The next morning the team arrived bright and early so that they could spend some time with Derek, Penelope and Hank before time for the judge to video chat with them to get their sides of what had happened to Penelope..

Everybody was having fun spending time with the little family and a few minutes before noon everybody minus Hotch walked out of the room as to not disturb them while they did their video chat with the judge.

Penelope was still holding a sleeping Hank when the computer started ringing alerting them that it was time to face the judge, Savannah and Sam along with their attorneys. Penelope blew out a deep breath and said, "we can do this" just seconds before the screen split into three different areas.

Hotch smiled as the judge said, "thank you for agreeing to this video call, I knowthat you have to be exhausted Mrs. Morgan, especiallysince you have a newborn that's less than 24 hours old", she said, "I'd do it again your honor, he's the light of our lives", Derek smiled and nodded his head yes as he looked down at his sleeping son.

The judge said, "my name is Judge Thomas Cade and I'll be presiding over this case", next came a young lady that said, "Monica Kelly for the defendants your honor", in the last portion of the computer a voice said, "Todd Graves for the prosecution your honor".

Thomas said, "okay, this is how this call is going to go, I'm going to get both Derek and Penelopes side of what happened since I've already heard from the prosecution and defense prior to the call, now there will be no raised voices because we don't want to wake the baby and if either of the defendants raise a ruckus they will be held in contempt of court".

Everybody nodded their heads yes in agreement and Sam couldn't take his eyes off of the sleeping tot, he had come so close to being the father, well not really, she was already pregnant when she was taken even though she wasn't far enough along for it to be noticable from Penelope.

Thomas and the attorneys listened as first Derek and then Penelope told their sides of what had happened, they then faced cross examination from both the prosecution and the defense and when they were finished the judge said, "thank you both for taking time to talk to us today and again congratulations on the birth of your son, he's adorable".

Derek and Penelope said, "thank you", Thomas then looked at Hotch and said, "Agent Hotchner once a decision is reached by me you will be contacted", Hotch said, "thank you sir", Penelope glanced up long enough to see the looks on Sam and Savannah's faces and if looks could kill the look Savannah was giving would have killed her.

Sam on the other hand had an unreadable face but he couldn't take his eyes off of neither Penelope or Hank and once the call ended Hotch said, "okay, you guys can relax that's all for now", Derek said, "what do you think is going to happen Hotch?", Hotch said, "I think that we will hear in a few days that they are guilty and will be facing the maximum which would be added together over 100 years".

Penelope said, "that would be great because that way we wouldn't have to worry about looking over our shoulders anymore", Hotch nodded his head and said, "I completely understand and here's hoping that we hear really quick", Derek said, "from your lips man, from your lips", around 1:45 the family all arrived and enjoyed a delicious meal that Fran had prepared and then after everybody took turns holding Hank.

Later that night Derek and Penelope were cuddled on her hospital bed, she would be released to go home tomorrow and Derek was layingthere with his arms wrapped lovingly around her, he kissed the top of her head and said, "tomorrow you and our son will be home", Penelope said, "and I can't wait to lay Hank in his crib, he's gonna love the room that his daddy, uncles and nonno worked hard to fix for him".

She then laid her head down on his chest and closed her eyes, it was only a few minutes before Derek closed his eyes and quickly joined his wife and son in sleep.
