"Thanks for the rescue, Master Yoda," Mace said, as the gunships lifted out of the arena.
"Mm!" Yoda replied, with a nod. "Sad it is, however, that so many Jedi have died."
"That's true," Obi-Wan admitted.
"Though… I have to wonder," Mace added. "Master Yoda, how long did it take you to pick up the Clones?"
"Hm!" Yoda said. "About four hours, to load them all, it took, after convinced them, I did. Why do you ask, hm? Further questions, you have?"
"A few," Mace admitted. "Because my strike team got here only about twenty minutes ago. We didn't have time to try and rescue Kenobi, Skywalker and Amidala before they went into the arena."
Yoda blinked.
"Hm…" he said. "Understand, I do not. Commander?"
The Clone Commander, CC-411, was wearing a helmet – but his body language displayed clear confusion.
"I'm not sure either, Sir," he said, pulling out a datapad, and began tapping on it.
Over the next few seconds, as the gunship swayed in the slipstream, he brought up a galactic map, showing the route from Coruscant to Kamino and then Geonosis, and the route from Coruscant directly to Geonosis.
Naturally, the second one was much quicker. Kamino was actually further from Coruscant than Geonosis to begin with, and the journey from one to the other was a noteworthy distance by itself.
CC-411 scribbled on the datapad, running a few basic calculations, then drew a question mark on it.
"You got me," he admitted. "By all accounts, it don't make sense."
"Maybe we should have gone with you to Kamino and then come straight to Geonosis," Mace muttered.
