Chapter 4

Just as Kazuto reawakened the Boosted Gear, Ravel approached the Maou's, a man with red hair called Sirzechs, and a beautiful woman with long black hair tied into twin tails, and wore a magical girls outfit called Serafall, both looking towards Ravel with curious eyes.

"...Could you say that again?" Sirzechs began, looking incredulous at Ravel.

"Erm, yes. The boy named Kazuto-sama in the human world..."

As he listened to her, Sirzechs looked bewildered by what was being said.

"Kazuto..."

"Kazu-chaaaaaaaaaan~" Serafall sang, happy tears in her eyes. "Kazu-chan's alive~!"

Ravel looked bewildered. "Excuse me, erm...may I ask, how do you both know Kazuto-sama?"

Sirzechs turned to Ravel, adopting a playful smile. "Kazuto, and I have had dealings in the past."

Serafall grins. "Alright, I'm off, see you later~"

Serafall eagerly ran for the door.

But Sirzechs called out to her. "Wait, Serafall."

Serafall paused, tapping her foot on the ground. "Yes? I'm gonna go and visit Kazu-chan~"

"Wait, please. Don't worry about that for now, we've got some work to do. Rias and Sona are there, so they're alright for the moment."

Serafall pouts. "But..."

"We'll be busy preparing for his return." He turns to Ravel. "Have you told anyone else about this?" She shakes her head. "That's good, because until he's got his memory back, it would be best if we kept this quiet. Augusta...so she had kept him secret this long..."

As he spoke, Serafall silently moving towards the door.

Sirzechs glanced at her, seeing her face very surprisingly stoic, as she got closer and closer to the door.

"Serafall, I can see you."

Serafall giggles awkwardly. "I'm kidding~"

Sirzechs releases a breath. "He's alive...its really good. I'm sure you'll see him soon, until then, lets work together."

Serafall didn't like it, but accepted it, and nods strongly. "Okay, I can hold off for a little bit. Lets get to work~"

Sirzechs nods, turning to Ravel. "Since we'll be busy, can I count on you for your help Ravel-san? Since you're the only other one right now that knows about this? We'll be busy here, and I'd like to communicate some stuff to the human world soon."

"Y-Yes, if you're asking me, I shall do my best Sirzechs-sama."

"Thank you."

Ravel nods, bewildered by what was going on.

Though, for a chance to head to the human world, and to see Kazuto again...she thought it would be pretty good.

Nearly two days had passed since Kazuto re-awakened the Boosted Gear, and today was the day the Fallen Angels had agreed they would leave Kuoh, though Kazuto felt as if they had something else going on, so they'd see what was truly happening soon enough.

But for right now, Kazuto decided to speak with Ddraig, and get a feel on a few burning questions in his mind.

"So, Ddraig. Can I ask you something?" Kazuto spoke aloud, as he was alone in his room.

[What is it partner?]

"Do you know anything about what happened back then?"

[I remember a good deal of it yes, though after the curse hit us, I am having trouble remembering everything. The Dragon Eaters powers are very dangerous for beings like us, my heads a bit fuzzy.]

Kazuto became rather intrigued.

"Curse huh? Yeah, Grams mentioned about it."

[Its a special curse that afflicts Dragons and those who possess Dragon type Sacred Gears such as yourself. Its amazing you managed to survive at your young age partner, you fought hard to keep us alive with your demonic powers, and you succeeded, I wasn't ready to say goodbye to you at that time, and I'm still not.]

Kazuto was astounded, yet happy at the same time. "Yeah, me too Ddraig. I can't remember everything, but I feel like we were close."

[It must've been strange hearing my voice, partner.]

Kazuto chuckled awkwardly. "You can say that again, though I'm glad you're okay now, Ddraig."

[Yes, I am. Though partner, I am sorry that you had your memories sealed, everything must've been strange.]

"Don't worry about that. Though Ddraig, I keep dreaming of a silver haired girl, have any idea on who that is?"

[Silver haired…hmmm. Yes, I know who you're talking about.]

Kazuto's face lit up. "Great! So, who is it?"

[Its our rival, partner.]

Kazuto would've been visibly stunned, if he wasn't somewhat aware of that already recalling him being called that in the dream. "How is she our rival exactly?"

[Because she houses my eternal rival, a Dragon named Albion, who resides within Divine Dividing, her Longinus. Though…something strange happened when you two came together.]

"Strange, how?"

[You, for the first time, in history, started to become closer, acquaintances, and beyond that. That girl, was also strong as a child.]

"What was her name?" Kazuto questioned further, super intrigued.

[Her name…was Vali, you and her...well, you both went through a lot during your time together, and became very close.]

When Ddraig said her name, Kazuto's mind was nearly blown.

Vali...

It was a name that brought him great happiness. "Thanks for telling me, Ddraig. Grams has been hesitant about telling me, I think she's still worried."

[Its only natural, many things happened in the past. Though partner, while I'm glad to be together again, I wish to ask you for a favour.]

Kazuto blinks at the Dragon. "Sure, what is it?"

[Then, please warn me when big breasted women go to hug you.]

Kazuto coughed at his Dragons words. "I'm sorry?"

[It used to happen a lot, I remember that big breasted women would hug you into their chests. It was…it was a time where things happened, and, I…yes, can you warn me about it?]

Kazuto wasn't entirely sure what that was about, but to give Ddraig peace of mind, he didn't mind at all.

"I'll give you heads up, so you can block it out or something, promise." Kazuto thought that's what he could offer, even though he was surprised by what was going on.

But it sounded as if Ddraig was grateful regardless.

[Thank you. Also partner, the time is going to come when you're going to have to fight, I am pleased to see you're taking measures in relearning how to fight again. Instincts can only carry you so far, and you'll have enemies come for you. The person that sealed your memory and interfered with my soul, we have to be ready for that person.]

Kazuto agreed strongly.

"Right. Also, Grams is hopeful my memories will come back if she can speak to that former apprentice of hers, might lead to a fight, so I gotta be ready."

[Indeed, and if you need anything partner, advice or information, you can ask me. Its good that we're still together, I enjoyed our time together when you were younger, we talked more than I did with my other hosts.]

Kazuto adopts a bright smile. "Thank you. I can't remember it all, but I feel happy to hear your voice. Lets do our best together, and kick some ass."

[Good partner. You are also a Dragon, so its time to show the fierceness of the Demonic Dragon.]

"Yeah, lets do it Ddraig!"

Kazuto cheered, and he heard Ddraig giving his approval.

Kazuto was glad that he was able to get to know the Dragon inside his Boosted Gear, Ddraig was turning out to be a really cool Dragon and he couldn't wait to further understand more about him.

After that, Kazuto went downstairs, and began starting breakfast, or he would have done, when he saw his grandmother swaying her fingers through the air, and was using her magic to cause the food to be cooked, seeing winds carrying the pots around among other things.

"That's never not gonna be cool." Kazuto greets.

"I have to admit, while I don't exactly want you to be in this situation, it is freeing to use my powers again." Augusta beams.

"Speaking of powers Grams, I've been learning a bit about my Devil powers, and I'd love to know more about the magic you use. Even some of your maybe forbidden techniques~"

Augusta gives amused eyes. "My forbidden spells huh?"

"Come now Grams~ I know you've got some special spells hidden up your sleeve, and you'd want to teach your favourite grandson, right~?"

Augusta's intrigued smile grew bigger. "You do have a point."

Kazuto eagerly came to the kitchen table, his eyes looking around at the different magic's being displayed. "So you'll teach me?"

Augusta snickers, and snaps her fingers.

When she does, she summons a book, and hands it over to Kazuto. "Learn these, then I'll get back to you."

Kazuto gives an endearing smile. "Thanks Grams~"

"No problem dear."

"So there are forbidden spells and such?" Kazuto questioned further.

"There sure are. Depending on the magician, they'll have natural inclinations, some can master many, some might only focus on few select magic's and be amazing in them, while lacking in other areas, it really depends on the person. I myself dedicated a lot of time of using different types of magic. And forbidden spells came along with that. There are some magic's that I even invented, which I am quite proud of~"

Kazuto sighed happily. "Come on Grams, can't leave me hanging now~"

Augusta loved to see her grandson being so excited. "Be patient my dear, good things come to those who wait~"

Kazuto snickered, and flashes his enthused smile. "Sure Grams, I'll get to reading this book."

"As long as you remember to rest dear, I know you're excited but rest is also important. You have a lot of things going on currently, with your powers, your new responsibilities, and the likes. I think its best to rest at times."

Kazuto inclines. "I'll be sure to Grams, promise."

"Good boy. Now breakfast will be done soon, so put the book away, and lets eat something good~"

Kazuto grins. "Sure, lets do it~!"

Augusta smiled strongly. "Also dear, I might be late home. I'm meeting my former apprentice later."

Kazuto nods. "You said she is unpredictable, right? Are you gonna be alright?"

"Yes, thank you for the concern my dear. That's why I'm meeting via hologram, and she will be as well. So, are you spending time with the Devils today, Kazuto?"

"Probably yeah. I've been hearing that they've told the Maou's in the Underworld thanks to that girl, Ravel-san, Gremory-senpai heard from her Onii-sama last night and told her that they're gonna keep my existence secret as long as they can until my memories return, so I'd be as ready as possible. Of course, we can't hide my existence forever, but it should be good until then, right Grams?"

"Yes, its the best outcome we could hope for. Because as soon as the Old Devils find out, I'm sure they'll want to put you in an engagement again..."

"Wait, what? To who?"

Augusta shrugged. "I don't know, they were still in the middle of looking by the time you were hurt, I heard you had a few possibilities, maybe even multiple, due to your lineage."

Kazuto slowly nods. "I see, so expect that then huh."

"I would yes. The Old Devils...those people both respected and feared your existence. Not only them, but the Church, and other factions. You're the Sekiryuutei, as well as a strong Devil from a strong clan, some wanted to capitalize on that, others wanted to erase your existence, believing you'd be too strong to control, while others wanted to control you for your power, others wanting to ally with you, for good and bad reasons, among other difficult things. They saw you as all these different potential things, but to me, I saw you as a young talented boy, who deserved to live normally. Alas, while that isn't the case, I'm happy we got to spend this time together."

"Me too, Grams."

Kazuto and Augusta continue their conversation, Kazuto understanding more and more about Augusta's feelings, and understood why she felt the way she did.

When he arrived at school that day, Kazuto was met by Rias surprisingly.

He didn't know why she wanted to meet up, but when she stood at the gate of the school, and waved towards him upon seeing him, he approached her.

"He's meeting up with Gremory-senpai?"

"No way, is he with both Yumi-chan and Gremory-senpai?"

"How cool~"

Kazuto heard the ramblings of the people around him, the students looked at him and Rias in turn.

Kazuto rolled his eyes at the sight, and then continued onwards towards Rias.

Rias adopts a small smile. "Sorry, seems like the students have gossiped about us."

Kazuto waved a hand. "Its fine, I've dealt with things like this before. Including the fact that Kiryuu tends to spread rumours about me dating various people...yeah, she's a bit odd at times."

Rias nearly did a spit take upon hearing that. "S-So, that's who started that rumour?"

Kazuto's eyes glint ever so slightly. "Heard of them, then?"

Rias adopts a coy smile. "I have heard some, you are the Prince of the school, and people have often told me that we would be a great couple."

Kazuto's lips curl ever so slightly. "Yeah, I hear that. With you, Akeno-san, Koneko-chan, Yumi-chan, whatever Kiryuu says-" Rias snorts uncontrollably at his deadpan delivery of that. "-either way, I don't let it really bother me."

Rias gives intrigued eyes. "So tell me, how's it going with your grandmother? I know she's having difficulty accepting all of this."

As she asks, the pair begin going inside of the gates together.

They traverse the school grounds, while noticing many peoples eyes being on their form, Kazuto spoke quietly to Rias regardless. "She's said that she's meeting someone today to help me, and she's told me that I could be in line for gaining something called Evil Pieces."

Rias was even more curious. "Evil Pieces? Yes, from what I've heard, I'd certainly say you'd be in line for them."

Kazuto looked intrigued. "So, these Evil Pieces, Grams told me a bit about them, like you can use them to reincarnate other beings, right?"

"Exactly." Rias pauses, seeing a bench with no one else finally around. "Lets sit here."

Kazuto agreed, and sat down next to Rias.

"From the way I've seen you handle things, you look to your peerage as your family. Peerage is the right word, correct?" Rias nods with a kind smile. "Truthfully, I could see others using them for...not so great things."

"Indeed, there are unfortunately Devils that are like that. But, from what I've seen with you, I'm sure that you'd make a good King. You've handled all this very well all things considered, it must've been a shock to the system."

Kazuto smiled lightly. "Thanks, it was yeah, but its alright, I'm glad to go on this journey, learning so much about myself, my past...learning those dreams were real, its amazing."

Rias smiled kindly. "I'm glad you feel like that. So, with Evil Pieces, you can do what you desire, people can compete in games called Rating Games, or you can simply have them be your family and live together with them peacefully."

Kazuto thought long and hard about it, and mulled it over in his mind.

"A family huh..." Kazuto mused. "So, you wanted to see me this morning, Gremory-senpai?"

"I did, I wanted to see how you're doing. This must be very overwhelming with everything going on. Devils, Angels, Sacred Gears, Boosted Gear...to be honest, I heard of your exploits as a child, so getting to meet you, its been a real joy for me."

"I'm doing alright yeah. I've been speaking to Ddraig, the Dragon in my Boosted Gear, and he's been telling me about my life, sounds pretty adventurous. Its a wild ride for sure, and thanks Senpai for checking on me. You've been really great in helping me so far."

Rias felt a flood of heat radiating in her chest as his smile grew for her. "I'm glad I've been able to help, Kazuto-kun. May I just call you Kazuto? I'd be happy if you started calling me Rias-senpai, or even Buchou if you like? I'd like if you joined the Occult Research Club."

Kazuto felt quite honoured, knowing the Occult Research Club was Rias's groups area for them to come together.

"Thank you, I'll call you Buchou then~" Rias smiles tenderly. "By the way Buchou, are there, any other Devils in the school? Like you or, maybe other peerage members of yours? Besides Gasper-san that is."

Rias gives surprised eyes. "You know Gasper?"

"Not personally, we just kinda conversed, rather we greeted one another. Though Gasper-san used a piece of paper, Yumi-chan told me that Gasper-sans quite shy."

"Gaspers my Bishop, and can be quite shy, but I'm sure you'd get along well. I've told Gasper about you, and that you're a good guy, Gasper seems happy, though still very shy as I'm sure you understand." Rias said with a pleasing smile. "Also, as for other Devils, there is another group in school. Its Sona Sitri's, you'll know her as Souna Shitori, or as Kaichou. The Student Council is the cover for her peerage. When I told her you're the Sekiryuutei, she nearly fell over, it was pretty funny~"

Kazuto hums in thought. "Aah, and I missed the super serious Kaichou doing that? Damn~"

Rias adopts a small smile. "Thank you for the talk, Kazuto. I'll see you later, I've got some stuff to prepare…"

"See ya later Senpai~" Kazuto waved, as Rias stood, and walked off with a light hearted smile.

Kazuto then stood, and headed for his class.

When it came time for lunch, Kazuto and Yumi met up with one another, and began casually eating their lunch in the Occult Research Club, since they wanted to have a private conversation while prying eyes of the other students didn't get in the way.

"So, you're a Knight, Yumi-chan?"

Yumi nods a single time. "Yes, that's right. My attribute is speed. And you're able to get them?"

"Apparently so yeah. Hmm, I wonder what I'd do with them…?" Kazuto mused, his eyes turning to Yumi fully. "Say, I don't know if this is possible, but want me to steal you from Buchou?"

Yumi's cheeks fully flush the instant he said that. "Steal me from Buchou?"

"Gotta start somewhere, Yumi-chan. I could take you from Buchou, and you could join my group~ How about it? You could be my Knight in shining armour~"

Kazuto's words caused Yumi to giggle a few times, to the point it was infectious and Kazuto also begins to laugh as well.

"It could be fun~" Yumi smiled.

"Say Yumi-chan, those Stray Devils that I've been hearing about, and met when I fought Viser, they're Devils that have gone out of peerages, right?"

"They can be yes." Yumi said, showing a bitter smile. "Not all Devils are as kind as Buchou. Some view their peerages as disposable beings for Rating Games, and some see them as nothing but pawns for them to use, or even...can be horrible to them."

Kazuto furrowed his eyebrows. "I see what you're saying, there's been thoughts like that have crossed my mind. Ever come across any Devils like that?"

"I have." Yumi said sadly. "But, I have also come across good Devils too. You said it best to Akeno-san the other day, that there are good and bad people in the world, and the same is true for Devils, while there's Buchou's of the Underworld, there's also beings that are disturbing."

"Right…" Kazuto exhaled. "But onto happier things Yumi-chan, the Fallen Angels are going to be gone tonight. So we don't have to worry about them…though, it makes me wonder if they'll really go quietly."

"We're going to make sure they do." Yumi expressed in certainty. "We haven't been able to really relax since these Fallen Angels began doing what they're doing, but we're still going out on Sunday, right Kazuto-kun?"

"Can't wait for it~" Kazuto beams at the blonde.

Yumi nods her head a single time, and shows her soft smile, she truly couldn't wait to spend time with Kazuto.

Meanwhile, Raynare was in a state of panic right now, it was her end game, she was supposed to leave the Church right now, since her two days have been up.

She kept thinking of Asia, and what was going on with her right now.

If she was going to appear, if she was going to finally be in their clutches. She couldn't help but feel as if that would be the best thing for her.

While Raynare was pacing back and forth in the abandoned Church, Kalawarner came towards her, and saw the irritation on her face, looking as if she was going through a lot, so Kalawarner exhales slowly.

"Raynare, are you alright?"

Raynare snapped her eyes upon her form. "I'd say that I am not alright, because we are supposed to leave today! And Asia, she is going to be away from our clutches! After all the time and effort we've put into this…and now we're being closely monitored by the Devils, even if she arrives, they'll know we've come for her, and kiss goodbye everything you could want in your life. We bought time, but she's running late...for the love everything...then there's the Sekiryuutei boy, and if Vali finds out...ooh Azazel-sama, I just wanted you to want me..."

Kalawarner snickers ever so slightly. "Its not over yet."

Raynare tilts her head. "What are you talking about? Did you try and seduce Kazuto? Because Vali's not going to be happy if you did!"

Kalawarner sighed. "No, I was going to say, Mittelt has just given me some interesting information."

Raynare folds her arms. "Spit it out then."

"Our benefactor is willing to grant us some help..."

Raynare's eyes light up like a thousand suns as she listened to Kalawarner.

"Help from...y-you're not kidding me right now?"

Kalawarner nods her head. "I'm telling the truth, we've been given a chance. Asia's arrival in Kuoh is imminent, so if we can do what our benefactor has told us to do, even the Gremory's would be surprised, and we could get Asia, and leave before they know anything about us."

Raynare opened up her arms, and looked delighted, her excitement growing deeply within her eyes.

"This is it Kalawarner, this is what we've been waiting for. We can do this together, we can finally get what's rightfully ours. Her precious Sacred Gear, is going to be all ours Kalawarner! Where is Mittelt?! I need to see her right now!"

"Sh-She's in the back, why do you need to see her?"

Raynare smirks. "Because I want us to move quickly! Speaking of, where is Freed? That little bastard better not ruin this for me, like Dohnaseek did...!"

Kalawarner shrugged, and walked away while Raynare was excited.

She truly couldn't help but feel like her dreams and wishes were all coming true right now.

After school that day, Kazuto walked together with Koneko, who had agreed to have a little spar with him.

Both wore their gym uniforms, Kazuto's eye caught the fact that Koneko was seemingly looking at him curiously, reminding him of when she did that before.

"So, I'm ready when you are Koneko-chan." Kazuto beams, stretching his limbs.

Koneko nods a single time, and gets into a stance. "…When you're ready Senpai."

"Great, then here we go. Thanks for letting me spar with you a bit. I've used a bit of Boosted Gear, so I want to see what I can do without first, then I'll add that and see." Kazuto said strongly.

Koneko nods. "Yes, lets see what you can do Senpai."

Kazuto pushed off the ground, and propelled himself towards Koneko.

Koneko noted his speed as she reeled her fist back, and aimed it for the incoming Kazuto.

Throwing her fist out, she watched him leap up, and it sail below him.

He got behind her, and went for the kick, but Koneko raised her arm, and blocked the strike, a small shockwave unsettled the ground around them, the grass being blown away, and left the pair in a stalemate.

"You weren't kidding Koneko-chan, you do have a good deal of strength." Kazuto praised, pulling his leg back so he stood up straight.

"You too, Senpai." Koneko raised her neck, then she jumps towards him, her fist coming in hot and heavy.

Kazuto dodges to the side, avoiding the fist, and came at her with another strong fist.

However, she was able to block it like before, using both of her arms, but even then she was forced back a few feet as she was sailing through the air when she took the blow.

Kazuto thought he'd monopolize on her airborne state, but Koneko had other ideas.

"Get smashed." Koneko slammed her fist into the ground, generating a shockwave that caused the ground to upheaval, and dust spread all around her.

"Smart, Koneko-chan." Kazuto praised her, putting his hand out towards the young girl.

He was able to read her movements, and avoid the fist, and then avoid another, and another, weaving through her attacks, while Koneko came at him with a barrage of punches and kicks.

Kazuto stomps down, the ground rupturing underneath his strength, and sent the young girl flying backwards caught in the shockwave.

"Senpai…" Koneko flips in the air, and lands on the ground.

But she became shocked when she saw that Kazuto was already on her form, his hand lit up with demonic power.

Aiming his hand for her, he went to fire it off, when Koneko dashes for him, in a bid to stop the attack from releasing, noticing the incredible aura that was spreading from his hand and running around his fist completely.

Koneko got in close, and went to throw a fist at him, Kazuto swung his hand forward, and unleashed his demonic power, both having agreed not to go all out as to not cause any injuries, merely just to spar, so he toned down the power enough to send her flying back.

Kazuto paused, watching Koneko fly back through the air, adjusting her movements, and bounces off a tree.

She came at Kazuto with a strong punch, so he in turn met hers with his own, their colliding fists generating a small shockwave between them, ripping up the ground.

As they push away, Kazuto noticed Koneko was staring at him more. "Koneko-chan, is everything alright?"

Koneko in turn tilts her head. "Senpai, are you happy with your current life now?"

Kazuto recalled her saying that to him before. "There's the good and the not so good." Kazuto said truthfully. "Koneko-chan, I think its really sweet you're worried about my well being Koneko-chan, I thank you for that."

"…When Buchou asked me to look into you, I wasn't sure because I didn't want to invade Senpai's personal life. And then you were attacked by the Fallen Angel, I didn't want anything to happen to you like that."

Kazuto shows his kindest smile. "You don't have to worry, that's alright. Though Koneko-chan, you've asked me if I'm happy with my current life, are you happy with your current life?"

Koneko nods, but then pauses, and lowers her eyes. "…I do like my current life. But, Senpai…can I tell you something?"

"Anything."

"…There is, regret I do have."

Kazuto was intrigued. "Do you mind me asking what that is?"

"I don't mind. Truthfully, I haven't even told Buchou about this." Kazuto pulls closer, as Koneko lets out a small breath. "I, was saved once, by a boy."

"A boy…" Kazuto mutters, noticing Koneko's face turning ever so slightly red.

"Yes…he saved me, and scooped me up in his arms. I remember, that he had the kindest smile, whenever I think about him, I remember his smile. He protected me, and said softly "Its okay, I'll protect you now." and he did. He gave me a chance to have a good life. I, wished I could've stayed with him more...but, then things happened...he looked after me, and made sure I'd be able to live a peaceful life with good people. He was the kindest...I wish to tell him."

"One day, I'm sure you will."

Kazuto shows a soft smile, and Koneko stares at him.

She doesn't say anything else, but her gaze lingered upon him for a good amount of time, her face slightly reddening.

Kazuto also didn't say anything, but did silently acknowledge what was being said between them.

When they wrapped up, Kazuto promised Koneko he'd get her something to eat as a thanks for the little spar they had, so they went to Kazuto's work since he was going to be going on shift pretty soon anyway.

Once getting there, Kazuto gave Koneko an order on the house, a sign of friendship between them.

Koneko watched her Senpai as he did his work casually, chatting to customers happily, and saw his smile enchantingly radiating, while Koneko sipped on her drink, eating her chocolate muffin, and enjoyed a quiet moment with her Senpai.

When Kazuto had finished his shift for the evening, Kazuto began heading home after seeing Koneko was able to get home. He thought that it would be a good Senpai thing to do to make sure she got home okay, even if she could take care of herself, and Koneko appreciated it.

On his return back to his home, Kazuto skipped a large chunk of journey by going through the park, the same park that he had fought Dohnaseek in.

When seeing the fountain having been fixed, he thought the Devils really did a good job in doing that.

"So much has happened in such a short time...can't believe its only been a short time...my worlds really changed..."

Walking by the fountain, Kazuto continued moving towards his home.

But while he did, a beat in his heart suddenly thudded in his chest like no other.

"What the…" Kazuto wondered what that sensation was.

It didn't feel bad, but it felt pretty weird.

[Partner.]

Ddraig's voice echoed in his mind.

Kazuto looked at his left hand, noticing a green glow.

Kazuto looked around, seeing he was alone, so spoke aloud. "What's up Ddraig?"

[I had a strange feeling then, did you feel it?]

"Yeah, it didn't feel like a Fallen Angel or Devil though."

[No, but it felt like something supernatural. Are you going to confront it?]

"Gonna check it out. Don't want them to get the drop on me."

[Good idea, it would be best to get the drop on them first if they're enemies, while alerting your comrades.]

"Yeah, good idea..." Kazuto takes out his phone, and sends a message to Rias, Akeno, Koneko, Yumi, and his grandmother in one sweeping message, saying to stay alert in case he found something. "Alright, I'll go and see what it is. Ready Ddraig?"

[Ready partner. Whatever it is, it doesn't feel malicious from here, but stay alert partner. People can hide who they are, this could be a time like that.]

Kazuto nods his head, and begins walking towards the area he felt this strange feeling coming from.

As Kazuto begins to exit the park, he sees on the far side of the road, a strange sight.

"Aauuuu." A sound of a cute girl falling over.

Kazuto looked fully, and saw a surprising sight.

It was a cute girl with long blonde hair, green eyes, and wearing what looked to be like a nuns outfit. He could even see the cross hanging from her neck, and though as a half Devil, he was given pause because of that, but he also didn't feel it nearly as badly as other Pure Blooded Devils would.

He could see the girl looking genuinely lost, and worried, her luggage all around her.

People walked by her, as she spoke to them, but they didn't respond back.

"At least if they can't understand her, they could help her with her stuff." Kazuto complains at the peoples attitudes just passing this girl by.

[You know about how Devils can Communicate with others like that, did you?]

"I was told about it yeah, Buchou clued me in." Kazuto looked over the girl, seeing her looking around with a little worry on her face, his heart went out to her since she was clearly in a foreign land, and didn't know what was going on. "Unless I'm way off, I'm not seeing a threat here, are you Ddraig?"

[I don't believe so partner.]

"Then I'll go over. She might be a nun…but, she needs help, in a Devils town seems strange for a nun, its making me recall what the Fallen Angels said in our meeting...lets see what's going on..." Kazuto picked up his phone, seeing some messages back from his comrades asking if he was okay, so Kazuto replies that he found a nun, and didn't think she was dangerous, and he was alright so far.

Kazuto then approached her, as she picked up her things.

Getting to her side, Kazuto bent down, and begins picking up her items.

The girls eyes met his, and he adopts a bright smile. "Hey, sorry about those people just walking by."

The girl adopts a huge innocent smile. "You can understand me~?"

Kazuto chuckled lightly. "Yeah, I can understand you loud and clear~ My name is Kazuto, nice to meet you."

The girl smiles adoringly, and brushes her outfit. "My name is Asia Argento, please call me Asia, thank you for helping me Kazuto-san~"

Kazuto shakes his head. "Not a problem Asia-san."

Asia shows her delectable smile. "Are you, a student?"

Kazuto looked at his school clothes, and lightly laughed. "Yeah, that's right. I'm surprised to see a nun in a town like this, not everyday a town like this gets Church people~"

Kazuto tried to play it casual, so she'd feel at ease, as he didn't sense maliciousness from her even a little bit.

But knew it was highly suspicious that a nun would be in a Devils town.

"I was invited to come here."

"Invited...?" Kazuto had a sinking feeling he knew what was going on.

"Yes, that's right. I was asked to come here, but so far, I haven't been greeted by anyone, they were going to meet me as I came into town, but no one showed up, and I've been in a bind since no one understands me. I'm really sorry, but do you know where the Church in this town is?"

It just confirmed Kazuto's suspicions on what was going on. "I do."

"Thank goodness, I thought I'd always be lost. Could you take me please?" Hearing her sweet voice, Kazuto felt for her, it seemed she was innocent in all of this, so he knew he'd have to get involved so the Fallen Angels didn't get to her.

Kazuto went to speak, but then, something happened.

Kazuto felt a presence fast approaching, he thought at first it was the Fallen Angels, as that's what he had imagined considering what they had done beforehand.

But no, it wasn't them.

"Kazuto-san? Is everything okay?" Asia called, not sure what was going on since Kazuto remained silent.

Kazuto went to answer, when he saw something beginning to appear out of the shadows.

He also noticed that some kind of barrier had formed around them on the city street, there was no cars running by anymore, there were no more people walking along the streets either, it was evident they were alone.

He saw a boy with white hair and wearing priest clothing coming towards Asia.

"Aah, Asia-chan, I've found you~"

Kazuto felt from his wicked looking smile, something strange was going on.

Asia turned and looked to Freed.

"D-Do I know you?"

"Not yet, but I've been sent to come and get you~ So gonna come with me Asia-chan?"

Kazuto furrowed his brows, watching Asia looking a little curiously at Freed as if she was trying to recall his face or something.

But then Freed paled, when he got a good look at Kazuto close by, his eyes widening with anger, and worry. "What are you doing here!?"

Kazuto stared at the Exorcist, and scowled. "Yumi-chan told me of a white haired Exorcist causing her problems, working with the Fallen Angels. I take it that its you, isn't it?"

Freed swung his hands around, pulling out a light blade. "Ding, ding, ding, we have a winner. And the prize for you is a trip to the morgue! Even if you are scary, I have good skills to defeat you! It wont be like then!"

Freed whipped out a gun, and aimed for Kazuto.

Asia gasped, internal worry coming for Kazuto.

But when Freed fired the bullet, his eye was able to track it very well, it moved at a similar speed to Dohnaseek's spear, but unlike when he first awakened his powers, he was becoming more accustomed to his power, and the rapid way his body could move, so he managed to dodge out of the way faster than Freed could see.

Freed was shocked, seeing the smoking hole that was on the ground where the light bullet pierced.

"What the hell Devil boy?! Dodging me like that, you are still a monster aren't you?!"

"By the way you're talking, I'm assuming we've met before." As he said it, his hand ignited in demonic power, swirling around his palm. "But I can make this the last meeting between us if you want!"

Freed snarled, his blade of light being shown on display. "Don't think you can beat me because you can summon power. I'm a cut above the rest of the trash you've been fighting."

Kazuto shrugged. "Even if you are, you're trying to endanger this innocent girl. So, you want her, you're going to have to come through me first."

When he said it, Asia's eyes shift towards him, and noticed an aura flowing around his body.

It was thick and intense, yet calm and soothing at the same time, like a warm blanket that was surrounding her being.

"That can be arranged!"

Freed yelled, and rushed Kazuto.

Faster than Asia could see him, he crossed the distance, and came at Kazuto.

But thanks to his training and now getting a better handle on his newfound power, he was able to see the blade coming in.

So Kazuto dodged out of the way, and sails above him with a leap.

Freed blinks, looking around, then feels Kazuto behind him.

He turns with a swing of his blade, but Kazuto able to stop Freed's sword slashing him when Kazuto simply raises his arm, demonic power forming a shield, the light sword unable to move it at all.

"What the...you're not using Boosted Gear..."

"Observant." Kazuto pushed Freed back, and sends a powerful fist to Freed's gut. "Enjoy this."

Freed tried to defend with his sword, but his demonic enhanced fist ripped right through the sword of light, and carried on.

"Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh!" Freed screaming angrily as he felt the blow to his body, his body shaking incredibly as he was jettisoned across the street, smashing through the ground, dragging his face across the gravel, blood beginning to leak out of the intense wounds that appeared on his face, upper body and legs.

Accompanied that, Freed felt like Kazuto's fist had shattered a few ribs in his chest, and he could feel the power of demonic energy twisting in his body, he writhed on the ground in pain.

Kazuto looked at his fist, and then towards Freed, seeing him coughing up a bit of blood, heavy wounds on his upper body.

"I have questions for you." Kazuto scowled.

Freed pants hard, dragging his feet up, and he pulled himself to his feet, while holding his side.

Kazuto flared his power, and Freed felt the aura becoming rather strong, twisting and ebbing like water all around him, dragging up the ground and threatening to swallow him whole.

Freed looking at him with worry, something he usually didn't show.

"You're still a monster, like Vali...but, I wont lose to you!" Freed flung his hand out as he coughed up blood, his vision beginning to blur.

The next moment, Kazuto saw many Exorcists beginning to come out of the shadows, as if they were waiting for the ultimate fight.

Kazuto looked towards Asia, seeing the worry in her eyes, so he approached her.

"Asia-san...I don't have time to explain, but I'm a Devil and a human, its hard to explain quickly, so I want to ask you if you could keep back? I'm not asking you to blindly trust me, but I want to keep you safe from that guy, and his friends. They're with the Fallen Angels, and it looks like they'd harm you, so could you stay back for me?"

Asia looked into his eyes, seeing his genuineness on display.

"Yes, I will." Asia comes to his side, while Kazuto stands before her to protect her.

"Get him!" Freed yelled while looking sick, and the Exorcists followed through.

Kazuto watched them coming with their swords and guns, so he flexed his aura, watching the ground erupt into different chunks, the shockwaves alone sending the enemies flying back.

"Fire!"

"Shoot him down!"

The bullets of light that came for him weren't able to get through his demonic aura, so he swung his hands out, and unleashed a torrent of power right for the incoming Exorcists.

Freed looked surprised when he saw Kazuto's power blasting through the Exorcists, his energies swirling faster, erasing the Exorcists without them having the ability to fight back.

"What is he?!"

"Its the Sekiryuutei boy!"

"Its Vali's rival!

"Its Vali's partner!"

"G-Get away!"

Kazuto, to Freed's bewilderment, was able to use his demonic power in a blinding blazing glory, completely erasing them all.

When Kazuto finished, he looked to the flabbergasted Freed, who in turn begins to pull away quicker, and quicker, crawling across the ground.

"G-Get back!" Freed fired off bullets for him.

"As I said, got some questions for you, and I'd really appreciate the answers." Kazuto thrust his hand forward, shooting off a blast of demonic power which ripped the gun in half as well as erasing all the bullets he fired at Kazuto.

"You bastard!" Freed screamed angrily.

"How rude." Kazuto retorts.

Freed panicked.

He didn't think that a Kazuto without memory would beat him like this.

He hated it, he cursed Kazuto's existence, as he bled...

But then salvation came to him, when Kazuto saw something in the sky.

Magical circles.

Many circles high in the air, and had a number of elements spiraling out of the magical circles.

Kazuto blinks in surprise.

[Partner, be careful. This power is in a different league than the others you've fought.]

As Ddraig said it, Kazuto stuck his hand in the air, and formed the Boosted Gear around his wrist, the new enemies aura feeling way above anything else in the town.

When heard [Boost!] erupting from his Sacred Gear, washing over him a wave of new power, increasing all of his abilities.

"To think you're alive in this day and age." Kazuto heard a boastful voice. "Its a good thing though, because I always hated you and the Hakuryuukou, you little half breeds."

Kazuto blinks. "Hakuryuukou..."

The voice cackles like a deranged person, he couldn't even tell if this was a man or a woman by how distorted the voice was. "Now that you're here, why don't you vanish!"

Kazuto leaps back, seeing Asia was also going to be caught up in the bombardment of magical attacks.

So he thrusts his hands out, once making sure Asia was close to him.

Channeling his powers through it, Kazuto's energies swirled and formed a massive wall.

That's when he saw the large auras coming down like a meteor, and Asia gasped in worry.

"Kazuto-san..."

"Its alright, stay behind me..." Kazuto grits his teeth, as auras slam against the giant wall of demonic aura.

Kazuto felt the push of power against his own, seeing the aura trying to get through his barrier.

[Boost!] When another ten seconds went by, he felt another wave of power flood his system, and it brought him to an even greater level of power.

With that power, Kazuto saw a chance, so he floods his barrier with all of the power.

Managing to stop the storm of auras reaching them, Kazuto knew the power was beyond the others he had fought.

"Not bad, Sekiryuutei boy. I'm both angry and happy to see this power...so have this!" Raising their hand, Kazuto saw an explosive aura firing at them.

Asia thought she'd be caught up in it, but Kazuto shields her from it with his body and arms, the young girl surprised at such a sight, as the demonic wall of aura stayed ready to protect them as an explosion was generated.

Kazuto managed to protect them both, but as he did, he saw them vanishing in a magic circle.

Kazuto sighed, wondering who it was that had just stopped him.

As they left, Kazuto looked towards his arm.

"Looks like we stopped them, Ddraig."

[Not bad at all, partner. That enemy we faced was someone that would cause trouble for sure. Definitely wielding strong levels of power, though they were masking their presence, and voice, it must be someone you and I would potentially recognize otherwise there would be no need for it.]

"Yeah, that makes a lot of sense...Very strong...so, why did they take Freed do you think?"

[I don't know partner, but it seems that this Freed was either important to them, or they came here to see you, and took the opportunity to snatch him up. It seems that they know of you as well. But, its good you held the power back, we'll be prepared for when they appear next time.]

Kazuto nods seriously, glad that for now, this person was gone.

"Right...either way, managed to stop them from hurting Asia-san..." He looked back to Asia, seeing her staring at him in awe, so he offered a small smile in return, filling the nun with relief.

[For now, you've got the nun to deal with. She knows of your Half Devil status. What shall you do?]

Kazuto looked back to Asia, and expected her to be frightened.

But no, she looked more grateful than anything else.

"I'll have to be honest with her, she's in danger, and she seems innocent, I wont let these people do as they please." He de-summons his Boosted Gear, approaching the young girl, seeing the barrier around them breaking apart into nothingness. "Are you alright Asia-san?"

Asia looks over him, her mind flashing to what she just witnessed.

He was a Devil, that she knew for sure.

He also had a Sacred Gear, a strong one at that.

And on top of that, he protected her from the mysterious figure, and Freed.

Asia couldn't imagine she would see such things in her life since she lived a sheltered upbringing from the world around her.

But she was glad that Kazuto had protected her, and she offers a small smile.

"Thank you for protecting me. I'm okay thanks to you, Kazuto-san."

Kazuto looked relieved, he didn't see any fear in her, despite her knowing he was part Devil.

But now, he had to find out what was going on with this nun, and wondered who it was that attacked...

Meanwhile, Augusta had gone to meet someone that she didn't think she'd see again.

It was her old apprentice, a young woman wearing gothic lolita clothing.

Her long ribbons sway in the hologram, facing one another with both having a stare off.

"Master-sama, you really did want to talk with me? Its been a while."

"Yes, I need to borrow your Longinus, Walburga."

Walburga adopts a smirk. "Borrow? Why would I let you do that? Want it back do you?"

Augusta clicked her tongue. "Incinerate Anthem can also be used to unseal seals, so I ask of you to lend me that power."

"You know, the little Ice Princess, and Hakuryuukou always believed he lived, and it seems they were right. I was shocked when I found out, he truly is a scary one isn't he? Surviving Samael's curse, and so young too~"

"Yes, he did well to live. Now listen, your Longinus, I am asking you to allow me to use it to unseal his memories."

Walburga's grin turns sinister. "For the Sekiryuutei is it? I was told he was alive before you told me."

Augusta narrowed her brows. "Who told you that?"

Walburga swayed her hand side to side, a scary gleeful grin on her face. "That doesn't matter, what does is that your precious Devil grandson is alive, and well, such power he has huh? I wonder what would happen if we were to meet...what would happen if he bathed in my holy flames? Would you despair if he burned?"

Augusta didn't appreciate the threat. "Choose your words wisely, threats against my grandson shall not be tolerated."

Walburga's grin turned sadistic. "Don't worry Master-sama, I'm sure we'll be seeing one another real soon. You're looking like you've aged, I wonder how strong you are now? And the Sekiryuutei...he's really going to have quite the time, so rejoice, Master-sama...I'll see you real soon."

With that, Walburga was gone, and Augusta was left feeling anger and bitter about what had happened.

She felt worry for her grandson, but hearing Walburga's words, she felt new determination rise within her, so she was going to make sure she and Kazuto were ready to face her, whatever she had planned...

So this chapter focused on Kazuto speaking with a few more people, such as finding a bit more about his relationship with Koneko through her vague words, Rias and Kazuto speaking of Evil Pieces, while the Fallen Angels are gunning for Asia, but unfortunately for them, Asia and Kazuto met up, saving her from Freed who in turn was saved by a strong mysterious power, while Augusta and Walburga meet once more, but Walburga showed her more menacing side and has her own agenda, so we'll see how that goes~
