It was supposed to be a simple 'bring your parent(s) to school day'. It should not have caused this to happen. How were the staff and students supposed to know that Midoriya Izuku, the worthless kid whose father skipped out on him, would show up and not only be successful but never leave his family, but had died fighting for their lives?
'This doesn't make sense,' Bakugou thinks. 'Why would the nerd lie to me?' As he looks back on Deku's past conversations the blonde had with him, he realizes that it was he and the other students and staff that came up with the idea of the nerds' father running out on him and his mother because of his quirklessness.
That wasn't all, though. The nerd brought his mother and documentary films made in honour of his father and her husband.
They told them the man they were talking about was Tony Stark, a hero who lived and died to protect America and the universe, and that they would watch the films as Deku's presentation.
Bakugou hadn't been the only one to roll their eyes, but when he went to address the teacher to get him to stop this nonsense he realized he was looking interested. Maybe he wanted to see what he could call bullshit, or perhaps he had heard of the man they mentioned.
Understandably, the students had forgotten what happened ten years ago, but their teacher had not. That is why he wanted to watch these films. He had believed the legend of Tony Stark, Iron Man was a myth. A man with so much intelligence that he could overcome his lack of quirk and become a hero. It sounded like a quirkless kid's wishful thinking, but if it was true? It would explain his students' belief he could be a hero without a quirk, that's for sure.
Leaning forward onto his desk, he thinks. He stands facing the mother and son duo. "I will get the projector and let the principal know we won't be doing any classes for a few days. I'll have to change a few smaller subjects into self-studies but they're easy enough to be possible."
The two look like they'd cry knowing they could show and prove their story, and the teacher feels bad for allowing the bullying to go this far. To the point where his student thought he'd disregard everything he and his mother said simply because he was quirkless. He realizes that was what he had done for so long, so he can't blame Midoriya for believing that.
He never met Mrs. Midoriya before, but it seemed her son was much like her.
When he returned with the projector, the rest of the class did not look enthusiastic about what they were about to do. That was too bad because he agreed and no amount of pops from Bakugou's hands would scare him into stopping the films.
