In an auditorium, standing on a podium, Ozpin begins announcing the teams by calling them over one by one to the podium, "Russel Thrush. Cardin Winchester. Dove Bronzewing. Sky Lark. The four of you retrieved the black bishop pieces. From this day forward, you will work together as team CRDL led by … Cardin Winchester!" applause came from the audience. The newly made team CRDL walked off as the next batch came in. "Phillip Kim, Eddie Moore, Chad Jang, Royce Na. The four of you retrieved the black pawn pieces. From this day forward, you will work together as team PCMN … led by Phillip Kim!" Phillip smugly smiles behind his face mask as applause is made for the new team. 'After this ceremony, I'll start my plan to take over Beacon, and then I can stand by his side again,' thought Phillip. Team PCMN walked off stage, and Ozpin began to call over the next team. "Jaune Arc. Lie Ren. Pyrrha Nikos. Nora Valkyrie. The four of you retrieved the white rook pieces. From this day forward, you will work together as team JNPR. Led by … Jaune Arc!" Nora hugged Ren in excitement. The announcement took Jaune by surprise, "Huh? L-Led by …?" "Congratulations, young man," congratulated Ozpin. Pyrrha playfully punches Jaunes on the shoulder, which launches him off the podium onto his butt, causing everyone to laugh. Team JNPR walked off, and Ozpin called for the next team. "Blake Belladonna." That name surprised Gray as he looked closer at her and realized who exactly he was looking at. 'Blake Belladonna. Princess of Menagerie. Daughter of Ghira Belladonna, founder of the White Fang. I'm surprised she's here, but I'm more surprised Weiss hasn't noticed.' Gray thought as he looked at Blake; he then chose to look toward Yang so as not to draw attention from Blake. Yang noticed Gray looking at her and winked playfully. "Ruby Rose. Weiss Schnee. Yang Xiao Long. The four of you retrieved the white knight pieces. From this day forward, you will work together as team RWBY led by … Ruby Rose." This shocked Ruby. Surprised Weiss and made Yang swell in joy and pride. Team RWBY walks down, and Ozpin calls in the next team. " Teddy Jin. Gerard Jin. Rowan Im. Alex Go. The four of you retrieved the white bishop pieces. From this day forward, you will work together as team GART led by … Gerard Jin." Gerard was surprised but smiled at the fact he's a leader now. His new teammates congratulated him while they were walking down. "Gray Yeon. Waldo Amudo. Ben Park. Eugene Gale. The four of you retrieved the white king pieces. From this day forward, you will work together as team BWGE led by … Ben Park." Ben embraced his newly made team with a fierce hug, happy with his teammates. Ben's strength was a tad too much, and they started choking. Ben noticed and let go, laughing embarrassedly. Team BWGE walked down to their friends. And to himself, Ozpin said, "It looks like things are shaping up to be an … interesting year."

After the team-making ceremony, Phillip Kim stands alone underneath the moonlight overlooking Vale. He was proud that he earned his spot in Beacon and became the team leader. It fed into his ego, and with that, he began to plot his ascent to be the one atop Beacon, 'Now is the time to start my takeover of Beacon and get revenge on that dumb fucking meathead Ben Park!' He held his still sore arm in remembrance of Ben's overwhelming strength. 'But if I ever fight him, the results would be obvious.' He took out his scroll and looked through his contacts to see who he could call to take on Ben. He hovered over his finger one particular contact, "No. I can't call him. He's too intimidating for this. I shouldn't call him." he swiped through his contacts until he landed on the perfect one. "This one, he's got bad blood with Ben too. Fucking perfect." He then called the contact.

"I told you. I won't hit you if you can stay like that for two hours. Ke ke ke. What's wrong?" mockingly said the tormentor, sitting in his armchair and smoking surrounded by his men, lording over three poor guys from his university who were forced to hold the plank pose. The poor guys have been stuck like that for quite a long time. "Giving up?" Suddenly, his scroll rang. "What does this guy's sorry ass want with me?" the tormentor stood up from his armchair and stepped on the hands of the one in the middle, who screamed in pain. "What do you want? Phillip," he said, uninterested in what Phillip had to say. "You know that I applied to Beacon, right? So did Ben Park. And the both of us got accepted," told Phillip. "And …" he said and then thought, 'This bottom dweller should be in no position to call me…' "Apparently, Ben is scheming to crush you," said Phillip. This set him off into a rage, "What?! What kind of fucking bullshit is that?!"

Him going around talking all this crap?" Phillip said as he egged on Jimmy Bae, purposely agitating him to manipulate him further. "Hey, Phillip. I was already itching to murder Ben, that fucker. So you watch and see," replied Jimmy. 'Keke. He took the bait. Jimmy, that idiot.' thought Phillip, smirking that his plan was working. "Also! Don't say a single word about this to Him. I'll destroy Ben myself," threateningly said Jimmy. With that, Jimmy ended the call. "Kekeke. I knew this big-headed prick would be like that. Keke. He's even more stupid than I thought.

"Fuck," said Jimmy as he sat back down. "Phillip Kim? What did he say?" Asked Jack Kang, Jimmy's right-hand man and Yoosun's number two. "That Ben Park is running his yap about crushing me," Jimmy said with a vein popping out on his forehead. Jimmy begins to remember his past fight with Ben Park. *Flashback - Both Ben and Jimmy were panting with blood on their faces. "That all you got?" said Ben, ready to continue fighting. 'Shit! Shit!' thought Jimmy while massaging his left arm while swinging it up. Suddenly, a voice and his entourage interrupt their fight. "Hey, Jimmy. You moron, you're dragging it out like a fucking idiot. Jimmy Bae. I'm telling you, you're all talk and no action," said the voice in a degrading manner. 'What's He doing here!' shuddered Jimmy at the presence of Him. - Flashback ends* In anger, Jimmy kicked the three saps holding their plank pose, "Get lost," he said. His three victims ran away in fear and relief. "Hey, Jack." "Yeah?" "I think I'm going to have to crush Ben. Gather the boys. And bring him here tomorrow." "Alright." 'What? Drag Ben Park here? Jack, you idiot, this is your chance to show your loyalty and back it up' thought Harper "Helmet" Ha, one of Jimmy's lackeys and a total idiot, not understanding why Jack is Jimmy's right-handed for a reason. "This time, I'll annihilate him. So he doesn't dare talk shit about me ever again." Angrily said Jimmy while gritting his teeth. 'Then go there yourself … it's not as easy as you say to bring him here … and real talk, you're the lowest ranking in the Union too.' tensely thought Helmet.

The night in Beacon is lively, with small celebrations here and there. They celebrate, unaware of the impending battle that is yet to come, unaware of the consequences that come with it. For the Union is coming, and it's coming for conquest.
Thus began the conflict between Beacon and the Union; they won't know what hit them.
Author's Endnote: The Union is finally here, and I'm excited to write about what's to come. Fun fact: Pacman is a legitimate color. Team names: BGWE is beige, and GART is garnet (long shot, I know). Also, I thought it made sense for Gray (considering he's related to Weiss in the fic) to know who Blake is, considering she is the daughter of Ghira, who started the White Fang and is currently the chief of Menagerie. Also, the White Fang has been targeting the Schnee family and those adjacent to them. So, it should be reasonable for someone like Gray to know the publicly known members of the White Fang.
