A Double Twisted Nightmare Chapter 1
It is July 4th 1998 and all of Raccoon City is celebrating Independence Day, including the Raccoon Police Department. People were getting drunk and enjoying themselves and they got a lucky break, very little crime has happened today and people were actually being responsible this day.
The members of S.T.A.R.S were also celebrating in the main lobby, Forrest had challenged Brad to a drinking contest and he was winning while Brad wanted to throw up, Richard was laughing at them.
Kenneth was watching everything sober and a trained eye and told everyone that asked him to live a little that "I've had my time doing all that, I would like the reach my 90th birthday thank you very much."
Edward and Joseph were a tad drunk and arm wrestling and oh boy Joseph is a sore loser.
Barry and Enrico were watching the festivities and keeping an eye on Rebecca; to make sure no one would give her a drink (spiked or not) or give her a hard time, though Barry is about ready to go home to be with his wife and daughters.
Rebecca was watching everything around her in amusement, she can't drink or smoke for she is still a minor but looking around at everyone she wonders if she will one day experiment with the stuff considering the people around her are doing and what she has learned at school.
Jill was drinking a margarita, and looking around at what will be a huge mess in the morning and laughing lightly to herself, and Captain Wesker seems to have disappeared somewhere, though he was never one for these parties.
Then we have Chris and Claire, Chris was enjoying the party as well as the company of his sister, alas they don't see each other very often for Chris lives in Raccoon City because of his job and Claire was attending college out in Tennessee, but every time Claire had a break from school she would come up and visit him and this time she had all of June and July so she could spend the summer with him before going back to college. They were close siblings mainly due to reasons back in their childhood but that will be revealed all too soon.
Claire spoke, "Say Chris throughout the entire time you've been working at S.T.A.R.S I have never once been into the office, can I please see it tonight?"
Chris thinks for a moment, "I don't know Claire, Captain Wesker says that unless a person has something to do with S.T.A.R.S or if its an emergency then they are not allowed in the office."
Claire tugs his arm, "Come on big brother, I just want to see it at least once while your here and I think Captain Wesker took off a while ago. From what I heard he doesn't like parties, so we will be be just fine."
Chris frowns, "Maybe but there are security cameras, someone will watch the recording and we will both be in big trouble and no offense Claire I really need to keep this job."
Claire laughs lightly, "True you need this job, but hey I did take a couple electronics classes at school. I should be able to hack the cameras after your done showing me around and erase the part that we are featured in. So there no harm done."
Chris was still hesitate, "Are you sure you can do that? Sure I can take you to the camera room after that but it won't be messed up or anything that will make people suspicious?"
Claire says, "I'm positive I can handle it, now plllleeeeaaaasssseeee take me there?" She gives Chris the puppy eyes.
Chris laughed, "All right, all right, we can go there now, but if I get into trouble because of this I'll get you."
Claire smiles and says, "Come on then, let's go then!"
They went up to the second floor stairs in the main lobby, going through the library and reaching the lounge area before going into the hallway that leads to S.T.A.R.S office. Chris opens the door and shows Claire where his desk is, the other's desks and the armory but Claire took notice that there was a another room in the office.
"Say Chris it that Captain Wesker's office?" she asks.
"Yes," Chris says, "But you can forget it Claire, the Captain has every inch of that room memorized, he'll know know if there's a hair out of place and then shit will hit the fan. Believe me you don't want that."
"But that makes me want to see it more! Please Chris, I swear that I won't touch anything." Claire begs Chris.
Chris sighed, "All right Claire but it might be locked so if it is, that is that, no lock picking. The captain knows how to recognize tampered locks."
Claire was not happy to hear that, but had to agree. Chris then grabs the knob and to his shock the door opens. Chris knew that Wesker was a man who valued his privacy and always locked the door whenever he wasn't in. But Claire got excited to see the captains office and went in and Chris followed but there was another surprise.
Both stared in shock at the desk, rather than organized papers they were scattered over it. Chris could not believe that his neat and tidy Captain left the papers just like that, every time he had been in here it was always spic and span. Claire was shocked that the captain could actually be a messy person but then she moved around the desk to the other side.
"Claire! What are you doing?!" Chris yells, "Get back here!"
Claire looks at the papers, "Sorry Chris but this just seems unreal to me that Captain Wesker would just leave his work like this."
Chris scowls at her, "Believe me I'm pretty surprised myself but you can't be over there. Now get back here so we can-Watch out!"
Claire had started to come back around the desk but she lost her footing and some of the papers fell.
Chris pinched the spot between his eyes, "Seriously Claire, are you trying to get me fired? Now the captain will know someone was in here when they weren't suppose to be."
"I'm so sorry Chris!" Claire apologizes, "Look I'll just put them back on the desk, unorganized like the rest of them and ..."
Claire trailed off staring at one of the papers, it says message from Umbrella Corporation. Chris stared at her not understanding why she became quiet.
"Claire? Is something the matter?" Chris asks.
"Say Chris why is there an Umbrella document here?" Claire asks.
"Umbrella?" Chris repeats in confusion. Claire grabs the paper and stands up with Chris coming along side her.
"I don't know why there would be an Umbrella document here. Maybe the captain knows someone from there?" Chris staring at the top of the paper. But another question forms why would Wesker bring this here?
Chris and Claire then start to read it:
To: Captain Albert Wesker
It has come to our attention that the Arklay Facility has gotten out of hand and that it shows no sign of stopping. We will attempt one more time to reclaim the facility from the experiments if we are unsuccessful you and the S.T.A.R.S. teams are to move in. The S.T.A.R.S are to used to gather combat data from the experiments, then they are to be disposed of accordingly. Until the murders get out of hand keep training the teams to ensure the best possible outcome for the combat data.
From Umbrella Corporation
Both Chris and Claire stare in shock.
"I-I can't believe this! I respected this man! But he is just going to throw us away?!" Chris was furious.
Claire was just as angry, "How could they do something so inhumane! Experiments? More like poor souls who didn't know what they were getting into. And now their gonna sacrifice more people just to get data!"
Unfortunately for the Redfield siblings they were so enraged about what they had learned that they had forgot that the captains office door was open and two shadows snuck up behind them.
"Chris," Claire starts, "We got to show this to the others, we have to let them kn-"
"That Dearheart won't be happening." someone interrupts from behind them. Chris and Claire try to turn around but the two are knocked out before they can confront anyone.
