Serbia sits in her room smiling pleasantly. Addressing her computer, she says: "Well Japan, I think you English skills are progressing. You are able to express your thoughts and articulate words well."

"Thank you", Japan, who is on the video chat says relieved. "Hopefully, the tourist to my country will be pleased."

"I'm sure they will. Take care and good luck" she says and waves.

Japan waves back as she ends the call.

The room is quiet. Serbia launges back in her chair and takes a sip of coffee in silence. Noticing our stare, she turns to the screen. "What?" she asks confused.

Very soon, she straightens up, starts another video call and sings: "Hello! How are you?"*

*Shocking as this may be, many people from the Balkans teach English to Asian people. So, in some sense, regular people of the Balkans have a better connection to the regular people of Asian countries than most politicians.
