No-One But You (The Star Child's Eclipse)
Chapter 5: Sofia (Part 5)
…
Wade Wilson brought up a good point at the "coyote's den" when he thought about Sofia Strange randomly being there without her parents.
…
It seemed strange for the mercenary, since she was only seven years old, but who was he to judge?
We'll dive into all that soon, but just know that Sofia's parents knew exactly where she was at all times.
…
In fact, they were with her in that moment, because her true form was beside her mother in a place called the Realm of Light.
Clea Strange wasn't feeling well, and that's where her parents went when they wanted to conceal themselves from the rest of the world.
Sofia didn't really understand what was happening with her mother, so she busied herself by splintering off in different directions.
First, she went to Tony Stark's lab and she started hunting for "Doom bots" as soon as Tony complimented her gift.
She also kept herself busy by hanging around her uncle, Victor, and in that form they were finally heading off to the Brimstone Dimension.
…
A creature from the Dark Dimension met Victor and Sofia before they went in. Its name was Paradox, and Paradox was following orders from Sofia's parents.
That mighty creature had strict orders to follow, and its only "mission" was to monitor Sofia and keep her safe.
Sofia wasn't playing any games with her parents, but she always knew that Paradox was their eyes and ears whenever she wandered around in the Dark.
Anyway, this chapter is only a set-up of details. Details, details, details, and those details had something to do with a peculiar energy.
Sofia was making her way into the Brimstone Dimension when she caught a glimpse of the energy, and it made her stop short directly beside her uncle.
Now, just for context, there's dark energy, Dark Dimension energy, and then there's EVIL energy, and what Sofia felt in that moment was definitely darker than "dark."
It didn't frighten her, surprisingly, and she simply delivered that information to her father.
Stephen was with his wife, as expected, as well as something called Agamotto. The former Sorcerer Supreme had harmonized with his Vishanti entity at some point in this enormous story.
It only took a friggen century, but it happened.
Agamotto and Stephen were concerned for Clea. She was very unwell, and in an alarmingly weakened state.
She was too vulnerable to be out and about in any form, so they agreed to remain in the Realm of Light until her "symptoms" passed.
Those "symptoms" were only getting worse, and Clea's spirit was officially dwindling.
She had a goal in mind to become a mother, and to reverse what was done to her years ago by actually having Stephen's child. She felt cursed.
Perhaps an actual curse was preventing her from carrying Stephen's child to full term. Realistically speaking, Clea Strange wasn't stupid.
She knew she wasn't going to able to accomplish her goal and truly "become" a mother.
She had enemies that stretched far and wide that wanted to overthrow her, and crush her soul from the inside out...
Clea had no greater enemy than the evil soul that gave birth to her, and she also had to live with the curse of being born from her mother.
Umar, the banished one… that wicked thing had been left for dead, and forever buried in a cold dark pit.
Clea imagined her mother removing herself from that pit all the time, perhaps with help from someone who wanted to wallow around with her in the Dark.
…
Oh, it was too dreadful to think about and rehash, so Clea tried to find some sort of peace there with Stephen in the Realm of Light.
The thought of staying there forever crossed her mind, but the notion also seemed a bit childish…
…
