"What! The ferry is canceled!" a voice called out. "But I've got to get to New Island!" another said. "It's only a little rain!" a third complained. "Hey!" I yelled out among the crowd to quiet them down. "Now listen! I know you're all disappointed but you have to listen to the harbor manager," I said. "It's more than just rain. The harbor manager thinks

this could be the worst storm ever,' Jenny said. The harbor manager then stepped forward. "Listen to me. The prophets have predicted the return of the Winds of Water. For years, I prayed mankind would never witness that deadly storm ever again." She said. "Isn't that just a legend?" A young trainer in a blue tank top asked. "Ancient writings tell of the storm

wiping out all but a few Pokémon. In their sorrow, the water of their tears restored the lives lost in the storm. But there are no Pokémon tears today. Just waters which no one can survive." She finished. "That's why the ferry

has been canceled." Jenny reaffirmed. "Uh, yeah, what they said," I said. I had no idea what the harbor manager was talking about but, I could tell from the 100ft waves out on the ocean that this storm was one for the history books.

"I'm going to New lsland anyway! All my Pokémon are Water-type! We'll just swim over to that palace!" The kid with the tanktop said confidently. At this, I stepped forward. "No, you won't! You try it and your trainer license will be revoked, permanently!" I said firmly. As the head of the Pokémon World League, it was my duty to keep Pokémon and trainers safe. "I warn you, the waves will be savage! You will never make it!" the harbor manager insisted. "If you try that stunt and your Pokémon got hurt, you'd be out of luck because we closed the Pokémon Center," Jenny said. The crowd then became confused. Most had either just arrived or hadn't explored the harbor, so they had no idea about Joy. "The nurse in charge of the center disappeared last month. If any of you see her, please contact me at once," Jenny finished.

Once the announcement was over, Jenny and I walked to the glass windows and watched the storm grow larger and larger with each passing moment. "Nikki, this is getting bad, and something else is bothering me," She sighed. "What is it?" I asked. "The owner of New Island. It's not safe out there in the middle of the ocean where the island is, and he might be in danger," She finished. "Well, I could go and get him," I suggested. Jenny looked at me like I was crazy. "No way! You'd be swept away like that!" She said snapping her fingers. "Jenny, are you forgetting who I am?" I asked pulling out Dragonites Pokéball. "Nikki, look at that! It's not a normal storm for crying out loud!" She said pointing outside. She was right. The storm was getting worse, but I couldn't just stand there and do nothing.

As we stood watching the storm, out of the corner of my eye I saw 3 trainers running out to the dock. One was a female in a short-sleeved shirt, the other was a young man with black hair, and the last was the one with the blue tank top. Jenny and I ran after them but we were too late. The girl hopped on a Dewgong, the young man jumped on his Pidgeot, and the kid in the tank top on his Gyarados, and all three began racing towards New Island. 'Come back here, or I'll place you under arrest!' Jenny yelled as she reached the edge of the dock. 'Come back!' She yelled again. A few seconds later, the harbor manager walked up behind us. 'Some trainers have no fear. To them, this is just one more challenge. They follow their hearts. That is what sets them apart and will make them Pokémon Masters. Good luck to all of you,' She said with a smile.

I, however, thought this was ridiculous. I had to act. I ran to the edge and released Dragonite, then hopped on his back and turned to Jenny and the harbor manager. 'I'm going to get those kids back here!' I told them. Jenny looked at me with concern. 'Nikki, be careful. I nodded in agreement. 'I will be. I can't just stand here and let them put themselves in danger. I have to try and bring them back safely,' I replied. The harbor manager added, 'It's a noble effort, but you're risking your own life as well," I turned to her and said, "I have faith in Dragonite. He's the strongest flyer in the Pokémon world. If anyone can get me there and back safely, it's him," Jenny and the harbor manager exchanged a worried glance, but I knew I had to try. With a determined look on my face, I spurred Dragonite forward, soaring into the heart of the storm.

True to my word, Dragonite took off like a rocket and within 7 minutes, we caught up to the young man with the Pidgeot. "What do you think you're doing!" I yelled. He simply looked back at me and said nothing. "I'm not kidding! You need to get back to the harbor before you get hurt!" I yelled again, but it was no use. He called on his Pokémon to go faster so that they could make it. I called Dragonite to a halt then looked down and saw the girl and boy racing on their water Pokémon. I pointed to them and Dragonite soared towards them in seconds. "Hey, you there! On the Dewgong!" I called out as Dragonite and I caught up to her. She turned around to face me, her face contorted with determination. "What do you want?" she shouted back over the deafening winds. "I want you to turn around and head back to the harbor. This storm is too dangerous to keep going!" I replied, trying to sound as calm as possible. "I appreciate your concern, but I have to keep going. I'm a trainer on a mission and I can't let a little storm stop me," she replied, her voice resolute. I could see the fire in her eyes and the firm set of her jaw. She was determined to reach New Island. "I understand your determination, but this storm is unlike anything we've seen before. It could be deadly," I tried to reason with her. "I know that, but I can't just give up now. I have to try," she responded, her voice unwavering. I paused for a moment, taking in her words. I could see there was no way I could convince her to turn back. "Thank you for your concern," she replied with a small smile, before turning her attention back to the storm. I watched her disappear into the thick swell, feeling a sense of admiration for her bravery and determination as a trainer.

A few seconds later, I looked down and to my surprise, Ash, Brock, and Misty, the kids I met earlier, had also decided to brave the storm. I watched and I could see them struggling. They only had a Squirtle and Staryu for safety and neither were up for the task. "Oh no! Dragonite we've gotta save them!" I yelled. Dragonite nodded and soared towards them. When we were close enough to them, I unclipped another Pokéball and threw it towards the sea. "Gyarados, we've gotta help those kids!" I called. Gyarados exploded from his Pokéball and raced towards the kids the second he touched the water. I watched from Dragonite's back as he got the three safely together and on his back. I was about to call out for him to head back to the harbor, but to my surprise, I could see New Island was much closer. I weighed my options for a moment and saw Gyarados beginning to struggle in the ever-growing maelstrom. My mind was made up. I pointed towards New Island and yelled "Gyarados, head towards that island!". Gyarados nodded and swam with all his might toward the small island in the distance. I followed closely behind making sure they were safe and finally, after a few moments, we reached land.
