Wendy's dorm room
"And remember honey, your brother is even more incompetent in householding than his father, and Igneel can burn water. So you have to take good care of him alright?" chirped the melodic voice of Grandine Dragneel over the phone. A muffled "oi!" was heard in the background.
Wendy giggled at the antics of her parents and replied "Don't worry Mama. I will. Love you and Papa!" and with that she hung her phone up.
It has now been one week since Natsu transferred to Fairy High, and even though he had dinner with her every night, Wendy felt that she didn't get enough time with her Nii-san.
Something glinted in her brown eyes, and Wendy decided to take matters in her own hands. Mama once told her that boys are stupid and that they sometimes needed more than just a small nudge in the right direction.
She grabbed the spare key Natsu gave her for his room and stood up. If even Mama told her that she needed to take care of her Nii-san, then that was what she had to do.
Skipping out of her dorm and over to Natsu's dorm, she unlocked the door and entered her brother's dorm.
Inside, there was a battlefield. Dirty clothes were scattered all over the ground, empty soda cans were stacked in a corner, right next to the pizza box tower. Wendy carefully stepped over all the garbage and took a look into the fridge. Inside she found a block of cheese where a big chunk was bitten off, an open can of tuna, three boxes of milk and, strangely enough, three socks.
She shook her head and closed the fridge again. A snort suddenly caught her attention. She looked towards the couch, and there she saw something that caused her heart to flutter. Dressed just in a pair of training shorts, her Nii-san was lying on the couch, sleeping soundly.
Now Wendy was torn on the inside. Should she take this opportunity and take a nap with her Nii-san, or should she do as Mama said and take care of Natsu?
Wendy tapped her index finger on her chin in deep thought. 'Hmmmmmm, Natsu-nii sleeps for about four hours after training and…' here she pulled a small booklet out of her pocket. The booklet was titled "Natsu-nii's daily routine" In it, she carefully wrote down the regular daily life of her Nii-san. 'Today is Wednesday and it is 3 pm. Meaning he finished his workout roughly an hour ago, which means he will wake up in about 3 hours because he becomes hungry.'
She took another look around the dorm, carefully calculating her next move. 'If I use every bit of skill Mama taught me, I can clean up here in about 45 minutes. Grocery shopping and preparing something for dinner would take another 45 minutes. That would leave me with 90 minutes of nap time with Natsu-nii.' she shrugged and said aloud "Better than nothing, thank god he sleeps like a corpse."
With that, Wendy went to work. She quickly and efficiently picked up and sorted the trash, then she cleaned the floor of all the dirty clothes and put it away for washing later. After that, she emptied the fridge, wrote a shopping list and went out.
30 minutes later, she re-entered the dorm and quickly stored away the groceries. Once more she was happy and thankful that her parents were really well off and thus gave her and Natsu a colossal allowance.
Quickly checking the time, Wendy took notice that she had about 30 minutes left of her self-appointed householding time. So she quickly went to work preparing her special curry. Actually, it is a rather normal curry recipe her mother taught her, but there is one twist in the recipe. It is extremely spicy. Natsu and his father Igneel love hot and spicy food, which caused Grandine to regularly cook spicy dishes, which led to her and Wendy also developing a taste for spicy foods.
Half an hour later, the curry was simmering away on the stove and Wendy gave a satisfied and happy huff and nod. The room of her Nii-san was now spotless, everything was organized and the food would be ready when Natsu woke up. So now it was time for Wendy to collect her reward.
With a happy smile she skipped to the couch, grabbed a blanket and carefully laid down on top of her beloved brother. She threw the blanket over both of them and curled up like an oversized cat. With a soft yawn she closed her eyes and quickly drifted into sleep.
Dreamscape
In her dreams, Wendy revisited some of her most treasured memories of her and Natsu-nii.
First meeting
Little seven year old Wendy was clutching the hand of her mother. Grandine Marvell had told Wendy that they would be meeting someone special today in Wendy's favorite ice-cream store. She told Wendy to be on her best behavior today, not that Wendy ever misbehaved but a little reminder never hurt anyone.
Because it was a special occasion, Wendy had to wear her best sunday dress, a yellow summer dress with little suns on it and cute pink sandals. Mama had also spent a good hour brushing Wendy's shoulder long hair before they got dressed.
Grandine on the other hand wore red high heels, a white skirt and an elegant looking blue blouse.
The two sat down and Wendy smiled at her mother. Grandine was really a beautiful Woman. She was roughly 1,70m tall, her bluish-white hair was normally done in a simple ponytail, like today. Her pink eyes were always shining with kindness, a kindness that was reflected in her personality. The most eye-catching thing about her was, sometimes to her own dismay, her body. Wide hips, a well endowed bust and an overall athletic, trim build.
Grandine was a highly intelligent woman, who became a fully fledged doctor at 21. Unfortunately for her, when she celebrated her graduation with her friends, she hooked up with some guy, who knocked her up and then was never heard of again. Meaning, Grandine became a mother at the tender age of 22. Oh, she never complained, Wendy was the best thing that happened to her, but still, sometimes she was a bit overstrained with handling everything alone.
Today, Grandine wanted Wendy to meet the man she was dating for the last few months. Igneel Dragneel, she met him at work, when she had to pull a bullet out of his arm. He was a professional bodyguard. When she asked him why he would work in such a dangerous field he replied "With this job I can make enough money to provide for my son." That sparked a conversation between the two, and Grandine found out that Igneel was also a single parent. It didn't take long and the two started to regularly meet up for a coffee or a drink.
Grandine found out that Igneel was an international martial arts champion, who met a seemingly nice woman after he won the title with 22 years. Said woman got pregnant two months later, but once she gave birth to hers and Igneel's son, she emptied Igneel's bank account, including the prize money Igneel won, and disappeared. Igneel was then left alone with no money and a baby. That's why he took a job as the bodyguard of Toma E. Fiore to be able to raise his son properly.
Grandine's heart melted when she heard that heartwarming story. Slowly but surely their regular meetups evolved into real dates, where Igneel would leave Natsu with Hisui (much to the little girl's delight) and Grandine would leave Wendy with her parents. Grandine and Igneel eventually fell in love and wanted to marry, but before they could tie the knot, there were two very important people from whom they needed to get approval from.
"Grandi!" called a deep voice. Wendy looked at the caller and saw a very tall man, about 1,95m tall, he was very muscular and had medium length red hair. His green eyes shined with joy and he wore a simple, but nice outfit. Her mother stood up a bit and waved to the man. Now Wendy was definitely curious. The man gave Grandine a quick hug and sat down.
But then another, smaller figure sat down next to the man. Wendy heard a muffled "Introduce yourself" and the boy grinned at the man. He looked at Wendy and her mother and said "Hello, my name is Natsu Dragneel and this is my dad Igneel. Nice to meet you!" He finished with a small bow. The man, seemingly called Igneel, patted Natsu softly on the head with a proud look in his eyes.
Unfortunately, Wendy was very shy. So she became scared of the unknown people and tried to hide her face in her mothers side. But Grandine nudged her firmly and said "Now now Wendy, when someone introduces themselves to you, what is the proper response?"
Not wanting to upset her Mama, Wendy took all of her courage together and said in a soft voice "I am Wendy Marvell and I like chocolate" she finished with an adorable smile. Igneel gave her a soft smile in return and said "Very nice to meet you Wendy, I am Igneel" "And my name is Grandine Natsu" added her mother.
The four ordered some ice cream and spent a bit of time getting to know each other. After they finished their treats, Igneel said in a serious tone "Natsu, remember how you asked me about you not having a mother?" Natsu nodded and Igneel continued "I have been seeing Grandine for a while now, and she would very much like to become your new mother. That means that you have to listen to her and you have to look after Wendy."
"Why do I have to look after Wendy?" asked Natsu, confused. Igneel laughed and replied "If Grandine becomes your mother, Wendy will become your sister. And as the big brother you have to look after your little sister, right?" Natsu's eyes sparkled at that and he nodded eagerly.
"What do you say Wendy?" asked Grandine "could you imagine Igneel being your new Papa and Natsu becoming your big brother?" Wendy tilted her head to the side cutely and said "Will Nii-san play with me when Mama is at work?"
It was Natsu who replied eagerly "Of course Wendy! We will play whatever you want!"
This caused Wendy to smile shyly and she then said "When can I play with Nii-san then?" and with that it was settled.
Igneel and Grandine first moved in with each other. The next two months were spent with all four of them getting to know each other. In these two months Wendy learned that Igneel was a joyful man that would often read her bedtime stories and that Natsu was goofy and funny. Natsu learned that Grandine was the best cook in the world and very loving, but she was strict if you did something wrong. Wendy on the other hand was the most adorable thing in the world and he would do everything to make her smile.
After two months, Igneel proposed to Grandine and a year later, the two got married. That was the start of the perfect family life for all four of them.
Natsu-nii to the rescue
It was a seemingly normal day for Wendy in elementary school. The Fairy elementary school was located at the most outer parts of the Fairy campus. It was a friendly looking building, with a baby blue paint job on the outer walls and many flowers in the yard.
The school would allow the children to play outside until their parents or siblings would pick them up at the end of the school day with a teacher overlooking them. And it was the same today. Wendy was playing a ball game with her best friends Sherria Blendy and Meredy Milkovich. Both girls were Wendy's age, Sherria had dark pink hair and blue eyes, while Meredy had bubble gum pink hair and dark pink eyes.
All three girls were wearing the normal elementary girl uniforms, meaning a pink skirt and a white shirt. They were happily throwing the ball they got from Selene-sensei around, laughed and had a great time. All too soon, Sherria was picked up by her older cousin Sherry, a very pretty teen with long pink hair who was already working as a waitress, and Meredy was picked up by her foster mother Ur, who had short purple hair.
So now Wendy was all alone on the yard, waiting for Natsu-nii to finish his training at the Dojo and pick her up. Natsu might be only two years older than her, but Igneel and Grandine trusted him in keeping his sister safe and bringing her home safely.
Hopefully, he would arrive on time. Because from the shadows of a nearby alley, a pair of black eyes carefully followed every movement of Wendy. This was a man that was commonly known as 'Mest'. He was a hitman and kidnapper. Today he had to do a mission for a complex plan. Abduct the daughter of Igneel Dragneel and blackmail him with her, so he doesn't focus on his job and another hitman can take care of Toma.
Mest waited until not too many children were left, and once the teacher turned away from the children for a moment, he sprung into action. Fast as lightning, he raced towards the school yard, grabbed Wendy with one arm and used his other hand to hold her mouth close.
The mission was easily done, if not for two problems. First, the second he grabbed Wendy, the little girl started thrashing around in panic like a racoon which made it harder for him to drag her away without her getting a scream out.
And second, Natsu was already in view of the school yard when Mest left the alley. At the second where the unknown man touched Wendy, Natsu broke into the fastest sprint of his life. He raced towards the man who was dragging his struggling sister away from the school and used every ounce of strength in his small body to throw a strong kick into the man's nether regions.
Mest felt a horrible pain in his balls and instinctively, his hands abandoned whatever they were doing and shot towards his injured manhood and he sank to his knees. That was a mistake, because now his target was away from him and he was small enough for Natsu to reach his face.
The pink-haired boy wasted no time, he screamed "WENDY! RUN TO YOUR TEACHER AND CALL THE POLICE!" before he started beating the man rapidly in the face. His overprotective brother instincts were in overdrive.
Wendy did what her Nii-san told her and ran to Selene-sensei. The normally kind, blonde haired teacher transformed into a beast once Wendy told her what happened. Immediately she shoved all of the kids into the school, locked the door and called the police on her phone. After the short call she ran towards Natsu, who was still beating Mest, and pulled the small boy off of the nearly unconscious man. Natsu might be still a small child, but he knew where he needed to punch someone in order to knock him out.
10 minutes later, Mest was shoved roughly into a police car by officer Gildarts Clive. Gildarts promised Selene that he would find out everything Mest knew. And with that he drove off. Selene then went and re-opened the school door and the children ran back out, eager to know what happened to the bad man.
All except for Wendy, who immediately ran to Natsu and engulfed him in a hug. "WAAAAAHHHHH NATSU-NII!"
Natsu returned the hug quickly and rubbed Wendy's back softly "shhhhhh Wendy. Everything is alright now, I am here and the bad man is with the police" "I-I was so scared Natsu-nii" sobbed Wendy.
"I know Wendy, but I came for you right? I will always come and save you" said Natsu gently.
Wendy mumbled softly "Thank you Nii-san. I love you" this caused Natsu to smile softly and say "love you too sis"
10 minutes later, Natsu and Wendy were picked up by a frantic Igneel who got called at work by Gildarts. Problem, Igneel was still supposed to work, but Toma understood the urgesness and simply went along, together with Hisui. So some of the children were in awe when a large limousine came to a screeching halt in front of the school and a sobbing man that was built like a superhero jumped out of the car. Igneel scooped up both of his kids and cried "You are safe! Thank God and the sun that you are safe!"
He then put his children into the back of the car and drove Toma and his daughter back home, but now he drove more carefully. On the way to the Fiore estate, Hisui and Wendy got to know each other and they really hit it off with each other. They went along so well, that their farewell sounded like this "Goodbye Wendy-chan, maybe you could also visit sometime" to which Wendy replied "I hope so too. Goodbye Hisui-neechan".
In the Dragneel-Marvell home, Natsu was praised to the heavens and back by his parents for protecting Wendy from a dangerous man. Grandine cooked a huge amount of Natsu's favorite food for dinner and Igneel played Natsu's favorite video game with his son for hours. Of course, Wendy was not forgotten. She was showered in love and affection by her Mama while the man played games and cuddled with her Papa while Grandine cooked.
In the evening, Wendy would not go to sleep, no matter what bargain her parents offered her. After an hour of arguing Grandine asked "Please Wendy, what do we have to do so that you go to sleep?"
Wendy, clutching the white stuffed Dragon Natsu gave her as a birthday present, replied "I want to sleep in Natsu-nii's bed!" "That's it?" Asked Igneel in disbelief. He slapped his forehead and mumbled "Next I would have offered her a car…" Grandine chuckled at her husband and turned to her son who was currently brushing his teeth. "What do you say Natsu? Can Wendy sleep with you tonight?"
Natsu shrugged and said "Sure no problem" which caused his whole family to smile widely, all for different reasons.
And that was the first of many times where Wendy slept closely and cuddled up to her Nii-san (although not every time with the knowledge of her parents).
First time getting asked out
Wendy was now twelve. She grew her hair longer (about hip-length) and her body started to develop some very noticeable curves. This of course caught the attention of her male classmates, who slowly but surely started to realize that girls didn't carry any diseases.
It was at the end of the spring holidays, shortly before the new school year started. The Fairy middle school was arranging a so-called "Cherry blossom ball", a school dance for their students and anyone they wanted to invite.
So it was no surprise that Wendy got numerous invitations once she and her yearmates went to school to help with the preparations as requested by the school. But to their dismay, Wendy refused all of them. She would go to the dance with Natsu-nii and no one else. The blue haired girl also knew that her parents would approve of that, and her Nii-san would never refuse her.
Today was the day before the dance. Wendy was currently braiding some floral wreaths for the decorations together with Sherria and Meredy. The three pretty girls were happily chatting with each other.
"So, with whom are you going to the dance?" asked Wendy her friends. "Yesterday Romeo asked me, so I'll go with him" replied Sherria. "I will go with Shô" said Meredy.
Romeo and Shô were two of the nicer boys from their class. Both were (more or less) polite and funny, meaning Sherria and Meredy were in for a very fun night. "What about you Wendy?" asked Sherria.
Wendy shook her head and replied "Natsu-nii will come back sometime today then I'll ask him" she swooned a bit at the thought of dancing with her Nii-san. Her friends both thought it was very romantic that Wendy wanted to go with her brother to the ball (they are twelve year old girls alright?). However, while it was mostly common knowledge in the class that Wendy regarded any boy that wasn't her brother with disdain, there was one boy who seemingly didn't get that memo.
His name was Haku. He had some kind of weird obsession with plushies and Voodoo, he always carried plush voodoo dolls of people he didn't like around. Sometimes he was seen mumbling to himself about things nobody understood. Also, he was obsessed with Wendy. Since the ball was announced, he asked Wendy at least three times each day to go to the ball with him, and he just wouldn't take the hint that Wendy wasn't interested in a guy that spent all of his time making plushies and who was walking around dressed like a tiger all the time.
Today was no different. Wendy was just leaving school, wanting to head home. She didn't know when exactly Natsu would come home, but she knew that Mama would be cooking her special curry today to welcome him home and she wanted to help her.
But just before Wendy could leave the school ground, she was stopped by someone grabbing her wrist. She turned around and saw that it was Haku. "What do you want Haku?" asked Wendy slightly annoyed "I told you countless times that I don't want to go to the ball with you"
"But Weeeeendyyyyy~" said/whined Haku "I wuv you. Please go to the ball with me"
Wendy sighed and pressed a finger to her forehead. 'Just today. Tomorrow is the ball and then he will finally leave me alone' "I. Don't. Want. To. Go. To. The. Ball. With. You. Haku!" said Wendy loud and clear. "Now please leave me alone!" she turned around and wanted to walk away, but Haku had other plans.
He jumped in front of Wendy and yelled "NO! I WANT THAT YOU GO TO THE BALL WITH ME WENDY! I WUV YOU AND YOU MUST GO WITH ME!" While he said this he grabbed Wendy's shoulders and started to grip her hard. Wendy winced in pain "Haku, you are hurting me. Let go!" "NO!" screamed Haku. "YOU BELONG TO ME NOW WENDY!"
Before the situation could escalate further, Haku was suddenly picked up by the back of his shirt. An icy cold voice asked "Who the fuck are you you punk and why are you grabbing my sister like that?"
"NATSU-NII!" yelled Wendy happily. She quickly ran behind Natsu and grabbed his shirt. "Hey Wen. Who is this little shit?" asked Natsu, not taking his eyes off Haku. "One of my classmates who doesn't know the meaning of the word 'no'".
"I see…" mumbled Natsu. He effortlessly lifted the struggling Haku to his eye level and hissed "stay away from Wendy unless you want a major ass whooping kid, capiche?" and with that he let Haku drop to his ass.
But Haku was an idiot. He quickly crouched into a pounce like stance and growled out "no, you stay away from MY Wendy you big meanie. I am a Tiger and will now scratch you Rawr!"
He then jumped towards Natsu with his hands raised, but the pink haired 14 year old simply picked Wendy up and spun out of the way. "Why is everyone so fucking obsessed with Tigers? Dragons are way cooler anyway" mumbled Natsu.
It took a few minutes, but one of the teachers, Ikaruga-sensei, quickly took control of the situation. She forbade Haku from visiting the ball and called his parents to pick him up from school. Along with an apology to Wendy, Haku's parents promised to take him to a mental hospital in order to get him thoroughly checked.
On the way home, Wendy remembered her most important mission for that day. "Natsu-nii" she called to her brother who was holding her hand. "Hm?" grumbled Natsu back with a grin. "Will you be my date for the ball tomorrow?" asked Wendy with sparkling eyes and a wide smile.
Natsu knew about the ball of course. Since he called Wendy every night, he was optimally informed about Wendy's life. "Sure Wendy, I'm sure it will be fun" answered Natsu with his patented grin. This caused Wendy to blush brightly and her heart to beat faster. She jumped up and wrapped herself around Natsu in a bear hug. "Thank you Natsu-nii, you are the best!"
The ball was one of the best nights of Wendy's life. She wore a royal blue dress which was a good fit to Natsu's black suit. Igneel and Grandine fully approve of Natsu and Wendy going to the dance together. I mean, who would be better for Wendy's first date than her brother?
Present day
Natsu's eyes stirred open. Immediately he felt an unfamiliar weight on his chest. Looking down, he saw a head of blue hair. Slowly waking up fully, he craned his neck and saw the adorable sleeping face of his sister there, just like he knew it. She was softly sucking on her thumb, something she did whenever she wasn't holding her white dragon plushie.
Natsu chuckled and stretched a bit, careful to not wake his sister. He looked around in his dorm and realized that it was spotless clean. He also noticed a delicious spicy scent lingering in the air. Looking back at Wendy, he softly said "you really are the best sister in the world" and gave Wendy a soft kiss to the head, which caused the girl to smile in her sleep.
Carefully, Natsu lifted Wendy off of him and gently laid her down on the couch. He went to the bathroom to relieve himself and then he pulled on a shirt. Walking to the fridge for a drink, he suddenly yelled in shock "OI! WHERE'S MY CHEESE?"
This caused Wendy to jump awake in shock. She looked around and then her eyes fell on Natsu. "Hello Natsu-nii, I hope you slept well. Are you hungry?" Natsu's stomach rumbled in reply, which caused Wendy to chuckle. "Then set the table and we can eat, I made curry!" She stood up and went to the stove with a happy humm. "Oh and I put your cheese in a box. It is on the top shelf of the fridge."
This caused Natsu to sigh in relief. "Thank you Wendy. And thanks a lot for cleaning and cooking. You are the best sister ever!" Wendy chuckled and said "And you better not forget it. Now let's eat!"
Nighttime
Soft padding was heard and with a quiet groan, the door to Natsu's dorm opened. Through the gap, Wendy slipped into the dorm once more, but this time she was dressed in only a blue shirt that was way too large for her. It was one of Natsu's shirts, which she took with her a few days earlier when she helped Natsu do his laundry. In Wendy's eyes, it was just payment for her. The shirt smelled like Natsu-nii and that was all Wendy needed to sleep like a rock.
And normally that would be enough for her (for now) but today, she felt that she was robbed off her rightfully earned reward (sleeping next to Natsu), so she would claim her prize one way or another. The nap with Natsu in the afternoon reminded Wendy of how nice it was to sleep cuddled up next to her brother, and now she wanted more.
Her beloved white dragon plushie was clutched in her hand when she expertly snuck under the covers of Natsu's bed. Sighing contently, she inhaled the scent of her brother and waited for his reflexes to kick in.
It didn't take long and soon, exactly what Wendy was waiting for happened. Natsu's arm snaked around her and pulled her close to his side, which caused Wendy to quietly squeal happily. It was also a good thing that Natsu was quite forgetful and dense, so in the morning she could simply tell him that she was tired last night and that he agreed to let her sleep over.
And here we have the next one.
Little Wendy really loves her brother. Before anyone claims that the way I wrote some of the other characters in this chapter are unrealistic, always remember, there are all kinds of scum in this world, so I think that people like Natsu's biological mother are out there. As well as people who take their "Fursona" way too seriously

Oh, in case it wasn't obvious, the next few chapters will all center around one of the girls and their interactions with Natsu.
