Chapter 27: Fame, aliases and internships

Alien Queen: Midori, there is something me and Kacchan need to tell you.

Tsar Bomba: Stop using that nickname!

Green Devil: Are you two dating? I'm so happy for you!

Alien Queen: Don't be silly! You know my heart belongs to a certain green haired weirdo.

Tsar Bomba: Stop with this crap! Deku, I and Horns were able to see inside that frozen time of yours during cavalry battle. It only lasted for about a second. I think it has something to do with Round cheeks' quirk and gravitational time dilation.

"Shit. I hope they don't learn how to stop time too!"

Green Devil: Holy crap! Could you move as well?

Tsar Bomba: No.

Alien Queen: I could barely move my eyes a little. It was scary, NGL. It's like I was paralyzed.

Green Devil: Don't tell others, ok?

Alien Queen: Sure.

Tsar Bomba: Whatever.

Midoriya suffered from a headache. He used the sleeping pill three times in one day for the first time. His brain certainly wasn't prepared to enter and exit deep sleep so frequently, so the pain was expected. He promised himself to not overuse the drug so much in the future.

Izuku wasn't so used to being recognized by people on the street and in public transport. Two of his guests weren't used to this either. This whole situation would make his vampirism and fetishism a lot harder to keep under wraps. At least Kacchan's was there to push them away without green head having to do anything. Although, he never passed an opportunity to give autographs. After all, he often asked them from heroes all the time.

Ochako's fame was quite overwhelming as well, since she went further into the competition than expected. People from the distance called her Izuku's girlfriend, likely because they were together when going to school. It was only a matter of time before someone figures out they live under the same roof.

Izuku was surprised to see Iida at UA. He thought the guy would need more time to mourn his recently deceased brother. Although bespectacled boy tried to look and act normal, something about him felt off.

"He wants to avenge his brother." Boss warned the boy.

"What makes you think that?" Boy wondered.

"I can see killing intent in people's eyes. I used this skill a lot in the beginning of my career."

"Well, if his older brother got killed despite having more experience, Four Eyes here is as good as dead." Vampire laughed.

"Tenya is responsibility personified. He won't do something so dumb."

Tsuyu approached the lost in internal dialogue teen.

"Middoriya-chan. I'm worried about Iida-chan. I think he is still isn't over his brother's death."

"I wouldn't expect anyone to be over that in 1 day."

"That's not what I meant. I think he wants to kill Stain in revenge."

"Really? Well, ok. Let's tell sensei know about this." Izuku could hear Diavolo face palming.

They went to find Aizawa and explain their concern.

"Great, first Todoroki, now Iida. My class is getting more problem children by the day."

"Thank you two for notifying me. I'll make sure to keep Iida away from Stain's current whereabouts."

"How, sir?"

"Don't know yet, but I'll figure it out. By the way, Midoriya, your time stop and mind control are declassified."

"About time. Get it?" Tsuyu and Shota didn't find it funny.

Before the class could move on to their internship offers, Midnight entered the classroom to help children pick hero names. Katsuki's and Mina's first suggestions were unfortunately declined. Shoto went with his real name (lame!). Izuku and his neighbors tried to think of something meaningful.

"Emperor."

"Too egotistical."

"Holy Diver."

"Only makes sense for your stand, Dio."

"Deku?"

"Absolutely not! That sounds dumb, kid!"

"GOD!"

"Same problem as Emperor."

"Schizoid man."

"A little too honest for my taste."

"Kronos."

"Come on, only 5 people in this country will understand that, 2 of who are at this school."

"Founder. As in, someone who manipulates foundational parts of the world: time and matter."

"Sound good to me."

"Yes"

"Sure."

No one objected this choice of a name both inside and outside Izuku's head. Midnight commented that the name exudes the power and confidence of a true hero.

"It is time to show you how many offers each of you got. The numbers used to more leveled, but this time they are skewed towards top students." Eraserhead changed slide on his presentation.

"Damn it! I got nothing!" Tooru slammed her desk.

"I'm surprised Midoriya-chan is so low."

"You shouldn't be. I barely used KQ in the race and most of my fights in the tournament weren't visually impressive. My saving grace was spamming time stop during cavalry to avoid everyone's attacks."

"Regardless of who got how many offers, this is a part of our curriculum. UA cooperates with several agencies to provide students with experience. I need to all of you to choose your mentor today."

"Guys!" Izuku raised his arm. "I'm nothing if not an expert on heroes and quirks. You can come to me for advice if you want."

After learning about Tenya's suicidal plan to avenge his brother, principal Nezu organized an urgent staff meeting to handle this problem. Yagi volunteered to get his old teacher to step in and keep the boy occupied.

Iida picked out heroes who operate in Hosu. He was hoping that no one would pick up what he is planning. His train of thought got halted All Might of all people approached him.

"Greeting, young Iida."

"Hello, sir."

"My former mentor, G-G-Gran Torino, wants to you to intern under him." Number One hero's voice was trembling.

"Gran Torino? I've never heard of him before."

"He was active way before you were even born. He's an excellent tutor."

"Shouldn't he be too old by now?"

"He is old but NOT obsolete. Trust me, I can't think of a better person to train you than him."

"Of course, sir! I will study with him!"

Not many people could go against All Might's wishes, certainly not the rule abiding Tenya.

"Todoroki-san, how are you?"

"I'm good, Midoriya-san. Hound Dog and I had a heart to heart yesterday; we are making progress. He even convinced me to go and visit my mother when possible." He looked around. "Listen, I know I haven't been on good terms with you or anyone else, but I was told I should be making friends my age. Will you be my friend?"

"Of course! You can make even more friends if you actually use our chat."

"Understood."

"By the way, this might come off as rude, but I think not using half of you quirk is dumb. There could be a situation where fire is necessary, and neglecting it would result in casualties."

Shoto giggled.

"What's so funny?"

"Hound Dog and Eraserhead told me the same thing."

"So? Did you listen to them?"

"I… I don't know yet. I understand this line of reasoning, but something within me goes in shock when I try to make fire. It may be a subconscious reaction."

"If only you knew what subconscious crap I have to deal with."

"Hopefully, your mind and soul can recover from that trauma."
