To Recap: The Ed Boys trained the Cul-de-sac Kids in West Providence Area One, dubbed Bomb Fall Mountain.

[Cortondo - Patisserie Soapberry: The Ed Boys and Lincoln]
Upon walking the Cul-de-sac Kids to the Hotel Rooms to the Hotels, Lincoln decided to stay behind as he was still feeling a bit hyperactive. As Eddy refused, Double Dee sides with Lincoln and invites him for a Temporary amount of time though he doesn't recommend staying up.
Lincoln agrees to not to do anything stupid, unlike the many of the kids who have pet peeves.
Coming along to the tree with the arena, the Ed Boys and Lincoln decided to check it out. Ed was right; there were sweets located at the tree. It was a bakery, which made Lincoln feel uneasy.
"What's got your tongue?" Asked Eddy, wondering about Lincoln.
"It's best not to remind him of the past, Eddy… Considering it's not worth making a Neutral Cul-de-sac Kid like Lincoln go against us because of careless behavior…" Double Dee explained.
"No no… It's okay, Double Dee." Lincoln sighed. "At least now I don't have to keep vouching for a family owned restaurant…"
"How about we share this one?!" Ed pointed to a Gelatin Cake with Jawbreakers, about 4 of them per kid.
"JAWBREAKERS!" The Ed Boys cheered with drooling mouths.
The Cashier looked at the Ed Boys and saw that they're the ones that his Baker made them for.
After realizing the potential in these Ed Boys after Nemona went up to check up on Katy (The Baker), Katy hoped the day she meets the Ed Boys, especially the boy who was made for eating, Ed. Though, accidentally, the Fourth one was added, because it might feel awkward to slice the Gelatin in thirds.
After buying the Jelly Cake, the Ed Boys and Lincoln went up to the Third Floor and consumed the Jawbreaker, though they did give some to their Pokémon. The Four Boys were enjoying their Jawbreakers, letting them melt in their mouths. For Lincoln, it was a whole different level of understatement as when he noticed these Jawbreakers have accents of the tarty acidity and deep sweetness with the white chalky sugar mending colors together.
Pouncy, Louis and Marin were watching over the Ed Boys and the Arena.
"(Well, ladies! I believe it's about the time gets in the Arena!)" Louis cheered.
"(Any Louder?!)" Pouncy hissed at Louis.
"(Don't listen to her, Louis.)" Said Marin.
"(Daw, I know she means well!)" Said Louis with a smile. "(Ain't that right, Sugar Leaf?!)"
"(Ugh! I REALLY hate plant calls…)" Pouncy groaned.
"(Do you?)" Asked Marin.
"(Hang in there! I got more!)" Louis smiled. "(Are you the sugar? Because you're the sweetness of my life! You spice my life like Peppers! You and I are meant to be like Peppermint!)"
"((CAT MEOW) STOP!)" Pouncy hissed as she looked away.
"(You know Pouncy, as a girl, those were some sweet Plant Pick-ups. I can tell you're fluttered.)" Said Marin with a teasing smile.
"(Huh?)" Asked Pouncy.
"(You're tail's wagging, señorita!)" Louis pointed out.
Pouncy looked at her tail as she hid behind Double Dee out of embarrassment, while Louis and Marin chuckled.
Double Dee pat Pouncy as the Pokémon could see that their Jawbreakers were eaten. Pouncy purrs under Double Dee's gentle hands.
"Awww, Pouncy. Are you trying to hide your happy tail again?" Double Dee smiled. "There's no need to hide it."
Ed gets up and hugs Louis. "Still keeping the attitude on a Warming Fire, huh, Louis?!"
Louis smiled as he hugged back, making deep alligator noises like a laser.
Eddy looked at Marin. "Any passions you're chasing after, you know…?"
Marin rubbed Eddy's hair, messing it up. She then giggled.
"Very funny, girl…" Eddy sighed as he fixed his hair, then earned a peck on the cheek by his Quaxwell. Not a painful peck, this was more like a kiss. Eddy blushed red like a tomato, like if this was his daughter. "Heheh… Thanks, Marin."
Lincoln smiled as all of these trainers have excellent bonding with their Pokémon. He's thankful for his own adventure and his own Pokémon, reminding him of every good memory he had with a few of his close friends and family… each one fading away. Though Lincoln didn't mope, he decided to keep the smiling face of Melancholic Happiness.
"Well, you were right, guys!" Lincoln smiled. "Jawbreakers are good, from anywhere!"
"Well yeah, that's what our business is, Linky-Boy!" Eddy replied with a proud smile.
"Our numbers are on the card!" Ed smiled.
Lincoln smiled as he looked into his phone. "Okay, so the next Gym Leader is Katy, and she's the Gym Leader of Cortondo… What Pokémon do you think she uses?"
"I'm not sure, but I can't hear anything with these freaking Smolivs…" said Eddy looking above the umbrella shade to see the shadow of two Smoliv.
"I'm more intrigued by the sounds of that Nymble over there…" Double Dee looked over at the Nymble walking behind a boy as he explored Cortondo.
Nymble was a gray, oblong, insectoid Pokémon resembling a grasshopper, with dark gray colorations on its face, back, and legs. Its head had two stubby semicircular antennae, a circle on its snout resembling a mouth or nose, and yellow compound eyes shaped like rounded crosses, complete with cross-shaped black pupils.
Ed pointed his Pokédex to that Nymble.
"Nymble, the Grasshopper Pokémon. A Bug Type. It has its third set of legs folded up. When it's in a tough spot, this Pokémon jumps over 30 feet using the strength of its legs. It's highly skilled at a fighting style in which it uses its jumping capabilities to dodge incoming attacks while also dealing damage to opponents."
"I'm just glad we get to see ours jump!" Ed smiled.
"I'm pretty sure that's what they do, Ed." Double Dee explained.
"I think he meant when Marie battled one and caught one back in Bomb Fall Mountain." Said Lincoln. "Those Black Bars that are its legs, make him fly like a Superhero Assassin or something Epic!"
"Well, if those are legs rolled up, I'll take your word for it." Said Double Dee with a smile.
"I'm wondering who feeds that Heracross by that guy's Oil Truck." Eddy pointed at an Oil Truck with a Guy who has a Heracross doing pushups like absolutely nothing.
Heracross is a large, blue, winged bipedal beetle-like Pokémon. It has a capsule-shaped thorax, a pair of yellow eyes and two clawed arms and feet. Growing from its head is a large T-shaped horn, which is flanked on either side by a smaller antenna.
"Heracross, the Single Horn Pokémon. A Bug/Flying Type. It loves sweet nectar. To keep all the nectar to itself, it hurls rivals away with its prized horn. With its herculean powers, it can easily throw around an object that is 100 times its own weight."
The Oil Truck Guy who was working on the truck, when suddenly the Jack Stands Broke, as Heracross simply pulled the truck up with his horns, getting his owner out with his claws.
"Thanks, Heracross!" The Oil Guy smiled as he patted his Bug Pokémon.
The Four Boys were shocked at the Pokémon's Brute Strength.
"I gotta get me a Bug like that…" Eddy commented.
"Double Dee, did you release Gypsy?" Asked Ed.
"No… … Why…?" Double Dee checked his Pockets. "No, I have her, right here."
"Where'd you find some?" asked Eddy.
"Gypsy's right over there." Ed pointed at a Vivillon at the Bottom of the Second Floor Dining Area.
"Why that's another Vivillon!" Double Dee was impressed.
Vivillon was a butterfly-like Pokémon with wings that came in a large variety of patterns. It had a round, grayish head with large, black, pixelated eyes and a pair of skinny antennae. The tips of the antennae each have an ovoid scale that was dark gray on the upper half and beige on the lower half. Vivillon's thorax was an ovoid and divided into three segments; each segment was a different shade of gray. Its legs were also ovoid and were dark gray on the lower half, beige on the upper half, and had a black band in the middle. It had two black, circular hands and no visible arms.
Double Dee scanned the Vivillon.
"Vivillon, the Scale Pokémon. A Bug/Flying Type. Fancy Form: The patterns on this Pokémon depend on the climate and topography of the land it was born in. This form is from a mysterious land it was born in. It scatters colorful, toxic scales from its wings during battle."
"Well, I must agree that it is always welcomed to have such a magnificent Pokémon!" Double Dee smiled.
"And I saw some Tarountulas right there by that girl!" Lincoln pointed down at a girl.
"And so begins the process of elimination…" Double Dee applied PokéMath (Pokemon Mathematics). "We have a Smoliv, a Heracross, a Nymble, some Vivillon, and Two Tarountula… There's One Grass Type and Four Bug Pokémon, each with a Unique Style or Typing Combination. So chances are that we are currently dealing with a Bug Gym Leader."
"Well that settles it! First thing tomorrow, let's prepare our Pokémon to squish some Bugs!" Eddy smirked.
"Well, defeat." Lincoln corrected. "But I get your pun."
"Well, let's head back to sleep." Double Dee ordered.

[The Next Morning…]
After a brief time sleeping in the Hotels, the Ed Boys woke up and decided to do the Challenge without the Cul-de-sac Kids as they headed into a Gym Facility and entered.
Inside they find Nemona.
"Oh, hey, Ed Boys!" Nemona ran up to the Ed Boys. "Came to see this Gym, huh? That can only mean one thing... You're out to earn some Gym Badges and take on the Pokémon League, aren't you?!"
"You bet your sweet bippy we are!" Ed smiled with confidence!
"I'm also here to challenge it as well!" Eddy cheered along Ed.
"And so am I!" Double Dee followed up.
"Yesss! I knew it! I'm so glad I asked you to do it!" Nemona smiled so gleefully.
"Not without us…" Said a Familiar Voice from behind the Ed Boys were a group of 5 angry Cul-de-sac Kids and a Sleepy Lincoln.
"Oh, challengers?!" Nemona was shocked.
Eddy groaned. "Nemona, meet the kids from the Cul-de-sac…"
"Are you here to challenge the gym as well?" Asked Nemona.
"No… I'm just here to see what an office is…" Kevin spoke sarcastically.
"Yeah, sure you're not! Just came to the Gym for some sight-seeing, right?" Nemona chuckled. "Hah! You fibber!"
"This thing can actually detect Sarcasm…" Jonny smiled looking at Nemona.
"She who jumps around like a monkey with a broken arm is the one the Smart Brain Ed Boy claims is the Strongest Ally?" Asked Rolf, who made Nemona intrigued by Jonny and Rolf.
"Nice to meet you, I'm Nazz!" Nazz smiled as she began introducing her friends. "Those two are Rolf and Jonny. The dude with the cap is Kevin. That's Marie and… Lincoln."
"Hey…" Lincoln greeted Nemona despite his sleepiness… "This Energy Soda should be working in 3 minutes…"
"Well, before you can battle the Gym Leader, you've gotta pass a certain challenge set by them - their Gym Test." Nemona stated the rules.
"I thought we got out of the Paper Exams already…" Kevin groaned.
"But every Gym's test is different." Nemona stated the contrary. "If you ask the lobby staff about it, they'll tell you what's up!"
"Well, there's that." Said Lincoln, awakened to some degree.
"Here, have these! When you use 'em, consider it me healing up your Pokémon!" Nemona smiled as she handed the Ed Boys a Super Potion, each. "They're Super Potions, they work even better than regular Potions!"
"More than rare, on the Hunting Case…" Marie replied as she held up her Super Potion that she found off the ground.
"Even so, Nemona, I'm sure we'll be aiming at the top, even when playing at Standard Pokémon League Policies within this Event!" Double Dee smiled at Nemona.
"Ahhh, I'm so glad you're aiming to be a Champion, too! This is the best news ever! Man, I'm so excited, I can barely stand still…" Nemona shrieked with excitement!
"Gee, and I thought Nazz was more Cheery…" Jonny was surprised.
"Guess I'll just go battle every Trainer I run into!" Nemona started running outside, until her bad arm got caught by Rolf, she was about to shriek of happiness but the pain in her casted arm was going to transform that into a shriek of pain. The Ed Boys and the Cul-de-sac Kids winced at what Rolf was doing.
"Hold still, Plastic Tapeworm for Arm Aid Nemona Girl!" Rolf replied as he cracked Nemona's arms starting from the knuckles to the wrist bones and then her spinal bones and neck bones, much against Nemona's will. Until Nemona started to huff and puff out of intense pain in her arm, which could suddenly move slightly better without Arm Medicine!
"My… my arm!" Nemona was shocked as she suddenly tackled, hugged and cuddled with Rolf! "GRACIAS! MUCHAS GRACIAS!"
"Of course, it was a simple remedy of the Old Country Sages that cannot be solved by simple Urban Life of this world or the Country of Peach Creek!" Rolf spoke pridefully.
"They're called Chiropractors, Rolf." Marie corrected, earning some silence from Rolf.

"... … Those words are forbidden…" Rolf simply spoke.
"Well, I hope to see you again!" Nemona smiled as she got off Rolf.
"Well, the next time Rolf sees Feeble Arm Nemona Girl, come visit Rolf for he knows the way of the Bone Aching Cures!" Rolf smiled.
"Gee, Plank…" Jonny whispered to Plank. "I haven't seen Rolf this emotionally accepting since the Urban Rangers and the cultures he had with us on Holidays… (Listening to Plank) Rolf is Italian? I don't see that anywhere in him… I'd say he's more German with a hint of Mexican…"
"Hasta la Vista, Nemona! Cuidate! Ed waved.
"Hasta luego, Ed!" Nemona waved with her somewhat restored arm as she felt excited to Battle against the Pokémon Trainers in Oil Hills one more time as well as Bomb Fall Mountain.
Kevin and the Cul-de-sac Kids stared at Ed.
"Did Ed speak in Spanish?" Nazz questioned Ed.
"It started as a Prank." Eddy confessed. "Then all of a sudden Lumpy somehow got an A Plus! Then he spoke Burrito on me, and even THAT COULDN'T HAVE GONE WORSE…"
"Well, tricking Ed was on a whole other level of demented minds of wrongdoing, it somehow stacked in Ed's favor for his interests and somehow peaked at its maximum potential… in Spanish Class…" Double Dee studied Ed as the last part even baffled him.
"Vamonos! We need to go!" Ed spoke as he talked to the Receptionist, who was a Dark Skinned Man in a Black Suit. "Hola!"
"Welcome to the Cortondo Gym!" The man spoke. Let me register the Challengers! … … I got the list as so; Ed, Eddward, Eddy, Kevin, Rolf, Nazz, Jonny (2x4), Marie Kanker and Lincoln Lord?"
"Your last name is Lord?" Kevin questioned Lincoln.
"It was the closest I could find with familiarity." Lincoln reasoned. "I don't see why the fandom would name you Kevin Barr, though…"
"A 2091riveraisreal Collab where Lincoln's parents are evil?" Ed was shocked.
"Let's not dive into that, shall we not?" Double Dee asked Ed as he faced the receptionist. "But yes, sir, that will be us."
"Great! Now in order to face Gym Leader Katy, you'll first need to pass the Gym Test." The receptionist assigned the group.
"Great, more paperwork…" Kevin groaned.
"Here at Cortondo Gym, that means taking on the Olive Roll!" The Receptionist announced with a TV Voice.
"Say what?" Asked Kevin.
"Olive Production is a Big Part of life in Cortondo." The Receptionist spoke, still in the TV Voice.
"I can tell by that Freaking Heracross lifting an Oil Truck…" Eddy sighed in Falsetto in pressured excitement of owning One Heracross.
"We've held the Olive Harvest Festival here each year for generations to usher in bumper crops!" The Receptionist continued in the TV Voice.
"So basically a Farmer's Market." Said Marie.
"To pass our Gym Test, you'll need to roll an Olive-Shaped Ball all the way to the Goal! Your efforts should help ensure we get a great Olive Harvest Next Year, too!" The Receptionist announced the rules.
"Oh yeah? Well, I'm great at playing ball!" Kevin cracked his knuckles with a confident smirk. "It'll be just like Football! They won't know that the Quarterback for the Peach Creek Cobblers will hit 'em right where they'll least expect it!"
"Right…" Eddy facepalmed as he groaned.
"I'll be there to cheer you on!" Nazz smiled as Kevin smiled at Nazz with confidence.
"Me too!" Ed smiled, with his eyes dilating as Kevin stared at Ed with a fearful look.
"The staffer over at the olive-rolling field will explain the rules to you in further detail. I'll register the location on your map app. It's just to the North of Town!" The Receptionist replied as the Rotom Phones registered the Location. "Now get out there and have fun!"

[Pre-Gym Test Cortondo: Ed Boys and the Cul-de-sac Crew]
Walking to the North of Town, Kevin devised a plot while the Crew walked.
"Alright, so we have our test! Honestly, it's gonna be more fun! But how do we find out about this Gym Leader, Katy?!" Asked Kevin.
"According to my calculations, devised last night, it appears that Katy might have a chance at being a Bug Type Specialist! Which would make sense considering the vast amount of Bug Types in Cortondo, aside from the Smoliv who are not Bugs." Double Dee gave analysis.
"So how do we break through?" Asked Jonny.
"Well, for starters, when my Nacli used Smack Down Attack, which is a Rock Move, it appears that the Nymble in the Mountain seems to be weak against it." Double Dee replied. "Any other conclusions?"
"Kirby, who is now a Staravia, would defeat Kricketot with ease with Wing Attack!" Nazz added.
"And Bonesaw GRILLS Combee with Ember!" Kevin replied with a realization.
[RING RING! RING RING! - (or Kung Fu Sayo Theme)]
Kevin quickly answered it. "Hello?"
"Hey, Kevin." Max replied.
"Max!" Kevin grinned at the voice and vision of his best friend.
"I have a Map of the Type of Gym Leader you're about to fight." Max replied as he pulled out a Cross-Table Chart. "According to this, Fire, Flying, and Rock Type Pokémon should be good enough to beat Katy."
"We drew that conclusion already, dude." Kevin replied.
"But wait! There's more…" said Max. "Beware when using Grass, Psychic and Dark Type Pokémon."
"What do you mean?" Asked Jonny.
"The Houndour, Drowzee, Smoliv and those in their category of Main Types are… toast…" Max replied, trying his best to elaborate, but then Nappycom, Nappy's Computer prints out the files. "According to Lincoln's Little Brother's Computer… Bug can eat Grass, Scare Psychic Pokémon and can infest Dark Pokémon. But can be smashed with Rock, pecked and blown away by Flying, and get grilled by Fire Type. But luckily for Kevin, his Tera Orb is all he needs…"
"Tera Orb…" Kevin pulls out his Tera Orb as the Crystal inside of it begins getting power by the Heart of Kevin's Spirit. "Best hope for Tera: Fire…"
"I wish you the best of luck, especially you, Kevin…" Max smiled.
"Thanks, dude. Stick around and watch me school Paldea about American Football!" Kevin replied with a reassuring smirk.
"Well, if that's alright with all of you." Said Max, to which the Cul-de-sac Crew agreed.
"Okay!" Kevin cracked his knuckles. "Peach Creek on 3! 1! 2! 3!"
"PEACH CREEK!" The Crew cheered.

The Cul-de-sac Crew arrived at the North Part of Town to where they got a Peek at the size of the Olive-Shaped Ball.
"You sure you can lug that thing, Kevin?" Asked Eddy.
"Big deal! I can carry that thing on my shoulders for days…" Kevin bragged.
"Bragging will get you nowhere, Kevin…" Lincoln advised. "Believe me, there's no good places to go with that pride…"
"Well, I'll give it a go…" said Kevin as he got inside the field and tried tackling the massive Olive-Shaped Ball!
"So that's what an Olive looks like." Jonny smiled as he winced seeing Kevin launched into the Home Base Basket! "Hey, Kev! Did that Olive just punted YOU back?!"
"Put a cork in it…" Kevin grumbled as he tried again but the ball only launched in the air, falling gradually slow. "Anytime now…"
The ball bounced up and down like an Air Ball.
Lincoln looked around as the Farmer Market began to unfold.
"Rolf has found Cortondo to be quite cultured!" Rolf smiled as he patted Lincoln on his back.
"You know a thing or two about Culture, Rolf?" Asked Lincoln.
"Agriculture?" Asked Rolf.
"Of course." Said Lincoln with an unamused look. "You want to take a look at the Farmer's Market with me?"
"Rolf's money and health couldn't be anymore blessed, Junk Foodie Repentance Lincoln Boy!" Rolf smiled as he and Lincoln went to the meat section.
"Liverwurst Loaf… Ick…" Lincoln cringed at the sight.
"Don't mind if I do!" Rolf paid for a slice as he quickly ate it. Lincoln stared at Rolf as Rolf stared back. "Sauerkraut and Peanut Butter gives you bad gas, He Without Knowledge Lincoln Boy!"
"I guess I got a LONG WAY to go…" Lincoln replied.

"Welcome to the Olive-Rolling Field!" The Staffer, who was a woman, spoke to the remainder of the Cul-de-sac Crew (Minus Jonny, Rolf, Lincoln and Marie). "This Gym Test is all about Stamina - you'll need to push with all you've got to get a large Olive Ball rolling and make it all the way to the end. Get the ball over obstacles, then push it into the goal to clear the course."
"Now you'll tell me…" Kevin replied as he was practically kicking the ball like soccer, balancing it on his leg. Nazz was surprised. "Nazz, it hardly weighs anything."
"Oh…" Nazz replied.
"Now that you're all filled in, are you ready to start the Gym Test?" The Staffer asked as the Crew agreed, even the ones who were far away from the staffer!
"LET'S GO!" Eddy cheered.
"Great! Put in a wish for a good olive harvest, and roll, roll, roll away!" the Staffer cheered.
"Oho! Rolf can assist with the harvest!" Rolf appeared with him and Lincoln holding a lot of inventory of Farmer Products like Lemon Snacks and Beef Jerky and other organic things like a Honey Brick.
The Staffer looked at Eddy.
"He actually can." Eddy replied.

Kevin began pushing the Olive Ball down the ramp as he began rolling it with his strength as Nazz cheered for Kevin, while Kevin grunted all the way, pushing the ball!
Just as a Trainer was approaching, Rolf took the challenge and battled with her.
"Go now, Kevin Boy! Rolf has She who smells like Raw Larvae on pins and needles like the class of the Double D Ed Boy!" Rolf loaded a Pokéball and summoned Lola who had evolved into a Flaffy as Kevin kept marching on with the Olive Ball!
After a couple of steps while rolling the ball, another trainer stepped up!
Ed got in the way. "Leave this Bug Warrior to me, Kevin! Louis will make Snacks soon!"
"Okay, dude…" Kevin grunted as he made it to the basket with more steps as he kicked the ball inside with the swarm of Smoliv on top of the goal cheering for Kevin! "Thank you! Thank you! It was nothing for the Quarterback of the Peach Creek Cobblers!"
Kevin flexed as the Farmers Market noticed this and cheered for Kevin, as Rolf and Ed celebrated as well.
Max was already happy for Kevin, as he watched the whole thing as if he got his first taste of American Football!
"That's my brother…" Max smiled.
[Gym Test: Take on the Olive Roll Challenge! PASSED!]

The Farmer's Market packed up and left feeling satisfied with the event.
"With that performance, I'm sure we can look forward to a great olive harvest next year! I'm happy to declare your Gym Test officially cleared, congratulations!" The staffer smiled. "Please report your result to the lobby staffer at the Gym. Good luck in your battle against Katy!"
The Cul-de-sac Crew cheered as they passed.
"But the fun's not over yet!" Eddy smiled with confidence. "We're gonna fight Katy!"
"Question is, who's gonna go first?" Asked Lincoln.
"It's Easy!" Eddy replied.
"Oh yeah?! Who?!" Kevin looked down on Eddy.
"It's Ed, of course… We really OWE ONE for our fans…" Eddy reasoned with Kevin.
"Oh… right…" Kevin reminded himself of that Fanfiction Era. "Well let's report back!"

"Okay, Ed…" Double Dee's hand shook as he sanitized himself, missing 3 sprays as he patted Ed's back. "Chin up… Stay strong… and k-keep your eye on the goal…"
The Receptionist announced in his TV Voice. "Are you ready to challenge Gym Leader Katy, the Sugarbug?"
Ed gulped. "Let's go…"
"Very well. Allow me to show you the battle court." The Receptionist announced, taking the Cul-de-sac Crew to the same Bakery Shop, with the same floor as when the Ed Boys and Lincoln ate.

[Cortondo Gym Stadium - Early Morning/Night]
Ed heard the people cheering for a battle… as his phone suddenly rang. Ed answered.
"ED!" Sarah's voice was heard.
"Baby sister…?!" Asked Ed, scared. "I DIDN'T DO IT SARAH!"
"You listen to me, Ed!" Sarah roared as Ed was unprepared for a scolding… "WIN! DO NOT LOSE THIS FIGHT!"
Ed loosened up as he was not prepared as he saw everyone in the Cul-de-sac, including the parents, Jimmy, Max, the two Kankers in America and a couple of selected students.
"Yeah!" Jimmy followed up. "Kevin told us who's fighting…! So don't give up…!"
Ed grinned as Ed marched into the Battlefield.
"Get em, Lumpy!" Eddy cheered.
"We believe in you, Ed!" Double Dee cheered.
"Get in there and win, Star Boy!" Nazz cheered with the other Cul-de-sac Kids cheering him on, as Ed faced Katy feeding a flying Vivillon.
Katy was a slightly plump woman with teal hair and brown eyes. She had a fair-skinned appearance. Befitting her secondary job as a pastry chef, she wore a chef uniform consisting of a light-gray blouse with a matching hat and gloves, a brown ascot, a matching long brown skirt and a waist apron of the same color of her skirt. She also had a spider web on her apron and wore brown tights and white shoes.
Her Bug type preference was reflected in the many antennas in her clothing and also her waist band giving the impression that she has a segmented body much like a real bug.
"Eat up, my cute little Vivillon!" Katy happily fed the Vivillon a treat as it flew away happily. She then looked at Ed and realized who Ed was. "Oh? What a lovely Trainer you are."
Ed looked at Katy, but as she said that quote, Ed blushed. "Thanks!"
"Thank you very much for your skillful olive rolling. It was quite impressive." Katy grinned as she gasped. "Oh? Did I forget to introduce myself? Forgive me. My name is Katy, and I am the owner here at Patisserie Soapberry. Oh? That's right, I'm not in my shop - I'm on duty as leader of the Cortondo Gym right now!"
"Thank you for the Jawbreaker Cake! It was delish!" Ed smiled.
"Jawbreaker Cake?!" Sarah was jealous.
"You didn't tell us you had something to eat!" Nazz scolded Double Dee and Eddy.
(Clapping, Drum and Crowd Sequence: We Will Rock You - Queen)
"Forgive me. Ahem. My name is Katy, and I am the Gym Leader here in Cortondo." Katy reintroduced herself. "My main line of work is crafting sweets as a pastry chef. Little sweets that bring happiness with just one bite, Bug-type Pokémon hiding in foliage... Both are small and yet very powerful."
"I got it mastered! Your Bug Pokémon won't win against me!" Ed smiled with confidence. "Be prepared for a Bug Zapping!"
"Don't let your guard down unless you would like to find yourself knocked off your feet!" Katy warned.
"THE FOLLOWING MATCH WILL BEGIN BETWEEN CORTONDO'S GYM LEADER; THE SUGARBUG, KATY! AND THE MISCHIEVOUS BULKING BRUTE FROM PEACH CREEK, ED!" The Official Referee, Guido, announced. "HERE'S THE RULES! THIS WILL BE A 3 ON 3 FIGHT! SWITCHING IS ALLOWED, BUT ONCE YOU HAVE SELECTED THREE DIFFERENT POKÉMON, YOUR OPTIONS ARE SEALED AND YOU SHALL NOT USE ANY SUBSTITUTES! ITEMS ARE ALLOWED BUT AT A MINIMUM OF 2; HELD ITEMS ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THIS RULE! ANYTHING GOES IN TERMS OF STRENGTH OF YOUR POKÉMON, BUT THE WINNER SHALL BE THE ONE WITH THE MOST KNOCKOUTS AGAINST THEIR OPPONENT! TRAINERS, SELECT YOUR POKÉMON!"
"I'll begin with Nymble!" Katy summoned her Nymble as it screeched.
"(Let's hop right to it!)" The Nymble hissed like a bug!
"What will Lumpy choose?" Asked Eddy.
"Hopefully not something too simple…" Jonny said, worriedly, but turned joyously. "This is gonna be a suspenseful battle!"
"This is already too much for my heart, Sarah…" Jimmy shivered.
"Hope he doesn't fight like an idiot…" Sarah replied to Jimmy.
"I choose… Toilet!" Ed summoned his Paldean Wooper to fight!
"(Who wants to slime?!)" Toilet leaped up and down ready to battle.
"(Hopping will always be better than your fish filth…)" Nymble commented.
"(Luckily locusts don't steal Olive Trees.)" Toilet felt offended and he retaliated with an insult.
"(What makes you think all bugs are the same?)" Asked Nymble.
"What is that thing?!" Asked Sarah, cringing at the Pokémon.
"It looks friendly." Jimmy smiled. "Reminds me of Toilets, Sarah!"
"Next time, remind me to clear your browsing data…" Sarah shook her head…

"Don't take my Bug-type Pokémon lightly. You will be in for a world of pain if you do!" Katy replied to Ed.
"Poison on Bug! We call that Exterminator Services in America!" Ed smirked with confidence.

"Trainers, Ready?!" Asked Guido as he brought down a chop. "Battle Begin!"
"Nymble, use Struggle Bug!" Katy ordered.
"Toilet, set it with Toxic Spikes!" Ed ordered.
"(Take this!)" Nymble shook himself as tiny bugs flew to Toilet, hurting him by a tiny bit as it did not hurt as much, but Toilet's Aura did flash Blue, signaling a Stat Drop.
"(I know what I'm doing… I'm sticking to the plan!)" Toilet grabbed some dust with his tail and tossed them into Katy's Side of the Battlefield!
"What was that, Ed?!" Sarah roared in confusion. "That didn't do anything?!"
"And furthermore, your Pokémon's Special Attack; meaning your blasting attacks won't be as strong!" Katy warned.
"I won't need Mud Shot, anyway!" Ed replied with a frown, earning a surprised look from Katy, but she reassured herself.
"Nymble, Struggle Bug, again!" Katy ordered.
"Toilet, one more layer of Toxic Spikes!" Ed ordered as Katy's adrenaline spiked up a bit as the same cycle as Turn 1 repeats, but this time, there were more Toxic Spikes!
"Ed, you better do something!" Sarah growled.
"Put a cork in it!" Eddy scolded Sarah. "He knows what he's doing!"
"Oh really, what is he doing?!" Asked Sarah with a smirk.
"See those purple spikes?" Asked Eddy. "Watch and learn."
"I see now that you've set your trap with your Wooper, Ed… But I won't let it stop me!" Katy thrusted her finger outward. "Nymble, Double Kick!"
"(Here I go!)" Nymble unloaded his Third Set of Legs from the rolled up position as he jumped up and sprang up, about to land on Toilet as he began falling.
"Now! Poison Tail! Batter up!" Ed smirked as he snapped his fingers, giving the exact time as his Poison/Ground Wooper's tail glows Purple and then Toilet leaped up and swung on Nymble who got struck by the Tail, and was launched back into the ground, taking massive damage!
"(That'll teach you a thing about Physical Attackers!)" Toilet frowned at Nymble, who sprung up and hiccupped Purple Bubbles out of his mouth, signaling Poison!
The crowd winced at the attack but then cheered!
"Of course!" Double Dee smiled. "Poison Control! Ed's fighting Bugs the old-fashioned way!"
"He did say exterminator service." Marie added.
"Tackle attack!" Ex ordered.
"Leap above, then Double Kick!" Katy retaliated.
"(RAH!)" Toilet charged with a Body Tackle, but as he did, Nymble jumped up, landed a kick, and was about to land the Second One!
"Mud Shot the air!" Ed answered.
Toilet looked behind him as Nymble was speeding down for another kick as Toilet turned around and spat some mud from his mouth onto Nymble, which didn't do much but did slow him down as a Stat Drop Aura flashed around Nymble!
"(Nice Try!)" Toilet frowned.
"Poison Tail!" Ed continued. Toilet striked again, smacking Nymble into more spikes until he fainted from poison, hiccuping his last Poison Bubbles.
"No! Nymble!" Katy was alerted of Ed's potential.
"Nymble is unable to battle, the winner of Round 1 goes to Wooper!" Guido announced, pointing his hand at Ed's side.
"(Let's go!)" Toilet leaped for joy!
"Nymble, return…" Katy withdrew her Nymble as she took out another Pokéball.

"There we go! Finally!" Sarah groaned as the Parents and Students cheered near the Monitor.
"It was a nice start!" Jonny smiled.
"Well, now, I'll keep going with… Tarountula!" Katy summoned her Tarountula!
"(Time to put thing on a wrap - URK!)" Tarountula stepped on a massive layer of Toxic Spikes and got badly poisoned!
"Huh?!" Sarah was surprised by the automatic poison.
"See? You see those Purple Spikes?" Asked Eddy. "The more he has, the more at 2, the field is as good as Ed's!"
"Talk about total control!" Nazz smiled.
"Rolf does not condone littering of spikes on the floor. But Rolf should try it to get rid of the flies away from Rolf's Cow and Chickens!" Rolf smiled. "Now, Rolf wonders if he should dip spiked weeds in Beet Juice…"
"Tarountula! Use Assurance!" Katy ordered!
"Block it with a Poison Tail, Toilet!" Ed ordered.
"(Take this, you slimeball!)" Tarountula charged as she attacked with her front legs!
"(As if it'll work on me again!)" Toilet turned his tail purple and smacked Tarountula with it as they both spun each other with the attack! Even though Tarountula took a lot of damage, Toilet fell down, dizzy from the spin and took a lot of damage! "(Oh my glob…)"
"(That was for… HIC!)" Tarountula hiccupped purple bubbles, but it was a regular sized poison level.
"Take it down with Assurance!" Katy ordered.
"Spray her with Mud Shot!" Ed ordered.
"(My last… shot!)" The Paldean Wooper splashed Mud all over Tarountula as a Blue Aura flashed around her, signaling a Stat Drop, before Toilet took an Assurance Attack! "(I tried…)"
Toilet flopped down to the ground, face flat…
"Wooper is unable to battle! The Winner of Round 2 goes to Tarountula!" Guido pointed his hand out to Katy's side.
"That's how it's just desserts." Katy replied.
"You were amazing, Toilet…" Ed sighed as he pets his Wooper and recalls him. Looking at Tarountula, he saw that Tarountula hiccuped more Purple Bubbles than usual. "The Toxins are working…"
"Lumpy has the Bugs on Pins and Needles, it's how he chooses who's next…" Eddy observed Ed's strategy.
"You mean those Spikes are in Ed's favor?!" Sarah was shocked.
"As long as the spikes are not on his field." Double Dee answered. "The spikes will only wear off when a Poison Type Pokémon steps on them… We'll see what Ed has in store…"
"Ed's already crushing it!" Nazz supported Ed.

"I know this may be Cheesy, but let's throw some Hamm! Let's Go!" Ed summons his Lechonk!
"(What do we have here?)" Asked Hamm, who looked at Tarountula.
"(This isn't Charlotte's Web where a Spider Girl perishes!)" Tarountula hissed at Hamm.
"(Funny, I know someone like you who doesn't let up like the actual Charlotte…)" Hamm scoffed.
"And now! Turning it up to the Max!" Suddenly wind blew from under Ed's Jacked as it suddenly became windy, revealing his Tera Orb!
"He's going to use his Tera Orb?!" Double Dee was surprised.
"What's he doing?!" Asked Kevin.
"Hamm! Let's go… TERASTALIZATION!" Ed gathered up some energy within his Spirit and channeled it into the Tera Orb, which it glowed, and then Ed popped it onto Hamm which encased him into a Tera Mound, which then broke to reveal a Tera Hat with a White Gem on top, with Hamm glowing White!
"I see that your Lechonk is Tera Type: Normal." Katy observed.
"And now, Hamm! Attack with Echoed Voice!" Ed pointed at Tarountula.
"(Stand down, insect!)" Hamm took a deep breath, gathering power from his crown hat, and blasting it at Tarountula, who took a major beating to KO!
"Oh my!" Katy was shocked.
"Tarountula is unable to Battle! The winner of Round 3 goes to Lechonk!" Guido pointed his hand at Ed's team!
The Ed Boys, the Cul-de-sac Kids, their Parents and the Students as well as the crowd cheered.
Katy recalled her Tarountula. "Oh? You're quite good, aren't you. How should I roll things out from here? I know! Let's end it with my last Pokémon! Come on out, sweet Teddiursa!"
Katy summoned her Last Pokémon who also got badly poisoned by the layers of Toxic Spikes.
Teddiursa was a somewhat chubby Pokémon whose anatomy strongly resembled that of a bear or a stuffed teddy. Her most prominent feature was the white crescent moon on her forehead, which was stated to glow at certain times.
Kevin took out his Pokédex App and scanned the Pokémon.
"Teddiursa, the Little Bear Pokémon. A Normal Type. This Pokémon discreetly follows Combee to find their hive. It scoops up big dollops of honey in its palms to eat. Its paws are soaked in oodles of honey. When nervous, Teddiursa will lick its paws and soon have a smile back on its face."
"(H-Hello?)" Teddiursa shyly waved at Lechonk who was already Terastalized.
"(Aren't you supposed to be scared of me?)" asked Hamm.
"(Why? I love Honey and Ham…)" Teddiursa licked her lips.
"Hey! That's not a Bug!" Eddy shouted.
"Something's not right…" Double Dee was puzzled.
"I thought we gave up the Surprise Pokémon feature since Pokémon Edventures of Unova and So On… What gives?!" Kevin asked the others.
"Now, my little Pokémon! Time to break free from your cocoon and come into your own!" Katy revealed her own Tera Orb.
"A TERA ORB?!" The Cul-de-sac Kids were shocked.
"Teddiursa… Let's go… TERASTALIZATION!" Katy collected some energy with her Orb and released it on her Teddiursa! Normally this was meant to be a Normal Tera Type… But instead of Jewel… It had a bug with large antennas on the Crown Hat!

The Crowd joins in a Melody and snare rolls that resembled war as they stomped and clapped their hands, closer to like We Will Rock You from Queen!
"That's right! My Teddiursa is a Tera: Bug! Keeping the theme of my Bug Type Team! For when you Terastalized your Pokémon with a Different Tera Type… They'll have the same properties as a Pokémon of a different type! The weaknesses! The resistances! All that matters are the moves they have!" Katy announced.
"ED!" Sarah yelled at her Older Brother. "DON'T YOU GIVE UP, MISTER! OR I'M TELLING MOM!"
Ed gasped. "SARAH?!"
"ED! YOU LUMMOX! DON'T GIVE UP!" Eddy cheered.
"DON'T SURRENDER INTO YOUR FEAR, ED!" Double Dee cheered.
"ED! ED! ED! ED!" Nazz and Jonny chanted as the Crowd suddenly reflected the chanting, rhythmically into the Final Pokémon Beat!
Ed suddenly gained confidence as he took back into position!
"Feast your eyes on my shining bug decoration! Though this one is not so sweet!" Katy revealed. "Teddiursa! Use Fury Cutter Attack!"
"(There will be Ham tonight!)" Teddiursa powered up with the power of her Jewel Hat as she elongated her claws and slashed Hamm with it!
"And just like Echoed Voice, Fury Cutter gains power per attack used again!" Katy replied.
"Then we shall go again! Hamm! Attack with Echoed Voice!" Ed punched the air!
"(TAKE THIS!)" Hamm took a deep breath, taking power from his Jewel Hat and blasting it onto Teddiursa! It was a lot more powerful than the one prior!
Teddiursa hiccupped purple bubbles, via poison!
Ed ordered another attack! "Hamm, use-"
"FURY CUTTER, NOW!" Katy quickly ordered.
"WHA…?!" Ed was shocked.
"(Dinnertime!)" Teddiursa used another Tera Boosted Fury Cutter, stronger than the last one and finished off Hamm, tearing into his Tera Form and breaking his Tera Power as shards flew everywhere!
"(Curse you… Omnivore…)" Hamm fell as he fainted while Teddiursa hiccuped a stronger wave of Purple Bubbles!
"Lechonk has fallen! This Terastalization Fight and Round 4 goes to Teddiursa!" Guido pointed his hand at Katy's side as Ed recalled his Pokémon.
"You did great, Hamm…" Ed whimpered as he was feeling the pressure…
"Just one more Pokémon and either one of us falls, but who will it be?" Katy asked Ed. "You've used your Tera Orb, and you can only use it once. Anybody else who might be next gets a Fury Cutter that's thrice as strong as the first one… Choose Wisely…"
Ed looked at his team as there were mixed chants for Katy and Ed… Everybody's chanting and cheering for their favorites louder and louder as the arena was shaking by the stomps and the eardrums were blazing from the clapping in crowd power… Ed was running out of options… Ed sighed as he loaded one more Pokéball…
"Here we go…" Ed summoned his last Pokémon. His Fletchling… Sorceress!
"A Flying Type Pokémon? Why that is bold of you, Ed…" Katy replied. "Let's see how well it can hold up to a stronger Fury Cutter… Teddiursa, charge again with Fury Cutter!"
"Sorceress! Peck!" Ed ordered.
"(No more of hurting my Owner's Heart…!)" Sorceress flew to Teddiursa with a Diving Peck!
"(This ends now…!)" Teddiursa striked again with a Tera Bug Powered 3rd Time Fury Cutter, tagging Sorceress with it, though it didn't save Teddiursa from getting pecked in the chest! But she did toss the Normal/Flying Type back to Eddy's side…

Sorceress got up and flew in the air, surviving on 1 HP…
Sorceress tweeted loudly as Teddiursa roared loudly with Terastalization! And the crowd cheers over who got the upperhand…!
Suddenly, Teddiursa hiccuped a big wave of Purple Bubbles…
She wobbled and wobbled, until she flopped onto her back, breaking her Crown Jewel Hat and destroying her Tera Form…

The crowd stood silent… as Teddiursa was defeated… and Sorceress was standing…
"Teddiursa has fallen! The winner of Round 5: The Final Round goes to Fletchling, which means the winner is Ed!" Guido pointed his hand to Ed as he and the Sorceress leaped for joy!

"WE DID IT!" Ed leaped for as he hugged Sorceress, kinda like Ed and Fletchling from Edventures in Kalos (Credits: Insane Dominator)!
Katy clasps her hands together in awe by Ed as the sun rises we've to dawn in the background. "All of my sweet little Pokémon dropped like flies!"

Katy blushed. "Congratulations! You passed! As proof of your victory against me - the Gym Leader - allow me to present you with this Gym Badge. I hope you'll enjoy it alongside a heaping serving of some of my deluxe handmade treats!"
"Oh yum!" Ed's mouth drooled.

Katy gave Ed a handful of cupcakes as Ed quickly ate them with a big sack in his belly, Katy smiling as she pets Ed.

Katy then faced Ed. "With 1 Gym Badge in your possession, Pokémon of up to Level 25 will be easier to catch and will listen to your commands as well."
Ed was still eating more cupcakes, seeming to can't get enough.
"I see you have quite the appetite as well! How about a little TM as the frosting on this cake?" Katy smiled as she gave Ed a Technical Machine. "Once you've found a TM during your travels, you can then use a TM Machine to make copies of that TM. You did know that, right?"
"The Technical Machine Maker? Yeah." Ed spoke with his mouth still chewing on the cupcakes.
"I wish you luck in your future adventures. May they be as sweet and lovely as a good dessert." Katy smiled. "Off you go, then. Until we meet again!"
"Hey, wait!" Eddy faced off against Katy. "We're not done until I get my badge AND my cupcakes!"
"Oh dear…" Katy was surprised. "Is there anyone else missing?"
Suddenly the Cul-de-sac Kids faced off against Katy, one by one.

For Double Dee, Kevin, Nazz and Jonny, all they had to do was Terastalize their Rock, Fire and Flying Pokémon and win. Double Dee used Nacli, Kevin used Houndour, Nazz used Staravia, and Jonny used Wingull.
For Eddy, all he had to do was juggle Charcadet and Makuhita.
For Rolf, it was almost an immediate Flaaffy sweep, but then Teddiursa got both Flaaffy and Diglett, so Rolf used Wiglett and won.
Marie had nearly the same results with Terastalized Spidops, but used Wattrel to finish off the job.
And then Lincoln had it the unluckiest… Though he did win. Pawmi and Chewtle weren't enough, so his Terastalized Yungoos saved the day with a Full 3 Mon sweep.

Everyone in the Cul-de-sac Crew was taking a break in the lobby as Ed had finished recovering his Pokémon.
It wasn't until Eddy got a call from Nemona.
"Hey hey, guys!" Nemona called.
"Hola Nemona!" the Ed Boys greeted.
"Just had to tell you - my Pokémon are learning some pretty cool new moves! Be ready!"
"Ooh goody…" Eddy said sarcastically…
"How'd it go at the Gym, by the way?" Asked Nemona.
"Pretty cool, we paid our debt with Ed." Said Eddy. "He won and we all got our badges after him!"
"Yesss! Hah haaa! - I mean, it was obvious you were gonna pass, but congrats!" Nemona exclaimed. "I'm so glad I encouraged you to take on Gyms. Nice job, past me!"
"Yeah… wonder where'd I be without you…" Eddy lied.
"I'm training hard too, by the way - day and night? Going all over the place to boot! Thank goodness we've got the map app. It helps a ton with figuring out where to go next - especially in a huge place like Paldea! After all, the path to getting stronger usually has some strange stops and detours!" Nemona rambled on.
"Uhuh, yeah…" Eddy continued.
"Hm, Speaking of going strange places, I wonder what Arven's up to…" Nemona wondered.
"OH MY! ARVEN!" Double Dee panicked.
"Anyway, catch you later! I hope you know I'm gonna want a battle if we run into each other!" Nemona clicked off.
[Beep… Beep… Beep…]
"What a Battle Animal…" Eddy groaned.
"You said something about Arven?" Asked Lincoln.
"Yeah… he's waiting for us… One could imagine his Vitamin Machine running out of fuel…" Double Dee worriedly explained. "Today, we'll head the other way from Mesagoza! Maybe then we'll find a Stony Cliff Titan!"
"We're not doing Anime Crossovers, Double Dee…" Ed explained.
"Well, do YOU have a name to call them Ed?" Double Dee asked.
"The Giants!" Ed exclaimed.
"Why did I even ask…?" Double Dee shook his head.
