Yumi soon woke up, feeling a terrible pain in her head.
Soon she looked around and saw she was in a cold warehouse and the three Fatui agents that had kidnapped her playing cards and drinking illegal wine.
"Hey! What is going on here!" Yumi asked as she got their attention.
Soon Klaus, clearly the leader of the three, went over to her as he held her axe over her.
"You must be wondering why we've brought you here." Klaus simply said as he looked at her condescendingly.
Yumi glared back as breaths came out in short, visible puffs, the cold biting at her skin as Klaus continued.
"Despite what you might think… you are no ordinary girl."
Soon Yumi's anger soon turned to confusion and shock.
"Well, Yumi, we didn't pick you at random. We've been watching you for a while. You're much more important than you realize. You… are the granddaughter of the Tsaritsa of Snezhnaya."
Soon Yumi's world was instantly rocked as her mind was reeling. Granddaughter of the Tsaritsa? How could that be true? She had always known she was different, but she never imagined something like this. But as she looked into the man's cold eyes, she realized he wasn't lying. The revelation hit her like a tidal wave. She wasn't just a simple girl from Mondstadt—she was part of Snezhnaya's royal bloodline.
Yumi soon wrestled with the rope that bound both her legs and hands. But it was seemingly all in vain as the two other Fatui agents soon got up and joined Klaus.
"Don't bother screaming or trying to escape, no one can hear you out here, and we'll be leaving for Snezhnaya soon enough."
Yumi's fear turned into anger. These men thought they could just take her, use her like a pawn in their twisted game. They didn't see her as a person, just a tool. But something deep inside her stirred at the thought. A flicker of something… cold. Icy.
Klaus soon looked down and saw that the ice was slowly growing on his boots as Yumi's heartbeat slowed as she focused on that sensation, a strange chill radiating from her chest. She could feel the cold spreading outward, down her arms, to her hands, pooling in her fingers. It was a power she had never felt before. A power that was suddenly alive inside her.
Klaus soon tried to stop her but soon found that he couldn't move as the ice had now fully incased his boots as well of that of his two men.
"What's wrong, can't move? Well, you shouldn't have underestimated me, boys."
The leader turned back, raising an eyebrow, but before he could respond, Yumi's hands began to glow with a faint, frosty light. A sharp gust of wind swirled around her, filled with snowflakes that materialized from the air itself as the rope around both her hands and legs broke apart. Her captors took a step back, their expressions shifting from smugness to surprise.
Yumi, now free of her bonds, got up and simply held out her hand, and like magic, the axe came back to her as if the two of them were psychically linked together.
"You didn't realize who you were messing with."
But before they could react, Yumi thrust her hands forward, unleashing a wave of Cryo energy. Ice shot across the ground, trapping the feet of the two agents in thick blocks of frost. They struggled, their faces twisted in panic, but they couldn't move.
Klaus soon managed to get back, andavoided being trapped in ice but his smug expression was soon replaced with one of fear realizing his plans had gone totally awry.
Yumi didn't respond. Her heart was racing, but this time, it wasn't out of fear—it was out of exhilaration. The cold energy flowing through her veins felt natural like it had always been there, waiting for her to discover it. She raised one hand, and a sharp spear of ice formed in her palm, glinting dangerously in the moonlight.
"Oh trust me… you going to wish that you had left me alone. Tell the Tsaritsa whatever you want, but you're not taking me anywhere."
However, before she could skewer him. Klaus soon brought out his secret pistol and shot at Yumi, temporarily distracting her but it was enough to have him make his escape.
Soon the cold energy that radiated from Yumi's body quickly disappeared as she fell to the ground in a tired mess as the ice around her began to melt, leaving only a thin layer of frost on the ground.
She looked down at her hands, still glowing faintly with Cryo energy, and felt a strange mix of fear and wonder. She had no idea what had just happened, or what it meant for her future, but one thing was certain:
She wasn't just a random girl anymore.
"Yumi!" A familiar voice soon called out to her.
She soon looked up and saw that her lover, Lumine and someone else she didn't recognize had all soon made it to the warehouse.
She briefly as she gladly welcomed the warm embrace of Vikram before she passed out again.
When Yumi soon woke up again, she felt her face was wet. She touched her face and soon discovered that it was water Lumine soon set the bucket of water down.
"Thank the Archons that you are awake." Lumine said as Yumi soon got up from Vikram's lap as soon cuddled next to him.
"Well I am just glad you are still alive, I know lover boy here would have probably been depressed if you were still dead." Vestra said as he pointed to Vikram.
Vikram glared at him but ignored that comment asking Yumi what had happened.
So she told him of how Klaus had informed her of her identity and how he had planned to ransom her off to the Tsarita so he could get a better perk within the Fatui.
"Well then there is only thing left to do."
Vikram soon glared back at Vestra and asked what. Vestra soon sighed but said his solution out loud.
"It is time you both came to Snezhnaya."
