap Hunter in a huge snowball. He then went behind it and kicked it away. It then rolled off. When it was out of sight, Ace snapped his fingers unfreezing Hunter.

"It's been fun, Goldie. See ya next time." Ace said, before drinking his drink.

It's later in the evening and we see Ace hanging upside-down from a tree branch eating spirit peppers.

His spade suddenly flashed twice.

He blinked and his eyes were glowing blue.

"This is Ace Adri." "Ace, you are not gonna believe this!" "I'm all ears, Luz."

Using the charm that Ace gave her, Luz was calling Ace.

"I learned a new magic glyph!" "Ooh, nice. What is it, something cool?" "You could say that..."

"Oh, so an ice one. Nice one."

Luz laughed a little at that.

"Y'know, I did something with snow earlier today. Some guy picked a fight with me. Long story short, I froze him in time, buried him in snow, left to get a drink, came back, and left him rolling away in a big snowball. Ten snails says he'll come back next week."

"Wait, you mean he fights you regularly?"

"Oh yeah. Every week he shows up when I'm alone and tries to get me to Belos."

"Does he get close?"

"You know who you're talking to right?"

"Oh, right. Anyway, now that I have a second glyph, I can learn magic at Hexside in class not meant for children!"

"Not gonna ask about that; Well done, Superstar. Hey, I'll be there to congratulate you there on your first day."

"Really?"

"Well I can't go in with you can I? I don't go to school. You do, therefore, I can congratulate you. I'll even bring a cake."

"Wait, you don't go to school?"

"You really love asking me questions, don't you? Nah, never went. Self taught."

"Huh."

"Yep. Now about the cake..."

Okay, so the chapter was running short, so I'll have to throw the next episode in here.

A few days later...

Changing the scene to Hexside, we see Ace appear through a portal holding a white and pink colored circular cake with edible jewels in a circle on top in his left hand.

He saw Luz and Eda arrive on Owlbert and approached them saying, "Check you out in your new uniform."

"Hi, Ace!" "Hey, kid."

"Guess who brought cake like he said? Well done, Superstar for being the first ever human to join a school for wi-"

"Quit talking and cut the cake already!" interrupted Eda.

"Gotcha."

While whistling, Ace spun the cake plate around on one finger and threw the whole thing in the air minus the plate. With his free hand, he spawned in his axe and threw it after the cake. It cut the cake clean in half and after that, it went through one of Ace's portals and appeared through another one and cut the cake again.

This repeated until the cake was in twelve equal pieces.

As the slices fell, Ace did a tornado spin; not strong enough to pull Eda and Luz in, but strong enough to catch the cake slices and swirl them around him. In the air, Ace opened another portal which allowed the portal to pull in some plates.

As the tornado dissipated, Ace landed on the ground, and afterwards raised his palm making vines grow from the ground. Each vine then caught a cake slice on a plate.

"Piece of cake...well, twelve."

Both the witch and the human took a slice from the vines and ate.

"Say what you want about Ace, he knows how to bake."

"Oh Eda, stop. You're just feeding my already massive ego."

After this, Luz left for her first day. Eda rode home on her staff, with three extra slices of cake.

Ace, he had nothing to do.

The good in him told him told to go chill like yesterday. The fun side of him told him to sneak into Hexside, explore, and maybe cause some mischief.

Obviously he went with his fun side.

"Well, that's the end of Choosy Hat."

Ace was invisible, walking casually through the halls of Hexside. He's been on a couple of stealth missions, so he knows what he's doing.

The whole time he's been in this school, he's been up to both good and slightly less good.

Just now he saved a student from a rabid hat by yanking it off with one hand, burning it, and throwing it through a portal that led to the boiling sea. Doubt we'll ever see it again. That perplexed everyone because they couldn't see who did it.

Before that, he sneaked into the cafeteria and 'accidentally' dropped a yellow spirit peeper into a pot of food. What happened after that was the pot exploding sending food everywhere. Whatever was in it made it combust when the pepper was added.

Before that, he was met with some of the campus security. Without being seen, he took them all out. Like I said before, he's been on stealth missions before. He can clean out a whole room of guards in less than two minutes without being seen.

Right now, he's looking around to see what he can do now.

He saw a double door and his curiosity told him to look through it's windows. It looked like auditorium.

What he wasn't expecting to see was a huge basilisk that completely drained the magic from a student and Principle Bump. The student he remembers. Luz mentioned her a few times: Amity Blight.

"Okay! Some action! Let's get it!"

Ace went visible then raised his foot and kicked the doors...right off the hinges and at the basilisk.

"*smiles and whistles* 'Sup, name's Ace. But you can call me the best witch to have ever given you a hard time."

The basilisk sniffed the air before saying, "Your scent...You're different..."

"Funny thing, you're not the first one to tell me that."

"I'm sure yours will taste magnificent."

This got Bump's and Amity's attention, even though they were a bit weak.

"Y'know, I just might take you up on that offer."

As the basilisk opened her mouth she was given a literal shock. The cause of that was two clouds that Ace formed that struck her with lightning. This made her slouch a bit.

"That is, if you can catch me!"

Ace then ran off into the halls laughing.

The basilisk got back up and chased after him.

Ace slid to a stop when an intersection came, then ran to the left.

The basilisk was quick and coming, but Ace was quicker and going.

"I thought you were hungry? If you weren't, you could've said something!"

I'll never know how he can do that. He's still cracking jokes in a situation like this.

Ace then backflipped on to the creature's back then covered her eyes with one of his now stretchy arms. She couldn't see where she was going.

"Uh oh, someone can't see!"

Up ahead, he saw Luz, Willow, and Gus.

A small portal appeared by Luz's shoulder, and Ace's free and normal hand went through and tapped her on the shoulder. She turned to it, and the hand pointed at the incoming sight.

The other two looked where she looked and they all screamed and jumped out of the way as Ace came riding through. After they move Ace moved his stretchy arm as he made the inspector crash into a wall before jumping off her.

"I was gonna say 'Where are the breaks?', but that works too."

Luz, Willow, and Gus came over and the human asked, "Ace, what happened?!"

"Long story short: The 'inspector' that came to school was a basilisk in disguise and came to feed on everyone's magic. It already drained Bump and your friend Amity before I showed up."

Before Luz could ask what he was doing here in the first place, she tensed up, along with her friends minus Ace.

"What's up? Something behind my back?"

The basilisk was about to drain Ace's magic, but she was conked in the head by Ace who hit her with the back of his axe.

Confused on how he was on her again, she looked at the Ace that was in front of her which disappeared a second after waving at her. It was an illusion.

She looked at the original Ace who wasn't on her, but down the hall, skating away on his now icy feet.

"C'mon! I'm over here! What are you waiting for?! You can't copy me and get cold feet now!"

She was starting to see why he said that he would be the best witch to have ever given her a hard time. He was getting on her nerves. Before she chased after him again, she turned to his friends before saying.

"Before the main course, I'll help myself to some appetizers."

She then drained Willow and Gus. Luz threw a light glyph at her to defend herself, but when the inspector ate it, her reaction was like when Luz ate one of Ace's peppers. Seeing this as an opportunity, she got her friends up and left to some new friends she met today.

As for the inspector, after she got that taste out of her mouth, she went back to getting after Ace.

"Stay still!" "I would, but where's the fun in that?"

While being chased by the greater basilisk, Ace was using his magic to get anyone in the way out of harm's way.

The inspector lunged forward only to crash into another wall. At that moment, she chased Ace to the end of the hall which was hidden by an illusion of a skating Ace.

"IF YOU DO THAT ONE MORE TIME!"

In response, she was given the sound of Ace's laughter coming from every direction. She roared in frustration before setting off to find him again.

As for the actual Ace he was skating down a different hallway. Suddenly his spade flashed twice. He blinked his eyes and answered the call.

"This is Ace."

"Ace, I'm back at the hall where you saw me. I need you to get the basilisk to try to grab you. When it does, portal me in front of you. I have a plan."

"Gotcha, Superstar. Get ready."

At that moment, Ace ended the call as came to the end of a long hallway. He pulled out a drumstick from each pocket and started making a beat on the walls. To be honest, it's a good beat. Surprisingly, it was echoing through the halls.

Five seconds later, the inspector appeared looking from the corner.

"Guess you like my drumming. I play a lot of instruments so feel free to ask for a sample sometime." "Oh, I'll take more than a sample from you..."

She came charging at Ace.

Just about when she was about to get him, he took a step back and opened a portal above. Out of it came Luz in a cloak. As she landed, she slammed a glyph into the ground making an ice pillar appear and knock the inspector back.

"From humblest of beginnings, a hero will rise. I've trained with a secret society to discover the power of mixing magic! I am-"

"Dinner!"

She yelped then hid behind Ace, who started drumming even quicker and louder. Thanks to bard magic, the sound waves from the beat made the inspector wince and get back.

Luz then said, "Viney! Do the thing, do the thing!"

Then, a griffin flew in and tackled the inspector into the wall.

"Attagirl, Puddles!" a girl named Viney said, running in, "Jerbo, now!"

The inspector clawed at Puddles and threw her, then fell through an opened door in the floor. Luz hops in after it, sending it through another door in the floor.

The inspector ended up back in the auditorium, landing on the stage.

Luz fell through the ceiling after the inspector, landing on its stomach and flipping off of it to land on the stage.

"It's all you, Barcus!"

A dog student named Barcus barked, then grabbed the inspector's palm. He dumped a potion onto the inspector's hand. He squints at it, then his eyes glow before yipping something.

"What's he doing? What'd he say?"

"He's reading your palm, and your future looks bleak." Luz answered the creature, as Viney, Puddles, Jerbo, and Ace lowered to the ground thanks to the latter's tornado spin.

Suddenly, sandbags from above thanks to Jerbo's abomination and Viney's griffin. It made all the magic the inspector ate release from her mouth and return to each witch it was taken from. Magic flies through the air as it returns to other schools.

After that, Viney heals Puddles's scratched claw. Said girl was hugged by Luz who squealed and said, "You did it! You were amazing! You guys-"

"Are in so much trouble."

Everyone turned to Principle Bump.

"Leaving your homeroom, mixing magic and- Is that a secret hideout?"

He then turned his attention to Ace.

"And you! Who are you? What are you doing on school grounds?"

"To your second question: snuck in. How else? It wasn't that hard. I went the whole day without anyone seeing me. Your first question:"

Ace's spade glowed at that moment before he said, "Ace Adri. Nice to meet you."

This made the students gasp because they knew who it was and couldn't believe that the Ace of Spades was in front of them right now. Let's just say they were fans of him and his work.

"Look, Principal Bump." Luz said, trying to get everyone back on topic, "Ask yourself this, why would kids in the detention track need a secret hideout?"

"I don't care to know the ins and outs of rascality. *Pulls out rule book.* But if the Emperor's Coven can send an actual inspector this time-

"Okay, you need coven money. But if you have to hurt your students to get it, what's the point? They saved Hexside. They should be allowed to study what they wish."

"B-but- *gets book taken by Ace*"

"C'mon, Bump," the Adri son said, "can we forget the rules for a second? Isn't that the point of magic anyway? To bend the rules?"

This kid's going places.

"...Alright, I'm smart enough to know when I've made a mistake. Which tracks would you like to be in?"

That got the students excited. Viney was now in Healing and Beast Keeping, Jerbo was now in Plants and Abomination, Barcus was now in Oracle and Potions, and Luz was in every track.

Now for Ace.

"I'd also say all of them...if I went to school. I'm self taught. I don't think there's anything left for me to learn, anyway. Then again, I think it'd be cool to actually go to school..."

"Okay, how about this? Next school day, you see me in my office and I'll get you set. I'd like to know what other things you're capable of."

"Really?" the five of them said. Bump nodded.

"You know I won't let you down." Ace said.

Ace high fived Luz as the other three students were excited. Right after they were now allowed to join more than one coven track, they found the Ace of Spades was going to their school.

What could be better than this?
