A/N: Not much to say, except this chapter is going to be a relatively short one.

Jason had a pretty good night's sleep, all things considered.
He wakes up and reaches for his phone.
There were texts from Claire and Aisha.
Jason replies to the texts before getting out of bed.
He gets dressed and walks downstairs after putting his wallet, phone and keys in his pockets.
Jason pours himself a bowl of cereal and takes it to the dining table.
He eats in relative silence.
Jason clears everything away when he's finished.
He then walks out of his house and closes the door behind him.
Jason unlocks the Dodge Viper and gets in the driver's seat.
He turns on the radio as he starts to drive off.
Jason had told Claire and Aisha that he was going to check on Miguel.
And that's what he would do.
….
The drive from Encino to Reseda didn't take very long at all.
Jason parked the Dodge Viper across from Miguel's apartment.
He got out of the car and closed the door before locking it.
Jason noticed that Sensei's Pontiac Firebird was parked outside of his apartment.
He walks over to Miguel's apartment and knocks on the door.
"Hello, Jason. I assume you're here to see Miguel." Carmen opens the door and looks out.
Jason nods. "Yeah."
"Come on in. He's in his room." Carmen takes a step back.
Jason walks into the apartment as Carmen closes the door behind him.
He walks over to Miguel's room and knocks on the door.
Miguel opens the door.
The bruise on his arm is still there, and the bruising on his stomach is covered by his clothing.
He closes the door behind Jason and sits on the bed.
Jason stands with his back to the door. "How are you?"
"I'm fine. Apart from the bruising. And the fact that I kind of got my ass kicked." Miguel replies.
Jason smiles slightly. "Glad to hear it. But I didn't let them get away with it."
"I know." Miguel answers.
Jason raises an eyebrow at this remark. "Really?"
"It's all over Instagram." Miguel's answer is pretty short.
Jason's eyes widen. "Oh. Well, Claire kind of said something about there being something on Instagram. I didn't take it seriously, though."
"You probably should. I think it would make more sense if I just showed you." Miguel says.
Jason watches as Miguel goes on his phone and finds the Instagram story.
He sees Rory with a black eye and surprisingly deep bruises on his face and around his head.
Kyler, Brucks and Alan are in the background along with Yasmine and Moon. Sam was nowhere to be seen. Which made sense, because Sam didn't want to pretend to be something that she wasn't. And she would stop being friends with the people who she tried to fit in with.
Jason reads the caption. "Jason Kreese is a violent and dangerous criminal who deserves to be sent back to whatever hellhole he crawled out from. He doesn't belong in West Valley High."
"Sensei did tell you not to get into too much trouble." Miguel points out.
Jason runs a hand through his hair. "He did. But I couldn't let what Kyler and his merry band of assholes did to you slide."
"To be honest, they didn't really hurt me that badly. The bruising makes it look worse than it is. And it could have been a hell of a lot worse." Miguel tries to sound reassuring.
Jason sighs. "That's a relief. Unfortunately, they're going to try and make me out to be the bad guy. And they're just going to get away with it like they always do."
"We both know that you're not the bad guy." Miguel replies.
Jason asks the question he had been meaning to ask since he walked into Miguel's room. "So, are you still going to train? Or are you done with karate?"
"Well, my mom and Yaya found out that I did karate when Sensei brought me home. My mom freaked out and basically forbade me from doing karate ever again and I'm not sure if anything will make her change her mind."
Jason lets out a deep breath. "Shit. I'm probably not the best person to talk to when it comes to moms, or parents in general, but there's no way your mom can forbid you from doing something that obviously benefits you. And it would have been worse if you weren't trained. You said it yourself."
"I know. But it's not up to me." Miguel leans back on his bed.
Jason understands. "Cool. Well, I'll see you around. I guess. Hopefully someone says something to your mom to get her to change her mind about you not training anymore. Or she changes her mind on her own."
"Yeah. See you around." Miguel replies.
Jason nods. "Of course."
He opens the door and walks out of Miguel's room.
Jason walks past Carmen and tells her that he's leaving.
He opens the door and walks out of the apartment before closing the door behind him.
Jason unlocks the Dodge Viper and gets in the driver's seat.
He texts Claire and Aisha to let them know that he had been to see Miguel before he drives off.
Hopefully Carmen would change her mind and let Miguel train again.
….
Jason parks the Dodge Viper in the parking lot of an In N Out.
He gets out of the car and locks it before he walks inside.
There's a bit of a line, but he doesn't mind.
The line moves relatively quickly and Jason gets to the front of the line.
He makes his order before paying for it and standing to one side.
Jason collects his order when it's ready and walks outside to eat.
He eats his food and gets rid of the packaging that came with it.
Jason walks over to the Dodge Viper and unlocks it before getting into the front seat and driving off.
He goes for a little bit of a drive before he sees something that makes him pull over.
Jason gets out of the Dodge Viper and looks up.
He sees a billboard with Daniel LaRusso's smiling face on it.
There's also a giant red dick that was spray painted on to the billboard practically going into the man's mouth.
Jason almost doubles over with laughter.
He laughs for a few minutes before he eventually calms down.
Jason takes a photo of the billboard on his phone and puts the photo up on Instagram.
He unlocks the Dodge Viper and gets into the driver's seat.
Jason turns the radio on as he drives off.
He didn't really have anywhere to be, so he could just do whatever he wanted.
There would even be time to get gas.
….
Johnny had spent the better part of a day thinking of what to say in order to get Miguel's mom, Carmen, to change her mind about letting Miguel continue training.
He let out a deep breath and went through what he was going to say in his head.
When he had finished doing that, Johnny grabbed his keys and walked over to the door of his apartment.
He opened the door to his apartment and stepped outside before closing the door behind him.
The distance between his apartment and Miguel's apartment wasn't much at all.
Johnny walks over to Miguel's apartment and knocks on the door.
He takes a step back and waits.
"Who is it? Oh, it's you. I already told you that I don't think Miguel should do karate anymore." Carmen almost closes the door in his face.
Johnny manages to stop her, somehow. "Please don't close the door. I know I wasn't there for him when it really mattered. I let him down and I guess I let you down, too. I know there aren't any do-overs or second chances, but that kid…. Is one of the very few people in the world who hasn't given up on me or written me off. I know I fucked up before, but I promise that I'm not going to fail him again this time. Okay? You don't have to say anything now. But just think about it. Please."
"I will." Carmen answers.
Johnny smiles. "Great."
He watches as Carmen closes the door.
Johnny waits for a few seconds before walking back to his apartment.
He unlocks the door and takes his keys before closing the door behind him.
All he could do now was wait.
….
Jason drove back home after getting gas.
He gets out of the Dodge Viper and locks it.
Jason walks up to his house and gets his keys.
He opens the door and walks in before closing the door behind him.
Jason walks in and sits down on the sofa.
He takes out his phone and calls a pizza place that he knows delivers.
Jason makes an order before hanging up.
He turns on the TV and channel surfs while he waits.
At least until his phone rings.
He checks the Caller ID and is almost surprised to see that it's Miguel.
"Hey, Jason!" Miguel exclaims.
Jason turns the volume of the TV down. "Hey, Miguel."
"I've got some good news! You want to hear it?" Miguel sounds excited.
Jason nods. "Sure. What's the good news?"
"Sensei must have talked to my mom earlier. Because she told me that I can start training again on Monday." Miguel replies.
Jason lets out a deep breath. "Awesome!"
"Yeah. I wonder what Sensei said to my mom, because she didn't want me to keep training yesterday. Whatever it was, it must have been something pretty profound. Because there's no way that she changed her mind so quickly." Miguel answers.
Jason shrugs. "People change their mind pretty quickly about all sorts of things. It's probably best not to worry about it."
"You're probably right." Miguel agrees.
Jason grins. "Of course, I'm right."
"I'll see you on Monday. I'm going to call Claire and Aisha and tell them the good news." Miguel says.
Jason nods. "Cool."
"I'm pretty sure I have Claire and Aisha's numbers, but would you mind texting them to me if I don't?" Miguel asks.
Jason agrees. "I'll do that."
"Thanks. See you Monday!" Miguel hangs up.
Jason sends Claire and Aisha's numbers to Miguel in a text message.
He doesn't have long to wait until his pizza arrives.
Jason opens the door and pays for the pizza, leaving the delivery person a nice tip.
He closes the door behind him and walks back into the living room.
Jason sits down and turns the volume of the TV back up.
He opens the pizza box and takes out a slice.
Whatever happened on Monday, it wouldn't stop him from enjoying the little things and making the most of his weekend.
