Chapter 49

—You already felt the desperation of losing something important, Ed…. Are you willing to feel it again? —

Vilkas to Edzard after resting Kodlak's soul

Edzard decapitated two enemies with his axes at the same time. The blood that spurted from his severed heads lightly stained the clothes he fought in. However, despite that, he was not affected, at least in a visible way and not for now. Looking back at the battlefield, he could see how his companions managed to defeat their respective enemies and began to quickly approach his chains to deactivate the black anchor.

'It looks like everything is going well.' Edzard thought as he turned his gaze back to the new enemies that kept appearing. 'Only vampires created with earthlings… I really expected something more from your first big move, Bal.'

Thinking that, Edzard charged towards the vampires. Arriving at where they were, he quickly used the spell «Stendarr's Aura» and then proceeded to cut down all the enemies that appeared in his vision range. Right, left, up, down, his axes swung in every direction, maiming, decapitating, and killing every vampire who didn't die from the power of the spell that surrounded him.

Many dismembered bodies lay all over the place, filling the air with the putrid smell of their blood and beginning to cause a bit of discomfort to several of the Youkai who possessed the enhanced senses.

'This is about to end.' Edzard thought as he saw his friends and lovers approaching the place where the chains impacted. However, when he finished thinking that a large blue ray descended from the anchor portal and hit a few meters from his position.

The impact generated a large explosion while the ground began to shake for a few seconds. The explosion caused some smoke to form around the impact crater, making it difficult to see what had happened. However, that was not the only thing that happened, as a strong draft followed the impact.

The force of this air current was such that Edzard had to use a bit of force to stay steady in the place where he was stepping, to avoid being blown away. Around him several Youkai had no such luck and went flying, ending up several meters from where they were before.

'What has fallen here?' Edzard thought worriedly once the drafts had stopped, but then he had to put a hand to his nose, as he caught a very foul scent. 'Shit, it stinks of decaying meat.'

The scent that began to fill the air made Edzard gag, but he stopped covering his nose as a mighty roar originated from the crater ahead.

"ROAARRRRRRR!"

The roar was accompanied by the fall of several more lightning bolts, which ended up impacting in the vicinity of where the chains that kept the anchor stuck to the Youkai territory were.

Edzard began to see that he had fallen in those places and his eyes widened when he saw several Xivkyn appear, but his eyes widened even more when he saw how there were not only those types of daedras, but also a fucking Daedric Titan.

'This has already become extremely complicated.' Edzard thought with great concern, because from the knowledge he had obtained from the many books he had read, he knew that the Daedric Titans were very powerful. However, before he could say anything to all the groups heading towards those places, he had to jump to the side to avoid being killed by a claw.

'What the fuck? That was very close.' Edzard thought as he felt something warm run down his forehead. Sniffing a little, his nose caught a peculiar smell of iron, a smell that indicated that what was running down his forehead was a little blood.

"Looks like the fame of your reaction speed wasn't just lip service, Dovahkiin." Said a guttural voice, which emanated from the crater.

The voice caught Edzard's attention, and he looked towards the crater and saw a Daedric Titan coming out of it. The titan's steps were firm, but slow. However, that was not what caught Edzard's attention, but his presence, because his aura was not like that of a regular Daedra, no, it was a bit like the aura that Hermaeus Mora emitted when he manifested in Nirm.

What kind of daedra is that? Edzard thought as he tightened his grip on his axes and prepared to fight.

"Ha, ha, ha!" The Daedric Titan gave a guttural laugh. "Do you really think that a dragon like you, who possesses a soul that is incomplete, can defeat me?!"

Edzard frowned at the Daedric Titan's words, as he didn't know what the Daedra meant when he mentioned that his soul was incomplete.

"Oh…. You didn't know." Said the Titan mockingly. "Although that doesn't matter anymore, because today... you will die!"

After that cry, the Titan moved its wings and launched himself at Edzard.

Edzard's eyes widened, as the daedra's speed was very high, something he didn't expect from a being of his size. Seeing that speed, he had to roll on the ground to avoid being impaled by the daedra's claws. When he sensed that the attack had passed, he leapt towards the titan and swinging his axes, he began to attack, but to no avail, as his axes failed to pierce the daedra's thick hide.

"Tch." Edzard clucked in annoyance when he saw that his axes did not inflict any damage on the daedra.

The titan moved his wings after seeing Edzard's attack miss, thus generating air currents, which were so strong that they made Edzard fly several meters. Fortunately, the young dragon managed to stabilize himself in the air and landed on his feet but ended up skidding several meters. After that, he stood up and began to move from right to left to dodge his enemy's attacks, which appeared in front of him and began to attack him at high speed.

The sound of battle seemed half song and half hissing of agony as Edzard, and the Daedric Titan engaged in a deadly dance. The titan's attacks were deflected by Edzard's axes, while the axes failed to pierce the daedra's skin. However, no matter how strong a weapon is, deflecting the impacts of such strong attacks, which were capable of denting Tamriel's steel, ended up causing cracks that were not possible to perceive with the eye. While Edzard might have noticed them, his total concentration on the battle prevented him from seeing them. However, his concentration on the battle was interrupted when he heard the thu'um of his daughter.

That slip of his senses and his attention made him not realize what would happen in moments, because as soon as he looked away from the battle, he had to return to it when he realized that a claw was going to impale him. So, to avoid dying, Edzard used his axes to deflect the attack.

Crack!

Edzard's axes shattered into hundreds of pieces the instant they collided with the Daedra's claws. This ended up leaving him unprotected against the next attack, which was not long in coming. Seeing that he couldn't evade it, Edzard covered his chest with both arms, receiving a powerful blow, which ended up sending him flying against the barrier of Yasaka's palace. The speed at which he was traveling was such that he seemed like a supersonic rocket. That speed made him traverse the entire battlefield in less than three seconds.

"Aghh." Edzard spat as he hit the barrier, causing the barrier to shake, but fortunately the barrier was not destroyed, as it managed to withstand the impact very well. However, before he could react, he received another powerful blow to the chest. This blow had been delivered by the daedra, which had moved at high speed to attack him. However, even though the blow was painful, it was the immediate aftermath that caused Edzard to worry, as the daedra's claw had been imbued with chaotic magic, which ended up destroying the barrier protecting the palace as if it was paper.

Azazel and Yasaka were fighting side by side, killing the daedras that had started to appear after all those lightning strikes. In addition, since that roar was heard, Daedras had not stopped appearing, some were flying and others were Dremoras, which began to fight against the two leaders.

"Invaders from another world! Burn in my flames!" Yasaka yelled as she unleashed a large torrent of flames at several Dremoras, all of which were taken by surprise due to the speed of the Kyubi's attack.

Azazel raised his right hand, creating several spears of light, which he hurled towards the Dremoras that were attacking them from the ground.

Both attacks were effective the moment they hit their enemies, as they managed to banish them back to Oblivion.

"It seems it's over." Yasaka said as she watched their enemies vanish.

"So, it seems." Azazel commented as he approached the Youkai leader. Seeing the voluptuous Kyubi, Azazel tried to flirt a bit, as if to pass the time, but whatever he was about to say vanished when Marie's thu'um was heard. Both leaders turned their heads towards the palace and were shocked to see the destruction of a part of the palace. That scene panicked Yasaka, who began to worry about her daughter and her friend. However, when she was about to head there to check on the two girls, she watched in horror as Edzard flew past at supersonic speed towards the palace.

"A-A-Azazel-dono…. T-t-that was…?" Yasaka asked between stutters from the shock she felt seeing Edzard end up hitting the barrier.

"Y-yes, that was Ed." Azazel answered in the same state of shock as Yasaka since he didn't expect this to happen.

However, their shock faded when they saw a large, winged Daedra that looked like a dragon appear in front of Edzard and deliver a powerful blow to his chest, destroying the barrier with that blow.

"Azazel-Dono!" Yasaka yelled, panicking not only from seeing Edzard being hit with such a powerful attack, but also from the fear that the destruction of the barrier caused her, for it took away a protection from those inside the barrier.

"Yes, let's go." Azazel said as he understood that Yasaka wanted to go check on her daughter's condition, while she also wanted to help Edzard.

Both leaders prepared to go towards the palace, but they didn't even take three steps until they had to stop abruptly, as two blue bolts hit near where they were, raising a little dust. When said dust settled, two figures could be seen, both of which were unknown to Yasaka, but very familiar to Azazel.

"Shit. This has become enormously complicated." Azazel said as he unconsciously brought his right hand to where the prosthesis of his left arm began.

The Kyoto Kyubi looked at Azazel and was confused the Fallen leader was speaking, for there was neither a hint of amusement nor mockery, but pure concern along with a hint of fear.

"Do you know who they are, Azazel-dono?" Yasaka asked as she prepared to fight and quickly defeat both enemies so he could go to the palace to see how everyone was there.

"Yes… they are two very troublesome beings that we have come across during all the attacks in which Molag Bal has been involved." Azazel replied as his gaze rested solely on Roland. "They are the two Champions of Molag Bal."

Azazel's response made Yasaka gasp and unconsciously take a step back, remembering that Edzard had mentioned the Champions as very powerful and annoying beings to deal with. However, despite being surprised to learn that two champions were in front of her, it was what she saw after taking a closer look at both of her features that ended up astonishing her. She saw something incredible and that is that they both looked something like Edzard, but not only that, but they also smelled something like him.

"Azazel-dono, why do those two champions look a bit like Edzard-dono?" Yasaka asked, narrowing her eyes.

Azazel looked at Yasaka and seeing that she had asked about something that only a few people outside of Edzard's group knew about, he only managed to let out a sigh.

"Looks like you figured it out." Azazel replied, drawing Yasaka's attention. "They are Edzard's parents."

Azazel's answer astonished Yasaka beyond being able to, who only took a step back. That information was given to Azazel by Edzard himself, but not only him, Sirzechs, Michael and Odin also knew it. This had been done by Edzard as a show of trust towards them.

"I don't know much about what happened to them, but they are being controlled by a poison for which the only known cure is death." Azazel commented, making Yasaka even more surprised, as well as saddened, because she understood that it must not be easy for Edzard to know that his parents were being controlled and that they should be killed.

Knowing that they were being controlled made Yasaka wonder if she would have ended up in that same state if not for Edzard's help. Despite the doubt she felt at the time, the Kyoto leader would ask Edzard that after this battle. So, now she would focus on the fight.

"Be careful, Yasaka-dono." Azazel said as he took out the spear that was his artificial sacred gear and used the golden armor that was its balance breaker. "They are as strong as an Ultimate-Class Devil and the abilities they have as Nirmnians make them more dangerous than devils."

Yasaka nodded and prepared to fight what is the biggest battle she has had so far. 'Hold on Kunou, mom will be coming to help you soon.'

Sparks flew as Asia dueled against a Xivkyn. She was a little annoyed by what had happened. And it is that she and Tiamat had been so close to reaching the place where the chain was that they had to eliminate, but just when they were preparing to eliminate it, two rays fell and two Daedras appeared, these were a Xivkyn and a Daedric Titan. Seeing these enemies, Tiamat quickly charged at the Titan, for she had wanted to face a dragon of Nirm for a long time, and though the Titans were only pale imitations of Akatosh's children, they would serve as her warm-up.

While she fought the Xivkyn, which had a Daedric greatsword, in the sky, Tiamat fought the Daedric Titan. To more comfortably fight the daedra, the dragoness had reverted to her dragon form, leaving behind the humanoid form of herself. The attacks that both gave each other were so strong that they generated air currents with each blow. These currents made Asia's combat on the ground more difficult, as she had to keep her focus not only on the battle against the daedra, but also on the rising air currents, as these could throw her off balance and leave her unprotected.

'This is tiring. No matter how strong I am, I'm not Ed. And my sword doesn't have the same weight as a greatsword. I can't use that to my advantage. Also, the full armor that high level Daedras wear makes them very hard to kill unless you can hit vulnerable spots. Those places are the joints.' Asia thought as she used her sword to deflect a diagonal strike from the daedra. The force of the blow, which was deflected, allowed Asia to see an opening, so she, flicking her wrist, used her sword like a rapier and delivered a swift strike.

The blade of Anseichim managed to pierce the vulnerable part of the armor, which was the joint between the breastplate and the shoulder pad.

"Arghh!" The daedra growled as he received the cut, but then, he swung his weapon and tried to kill Asia with a single blow, but he was unsuccessful, as Asia moved her left hand and quickly released a powerful lightning bolt, which made the daedra back.

'That was stupid of me. The Xivkyn are very resistant to pain.' Asia thought as she began to think about what to do to defeat this enemy. However, as she thought, she heard a thu'um resound throughout the battlefield. Her eyes widened when she heard her tone of voice, it didn't sound like Edzard's voice, no, that was her little girl's voice. Fear and panic began to take over her being, and these emotions increased in intensity as she turned her head and saw how the palace entrance had disappeared.

"Marie!" Asia yelled as she prepared to sprint towards the palace to check on her daughter, but she didn't take three steps as she was forced to jump back to avoid being killed by the daedra. How? How dare that daedra interrupt her when she was trying to see the state her daughter was in? Tightening her grip on her sword, Asia yelled. "Balance Breaker!"

Asia's body was enveloped by a white light, which temporarily blinded the daedra and when he looked again, the first thing he saw was Asia in her armor and her sword a few centimeters from his head. Seeing that imminent attack, the daedra tried to dodge it, but that was partially in vain, as Asia's sword managed to cut his right eye, blinding him permanently until his body returns to Oblivion to reform.

Despite feeling pain that could have caused a human to flinch and be unable to fight normally, the Xivkyn was not a human, but a daedra, so it quickly charged back and began attacking Asia. However, unlike before, Asia was now able to easily parry the Xivkyn's attacks, forcing the battle to her side.

While Asia was fighting the Xivkyn, Tiamat was fighting the Daedric Titan in the sky. Both beings attacked each other with their claws, while they tried to use their jaws to tear each other apart.

"Ha, ha, ha!" she began to laugh Tiamat feeling a little emotion in this battle. She hadn't had such an exciting battle in a long time. However, upon hearing Asia call out the name of her daughter, the dragon decided to put an end to the battle quickly, as she had to check the status of her boss's offspring. So, she, opening her jaws, she released a powerful dragon breath at the Daedric titan.

Tiamat's enormous blue flames advanced rapidly and threatened to kill the daedra, but instead of panicking, he simply opened his jaws and unleashed a great blaze of blue fire, which impacted against Tiamat's breath, causing a great explosion. This explosion in turn generated huge wind waves, which were felt all over the place.

When the explosion subsided, Tiamat watched in amazement as the daedra lunged at her. The speed at which the titan was going managed to take her by surprise, so he was able to inflict a superficial wound on her chest. However, it was not the superficial wound that caused Tiamat concern, for apart from that, she also felt how part of her power was being lost, or rather, how part of her power was being stolen.

'This feeling… It's similar to the way Albion steals power from his enemies!' thought Tiamat with amazement and panic, for the way she lost power was similar to how Albion used to divide the power of his enemies, clear that the scale of the amount of power stolen was not similar. Although the scale of power stolen was different, she understood the danger of these types of attacks.

'This has gotten more complicated. Looks like I'll have to get serious for this.' Tiamat thought as she began to use more of her power.

Aika, Rossweisse, and Valerie were fighting with everything they had to hold off several Daedras, which began to appear simultaneously.

"Take this!" Aika yelled as she threw several fire lances at some Frost Atronach, which were easily banished, but the young magician had to summon her spear-staff to use the sharp part to deflect the attack of a Xivkyn, who was using a sword and a shield.

"How did we end up like this?!" Valerie yelled as she acrobatically dodged the attack of two Xivilai, both of which were armed with two axes. The Dhampir skidded between them when they attacked her horizontally with their axes. When she was between them, she quickly created two spears of darkness, which were thrown at her enemies. Both weapons quickly traveled towards the two daedra, who managed to block the attacks with their respective axes.

While Edzard's two lovers fought on the ground, Rossweisse fought in the sky, dodging attacks from Winged Twilights. These were daedras that had the humanoid appearance of beautiful women, but had leathery wings instead of arms, as well as bird talons instead of feet, and a pointed tail. Its skin color was blue-gray, and it was in the shape of scales. Their eyes were blue, in some cases, as there were also some with red eyes.

"HA!" Rossweisse yelled as she cast several ice spells with the sole purpose of eliminating the winged daedras that were chasing her.

The Valkyrie's magical attacks surged forward and hit a few Daedras, banishing them to Oblivion, but those that managed to escape the attack unscathed began to launch at Rossweisse, who had to start flying faster, but it was not so fast and the daedras managed to reach it. after this, they had dived at her, dealing blows with her claws, which managed to crack her armor a little.

Rossweisse protected herself by positioning her arms in X and began to wait for the right moment to counterattack, which came when all the Winged Twilights rushed in a group against her. Seeing them arrive, Rossweisse summoned a magic circle at her feet and created an explosion of lightning bolts, which impacted some of the daedras, banishing them, but there were some that managed to attack Rossweisse back, who had to start flying in circles, while starting to attack them with magic.

As the air battle raged on, Valerie continued to dodge the Xivilai's attacks, but when she saw a good enough opening, she gathered darkness on her legs and leapt up, delivering a vertical ax kick, which was parried by one of the daedras. However, that was part of the crazy plan that the Dhampir had come up with, who, seeing how the other daedra began to try to attack her, turned into a flock of bats and reformed behind the daedra's back. Having her enemy defenseless from her, Valerie kicked her so hard that the daedra flew away, taking his mate along with him. Both daedras followed a straight line until they finally ended up crashing into various pieces of debris.

Valerie put a smile on her face as she watched those daedras crash into the rubble. However, said smile disappeared when she heard the thu'um that echoed across the battlefield.

"Was that a thu'um?" asked the Dhampir, losing sight of her enemies for an instant.

Aika, who was fighting the Xivkyn, which made a move that forced the magician to jump to get away, was the one who responded.

"It seems so, but that didn't sound like Ed's voice." Aika answered as she continued to focus on her enemy, because if she was careless, she would end up dead.

In the sky, Rossweisse looked towards the palace and once she saw what was happening, she quickly communicated what was happening to her companions by means of a magic circle. The girls responded quickly, and they all came to the same decision…they had to get this over with quickly to see what happened there.

Lint, Mittelt and Ingvild were having the easiest battle out of all the members of Edzard's group, as they were not fighting a Xivkyn, but were fighting a whole swarm of Winged Twilights, which were surrounding them in such a way that they were forced to use their attacks in a way that allowed them to maintain a large enough space or width of battle to be able to fight calmly.

"Dammit, those things keep popping up everywhere!" Mittelt yelled as she hurled several spears of light to kill as many Daedra as she could.

"We have to hurry!" Lint yelled as she hurled spears of light while she fired light bullets at the daedras, thereby causing more casualties.

Ingvild, for her part, was using her magic to create a water bubble which she used both defensively and offensively. The offensive part was that the water bubble allowed her to create spikes of water to kill daedras that approached recklessly.

"In, let us into your bubble for a while!" Mittelt yelled as she used a sword made of light to cut a wing off a Winged Twilight, which failed to fall to the ground, as a well-aimed bullet of light hit her in the eye, banishing her to Oblivion.

"Alright!" Ingvild yelled as she opened an opening in her bubble. "Hurry up!"

The two angels nodded and quickly entered the bubble. Once they were inside, they took a breather while Ingvild began to use more demonic power to expand her bubble and gain more territory.

"We have to hurry, girls." Said Ingvild as she thought about how to break the siege that the daedras had formed around they.

"Yes, we have to go help the rest of those who are fighting, especially the ORC and the Student Council." Lint opined as she watched her fellow Academy members fight as best, they could against the Xivkyn that appeared in front of them.

"Not only that, but we also must go see what happened in the palace. That thu'um was obviously Marie's." Mittelt said, as she summoned her short sword.

"Yes." Lint and Ingvild said as the latter prepared to reopen her water bubble.

Issei's sacred gear increased the power of its wearer constantly while he exchanged blows against a Daedroth. Beside him, his fellow devils and Irina were also fighting other daedras. The four swordsmen that were Kiba, Xenovia, Irina and Tomoe were fighting against a Xivkyn, which used two long swords. Also, next to him were fighting Saji and Tsubasa, while Momo and Reya provided magical support to both fighters.

Issei was launching combos of attacks, interspersing between the three forms of the new power he had acquired. Using his version of «Knight», Issei dodged the daedra's attack and then got behind him. Already behind the daedra's back, he changed into his «Rook» form, which made his armor more voluminous, with this new form, he gave the daedra a strong blow. However, this blow was stopped by the Daedroth, who used one of his claws to do so.

Seeing his attack stopped, Issei just smiled under the helmet of his Scale Mail.

"Take this, you fucking bastard!" Issei yelled as a bulge like a steam hammer, which formed on his armor's gauntlets when he used the «Rook» form, moved and slammed into the daedra.

The force of the blow was such that it generated a shock wave instantly on impact. It was thanks to this that the reptilian-looking daedra ended up skidding a few meters.

Despite the force of the blow, however, the daedra did not fall, but simply charged the devils again.

"It's amazing that he can withstand a blow of that caliber so well." Said Saji as he used the rope from his «Absorption Line» to grab the daedra by the arm. "Tsubasa, give me a hand! Promotion: Rook!"

Sona's rook nodded to what was said by her peerage partner and positioning herself next to him, she took the rope and next to Saji, they both pulled hard. Both devils grunted a bit from the effort they started to use, but luckily, they managed to move the daedra.

The daedra was sent towards Issei, who, seeing how it was approaching him at great speed, extended his arm and yelled. "Ascalon!"

[Blade]

Draig's voice rang out, letting Issei know that the blade of the holy sword Ascalon would be summoned. The sword came out of Issei's left arm, who hoped that his sword would finish off the daedra and send him back to Oblivion, but to his bad luck, which didn't work, as the daedra moved its free claw and stopped the blade. The daedra opened its jaws and let out a loud roar as it felt the slash wound on his claw, but after that he pointed its mouth at the devils.

"Shit." Tsubasa said seeing how the Daedroth began to spit poison on them.

"Spread out!" Issei yelled as he unsummoned the sword from his sacred gear. After that, he quickly jumped to the side.

The other two devils promptly complied, so Saji deactivated his sacred gear and then jumped. Tsubasa did the same as Saji, and quickly jumped to the side.

"Momo!" Tsubasa yelled.

The white-haired devil moved her hands to the front and created a blue magic circle. From said circle a magical attack arose, which was a great ball of fire. The fireball managed to impact the daedra, causing a huge explosion.

"It's over?" asked Issei looking at the explosion.

"I hope so." Saji replied looking at the daedra. "After all we have to remove that anchor and then go see what happened to make little Marie shout."

Issei agreed, because he and Saji knew what Marie's voice was like when she used a thu'um, since they had experienced it firsthand during their training with Edzard.

Momo and Tsubasa also nodded, also hoping that this attack had managed to destroy the daedra. However, as the smoke that had been generated by the explosion began to disperse, the four devils watched in horror as the daedra was mostly unharmed with only a few superficial injuries.

"Shit. He is unharmed." Said Issei watching as the daedra started to move towards them.

"What do we do now?" Momo asked watching as the daedra stopped walking and started running.

"We continue with the plan. Saji, I and Tsubasa will hold him while you wait for the best moment to attack." Issei said as he got ready.

The three devils that belonged to Sona's peerage nodded and watched as Issei ran towards the daedra to fight him using his «Rook» form again.

While Issei and his mini group were fighting the Daedroth, Kiba, Tomoe, Irina, and Xenovia were engaged in a deadly sword dance against a Xivkyn. They were fighting hard to try to defeat him quickly, since they had also heard Marie's shout and wanted to go see what was happening and help if necessary.

'We knew from Edzard-sama telling us that this type of daedra was something like Molag Bal's personal guard… and now I see why. His skill level is very wide and not only that, but his physical abilities also make him very strong. He's easily on the level of a high-class devil.' Kiba thought as he watched as his attack, which was to create several of his «Sword of Betrayer» to use as projectiles, failed, as the daedra had managed to deflect all of them using his two weapons.

"This is annoying." Irina said pouting in annoyance. "He has reflexes that are almost like Edzard-kun has."

"No, Irina." Xenovia said shaking her head, as she changed the way she held her sword.

"And why is that Xenovia?" asked Irina watching as Tomoe attacked the daedra with ice spikes, which were created by her katana.

"Edzard's reflexes are sharper." Xenovia answered confidently.

"How are you so sure?"

"I've been researching everything I could about him, after all, the children I'll have with him will inherit those same abilities." Xenovia said as she began to run against the daedra, as she saw that Kiba had attacked him and was left without a good defense after missing his attack.

"You still haven't given that up..." The four swordsmen charged at the daedra again. Upon reaching where he was, they surrounded him and began to attack him simultaneously. Kiba swung his «Sword of Betrayer» rapidly, trying to land an accurate strike, but that was to no avail. Next to Kiba, Tomoe was throwing quick slashes, trying to cut places where the daedra's armor was attached, but as with Kiba, her attacks were blocked and there were cases where she had to go on the defensive, since the daedra was not only received the attacks, but also quickly counterattacked whenever he saw the opportunity.

Xenovia swung her sword, to use its weight to slash the Xivkyn, but her attack was blocked by the daedra, who crossed both weapons in an X shape, parrying the ex-exorcist's attack. Although the attack failed, Xenovia decided to use a little more force and began to struggle against the daedra, which only tried to struggle for a few seconds, but when it noticed that Irina was approaching from behind, it quickly moved its arms and pushed a little to Xenovia, she kicked the young devil full in the stomach.

"Don't know." Kiba answered, who after saying those words had to move his sword to stop the daedra's attack, which had escaped the attack unscathed. Unfortunately, the parried attack was only that of a blade and because he was using both hands to parry the attack, he was exposed to the daedra's second blade. Fortunately for him, Xenovia had moved fast enough to stop the attack.

After that, the other two swordswomen charged at the daedra, while Reya began to prepare one more spell.

Also, his balance breaker armor had some dents, caused by Roland's greatsword.

"I really wish I could talk to you, but it seems like it's not possible, right?" Azazel asked just as he had done throughout the battle. And just like on past occasions, he didn't get any verbal response. However, he did get a bodily response, which was for Roland to attack him with his greatsword.

Seeing his enemy coming, Azazel swung his spear of light and intercepted Roland's weapon. Swinging his spear, a little to the side, he brought the blade of the greatsword forward, allowing Roland to have an opening in his defense or at least that was what he expected, but when he tried to plunge the spear into him, Roland moved his greatsword and stopped the attack. After that, both enemies began to move again, beginning to attack each other with greater speed. The sparks arose again as both continued to attack each other, without moving too much from the place where they were, since both moved little and only enough to be able to kill their enemy quickly.

Seeing that this strategy didn't work, the Grigori leader jumped back and moving his left hand, launched several spears of light at Roland. The involuntary champion of Bal, saw the attack coming, but did not flinch, instead, moving the grip of his weapon a little, he began to deflect all of Azazel's spears. When he finished, he swung his own greatsword and using his incantation, created a large crescent of fire, which was directed at Azazel at high speed.

Seeing the same attack that had severed his arm long ago, Azazel moved his spear of light and when he saw that it was a good moment, he threw the weapon. Both attacks met and generated an explosion upon impact with each other. After that, Azazel wasted no time and conjured another spear of light and it was a good thing he did, as Roland appeared in front of him.

"Attack using an explosion as a smoke screen. That's a very old trick." Azazel said as he used his spear to deflect Roland's attacks.

Bal's champion did not respond verbally, but instead did so by increasing the speed of his attacks.

'Shit, this is getting complicated.' Azazel thought with annoyance and concern, as he began to feel like Roland's attacks could overwhelm him very soon. But when he felt that he would have to fight with all his abilities, a shout shook the place. Hearing that, Azazel put on a smile under his helmet.

'You were taking a long time, boy.' The Fallen leader thought, only to be shocked to hear another shout, which sounded quite like the one Marie had used. Although, he did not have time to think of anything else, as a third thu'um appeared and he was forced to take flight.

Yasaka was breathing heavily, feeling a little tired from the battle and the attacks she had received. Edzard's mother was more powerful than she thought. All the attacks she made with her «Fox Fire» were in vain, as she protected herself from it with a transparent barrier. Said barrier was so strong that she had managed to resist all her attacks so far.

"Ahhh… Ahh… You are stronger than I expected. It only confirms how you have such a powerful son and granddaughter though." Said Yasaka, who throughout the fight had tried to engage the woman in conversation to see if she could get her to react. Unfortunately, her attempts were in vain, since she did not respond with words, but with spells.

Selene moved her right hand and conjured three wolves, which were made of lightning. The wolves moved quickly and when they were about to reach Yasaka, they were defeated by the Kyubi, who used her fire to create a small shock wave.

After that attack, Edzard's mother began to run towards the kyubi, who looked at her with confusion.

"Why do you rush so recklessly?" Yasaka wondered in confusion. However, despite that confusion, the Kyoto leader launched several fireballs towards Selene.

The Dovahkiin's mother, began to dodge Yasaka's attacks and those she couldn't dodge, she rendered useless by using a «Ward». After reaching a few meters from the kyubi, Selene moved her hands and conjured several ice spears, which she threw at Yasaka.

Kunou's mother saw the enemy attack coming and jumping back, managed to dodge all of them. However, when she finished dodging them, she saw how Selene was in front of her.

What Yasaka was about to finish thinking was interrupted when Selene put both hands together and accumulating magic, created a large sphere of lightning. This sphere was thrown almost point-blank at Yasaka, who upon seeing the attack quickly created a barrier-type magic circle to defend herself.

A huge explosion was seen when Selene's attack hit the Yasaka barrier. When the smoke cleared, a slightly injured Yasaka could be seen who had lost parts of her maiden outfit, so one of her large breasts was now visible.

That thought came to the Kyoto leader's mind because she had dismissed the information about this magic as tales of Kuoh's pact to make her sign the treaty more quickly, but now she had just found out the hard way that was not true. Rather, the magic of Nirm's mortals was something completely terrifying.

Stopping thinking about that, Yasaka's eyes widened when she saw how Selene joined both hands and began to create a large ball of fire, which was a miniature sun.

'What kind of spell is that?' Yasaka thought with concern, for he felt that the way the magic was being accumulated was unstable.

"I have to stop her quickly, and that can only be done if I access the power of the Kyoto «Lay Lines»." Yasaka said as she prepared to access the power that the land of youkai possessed. However, before she could do that, a shout was heard.

'What's that shout?' thought Yasaka, who then had to put her hands to her sensitive ears, as she heard another shout even louder than the last. When she passed that shout, she was about to try again to use Kyoto's power, but she was forced to jump very high when she heard another shout again, which did something she never expected.

As fighting raged throughout Urakyoto, Edzard found himself trapped in one of the Daedric Titan's claws.

"It seems that your fame as a warrior is well earned, but you don't have the power that I assumed you did." Said the Titan mockingly as he watched as Edzard, who had tried to free himself from him using his superhuman strength but had not succeeded.

Edzard looked at the daedra as he surveyed what had happened in their short fight. The fight had been even, but he knew the truth, it was the opposite. The daedra had been the one who set the pace of the combat.

'I have to find a way to free myself.' Edzard thought as he kept his cool. He was calm now thanks to the fact that when the daedra grabbed him, he made attempts to break free using only seventy-five percent of the total strength of his human form. Furthermore, when he was struggling, he managed to get his sight inside the palace and there he could see Kunou carrying Marie, who was unconscious. Seeing them there, concern began to arise in him, because they would be in danger if something happened with the barrier, but fortunately, a group of Youkais appeared and began to take Kunou, who did not allow anyone to touch Marie.

The moment he witnessed that his daughter and her friend were no longer there, he began to prepare for battle.

"It looks like you have nothing to say." Said the Titan beginning to move his other claw. "Then die!"

Edzard saw how the titan's claw approached him and turning his eyes golden, he used one hundred percent of his strength in human form. With a quick movement, he managed to free the lower half of his face, which was covered by one of the titan's fingers. This was possible because he did it at a time when the daedra had been confident of victory for him, so he did not expect this sudden increase in power.

The titan's blue eyes widened in surprise upon seeing the smile Edzard put on before shouting.

"MUL! QAH! DIIV!"

After that shout, Edzard's body was covered in black flames, which forced the daedra to let go of him, as his claws began to burn, causing the daedra excruciating pain.

"Agggh!" yelled the titan in pain as he moved a little away from Edzard, after that, he began to examine his claw and realized something. "These cursed flames… No doubt, they are imbued with the power of Aetherius."

When the fire faded, Edzard could be seen in his dragon aspect. Seeing himself already in his most powerful form, Akatosh's son opened his mouth and shouted.

"FUS! RO! DAH!"

Edzard's thu'um generated a shock wave, which hit the daedra squarely, as it was only fifteen meters from Edzard.

The force of the attack sent the Daedric titan flying like a leaf being swept away by a hurricane. Also, unlike the thu'um he knew his daughter had used, Edzard was able to control the area the attack could cover. For that reason, the attack was directed at a single point, the daedra's chest.

Seeing that his enemy was far away, Edzard turned his gaze to the battlefield and what he saw made him worry. And it is that the whole area was being invaded by hundreds of daedras, which advanced without opposition through the downtown area, fortunately his group, the ORC and the Student Council were fighting well against their enemies. However, their battles were lasting longer than normal and now they were about to find themselves in trouble, as many lightning bolts fell from the sky, summoning several more daedras.

'This can't go on. Several mid-level daedras have just appeared, if the youkais are already being overwhelmed by them, it's only a matter of seconds before they're slaughtered.' Edzard thought as he planned a way to destroy the enemies that appeared. 'Looks like I have no choice, I'll have to use that thu'um.'

Thinking that, Edzard flapped his wings and launched like a rocket into the sky. When at last he reached a great height, he descended at great speed, looking like a meteorite. The moment he was a few feet from the ground, he shouted. "QETH! KRII! GOL!"

Edzard's shout was coordinated with his descent in such a way that by the time he finished shouting, he hit the ground, thus creating a small crater, which was accompanied by an earthquake that sent many reeling. However, that would be the last thing on their minds, for not a second later the entire floor of the city of Urakyoto was covered in spikes made of molten rock, which impaled many of the daedras. Among the fallen enemies were the daedras with whom her friends and lovers fought on the ground. This was because the attack took them by surprise.

The great power of Edzard's thu'um caused astonishment in everyone fighting, but a second later, everyone was astonished again when Edzard shouted again.

"STRUN! BAH! QO!"

Urakyoto's sky began to fill with black clouds rapidly and less than two seconds after the clouds covered the sky, it began to rain. The raindrops put out the fires that had started from the fire spells used by some daedras. However, that was not all that happened, as, in an unforeseen moment, hundreds of bolts of lightning began to strike, impacting several of the Daedras that survived Edzard's previous thu'um. In addition, the lightning bolts hit the flying Daedras, allowing those fighting them to catch a breather and regroup.

After that, Edzard took flight again and quickly went to where the Daedric titan was. When he arrived at the place where it had hit, he saw him standing as if nothing had happened while his body received several lightning bolts, which never hit, because a kind of vortex absorbed the attacks.

'Magic resistance... this is very troublesome.' Edzard thought as he spread his hands and prepared to resume combat.

"That really hurt me, Dovahkiin." Said the Titan looking at Edzard. "It's been many centuries since someone was able to hit me that hard."

"Heh, maybe because maybe you've only been facing weak beings." Edzard said mockingly.

The Daedric titan looked at Edzard and then let out a huge laugh. "Ha, ha, ha! You really have no idea what beings I've been up against!"

After that yell, the Daedric Titan moved at great speed and appeared in front of Edzard. Swinging his claws at high speed, he attempted to impale Edzard, but the young dragon responded by moving his own hands, managing to intercept the daedra's blow.

The impact of both members generated a large shock wave that created a small crater on the ground where both were fighting. In addition, the impact also generated air waves that extended several meters, sending various debris flying.

'He's stronger than I thought.' Edzard thought as he felt his arm tingle a little.

"You have become physically stronger, Dovahkiin." The Titan said as he began to apply more force to his arm, managing to make Edzard move back a bit. "Sadly, that's not enough!"

After the shout, the titan used much more force than he had used before and managed to make Edzard's arm move back.

'Shit' Edzard thought as he saw how the daedra moved his other claw and tried to hit him all over the face. Ducking, he barely managed to dodge the attack, but that left him open to another enemy attack, which was done by the Titan's tail.

"Ugh." It was what came out of Edzard's mouth now the Titan's tail hit him in the abdomen. The force of that attack made him fly away, but unlike the previous time, he managed to maneuver in the air, landing on his feet a few meters from the titan.

"You see it now! I never fought with all my physical strength!" the titan yelled as his body began to be covered in a large amount of Magicka.

"What are you planning?!" Edzard yelled as he responded to the power of his enemy by making his own body expel magic.

"I will start the real battle for this territory!"

After that cry, the daedra raised his hands to the sky and launched a large ball of purple energy into the sky. The sphere moved very quickly into the sky and when he broke through the layer of black clouds, it exploded, generating a purple shock wave that dissipated the clouds that generated Edzard's thu'um.

When the black clouds vanished, Edzard saw how the portal that was between the black anchor glowed and from there, hundreds of lights began to fall towards the ground. Seeing that, Edzard's heart filled with concern, for those lights only meant daedras. Wasting no time, he conjured a magic circle and shouted. "Asia, Lint, Aika, Issei, Saji, everyone who can hear me, withdraw from the chains of the black anchors and regroup with the Youkai! When you do, act together!"

As Edzard finished shouting, he began to hear the titan laugh.

"What are you laughing at?!"

"It is not obvious. I laugh at your despair." The Titan replied as he began to fly. "This land is lost Dovahkiin!"

Upon hearing the daedra's words, Edzard conjured his sword «Akachihel» and without wasting time he grabbed it with his right hand. Already with his best weapon in his hand, Edzard wasted no time and launched himself against his enemy.

Seeing Edzard fly at him, the Daedric Titan extended his claws, coating them with reddish energy. After that, the titan also launched against Edzard.

When both enemies met in the center, they began to attack each other furiously. The Daedra's claws moved at high speed as Edzard swung his own sword but having to deflect two attacks back-to-back had left him on the defensive. So, seeing that he had to gain more speed, he opened his mouth and shouted. "SU! GRAH! DUN!"

After that shout, «Akachihel» was enveloped by a current of black air. Said air was the unmistakable sign that this sword was now imbued with the power of the wind and that began to make a difference in the combat. And it is that now Edzard moved his sword so fast that he began to deflect the enemy attacks while he counterattacked accurately.

Edzard deflected two attacks from the daedra and seeing an opening, he stepped forward and swinging his sword quickly, he gave a vertical upward slash. The sword moved very quickly and impacted the Daedra's skin, thus creating a small wound. But not only did that happen, but also, thanks to the force of the blow, the Daedra skidded a few meters away.

"ROAR!" the Titan roared in anger as she stopped skidding. After that, he moved both hands and to Edzard's surprise, a large bolt of lightning erupted after a very fast spell charge time.

'Dammit, I can't cast any spell to stop it quickly. Looks like I have no other choice,' Edzard thought as he watched the attack coming. Opening his mouth, he didn't think twice more and shouted. "SOV! AG! SLEN!

The thu'um that Edzard used was one that allowed him to summon a lightning breath, which created a large bolt of lightning. A huge blue colored lightning originated from Edzard's mouth, said attack was much larger than the lightning formed by the «Lightning Storm» spell. This attack traveled at high speed and impacted with the spell the daedra used.

Now of impact, both attacks were neutralized, but in doing so they generated a large explosion that covered several meters in all directions, engulfing several daedras that were summoned by that area. In addition to the explosion, the shock wave also sent various debris flying, as well as some lesser daedra and Youkai that were unlucky enough to be around.

Shaking his head to clear these thoughts, he returned to focus his gaze on his enemy, who moved and began to fly towards him at high speed.

The Daedric titan moved at great speed and in less than two seconds he was in front of Edzard, who, upon seeing him, extended his left hand and released a great burst of «Sun Fire». The attack was so great that it completely engulfed the Daedra, forcing it to skid several meters backwards.

"You're making me lose patience, brat." Growled in annoyance at the daedra when he stopped skidding. After that, he moved his wings and prepared to launch himself at Edzard. "I'll finish this now!"

After that cry, the daedra's body began to expel enormous amounts of Magicka. The amount was so great that he ended up creating a vortex of pure magic, which threatened to engulf everything around it.

"Tsk. This is bad. I have to stop it now." Edzard said as he prepared himself for what he would do. Taking a deep breath, he shouted. "SULEYK! DOV! AL!"

After that shout, Edzard's body was covered by black flames, which began to swirl over the body of Akatosh's son.

When the Daedra's vortex and the flames covering Edzard were extinguished, both he and the Daedric Titan ended up being covered by auras. The Daedric titan had a dark blue aura, which began to freeze everything that was a few meters from him, meanwhile, Edzard's aura seemed like a blanket of black flames, which began to burn everything that was within his reach.

The two enemies saw each other and a second later they disappeared from the place. An instant later, a huge shock wave shook the entire Urakyoto territory. This did nothing but draw the attention of everyone around.

Both enemies began to move like rockets all over the place, exchanging blows at such speed that it was almost impossible to be seen by untrained eyes. Their fierce battle began to affect the fighting that took place throughout the territory, as their exchanges of blows generated air currents that were as strong as those of tornadoes. Or at least that was the impression those who watched the combat had.

"What's going on?!" Issei yelled as he felt how his body was shaken by the powerful currents of air that were generated by the impacts of Edzard's attacks against the Daedric Titan.

"I don't know, Issei-kun!" Kiba yelled in response, who along with Kuoh's devils and Irina were taking shelter from the shock waves thanks to a barrier they were all creating together.

"We have to keep moving forward!" Tomoe yelled as she started to advance until she was out of the barrier.

"You're crazy, Tomoe!" Saji yelled grabbing the girl from her arm to pull her back to the safety of the barrier.

"Saji-kun is right!" Tsubasa yelled. "Look around you! Even the daedras are having trouble staying on their feet!"

The swordswoman paid attention and looking around, she saw how the gusts of wind were sending several lesser daedras flying. After seeing that, she turned to look at his classmates and friends. "What do we do now?!"

"Just wait until we can move again!" Saji yelled.

Saji's words earned everyone's assent.

Asia was gathered with the rest of her friends, who managed to maneuver fast enough to get there before the whole fight got too intense. The girls had left their respective places when Edzard ordered them to. And it's good that they did, because a second after that, several daedras arrived at the place. While it was possible that they could fight them, when they were small groups, the amount of Daedra that showed up was huge, so they were forced to retreat and regroup.

Now that they were all together, the girls watched the combat, while conjuring a barrier to protect themselves.

"Asia this is getting out of hand!" Aika yelled as she watched or at least tried to see what was up with the fight.

"The spectacled pervert is right! This fight has far surpassed the battle Ed had with Loki!" Mittelt yelled.

Asia bit her lip in despair upon hearing that, for it was the truth. And that could be confirmed by looking around her, since many Youkais were being dragged as if they were simple leaves, ending up hitting debris, which caused some to die from the impact.

"We have to do something!" Lint yelled as she watched many Youkais lose their lives. "If this continues, all the Youkai outside this barrier will die!"

"We know, Lint! but what can we do?!" Aika yelled back. "We don't have the power to encompass this entire area with a barrier!"

"No!" Asia yelled, drawing the attention of the girls. "There is a way to help them!"

"Which?!" Ingvild yelled.

"My sacred gear!" Asia replied. "I can make the aura of protection and healing spread throughout Urakyoto! But I will need your help!"

The girls looked at each other and without thinking twice they nodded.

A smile appeared on Asia's face upon seeing their answer.

"Okay, Girls! I will stop helping with the barrier!" Asia yelled as she stopped sending magic to the protective barrier. "When I tell you now, send your power to the object you will see appear!"

"What object?!" Rossweisse asked as she took over the amount of magic that Asia was no longer contributing to the barrier.

"They'll know!"

After that answer, Asia positioned herself in the center of the barrier and clasping both hands above her head, she closed her eyes. The green aura emanating from her sacred gear began to become more and more condensed. A few moments later, Asia widened her eyes and screamed. "Protect my allies from damage! I invoked you, come my banner of war!"

Following that scream, Asia moved her hands down, and as her hands came down, a spear made of green energy was formed. At the top of said spear, a banner with the Cumberland heraldry materialized. When Asia embedded the banner into the ground, a luminescent green circle initially covered the place of the barrier, but then began to spread out several more meters.

"Now girls!" Asia yelled.

Lint, Tiamat, Aika, Mittelt, Ingvild, Rossweisse, and Valerie understood that this was the signal. Without wasting another second, they stopped creating the barrier and without wasting a second they rushed towards the banner of Asia and took it. The moment they did so, they all began to infuse said banner with magic. This caused the area of effect to increase until it reached the farthest place where youkais were.

Seeing this, Asia wasted no time creating a magic circle in her ear and started telling everyone to regroup where the banner was.

Edzard spat a large amount of blood now he received a blow from the titan, who had used his tail for that. After the blow, Edzard flew away, but he didn't allow himself to fall, instead he kept flying and when he was stable again, he had to dodge another attack from the Daedric titan.

'Damn it... he's more powerful than I expected. This level of power is not that of a normal Daedra...' After thinking that, Edzard had to dodge another attack, but unlike the previous time, now he took his weapon with both hands and gave a quick, but strong vertical slash to the Daedra.

His sword managed to take the daedra by surprise, wounding him. Although the cut was not deep, the fact that his sword was infused with the power of Aetherius caused the daedra to feel excruciating pain at the site of the cut.

"I'm going to smash that bloody sword of yours, Dovahkiin!" the daedra roared in anger and then moved at far more speed than he had used before.

Edzard's thoughts were interrupted when he saw his enemy's attack coming, which was a claw that overflowed with red magic around him. Seeing the attack, Edzard tried to dodge it, but despite his quick reflexes, his body didn't move fast enough to avoid the attack. The force that the daedra used to send Edzard flying caused him to end up falling in a place where both his group, the ORC and the rest could see what was happening.

"This is the end of Dovahkiin." He whispered the daedra approaching Edzard with slow steps. "Today you will die, but before you do, I will take away what you love most in this world."
