A Dynamic Duo

Note: Full disclosure, this is kind of a longer chapter because I just got a little excited. Hopefully it doesn't drag on too much in some areas. I meant to add in the last note that I would be trying to add as much of the canon story events later on as possible. Hopefully between them and the scenes and situations I create to build the romance I'll be able to tie them together nicely.

Also be sure to leave some comments, I'm really excited to hear what you think of each chapter.

I'll shut up now. I do not own any of the characters depicted in this story....

Momo just sat there and inadvertently stared at the back of her new classmate's head. Before anyone could say a single word to him, Mr. Aizawa instructed Peter to take his seat and had begun his lesson on hero laws. Though the entirety of the class had dozens of their own questions to ask the new addition to the class, they would have to hold onto them for the time being. Their insomniatic teacher had already deemed that they had lost too much valuable time on... "Pleasantries".

She turned her attention to the rest of the classroom (she already knew most, if not all, of the information Aizawa was covering). She noticed that most of her classmates were too distracted to pay any sort of attention to their teacher at the moment. Some were even stealing momentary glances at Peter every time Mr. Aizawa turned around. Mina and Toru, on the other hand, were a different situation entirely. They looked like they were ready to burst and weren't even trying to act like they were present for Aizawa's lecture.

The onyx haired genius shuffled in her seat as she started forming her own questions in her mind. For starters, how on earth was Peter even awake right now?! She had heard Midoriya's detail about him coming here from America and if that were indeed the case, then she could only imagine the jet lag he must be feeling at the moment. There was a 14 hour time difference for crying out loud!

The lecture on hero laws eventually concluded, but the day continued to drag by at a snails pace. Subject after subject slowly chipped away at the school day. Finally at the conclusion of the last lesson, Aizawa turned around and asked the class if there were any final questions... Not one single hand raised.

"Alright then... I'm taking a nap. You have a few minutes before lunch and I have a sneaking suspicion that you'll be using it to chat. Just keep it down and be ready for hero training after your lunch period. I suggest you eat light unless you want to see your food again later." The man cryptically warned as he zipped himself up in his favorite yellow sleeping bag.

A collective gulp could be heard from most of the students.

Peter just watched in confusion as his teacher actually rolled himself over to face the wall and began to sleep. 'What the hell?... Is he actual-' he thought to himself as snoring was heard from the yellow sleeping bag. 'He's actually asleep right now... Umm... Alright then...'

He started to pack his things away and when he looked up, all (excluding Bakugo) of his new classmates had circled around him like a herd of bison. Unbeknownst to him, he had been the main center of almost every conversation this morning... even amongst those not a part of class 1A... and on top of it all, they were forced to wait for five long hours as the anticipation built up inside of them. The dam was about to break...

All at once the interrogation began. Everyone was talking over one another at the same time. It even got so hectic that Peter could no longer match which voice belonged to which person. He couldn't help but chuckle nervously. He was shy around new people... He never was one to draw attention to himself and had miserable luck making friends at his old school. Nobody was ever really interested in Peter Parker and he had come to terms with that long ago. He was a loner back in New York so he obviously thought that the same trend would continue in Musutafu. Why wouldn't it? He was in an entirely new country, with the Earth's largest ocean between him and the closest part of America. So far the only person he knew (by the most loose definition of the word) was sleeping in the corner of the room... However, at least for now, it looked like that would no longer be the case.

The onslaught of questions continued, even though he had yet to answer a single one. He found it odd yet flattering. Everyone seemed nice enough...

"I thought I told you to keep the noise to a minimum." Aizawa warned from his spot on the ground. "Introduce yourselves like civilized human beings. I promise you won't be getting another warning." Then the snoring continued.

"You'll have to excuse our excitement Parker. It's not often our class receives a new student. You're actually the first since we started here at UA." A tall blue haired boy explained as he pushed the frame of his glasses to the bridge of his nose. "My name is Tenya Iida, the class representative. It's an honor to have you join us." He declared as he bowed with his arms locked against his hips.

Suddenly, a girl with pink hair and skin nearly pushed poor Tenya to the ground trying to introduce herself. "Hiya there handsome! I'm Mina Ashido!" she said as she bent down over her desk with her hands behind her back flashing an uncomfortably wide smile.

"U-uhhh.. Hey.." he said suddenly feeling awkward from the forward compliment but managed a polite smile anyway.

"And I'm Toru Hagakure!" Said the floating uniform that suddenly loomed over the other side of his desk.

The boy in front of him who had yet to grasp the concept of how to tie a necktie took his turn to speak up as he poked up his head behind the two girls' shoulders "Hi! I'm Izuku Midoriya! Welcome to UA!" The boy extended his hand over the two and Peter shook it firmly with a smile. They had no way of knowing yet but the friendship between the two of them would grow to extreme importance during both of their journeys to become pro heroes.

Iida finally pried the two ladies away from Peter's desk. One by one the rest of the class all took turns introducing themselves to Peter until only one remained a mystery. He felt a gentle tap on his shoulder and turned around to find the extremely attractive young woman behind him smiling nervously, but warmly at him.

"I guess that just leaves me. Hi, I'm Momo Yaoyorozu." she said in a slightly timid tone. There was something about Peter...

"N-nice to meet you!" He said shakily. He couldn't remember another time where someone with her level of attractiveness spoke to him... But she seemed nice enough... there was something he found welcoming and relaxing about her presence.

Momo continued to smile at the boy. This was the first good look at him she had gotten after spending most of the day looking at the back of his head. His eyes were a deep shade of blue that she found rather mystic and pleasing to look at. She also couldn't help but notice how nicely his short faded haircut complimented the shape of his face. He somehow managed to bury himself into her mind and she began to involuntarily grow very curious of him.

As the introductions concluded, some of the class took their leave to earn an early spot in line for some of Lunch Rush's delicious food, but a handful decided to stay behind and try to get to know their new classmate a bit better, which included: Iida, Mina, Jiro, Midoriya, Toru, Uraraka, Yaoyorozu, and to all of their surprise, Todoroki decided to stick around... he wasn't exactly class 1A's most social butterfly and often kept to himself, hardly ever speaking unless spoken to.

Peter had begun telling them very small mundane details about himself and the group seemed to hang onto his every word. They all showed him much kindness and his mind began to let himself relax into comfortable conversation. He was in the middle of talking about what life was like in New York when he noticed Midoriya grab a notebook and a pen.

"Looks like Midoriya has waited about as long as he could." Joked Jiro.

"I'm sorry I can't help it." The boy apologized sheepishly as he turned to Peter. "Um...I'm really curious about your quirk... You must be insanely powerful to score as high as you did on the entrance exam... Do you care to tell me a little bit about your power?" He asked and readied his pen.

The group turned to Peter and awaited his response.

"You know... Nobody's ever really asked me about my power before... I guess I'd say my quirk is kinda different than most. It took a lot of practice for me to pull out it's full potential." Peter began to explain. "I call it 'spider'... I can stick to any surface. I can also shoot webs from my wrists. They're stronger than steel, but also extremely flexible, I can even use them to swing around on which makes me super mobile in environments like cities and thick forests. Another thing is that I have a sort of sixth sense in my head. Whenever I'm in danger or someone or something poses a threat, I feel a tingle in my brain. Tends to come in handy in fights too. It's almost like being able to know when the perfect time to dodge or counter presents itself." Peter explained.

Everyone seemed pretty impressed, but the next detail of Peter's quirk really got them buzzing with interest.

"In addition to all that, I have super strength as well and that pretty much sums up everything."

Midoriya was scribbling so frantically that his pen nearly ripped a hole in the page.

"Just how super are we talking here tiger?" Mina purred flirtatiously as dhe crossed her arms.

Peter began to think, choosing to ignore the advances of the amber eyed girl. It had been some time since he tested his strength. "Uhhh it's been a minute since I really had to push myself. That said, I feel confident I could sling around something weighing about 10 tons."

Jiro whistled, impressed.

"That's some serious power!" Iida added with excitement.

Todoroki's eyes widened at the revelation. "Your power is so versatile. You could probably even hold your own against All Might for a while."

"Your quirk is insane!" Uraraka blurted out.

Midoriya continued to scribble quickly as he began muttering to himself about similarities and differences between Parker and Kamui Woods... Whoever that was.

Mina and Toru were practically drooling and had yelled something about wanting to feel his muscles, but as they jumped towards him, they were held back by Iida and Jiro.

Momo was struggling to keep her jaw off of the ground. It was hardly believable that Peter was capable of that kind of strength. He wasn't exactly large like Sato... in fact, he had quite an athletic build... caught somewhere between slender and muscular, as far as she could tell... She found herself excited to see him in action.

All of the sudden the bell rang, signaling the beginning of their lunch period. Ochako, Midoriya, Iida, and Todoroki went ahead with Peter as the discussion about his quirk continued, leaving the ladies who lingered in the classroom absolutely baffled.

As they started to follow the others at a distance, Mina hardly managed to stifle her squeals. "He... Is... So... Freaking... Awesome!"

"Gotta agree, he is pretty impressive. Seems like a pretty solid dude too." Jiro admitted to the surprise of the others... she had a reputation for finding most guys utterly unbearable to be around, with the only exceptions being the boys in their class.

"Talk about an upgrade from Mineta!!!" Toru pointed out to everyone's agreement.

Momo just continued to stare at the brown haired boy a few dozen feet in front of her in silence. Though she didn't even know it yet herself, a slight flame of interest was kindled inside of her.

Yaoyorozu and the other girls of class 1A had changed into their hero costumes and were currently making their way towards Ground Beta, per Aizawa's instruction. As usual, they were kept completely in the dark as to what the exercise today would entail.

Peter had remained the main interest of discussion throughout the entire lunch period. On numerous occasions, Momo had caught herself staring at him from access the cafeteria. Luck was on her side though as nobody seemed to notice. As she walked with the group she found herself wondering what his hero costume would be like. However, the boys were still changing in the locker room so the jury was still out on that.

As they reached the entrance to the training ground another discussion began.

"Do you think we'll get to work in teams today?" Uraraka wondered out loud.

"Highly possible *ribbit, we've been doing quite a bit of solo exercises lately. Besides, Mr. Aizawa probably wants to see how well some of us match up with and against Parker." Tsu said in response.

"Well there's also the possibility that Mr. Aizawa wants to see what Parker is capable of, if he doesn't know already. It would be much easier for him to assess each student individually if we went solo." Momo countered.

"It would be nice to get partnered with him though, pretty much a guaranteed victory if you ask me." Jiro said plainly.

"I'm not so sure about that *ribbit*. Don't forget that Parker doesn't know anything about our quirks while almost all of us have a pretty detailed description of his *ribbit ribbit*. "

Momo mentally acknowledged that Tsu had a good point. By the time lunch was over, everyone, even other classes, were buzzing about Peter's supposed capabilities. "I have to agree with Tsu. He does possess a powerful quirk, but we've not seen him in action yet. Nor do we have any indication of how much combat experience he actually has." Momo explained her line of reason.

Before anyone else could add to the conversation, a new voice interjected.

"Ahh don't worry about that. I've knocked around some villains a time or two back in Queens." Peter said with an amused grin.

Caught off guard by the unexpected input, the girls whipped around to see Peter closing the gap between them in his hero costume.

He wore a tightly fitted red and blue spandex suit covered with a black webbed pattern over the red parts. A large black spider was centered on his chest, while a larger red one covered his back. He carried what seemed to be a red mask with the same black web pattern on it. There were two sleek triangular plastic lenses both with a chrome covering that hid the eyes of the wearer.

"WHOA MAMA!!!!!" Mina shouted as she saw him.

Momo couldn't help but stare. The spandex clung to him and revealed the shape of his extremely well toned body, while leaving just enough hidden to let her imagination run absolutely wild. Her accelerated heart beat snapped her back to reality. She was caught extremely off guard. She had never just sat and gawked at a boy the way she just did. Her face felt hot and she realized she was blushing. Once again, luck was on her side as nobody seemed to notice, they were all too preoccupied with the sudden appearance of their new classmate.

"Dude, come on! Are you trying to kill us or something?!" Mina shouted as she refused to take her eyes off of his muscles.

Toru was only able to babnle incoherently as two pink circles appeared in the air.

Peter wasn't used to so much attention, much less from girls. He tried to play it cool.

"What? Is there something on my ch- AAAAHHH!!!" He jokingly let out a fake scream as he looked down at the spider on his chest, earning some hearty laughs from everyone in the process.

Jiro was the first to speak after the laughter subsided. "I hope the rest of them get here soon. Mr. Aizawa won't be too happy if we keep him waiting."

"They should be right behind me... Yeah here they come." Peter said as the rest of the class rounded the corner.

Everyone began to cluster together and suddenly turned around to the sound of Aizawa clearing his throat behind them.

"Today we're going to be running a heavy combat training exercise." He began to explain as everyone was trying to figure out where the man had came from.

"The teams will be split into groups of two. A villain team and a hero team. The villains can win by either defeating the heroes in combat or by lasting until the time limit is up. They will also be given a 5 minute head start and will not be penalized for any collateral damage."

"So the hero teams will be at a disadvantage. *ribbit" Tsu realized aloud.

"Precisely." Affirmed Aizawa. "The hero teams goal is to hunt down and capture the villains within the allotted time, all while minimizing collateral damage."

The class nodded in understanding.

"The idea of this exercise is to assess your abilities to fight and strategize with a partner. I, along with the rest of the class will be watching you from the observation room. Any questions?"

"No sir." The students all said together rearing to get started.

"Alright then. The first villain team will be Eijiro Kirishima and Katsuki Bakugo." The red head and the blonde looked at each other as the hardening hero gave him a thumbs up. Bakugo's expression remained stoic and just looked away.

"The first hero team will be comprised of..." The teacher looked down at his clip board. "Momo Yaoyorozu and Peter Parker."

Momo grew more and more nervous with each passing second. Not only were their opponents incredibly powerful and proficient in every aspect of combat, but her own partner was as well (apparently). Would she be able to keep up with their pace? Ever since the incident at the USJ, she had been putting in countless amounts of time focusing on increasing her combat prowess. According to Aizawa, she had shown signs of significant growth, but even still, this was a tall order. Kirishima and Bakugo formed a combination of devastating offensive capabilities coupled with a rock solid defense. Not to mention that if the spikey haired blonde was feeling particularly "generous" and agreed to actually work together with his partner, this could get extremely challenging in a hurry.

She glanced over at her partner who walked alongside her on their way to come up with a strategy. He seemed confident yet focused. It was his first official hero exercise at UA, which meant he had to show everyone what he could do. She tried her best to gain control of her nerves as her mind began to race with different approaches and battle tactics. Deep down she found herself wanting to impress him just as much as she wanted to win.

The two heroes-in-training reached the start gate and turned to each other. "So... What can you tell me about these guys? Quirks, strengths, weaknesses, tendencies...?" Peter asked as he began to stretch.

Momo watched as different muscle groups were excentuated with each movement of his body. "Also, I think it's a safe bet to say I should follow your lead on this one. You are the smartest person in our class after all."

The raven haired girl's eyes widened. "Wh-wha-"

Peter hopped up off the ground and shook out the tightness from his arms and legs. He noticed what he had said and how the beautiful girl in front of him seemed to be reacting to it. "Y-yeah I sort of... Might have.. possibly asked the group at lunch about you." he admitted slightly embarrassed, "They told me all about how you were the top student in every subject and that you're even our vice representative."

'He... Asked them about... Me?' she thought to herself bewildered. 'Why does that feel so... Nice?'

She blushed for a second time in his presence but he was too busy stretching to notice. "I think they might've given me a little too much credit..." She said with a nervous smile. "But I do actually have some ideas on what course of action we should take."

Peter stopped stretching and provided her with his full attention. "I'm all ears vice rep!"

Meanwhile, the other students had gathered around the main screen in the observation room. The five minute countdown to the start of the exercise was now underway. Everyone was on pins and needles, itching to see what Parker's power would look like in action. Even Aizawa, though he would never admit it, was looking forward to it. He had done extensive research on Parker the moment he was made aware that he would be joining his group of students.

Suddenly, the doors of the observation room opened and in stepped All Might and principal Nezu. Everyone turned their attention to the new additions to the observers.

"WE ARE HERE! TO WATCH THE BATTLE OF YOUR PROMISING NEW CLASSMATE!" All Might's voice boomed.

"Yes, this does indeed seem like the sort of occasion that I, as the Principal, should be here to witness in person." Nezu said as he climbed onto Aizawa's shoulder. "Please carry on as if we were not here."

The students did as they were instructed and turned their focus back to the monitors.

"Taking all bets here fellas! Who do you guys have winning this one?" Kaminari said with a smirk, eyes still fixed on the screen.

Aizawa thought about reprimanding him for potentially causing a distraction but remained silent as some of the other students shared their thoughts on the upcoming matchup.

"YaoMomo has been working on her combat nonstop after school these days... And if Parker is really as strong as he says he is, then this could be a quick fight." Uraraka deduced.

"I'm not so sure about that *ribbit ribbit, Kirishima and Bakugo's quirks go together perfectly. I think anyone would have trouble taking them on." Tsu countered.

"Bakugo is relentless. He won't pull any punches. I expect him to go straight for Parker. He's likely to be holding a grudge for him tying his score on the entrance exam." Shoji explained through his mask.

"Yes. And if Yaoyorozu didn't realize this or deemed it unimportant information, her team will crack under Bakugo's feet." Tokoyami uttered intensely as he shrouded himself in his cloak.

"YaoMomo thinks of everything though. I'm sure they've got this." Argued Toru in support of her friend.

The banter continued as Aizawa looked to his left. Three students stood quietly with stern expressions as they waited for the countdown to end.

'Seems like those three understand... This fight is going to be worth paying full attention to.'

Todoroki, Midoriya, and Iida were locked in place. Anxious to witness what was about to happen.

All attention was fixed on the two heroes, and now it was time for them to take center stage.

3... 2... 1... 0.

"I know it's a lot of information to process so quickly... Any questions so far?" Momo asked her partner, who had listened intently to her every word.

"Nope. All good on my end." Replied Peter. He was beyond impressed after hearing the descriptions of, not only his opponents quirks, but of his partner's as well. "You have the most amazing quirk I've ever heard of! It gives me an idea... You wouldn't be able to make me a piece of paper and a pen would ya?"

Momo smiled at the compliment. It truly was strange... She had grown up with such supportive parents and had a great group of friends that always paid her compliments and offered her such high praise, yet for some reason she could never take their kind words to heart. She always put so much pressure on herself that it had started to wear on her confidence, as she never quite felt like she measured up to the standards she set for herself. She couldn't wrap her mind around how it was possible for the words from Peter, a boy she had only just met this very day, were starting to build that confidence back up to its former glory.

"Sure." She said as she held out the palm of her hand and created an index card and a pen and handed them to him. "What do you have in mind?" She asked as he held the card against the door and began writing something down.

"Well I'm not sure it'll work, but if I understood correctly when you explained how your power works, you can create anything as long as you know everything about what you're making down to the object's molecular structure, correct?" He said as he continued to write.

"Correct." She responded with indication that he could continue.

"And you also said that you know how to make hand held explosives such as flash bangs and smoke grenades right?"

"Yeah..." She said becoming curious as to where he was going with his explanation.

Peter finished writing and handed her the card. She took it and began to look over it. It was an atomic model for something with small, detailed notes written out.

"What is this?" She asked utterly fascinated.

"It's the molecular structure of my webs." He revealed. "If you could put it inside the shell of, say, a flash bang along with some explosive components, you could use it as a capture weapon they would never see coming."

Now it was as if he was speaking directly to her soul. Brains and brawn. He seemed to have them both. Never in a million years would she have thought she would meet someone else who matched her love for science. This newly found piece of information about him made her heart flutter. She was beginning to suspect that they just might have a lot more in common than she initially realized. So much potential for future discussions... It excited her. In the heat of all her excitement she began to create something.

"How on earth do you know all of this about your quirk?" She asked him as she took the object from her forearm.

"Just from tinkering around a bit. I've always been interested in science. Ever since I was little, I'd come up with all sorts of experiments for fun. I actually ended up getting banned from the science fair when I was in fifth grade so the other kids had a chance to win." He chuckled.

She couldn't believe what she was hearing. She was about to see just how deep this rabbit hole went, but to her dismay, the countdown wasn't forgiving enough to offer time for idle chitchat. She slipped the index card into one of the pages of her encyclopedias she carried on her costume.

"Here. Catch." She called out as she tossed him the object she had just made.

Peter snatched it out of the air with his right hand.

"Go ahead and test it out! It was your idea after all." She smiled.

Peter pulled the pin and tossed the object towards the door. In seconds a mass of his webbing exploded against the door. "Whoa that's awesome! You didn't even need any practice." He said amazed. "You really are a genius!"

For the first time in what felt like a long while, Momo took the compliment to heart. She was definitely beginning to feel more confident the more she spoke to Peter.

She smiled at her handiwork but then her face became serious. "Alright, here's what I think we should do. First, we should gain a high vantage point. Ground Beta is modeled to simulate an actual city, giving you an advantage of higher mobility and plenty of rooftops for us to run along. With any luck, we'll be able to spot them before they spot us."

"Sounds good so far. What's step two?"

"Normally I'd say we wait for Bakugo's recklessness to give away their position. He hardly ever cooperates with anyone... Except Kirishima. Somehow, he's the only one who has earned Bakugo's respect. I wouldn't be surprised if Kirishima could somehow keep him calm enough to not split up or give away their position... Not immediately at least. So step two means we're going to have to use our height advantage to find them." She explained.

Peter nodded in understanding.

She sighed, "Which brings us to the part where things get... Complicated."

"And what would that be?" He noticed her demeanor switch from confident to slightly worried.

"Well, you see, I'm nearly certain that you've put a target on your own back without even realizing it." She began to explain.

"Oh yeah! I'm, like, super good at that." He responded humorously in an attempt to lift her spirits.

"Well, I'm afraid you've outdone yourself this time. Bakugo is the biggest hot head in all of Musutafu. He's also one of the most aggressive people I've personally ever met. He's explosive. No pun intended." She looked up from the ground and met Peter's gaze. "I know you were just trying to do your best on the entrance exam, but you tied his score. On paper, you two are on equal footing. Both standing in the other's way for a spot at the top... This is how his mind works. His pride is on the line here. He's going to be hell bent on hunting you down. Even if he has to level the whole city to find you." She watched as Peter's face hardened under the gravity of his new found situation.

"Ready for the complicated part?"

"Lay it on me."

"You're going to have to get in his head... By getting under his skin." She stated bluntly. She knew nearly everyone else in class would view this as the most insane, reckless, borderline suicidal course of action one could take in a fight with the spikey haired human bomb. To willingly stoke the flames of his rage would have been seen as a terrible strategy to everyone else in class 1A...

Except for Peter.

"I think I see where you're going with this." Peter said as he began to piece her reasoning together. "If I can make him fight with his emotions instead of his brain, he'll make mistakes."

"Exactly. I know it's probably not the ideal scenario for you, but if you're as capable as you say, I have full confidence in your ability to find a way to win." She assured him. "So step three will be the part where we actually engage them. If you can separate Bakugo from Kirishima, then I could take on the latter. He won't expect me to take to the rooftops. If I can't subdo him quickly, then I can at least hold him at bay until you can provide support."

"Sounds like a solid plan. Let's do this." He said as he pulled his mask over his face.

The pair stood and waited for the countdown to finish.

5... 4... 3... 2... 1.

HERE'S THE PREVIEW!!!

Yaoyorozu: "U-uh H-hi, I didn't think I'd have to do one of these so soon..."

Peter: "Don't worry! You're doing great!"

Yaoyorozu: "G-gee thanks Peter... Im really looking forward to working with you during our training..."

Peter: "Me too! With your brain, and my strength there's no way we can lose!!"

Bakugo: "THINK AGAIN YOU BASTARD!! YOU DONT HAVE A SHOT IN HELL AGAINST ME!!"

Peter: "Well aren't you a little ray of sunshine..."

Bakugo: "SHUT YOUR DAMN FACE!!! IM GONNA ENJOY FEEDING YOU CONCRETE!!!"

Peter: "Bring it on Temper Tantrum!!"

Kirishima: "Hey vice rep, maybe you should wrap this up before these two kill each other..."

Yaoyorozu: "Yeah good point... Next time!!!! GROUND BETA BRAWL!!!"

Kirishima: "Yaoyorozu here gets all warm and fuzzy inside after Parker jumps off a super tall building!"

Yaoyorozu: "Wait! What?!"

Kirishima: "GO BEYOND!!!"

Class 1A in unison: "PLUS ULTRA!!!"

Peter: "Seriously... why do we say that???"
