A/N: I don't really have much to say. Except, this is the second filler chapter between the first day at West Valley High and the Halloween dance. And there might be one more depending on what happens in this chapter.
Disclaimer: I don't own the Karate Kid movies, Cobra Kai or anything else that I might reference.
The Deep End
Miguel had no idea what he, Jason and Claire were doing at the deep end of the pool belonging to West Valley High.
But he did know that it was Sensei's idea.
"Don't worry about it. I'm buddies with the night janitor." Sensei had said.
Miguel wasn't sure if that was true but he didn't say anything.
He looked at Sensei. "So, what do we do now, Sensei?"
"Line up." Sensei replies.
Miguel, Jason and Claire line up.
Jason looks a bit confused. "We're lined up. Now what?"
"This." Sensei put a zip tie around Jason's hands and pushed him into the pool.
Miguel looks shocked. "What the hell, Sensei?! Should we help him?"
"Hold on, Diaz." Sensei answers.
Miguel watches as Jason manages to surface again.
He lets out a sigh of relief. "That could have gone really badly."
"But it's a good thing that it didn't, Diaz. Because you're next." Sensei puts zip ties around Miguel's hands and pushes him into the pool.
It takes a little longer for Miguel to reach the surface of the water, but he manages it.
Sensei is about to say something when a light starts shining down on them.
They hear a voice. "Hello? Is someone there? You better get out of here now, or I'm calling the cops!"
"Oh, shit. We've got to go. Brown, help me get Kreese and Diaz out of the pool." Sensei orders.
Claire grabs Jason and pulls him out of the pool and Sensei grabs Miguel and pulls him out.
They run out of the building to Sensei's car.
Sensei unlocks the door and Miguel gets into the front passenger seat while Jason and Claire get in the back.
He turns the radio on as soon as he starts the car.
Jason, Miguel and Claire had left their belongings in Sensei's office because they didn't want to get them wet.
Plus, it wasn't as if someone would break into the dojo.
Because Sensei had locked it.
The drive from West Valley High back to the dojo doesn't take very long at all.
….
Sensei parked the Pontiac Firebird near where Claire had parked her Volkswagen Beetle. Jason's Dodge Viper was parked near the entrance to the dojo.
Jason, Miguel and Claire get out of the car at the same time as Sensei does.
They watch as Sensei unlocks the door of the dojo.
Jason and Miguel rush in to get dry and change clothes.
"Well, that was different." Claire remarks as she walks to Sensei's office.
Sensei opens the door to his office and steps inside.
He takes a Coors Banquet from the fridge and sits down. "I didn't want you all to get too comfortable. I put your belongings and all that stuff on my desk, so feel free to just grab it."
"Sure." Claire grabs her wallet, phone and keys.
Sensei opens his beer and takes a big gulp of it. "It's probably none of my business and Bobby will just ask you himself, but…."
"Am I seeing someone?" Claire asks.
Sensei nods. "If you want to put it like that. Sure."
"I'm not. Dad said that he wouldn't mind if I was dating someone when it came up in conversation." Claire remarks.
Sensei nods. "Right. I saw the way you and Kreese were looking at each other when we were driving back. I think you two like each other."
"Yeah. Kind of. We're good friends. And I don't want to ruin that." Claire says.
Sensei finishes his beer. "I know. But you'll never know unless you take the leap."
"Are you saying that Jason and I should just go for it?" Claire wonders aloud.
Sensei frowns slightly. "It depends on what you mean by "going for it." Just be careful, alright? Bobby would probably kill me if I gave you bad advice."
"I'll be careful." Claire says.
Sensei grabs another Coors Banquet from the fridge. "You're like family to me. So, I don't want to see you get hurt."
"I know." Claire says.
They keep talking until Jason and Miguel walk into the room.
Sensei smiles at them. "Kreese! Diaz! You finally got dry!"
"We got dry, Sensei. I don't think we're going to be able to make anymore late-night visits to West Valley High's pool, though." Miguel takes his wallet and phone and puts them in his pockets.
Jason takes his wallet, phone and keys before putting them in his pockets.
Sensei has an idea. "Maybe we won't have to make late night visits to West Valley High's pool anymore. I might have an in at a country club in Encino. So, you guys can train there as well."
Jason's eyes widen. "You have an in at a country club, Sensei? Really?"
"Of course, I do. Why would I say otherwise?" Sensei retorts.
Jason considers this. "Forget I said anything, Sensei."
"I think that's enough for today. You did good. See you all on Monday." Sensei says.
Jason, Miguel and Claire leave Sensei's office.
They walk back through the dojo and close the door behind them.
Miguel gets on his bike and pedals away.
Claire gets in her Volkswagen Beetle and drives off.
Jason waits a bit before getting into the Dodge Viper and driving off.
Being pushed into the pool wasn't something that he was expecting.
But it didn't go too badly, all things considered.
He turns up the radio and drives back to his house.
….
Jason had gotten a good night's sleep, so he woke up feeling refreshed.
Today was Saturday.
Which meant that he could basically do whatever he wanted.
He grabbed two towels and went into the bathroom.
He re-emerged from the bathroom after his shower about thirty to forty-five minutes later.
Jason had one towel around his waist and another towel around his shoulders.
He dried himself and got dressed.
Jason put on boxer shorts, blue jeans, a Bathory t-shirt, a leather belt, a denim jacket and black socks.
He grabbed his wallet, phone and keys before walking downstairs.
Jason was about to grab a box of cereal and a bowl when his phone rang.
He answered the phone and was a little surprised to hear Eli's voice.
"Hey, Jason. You want to hang out with Demetri and me?" Eli asks.
Jason shrugs. "Sure. Is Claire going to be there?"
"She's got a family thing. So, she's not going to be there. You know where my house is, right?" Eli answers.
Jason nods. "I know where your house is. I was there a couple times during the summer. And I've met your parents."
"Oh. Well, you should probably be able to find it pretty easily. See you soon." Eli hangs up.
Jason walks to the front door of the house and opens it after putting on black shoes.
He closes the door behind him and walks over to the Dodge Viper.
Jason unlocks it and gets in the driver's seat.
He turns on the radio as he starts the car.
The drive from his house to Eli's doesn't take too long.
….
Jason parks the Dodge Viper in front of Eli's house.
He gets out of the car and walks to the door of the house after unlocking it.
Jason knocks on the door and takes a step back.
He stands on the step and waits.
But the door does open.
"Jason! It's so good to see you again. Eli and Demetri are in the basement." Eli's mom, Beth, opened the door.
Jason walks through the door as Beth takes a couple of steps back.
He smiles. "Thanks, Mrs Moskowitz."
Jason walks down the stairs to the basement of the house.
When he gets there, he sees Eli and Demetri watching Doctor Who.
"Hey, Jason." Eli moves up the sofa to make room for him.
This causes Demetri to also move up the sofa.
Jason sits down. "Hey, guys. Have you been here long?"
"We weren't here that long. In fact, you arrived at the right moment." Demetri replies.
Jason looks confused. "What moment is that?"
"This one!" Demetri points at the TV.
Jason rolls his eyes. "Fine. Don't tell me."
"How's the karate going?" Eli asks.
Jason smiles. "It's going pretty well. Miguel and Claire have both really improved from where they started from. Sensei and his methods might be tough, but he makes us tough."
"That's good. So…" Eli starts.
Demetri interjects. "It sounds like you've been brainwashed."
"I haven't been brainwashed. You'd understand if you went to the dojo." Jason retorts.
Demetri sighs. "We both know that's not going to happen."
"You guys want to play some video games or something?" Eli suggests.
Jason nods. "Sure."
"I could do that." Demetri says.
Jason grins. "Awesome."
"What do you want to play? Call of Duty? Tekken? Smash?" Hawk asks.
Jason thinks about it. "Well, there's three of us here. Maybe something that more than two people can play?"
"That would be a good idea." Demetri agrees.
Jason grins. "Awesome. And then we can go get lunch or something. Does that sound like a good plan?"
"Sure." Demetri answers.
Eli nods. "Yeah."
They play video games for an hour or two before they go and get lunch.
Before they leave, they tell Beth where they're going.
….
Jason parked the Dodge Viper in the parking lot of an Applebee's.
Eli and Demetri get out of the car first.
Jason gets out of the Dodge Viper and locks it.
"I'm not sure if I've asked the question before or if it's a rude question to ask, but how did you end up driving a car like that? Let alone owning it?" Demetri asks.
Jason smiles. "You haven't asked me that before. The person who bought me the car, or gave it to me, was an old family friend."
"Some friend." Demetri says.
Jason nods. "Yeah. But I'm not going to complain."
"So, are we going to go in or keep standing around?" Eli asks.
Jason scratches his head. "Sure. Let's go."
They walk into the Applebee's and wait to be seated.
Eventually, a booth opens up and a waitress walks over to them.
They follow the waitress to the booth and sit down.
The waitress hands them menus before walking away.
"So, have you decided on what your costume is for Halloween?" Demetri asks.
Jason shrugs. "I haven't really thought about it. I think that Miguel, Claire and I will probably just get the same costume."
"Which would save money. What kind of costumes would you be going for?" Demetri says.
Jason thinks about it. "Probably skeletons or something like that. I'll let Claire or Miguel suggest something and then go with that. But I think we'll all go as skeletons."
"Okay. So, we're not going to talk about the elephant in the room?" Demetri remarks.
Jason looks confused. "What elephant?"
"You like Claire. Everybody can see it. I mean, you'd have to be blind not to. And I'm pretty sure that she likes you, too." Demetri replies.
Jason raises an eyebrow at this statement. "So, you're shipping us? Right?"
"Well, yeah. Kind of. You would make a fairly solid couple. And you'd probably get married and have little karate kids." Demetri answers.
Eli looks like he's about to start laughing. But he doesn't.
Jason's face reddens quite a bit. "Dude!"
"Sorry. Maybe you could ask her out before the Halloween dance or something?" Demetri suggests.
Jason's face starts to return to its normal colour. "I suppose I should."
"Or it's just going to be awkward otherwise." Eli almost whispers.
Jason agrees. "Yeah. Which is why I'm going to ask her out on Monday."
"Good for you. Eli and I are going to be right behind you. Or, as right behind you as it's possible to get. Same with Miguel and Aisha." Demetri is doing his best to sound supportive.
Jason smiles. "I appreciate it."
The waitress who showed them to the booth comes back.
They order food and talk and eat mozzarella sticks while they wait.
Even Eli is getting some words in.
Their food gets brought to the table and they stop talking to eat.
Snippets of conversation do break out, but they're too busy enjoying their meal.
Jason pays for everybody when they're done.
They walk out of the Applebee's and back to Jason's car.
"Would you mind taking us to the comic book store? Or any comic book store, really?" Eli asks.
Jason shrugs. "Sure? I guess. What for?"
"Demetri and I get the new issue of Dungeon Lord every week. It's kind of our thing." Eli explains.
Jason nods. "Cool."
He unlocks the Dodge Viper and gets into the driver's seat.
This time, Demetri gets in the front passenger's seat and Eli gets in the back.
Jason looks around before driving off just to make sure that there aren't any cars moving towards them.
….
The drive from the mall back to Eli's house went by without incident.
Jason parked near the driveway of Eli's house and stopped the Dodge Viper.
He watched as Demetri and Eli opened the car doors and got out before getting out of the car himself.
Jason makes sure that Demetri and Eli took their comics out of the car before locking it.
They walk up the front steps to Eli's house.
Eli knocks on the door.
"Welcome back. Did you boys have fun?" Beth asks as she opens the door.
Jason nods. "We had fun."
"I'm happy to hear it. You and Demetri are both welcome to stay for dinner if you want." Beth replies.
Jason smiles. "I'll stay for dinner."
"What about you, Demetri?" Beth asks.
Demetri lets out a deep breath. "I'm probably going to go. I told my parents that I'd be home for dinner."
"That's fine." Beth says.
Demetri smiles. "Great."
He turns around and walks to his house.
Eli and Demetri lived fairly close by to each other, so he didn't have far to walk.
Beth takes a few steps away from the door so Jason and Eli can walk into the house.
Eli gently closes the door behind them.
"I'll let you both know when dinner is ready." Beth says.
They watch as she walks into the kitchen.
Jason turns his attention to Eli. "I'm guessing that your dad's in his office, right?"
"Yeah. So, you want to head back down to the basement?" Eli asks.
Jason nods. "Sure."
He follows Eli to the basement.
They sit down on the sofa in the basement.
"I hope you don't mind me asking you this, but…" Eli starts.
Jason looks at him. "You can ask me anything."
"Did you have friends before you started going to West Valley?" Eli asks.
Jason shrugs. "Yeah. I guess."
"What were they like?" Eli asks.
Jason lets out a deep breath. "Well, there's not much to tell on that front. They didn't have structure like you, Miguel, Demetri, Aisha and Claire do. Or Sam. So, they just did whatever they wanted. And I just did whatever I wanted. We were juvenile delinquents."
"Oh. Well. You're different now, though." Eli remarks.
Jason nods. "Yeah. But I don't know if they're any different. They're probably the exact same."
"I'm sorry if I upset you. I didn't mean to." Eli looks uncomfortable.
Jason changes the subject. "What's your costume for Halloween going to be?"
"I don't know. But it's going to be a surprise." Eli replies.
Jason smiles. "Cool. I haven't really thought about it either."
"Halloween isn't for another couple of weeks. So, you've got plenty of time to think of something." Eli remarks.
Jason nods. "Yeah. I'm going to ask Claire out, so I've kind of been thinking about what to say."
"Good luck. You guys would be a good couple." Eli says.
Jason smiles. "You think so?"
"Yeah." Eli answers.
Jason leans forward slightly. "You have your eye on anyone?"
"Not at the moment." Eli replies.
Jason knows why Eli doesn't have his eye on anyone and doesn't say anything.
He promptly changes the subject. "Want to play some video games?"
"Sure." Eli answers.
Eli turns on the TV in the basement and turns on his PS4.
They play video games until Beth tells them that dinner is ready.
Jason and Eli walk back up the stairs.
They get to the dining room of the house.
Reuben, Eli's dad, is sitting on one side of the table and Beth is sitting on the other side.
Eli and Jason both sit down.
Dinner is pasta with a rich tomato sauce and meatballs. And garlic bread.
Jason looks at the food in front of him. "Thanks for the meal."
"You're very welcome." Beth replies.
Jason is about to start eating. "Is it okay if I start eating?"
"Let's eat." Reuben answers the question pretty quickly.
They talk and eat.
Jason is grateful that he has friends who are willing, and able, to invite him into their homes.
Their hospitality was much appreciated.
….
Jason hung out with Eli for another hour or so after dinner before he eventually drove home.
He parked the Dodge Viper in the driveway of his house and got out of the car before locking it.
Jason takes out his keys and opens the door to his house before stepping through it.
He closes the door behind him.
And then his phone starts ringing.
Jason checks the caller ID and sees that it's Claire.
"Hi Jason! How were Demetri and Eli? I'm sorry I couldn't hang out with you guys. It was my little cousin Max's birthday today, and I'm fairly close with my extended family. So…." Claire begins.
Jason understands. "You kind of had to go?"
"Exactly. I've got a few cousins on my mom's side, but I don't really have any cousins on my dad's side. Except for Robby, but he's not really my cousin. You've probably never met him, but he's Sensei's son." Claire replies.
Jason sits down on the sofa. "So, what else did you want to talk to me about?"
"I've got an idea for a good Halloween costume." Claire answers.
Jason sounds intrigued. "Really?"
"We could go as skeletons." Claire suggests.
Jason thinks about it. "Any particular reason?"
"My dad, Sensei and their group went as skeletons. You could say it's a Cobra Kai tradition." Claire remarks.
Jason smiles. "Awesome. It's a tradition that we'll have to keep going, right?"
"Yeah. Is there anything else you want to talk to me about?" Claire asks.
Jason shakes his head slightly. "No. See you on Monday."
"See you." Claire hung up.
Jason let out a deep breath.
Monday couldn't come soon enough.
….
Jason couldn't wait for the weekend to be over.
He parked the Dodge Viper in a parking space near one of the entrances to West Valley High and got out of the car after grabbing his backpack from the backseat.
Jason locked the car and walked in.
He walked over to his locker to get some stuff out of it before walking to Claire's locker.
"Hi, Jason. Where's Miguel? Homeroom's not for another couple of minutes, so what's the rush?" Claire wonders.
Jason lets out a deep breath. "There was something that I've been wanting to ask you."
"Oh. Okay. And what would that be?" Claire asks.
Jason decides to just go for it. "Do you want to go out with me? On a date, I mean."
"Are you asking me out?" Claire gives him a look.
Jason nods. "Yeah. If you don't want to go out with me, then we could just go somewhere separately but together. As friends."
"Of course, I'll go out with you. I've liked you for a while now and I'm guessing that you like me too. We've got the same friends and said friends have been "shipping" us for the last few weeks. Even Sensei seems to think that we would work as a couple." Claire says.
Jason smiles. "What day would be a good day for our first date? Friday or Saturday?"
"I'd say Saturday. We've got training on Friday." Claire replies.
Jason looks happy. "Awesome."
Claire is about to say something.
Until Miguel shows up.
"Hey guys. Did I miss anything?" Miguel looks at them.
Jason nods slowly. "Well, Claire and I are officially a couple. And our first date is going to be on Saturday."
"It's about time. I was kind of getting tired of you two circling around each other. We kind of discussed getting a pool going on when you'd ask her out. But I'm glad that you finally did it." Miguel gives Jason a playful punch to the arm.
Jason smiles. "Thanks."
"I hate to interrupt the bro down, but we're going to be late for Homeroom." Claire interjects.
Jason exhales. "Well. We'd better go."
They walk and talk to their homeroom class.
Jason feels like he could be walking on a cloud given how well asking out Claire had gone.
He couldn't wait to tell Demetri, Eli and Aisha the good news. And, possibly tell Sam as well.
….
Miguel joins the queue to get lunch and notices Aisha walking up to him.
"Hey, Miguel. You heard about Jason and Claire?" Aisha asks.
Miguel raises an eyebrow at the question. "Well, yeah. So, what was it you wanted to ask me?"
"You, Jason and Claire do karate, right? What's the name of your dojo or whatever it's called? And can I join?" Aisha looks down.
Miguel sort of shrugs. "Jason, Claire and I do karate. And, the dojo is called Cobra Kai. We train after school Monday to Friday. Sure. You can join."
"Great. Where is the dojo based, if you don't mind me asking?" Aisha follows up.
Miguel quickly responds. "The dojo's in Reseda. It's in a strip mall next to a bodega. I'm sure Jason or Claire will be willing to give you directions if you need them."
"Thanks." Aisha says.
Miguel smiles slightly. "Don't mention it."
"And you don't want to know why I want to do karate?" Aisha wonders aloud.
Miguel tilts his head to one side and thinks about it for a couple of seconds.
He returns to a more neutral posture. "I'm guessing you want to do karate for the same reasons that I wanted to do it."
"Something like that." Aisha remarks.
They walk and talk as the line moves.
Miguel gets his lunch first and Aisha gets her lunch afterwards.
They walk to their usual table and find Jason, Claire, Demetri and Eli already there.
Demetri is busy congratulating Jason for finally asking Claire out.
Jason looks up at Miguel as he sits down. "Welcome. So, I'm guessing you managed to recruit Aisha to Cobra Kai?"
"Yeah. We kind of need more students. And I don't think that two paying students would be enough for Sensei to pay the bills. Besides, Sensei has been looking for new students for a while." Miguel answers.
Jason nods. "Right. So, how did Aisha find out about Cobra Kai? I'm guessing she must have seen what you were working on at some point."
"You mean the website for Cobra Kai? It's been up and ready for a couple of days. I just haven't shown it to Sensei yet." Miguel replies.
Jason understands. "Cool."
Miguel is about to say something else when Counsellor Blatt walks into the room.
She starts giving a mandatory bullying PSA that nobody really listens to.
"Instead of dressing up as a sexy nurse, why not dress up as a gender-neutral hospital employee?" That was possibly the one highlight of Blatt's speech.
Lunch ended fairly soon after Blatt's speech did.
All the different students in the cafeteria go to whatever classes they have after lunch.
….
Miguel rode his bike from West Valley High to the dojo.
He locked up his bike and walked to the front entrance of the dojo.
Jason's Dodge Viper and Claire's Volkswagen Beetle were parked in parking spaces outside the dojo.
Miguel could see Jason and Claire standing outside the dojo waiting for Sensei to show up.
"Have any of you seen Aisha?" Miguel asks.
Jason shakes his head. "I haven't seen her yet."
"I haven't seen her either, but she is going to show up. I guess." Claire adds.
Miguel nods. "Alright."
They wait for a bit until a car pulls up and parks outside a parking space near to where Jason and Claire parked their cars.
The door opens and Aisha steps out.
"I think I'm early." Aisha says.
Miguel smiles slightly. "You're on time, actually."
"Oh. Thanks. I really wasn't sure." Aisha replies.
They wait around until Sensei's Pontiac Firebird pulls up outside the dojo.
Sensei emerges from the parked car and unlocks the door of the dojo.
He looks over in Aisha's direction. "So, you're going to be joining us, right?"
"Yeah. If that's okay." Aisha replies.
Sensei unlocks the door of the dojo and opens it. "As a matter of fact, it is. And, you can address me as Sensei."
"Okay, Sensei." Aisha says.
They watch as Sensei opens the door and walks into the dojo.
Sensei looks at Aisha. "So, why do you want to join Cobra Kai?"
"I'm getting mean texts and emails sent to me. It makes me not want to go to school." Aisha answers.
Jason, Miguel and Claire all look horrified.
Sensei continues. "Who sends you those messages?"
"Well, they're mostly anonymous. They create fake accounts and say that I'm ugly and that I should kill myself." Aisha answers.
Sensei is shocked. "Oh my god…."
"What a bunch of pussies! When I was a teenager, you said things to peoples' faces. There was honour and respect. Those geeks who hide behind their computers to insult you are a bunch of spineless losers. You're not afraid of them, are you?" Sensei continues.
Aisha shakes her head. "No."
"Are you going to take shit from those losers?" Sensei asks.
Aisha shakes her head again. "No, Sensei!"
"Good. Because you're going to be sending a message of your own. Only you're not going to use a keyboard, you're going to use your fists." Sensei puts up his fists for emphasis.
Aisha nods and smiles.
Jason, Miguel and Claire all look at Aisha and Sensei.
Sensei quickly gives out an order. "Okay. Get on the line. Brown, get on the other side."
"Let's see what you've got. What's your last name, again?" Sensei asks.
Aisha speaks up. "It's Robinson, Sensei."
"Okay, then. Face me, bow. Face each other, bow." Sensei instructs.
Claire and Aisha face Sensei and bow before facing each other and bowing.
Sensei gives another instruction. "Ms Brown, show her everything you learned."
"Yes, Sensei!" Claire exclaims.
Sensei looks at Aisha. "Are you ready, Robinson?"
"Yes, Sensei!" Aisha shouts.
Sensei lets out a yell. "Fight!"
Claire gets into a fighting stance.
Aisha gets into a fighting stance as well.
Claire goes to throw a punch, but Aisha blocks it and counters.
Aisha throws another punch but Claire blocks it.
Claire aims a kick at Aisha's stomach, but Aisha manages to block the kick.
Even if she is staggered slightly.
Aisha tries to kick Claire, but Claire moves out of the way.
Claire kicks Aisha in the stomach.
This causes Aisha to almost double over.
"Are you okay?" Claire looks a little concerned.
Aisha catches her breath. "I'm fine."
"Good." Claire looks relieved.
Claire quickly sweeps Aisha's legs and delivers a punch to her stomach.
Sensei looks on approvingly. "Good work, Brown. And, good work, Robinson."
Claire helps Aisha back to her feet.
Sensei tells them to do warmups after that.
Jason and Miguel both go to Sensei's office when training is over.
"Kreese! Diaz! What can I do for you?" Sensei asks.
Miguel speaks up. "I've been working on a website for Cobra Kai the last few weeks. Do you want to see it, Sensei?"
"Sure." Sensei replies.
Miguel notices a laptop on Sensei's desk and turns it on.
He gets Sensei to input the password on it.
Miguel then opens up a web browser and types in a URL.
He shows Sensei and Jason what he's been working on. "So, what do you think?"
"It's pretty good." Jason replies.
Sensei kind of agrees. "Good work, Diaz."
"So, you like it?" Miguel asks.
Sensei nods. "I like it. But it's not the only way to get people to sign up."
"What else do you have in mind, Sensei?" Miguel wonders aloud.
Sensei gets a flyer from his desk. "Something like this, Diaz."
"Will people actually read that? I think the website is the best way of reaching people." Miguel says.
Sensei thinks about it. "Well, it's good to have a backup plan."
"Oh. Okay. Well, I'd better go. See you tomorrow." Miguel leaves Sensei's office.
Sensei watches as Miguel leaves before he turns his attention to Jason. "So, what's up with you, Kreese?"
"Not much. I asked Claire out. But, I'm not sure where to take her on our first date." Jason answers.
Sensei turns off the laptop and sits back in his chair. "I knew you could do it, Kreese. You should take her to the same place I took all my babes to back in the day."
"And where would that be?" Jason asks.
Sensei grins. "It's a surprise. But I think she'll like it."
"I hope she does. I didn't expect you to be so cool about me asking Claire out." Jason says.
Sensei stops leaning back in his chair. "You're a good kid, Kreese. And I know that you're not going to hurt her. Because if you do…"
"I get it. I'm not going to hurt her. Thanks for the help, Sensei." Jason turns to leave.
Sensei smiles. "I know you won't. See you tomorrow, Kreese."
Jason walks out of the dojo.
Miguel, Claire and Aisha have already gone home. Because their cars and bike respectively were gone.
He unlocks the Dodge Viper and gets into the driver's seat.
Jason turns on the radio and turns up the volume before driving off.
He'd call, or text, Claire when he got home.
