Chapter 6: Let's Go to Tokyo!

March 24, 2024

12:00 P.M.

JFK International Airport

Queens, NY

After Megumi had dropped off Shiro at the dog hotel for the week, he and Nobara agreed to take a cab to get to the airport.

While he did not have had a problem with driving himself and Nobara, he did not believe it would be safe for him to leave his car in the airport parking lot. He just knew some dumbass would try to break in and rob it. And since they would be gone for the whole week, those airport parking rates would incur a heavy expense on his bank account. They were expensive! After all, the flight ended up costing him-

Oh wait, the cost of the flight... Yeah, that was another thing that he may have forgot to disclose with Nobara.

It's okay, though. He knew she would like their seats.

Oh well, she'll be in for yet another surprise. He smirked to himself; no real harm done!

Megumi's train of thought was interrupted as the taxi driver informed the couple that they had arrived at the terminal gate. Nobara thanked him and exited the cab. Fushiguro grunted and gave the driver a big tip and later followed Nobara out.

As an airport worker opened the trunk and began to collect their things, Nobara spoke,

"Alright, now that we're here, let's talk about our plan. We make sure all our bags are checked, then pass through security, and once that's done, we can indulge ourselves in one of the three meals I made while we wait for our flight to board. Airplane food costs a lot and are very low quality."

As Megumi was about to respond, a flight attendant came up to the pair,

"Good afternoon, Mr. Fushiguro, Ms. Kugisaki. Don't worry about your bags. We will make sure to get those as we get you two checked into first class."

Nobara's eyes widened in confusion. First class? No way! While she knew that Megumi had covered the flight costs, there was no fucking way that he had enough to get them first class seats.

Plus, he would have made sure to tell her that they would be seated in first class beforehand. He should have wanted to start fresh after coming clean yesterday.Didn't he?

Nobara sent her boyfriend a quick suspicious glare before turning back to the flight attendant, and said in a polite voice, "Oh no, no, no. There must be some sort of mistake. The two of us, you know, your average not rich college students don't fly first class. We are economy people. Isn't that right, Fushiguro?" She sent him a look that promised immediate death if he did not agree.

Before Fushiguro could reply, the flight attendant laughed, "Oh, she is so funny. You picked such a keeper, Mr. Fushiguro. Anyways, follow me please to first class."

Megumi grunted in agreement and began to follow the attendant. Nobara was about to yell at him until he grabbed her hand and dragged her behind him.

"Hey! Let go of me you asshole! Our bags—"

"They'll be fine. Come on." He responded with his usual tired voice.

A few minutes later, the flight attendant had guided the two towards the front of the plane and opened a curtain that revealed the first-class section.

Another flight attendant took over and officially welcomed the couple inside.

"Welcome aboard, Mr. Fushiguro and Ms. Kugisaki. If you would please follow me, I will guide you to your private suite. Feel free to grab a glass of champagne from our bar as well."

Nobara looked around the contents of first-class as she walked by and could not believe what her eyes were seeing. First-class was definitely much better than economy. She thought that every step they took inside first-class was going to cost them another thousand dollars.

Once they both reached the suite, Nobara's jaw hung wide open. She was very close to dropping her glass of champagne on the floor. They couldn't afford this nice suite at all! Although Nobara had to admit that those lounge chairs sure looked comfortable. Maybe sitting in first-class wouldn't be so bad.

Who am I kidding? First-class totally fucking rocks!

As Fushiguro trailed behind and sat down on his chair, the flight attendant asked "Oh, after takeoff, would you two like to continue enjoying the lounge chairs or should we convert the suite into a bedroom?"

That question made the two of them look at each other, and two tints of light blushes appeared on both of their faces.

Nobara quickly placed a hand over Fushiguro's mouth to stop him from responding.

"We're okay. Thanks. Go away now."

The stewardess nodded and made her exit.

Now that the two were alone, Nobara took the opportunity to ask Fushiguro to answer the several questions that came into her mind in the last few minutes.

"Dude, what the hell? We both know that neither of us can afford this."

Megumi smiled slyly, "Yeah, I know."

"So why didn't you say anything?!"

"My dad knows the owners of the airline. In other words, free tickets."

"Oh my god, dude. I can't believe this." Nobara then noticed a pair of pajamas on the side of the suite. She picked them up and was surprised when she felt them. Were these really sleeping pajamas?

"Wow, these pajamas are even fancier than all of the dresses in my closet" Nobara laughed.

She turned back to Fushiguro and went back to her main argument, "God, I just could never imagine that you, of all people, were fucking rich. I mean, you have a gift card to Coffee Bean, you use my Netflix account, and you even work out at that shitty gym that smells in Brooklyn."

"That gym is actually one of the best gyms in the state, thank you very much." He said while sipping on his champagne.

"Oh yeah, definitely" she spoke sarcastically. "Why can't you just work out at the gym near campus like everybody else does?"

"Because I don't want to have to see anybody else from school there."

Nobara groaned at his answer. She couldn't blame him though; that was a classic Fushiguro response after all.

"Look Fushiguro, like I said before, I don't care about how rich you are, but it would be helpful if you could give me an overview of what exactly I'm getting myself into by coming with you back home to visit your family."

Fushiguro sighed, "Well, a lot of family friends are going to be in town with Itadori's wedding going on obviously. My sister Tsumiki plans on being there too."

"Oh yeah, I remember Tsumiki. You always talked about how she has the biggest heart out of everyone in your family."

"Yeah, she's a well-known social worker across Japan. She makes sure that all her clients are well accounted for. After our parents passed away, Tsumiki dedicated herself to making sure that I had all the support I needed to move forward. Now, she does the same for other children. I'm glad that I'm close to her, she's the best sister that any brother could ask for."

Nobara nodded. She was happy that Megumi had somebody else to count on for support.

"What about your friends?"

"I wouldn't call them my friends exactly. They're more Itadori's than anything. You'll learn more about why I despise the lot of them once you meet them. With the number of business connections my dad has, I met a few of their kids who I really didn't get along with for the most part. And since you don't care about my wealth, you're already considered gold in my parents' eyes. I am sure they'll enjoy getting to know you."

Once Megumi finished, the pilot announced that the flight was ready for takeoff.

As the plane made its descent off the runway, Fushiguro put on his headphones to listen to some music while he read. He turned to Nobara, who grinned happily at him as she started to get comfortable in her lounge chair.

Although the flight back home was going to be an extremely long one; 14 hours to be exact, he knew that with Nobara by his side, he wouldn't have it any other way.

That thought made Fushiguro smirk back at her before he went back to his book.

6 hours later

Nobara and Megumi had decided that it was time for the two to get some rest in before they landed in Tokyo. Fushiguro had called back the flight attendant to let her know to change their suite into a bedroom.

They had changed into their complimentary pajamas and had gotten comfortable in the bed. Before trying to drift off to sleep, Nobara still had a couple of doubts about the information that Fushiguro had told her before.

For one thing, which hotel would they be staying at? Fushiguro did tell her that his house was still "under construction" so they would be staying at a hotel. Nobara had forgotten to do some research about the hotels in Tokyo. He assured her that the hotel they would be staying at was one of the most highly rated hotels in the city.

She wondered why they would stay in a hotel in the first place. She didn't want Fushiguro to waste money on her. After all, rich people needed to budget too!She wouldn't deny that the hotels were much nicer than the ones back home; she honestly was sure of it, but Megumi lived in Tokyo. Surely, one of them wouldn't have a problem with letting them stay in their guest rooms for the week.

Nobara noticed Fushiguro was looking at the ceiling; it looked like he was counting imaginary sheep to fall asleep faster. He had read and finished his book within three hours of the flight and had originally taken a good nap as well before he ended up requesting the suite change.

All this dude does is sleep!Seriously?Nobara scowled at him, before deciding on getting his attention.

"Hey, Fushiguro?"

"Hm?" He groggily asked

"Did anyone of your friends or family offer you a guest room that we could stay in for the week? I appreciate you getting a hotel, but I don't want you spending all this extra money on me."

Megumi lifted himself up and placed a hand over his heart in a betrayed manner.

"Oh, beloved, that hurts me. And here I was trying to be a great boyfriend by getting us a hotel so that I could have more time in the world for you. I'm disappointed." He used a voice of mock sadness like the one his mom used when she called him a few days ago.

Nobara snorted, "Great acting. You still didn't answer my question, though."

"Like I said before, I dislike most of my friends. Plus, my aunts and uncles have their own shit to deal with in their own homes. I wouldn't want you to witness even more chaos by staying with them. A hotel is the best option for us. We get our privacy that way."

He rose an eyebrow at her, "That is okay with you, right?"

Nobara agreed with his was already planning on facing his rabid fangirls. She did not want to endure any more unwanted stress to the vacation.

"Yeah, it is."

"Good. With what we're doing, we're going to need as much privacy as possible." Fushiguro took the opportunity to snuggle closer to her and pushed his mouth onto hers with a deep kiss.

Nobara welcomed his embrace and had begun to stick her tongue down his throat in response.

Oh, yeah. That's some good stuff.

With Megumi by her side, Nobara was positive that she was going to have the best spring break of her life.

Haneda Airport

March 25, 2024

2:00 PM

As the pair landed safely, they had gotten their bags and made their way out of the third terminal gate and passed through immigration and customs, Nobara could not believe how amazing Haneda was.

The airport was filled with many restaurants and shops. She noticed many people conversing amongst each other and enjoying what the airport had to offer. It was like going to the mall, except this one was way bigger. She couldn't wait to do some shopping in the city. She hoped that she brought enough money to do so.

Nobara was sure she could get the same things in Tokyo that she could get in America, but at a much lower price. She made sure to save her money by not doing any online shopping before the trip.

That's what game theory is all about.Nobara smirked to herself until she realized something.

Oh, fuck.

Nobara mentally cursed Professor Young for making her think about economics during spring break.

She turned to Fushiguro who was walking slightly in front of her and asked, "So, where do we pick up our rental car?'

"We don't. I just texted our ride. We'll meet them here in a minute."

"Huh? Who's picking us up?"

Before he could reply, they both heard a familiar obnoxious voice call out to them.

"FUSHIGUROOOOOOOOOOOOO! KUGISAKIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!"

Within the crowd of airport goers, Nobara and Megumi could make out a guy with visible spiky pink hair, trying to pass through to reach them. A girl with short brown hair was trailing behind him; she was holding balloons and a sign with Nobara and Megumi's names on it.

"Itadori, huh?" Nobara whispered to Fushiguro, who nodded in response.

As Yuuji Itadori made it past the crowd, he ran up to the two; and aimed for Nobara first.

"KUGISAKI WELCOME TO JAPAN!" He yelled as he gave her a bone crushing hug.

"Hey Itadori ….it's been a….minute ….since I last….saw you." She laughed while trying to break free.

After a few seconds of Itadori hugging her tightly, Nobara felt that she was about to suffocate under his grasp, "Okay, you can get off now!"

At that moment, Fushiguro helped Nobara pry Itadori off.

Itadori moved on to acknowledge Fushiguro, "There's my best man!"

Fushiguro backed up before Itadori could crush him, and gave him a look that said, "You try something and you're dead."

Lucky for him, Itadori got the message and backed off. The girl with brown hair caught up to the three, and he took this opportunity to introduce her to Nobara.

"Nobara, this is Yuko Ozawa, my future wife." His introduction made Yuko blush, "Yuko, this is Fushiguro's girlfriend, Nobara Kugisaki."

"It's nice to finally meet you, Kugisaki Nobara." Ozawa smiled and bowed at her

"Likewise." Nobara nodded.

"I got these balloons for you; I hope that you like them!" Nobara accepted the balloons from Yuko's hand.

"Here, let me help you with your luggage. You too Yuuji!" Ozawa ordered to her future husband, who quickly grabbed one of their suitcases.

"So, what's the first thing you want to do while you're here Nobara?" All eyes were on her as Ozawa finished asking her question.

"Uh… I… um…" Nobara couldn't form a complete sentence. Why were they all looking at her? How the hell would she know? Excuse them, she's never been to Japan!

"I'm not sure, I don't know much about what there is to do in Tokyo." she said.

"Don't worry Nobara! I'm familiar with all the sweet spots in Tokyo. I'll be glad to be your tour guide for the rest of the day!" Itadori happily proclaimed, giving her a thumbs up a second after.

"How about we all get some lunch first? I'm sure Megumi and Nobara are quite hungry after their long flight." Ozawa suggested

"I know the perfect place! Let's go you guys!" Itadori yelled as he and Yuko began heading to the parking lot to get his car.

Megumi looked back to Nobara, who was distracted by a shop nearby. He gently slapped her cheek, which effectively brought her back.

"Huh? What?"

Megumi chuckled, "Glad you could join us again. We're going to go eat something. After that, we'll do some sightseeing. If you want to shop, there are better options downtown. Trust me."

Talking about shopping brought Nobara out of her confusion, "Oh hell yeah let's go then!" She then noticed that Itadori and Ozawa were walking away, "Hey guys, wait! I know what we can do after!" Nobara ran to catch up to the pair.

Fushiguro laughed and followed them.

While the four young adults made their way to Itadori's car, a familiar set of eyes had made itself known after hearing the previous conversation between the group.

Satoru Gojo was excited to finally be home, and he was even more excited to have gotten an in-person glimpse of his cute son's new girlfriend. She was perfect for him!

He hid under a newspaper during their entire conversation. He smiled as he noticed how Megumi was happy to be around her; she also wasn't hanging on to him like a lost puppy, which was another thing Gojo liked. Those two are perfect for each other! He couldn't wait to properly meet her tomorrow when Megumi brought her over.

Gojo recalled that Utahime was getting the house ready for the house-warming party to celebrate their son's return. A lot of guests were expected to come over to welcome him home. Actually, the party was supposed to honor the both of them coming back home. Gojo had been gone too on business. Didn't anybody care about his return?

Coincidentally, the tan hua flowers in their garden were almost ready to bloom. Those flowers rarely bloomed fully, and they honestly could not have picked a better time to do so.

Utahime even invited Megumi's godfather, Mr. Yoshinobu Gakuganji, to the wasn't sure why he was invited, partially because Gakuganji never liked him. But he did enjoy the company of Utahime and the kids, so he guessed that he could make an exception. It took awhile for Utahime to get back on Gakuganji's good side after the engagement happened.

Gojo would have to keep a close eye on Utahime and make sure she did not cause trouble with Nobara. He knew that she truly was the right girl for their son. Just from that conversation alone, he already knew Nobara was making him a happier person. Gojo mentally hoped that Utahime would think the same once she saw them together.

Gojo suddenly heard his phone begin to vibrate. He checked it and noticed a text from Suguru saying that he and Nanami were outside the airport waiting to take him home.

Alright, let's get this show on the road!

He grabbed his suitcase and made his way outside to the area they were parked in. It was time for the action to unfold!
