Elsa can't cook to save her life. In fact, when she does, the person ends up getting food poisoning.
Now did Jack. 4 hours ago, he had gotten food poisoning from Elsa's lunch.
Elsa handed Jack a pill and a glass of water, her face filled with worry. "I'm so sorry, Jack. I shouldn't have cooked. I feel awful."
"It's not your fault. The food was expired." He drank down the pill that Sebastian had gotten for him from the nearest pharmacy.
She interlaced her arms and brushed his hair with her fingers. "Don't lie to me."
Grabbing her hand, he, of course, lied. "No, I'm serious. I asked Loki, and he told me the groceries were months old."
"Well, that makes me feel better, but I'm nonetheless worried for you." She pecked his forehead and lay closely with him on the bed.
Cuddled up to her with all the energy he could muster, he whispered into her hair, "If this is what I get when I'm sick, I think I might just stay food-poisoned forever."
Pulling back a little, she swatted his chest. "Don't say that!" She delivered him the serious talk. "Now you have to drink a lot of water, take the meds Sebastian got you, and you should be good in around 12 hours."
"I'm just glad your family party isn't in a few days. I'd hate for you to have to miss it because of me." He brought her hand to his lips.
She cuddled closer to him and surprised herself with her words, "Your health comes first, Jack. I would miss anything to stay by your side and care for you. Please don't scare me like that. I still think you're lying to me, and I gave you food poisoning."
He cracked up. "Elsa, I would never lie to you." well, only when he doesn't want to die. "It's Loki's fault."
Hearing his name, Sebastian entered the living room. "Yes, how can I help you?" He turned his gaze away to see them cuddling on the couch. It was a private moment.
Ooh! Elsa was furious. For someone so calm, she could get angry quite intensely. "Sebastian, you were supposed to replace the expired groceries with fresh ones. Look at what you've done. Jack got food poisoning." She stormed over to him.
"I thought-" He shut up when he saw a finger on Jack's lips. Jack's face was nearly begging him to stay quiet.
Stopping him, Jack mouthed clearly, "It's your fault."
So he rectified himself and started over, "I deeply apologize. I should've known better. I'll replace them right away."
Elsa didn't want to be a bad person, but this frightened her to the core. "Thank you, Sebastian." And headed back to Jack's side.
"Elsa, don't worry about me. I'm ok. Honestly, now I'm feeling fairly alright, so I think we should go ice skating. What do you say?" He suggested, and to be reasonable, he hadn't skated in a while. Probably more than a year.
It didn't feel polite to agree to such a personal thing. "But it's a memorable thing between your mom and you. I don't want to s-"
This touched his heart because she remembered, and oh, how considerate she was. "Elsa, I went ice skating with my mom and sister. It's a family thing, and last time I checked, you are my family." He teased her, "Are you afraid of ice skating?"
"No...I mean...Well...No, I love ice skating." She smiled so broadly all her teeth could be counted.
He caught the lie straight through her. "Yeah, right! Alright, get dressed and make sure it's something warm; it's freezing outside."
It took a bit of persuading to get Elsa to agree to go ice skating because he was unwell, even though he said he wasn't anymore. He was fine now, not entirely, but because of the meds, and as hours passed, he was fine.
But his overprotective wife wouldn't agree to let him even get out of bed. Until she finally did after two hours.
The couple headed to their room, and Elsa demanded she pick outfits for them. For some reason, they both had plenty of hoodies and only now realized how much they wore them.
While picking out the outfits, Jack and Elsa unloaded all the luggage and organized the clothes, makeup, and other items in their designated spaces.
After straightening the mess, Elsa selected their outfits.
Elsa's hoodie was red, and her pants were blue; she had a royal blue fluffy jacket with gorgeous snow boots.
Jack's hoodie was faint blue, and his pants were shady chestnut; he had an oversized black coat with decent snow boots.
Unknowingly, Elsa had matched them.
A bath was a must for both of them. Jack was currently bathing while Elsa dried her untouched wet hair.
"Jack, should I put on makeup or not?" She knocked on the bathroom door while drying her wet hair, unsure what to do next.
"It's up to you; I'm sure you'll look beautiful either way." He emerged from the bathroom, freshly bathed and wearing only a towel wrapped around his waist, concealing the unimaginable while revealing his hard-earned abs.
Blushing and completely flustered, her eyes wouldn't move, and she couldn't blink. "Wow, you're hot!" The intrusive thought slipped out.
Jack flinched in spot and acknowledged that, yes, he was half-naked or, as some say, shirtless. "Oh...Well...Umm...No one has said that before. Thanks, I guess!" And his strange reply complicated the talk further. People have called him handsome but not hot before.
Elsa jolted upright on the bed and flailed her arms about nervously. "I'm sorry; I didn't mean to say that! I mean, you are attractive, and that's true, but I shouldn't have said it, and I should stop talking now."
Laughter filled the room as Jack unexpectedly hugged Elsa, leaving her completely drenched. "Your Majesty, you're pretty cute when you get nervous," he said. "Anyway, thanks for the compliment." He leaned closer to her ear. "Between us, you're hot, too."
"Right, and hey, you're glad I haven't put on my outfit yet! I'm all wet, thanks to you!" She snatched the towel that she used after taking a shower recently and drabbed herself.
Letting go of her, he giggled, "I'm sorry, Your Majesty." And kissed her soft knuckles.
Was he being romantic? Yes.
Was Elsa blushing? Yes.
After she had dried herself off, she tossed the towel into the laundry bin. "That reminds me, please stop calling me 'Your Majesty.'"
Jack blinked. "Why? It's a cute nickname and suits you. Do you want me to call you 'babe'?" He winked at her.
Hearing the word 'babe,' she turned red. "Stick with Your Majesty. It's the only one I can hear. Babe sounds off."
"Alright, then, Your Majesty. Hey, how about you call me babe?" Just an opinion, but he had to agree he desired the idea of being called babe by Elsa.
She absolutely wasn't expecting that, and to be honest, she hadn't thought of nicknames for him. "Babe?"
He gasped and comically stumbled forward in love. "Say that again."
"Babe."
"Yes! Perfect! It sounds adorable. Now please call me babe for like an eternity." When she didn't budge, he pouted, "Pretty please?"
This behaviour was, well, very much like Jack's, but she wanted to get past this topic. "Ok, ok then, babe." It would take time to get used to it.
How enthusiastic was he? He grinned, and the corner of his lips reached his ear. "Thank you! I love you!"
She didn't tell it back but bounced her head. "Anyways, now look at the outfits I picked and tell me, are they fine?"
"Of course, they will be; you picked them." He indicated at her and didn't even look at the outfits.
Rolling her eyes, she stepped ahead and forced his face toward the bed. "See, do you like them or not? I can choose another one, but you'll look extra handsome in these."
Oh, so he already was handsome? "They are perfect! Also, hey, I didn't even know I had this." He brushed his black coat.
"Idiot," Elsa muttered and sat on the chair by the mirror. "Babe, now tell me, will makeup look good with those outfits?"
He shrieked and slapped himself for no reason at all. "You called me babe!" She frowned at him, so he returned to normal. "Right, I'm sorry! Honestly, I'm not sure. I just know that whatever you choose, you'll look pretty."
This was so tiring. "So then maybe I should." Her statement sounded more like a question.
Jack stepped forward and squished her cheeks. "Whatever you want."
Elsa brushed his hand away from her cheek. "Put on your clothes and give me about an hour to get ready. Now that I'll be putting on makeup too."
He checked his phone for the time, and it was only 7 pm; they had more than enough time. "As you say, ma'am." He put on his outfit in a swift motion. "Alright, I'll be downstairs bothering Loki." And left after kissing her.
Standing by the entrance door, Sebastian saw Jack coming downstairs. "Is there anything I can do for you, Jack?"
"Did you replace everything in the fridge and donate the old one?"
"Yes, I donated it to an orphanage nearby."
Jack blinked and pulled out his chequebook from a drawer. "Donate this to the orphanage, too, please."
And Sebastian took the check but lightly gasped, reading the zeros. "Jack, this is 10 million dollars. Are you sure?"
As someone who had an orphan mother and wasn't raised in a decent environment, he had a special place for donating to orphanages. "Yes, I am, and please bring me all the locations of other orphanages near us. I want to donate there, too."
"Will do." Sebastian didn't know the reason behind his generous donations, and he never asked.
"Also, could you please arrange a cook and housekeeper for us?" Jack politely appealed.
Sebastian slid the check into his pocket. "Of course, I can. They'll be here before you even get back."
"Thank you! I don't want Elsa to be bothered." Jack smiled, and then something popped into his head. "Oh, and did you get my Buggati, and is it clean?"
"Yes, it is. It's outside the cottage right now." He pointed at the entrance door.
Jack sighed and scratched the back of his neck, "Thanks, and thanks for taking the blame today. I didn't want Elsa to get hurt."
Sebastian chuckled as if he related to that in his married life. "It's perfectly understandable. I've been there myself." He tapped Jack on the back.
"Ah, thank god! I was feeling guilty."
"It's fine."
Being the kindhearted boy he was, Jack furrowed his eyebrows, hesitating. "I'm not putting too much work on you, am I?"
Annoyed by this question, like always, Sebastian thrust his hand in the air. "You treat me like royalty compared to what I've been through. Don't worry, and you know me; if I feel overburdened, I'll let you know."
"Please do." Jack picked up the car keys from the table. "Let's check the car until Elsa gets ready."
"As you say."
Jack hopped in the air excitedly, seeing his car. "My sweet Bugatti La Voiture Noire! Oh, how I've missed you." He turned to his personal driver and assistant. "How did you get it here from Norway so quickly?"
Sebastian shrugged. "I have my secrets."
"I swear you are the best, Loki!" Right now, Jack was dying of excitement, mainly because Elsa would get to sit in his favourite car.
"No problem, Jack. If you allow me, I would like to go and search for a cook and housekeeper. I will have to do a thorough search to ensure that they can be trusted."
He was too lost looking at his dream car that he just murmured, "Hmm...yeah, sure, go ahead."
As customary, Sebastian stepped a few steps backward and then left in the Black Rolls Royce that he drives.
Sebastian was responsible for driving them around, but Jack told him he'd take Elsa in his car. It was a special moment for them, and Sebastian agreed. Now, he had other tasks on his hands.
Jack put the car keys in his coat pocket and went back inside the cottage. Elsa should be done by now, but if not, it was more than okay for him to wait for her. He was familiar with women and how long they could take sometimes.
Jack was overwhelmed with his own thoughts as he saw the beauty in front of him.
His wife, Elsa, walked down the stairs with a glorious smile on her gorgeous face. Jack was dumbfounded; how could someone be so pretty? This was perfection at its best. She was glowing and radiating love.
Elsa Overland wore an ordinary outfit, but she seemed like royalty as she descended the stairs to attend a ball she was hosting. Her outfit was beautiful—simple yet elegant. Perhaps it was Elsa herself who made it so lovely.
Because everything she touches turns to gold.
Her wedding ring shone brightly, causing his heart to beat faster. The delicate and tiny necklace and earrings sparkled on her. Was she even real?
It could be his imagination of her as a princess or queen of a kingdom who carries herself with such elegance. Or perhaps it's just because he thinks of her as royalty and will only see her in that light.
The makeup looked natural, and Jack knew that despite that look, there was enough makeup on her face, and it didn't change her features in any way. It only distinguished her features but not that much. Oh God, he couldn't even explain it in his mind; how would he put it in words?
Elsa Overland was, simply put, magnificent.
She was breathtaking.
Catching the awestruck Jack, she touched his cheek with her cold hands. "I have to say you look very handsome, Jack, or pretty, as you said once." She remembered every word of his; that's how significant he had become to her.
Her touch brought him out of his train of thought, so he placed his hand on hers. "I can't even find the words to describe how freaking breathtaking you are right now."
"Aww! That might be the most beautiful compliment I've ever heard. Thank you." His words truly took her aback.
Jack squeezed her hand against his cheek and then brought it down to rest at his side. "Come on now, let's go ice skating. I can't wait to show off your beauty to the world."
She stiffened, remembering the horrible memories. "I…I know that you think that I'm gorgeous, and thank you for that. It's just…I mean…I was bullied, Jack, and I'm sure the first person that sees me will only make fun of me and-"
With their joined hands, he pulled her closer to his side and whispered, reassuring her, "I'm with you, Elsa, and this time, I won't let anyone say a thing to you. Honestly, I believe you can handle yourself just fine now, but if not, I'm here; don't forget that."
"Thanks." She smiled.
Jack's smile went from ear to ear. "Okay, now, please, I'm dying here. I can't wait to show you our car. It's my favourite!"
Elsa laughed at his impatience but blushed whenever he said the word 'our'; It's just a word. "Let's go then." Her hanging purse slipped down her shoulder from the hurried pace. "Slow down, babe."
"Tada! And this, Your Majesty, is my favourite car; it wasn't easy to get, but I got it! Now you'll be the first person to sit in our car, well, other than the driver who drove it here." He groaned and crossed his arms as he thought about it.
Patting him on the back, she stepped forward to open the door, but Jack beat her to it. "What a gentleman you are, babe." The word was starting to settle on her tongue.
Jack was new to blushing, and for some reason, when she called him 'babe,' it made him blush. "What do you think?"
"It's a beauty, and the seats are so comfortable." She touched the interior of the car, mesmerized by it.
It was killing him, and he couldn't wait any longer. "Oh, you have seen nothing yet." He sat in the driver's seat. "So it's a convertible, the most expensive car ever made."
She looked at him, tilting her head in curiosity. "I thought they only ever made one, and a football player bought it."
Wanting to feel the material, he feathered his hand around the steering wheel. "I'm impressed you know about it. Well, I asked the company to make another one for me, and after some persuasion, they did."
"Damn it; you really are rich, aren't you? It still baffles me." Her jaw fell as she took the information in.
"Yes, we are rich."
She questioned, "How did you convince them?"
He shrugged as if it was nothing. "I paid millions more than what it's worth and told them the owner of The Frost Company wanted to buy it. That's pretty much all it took."
Just an owner of the Company was all it took, but again, it wasn't just a company. It was the Frost Company. "So they know about you? As in, you Jackson Frost Overland, the owner of The Frost Company?"
"Oh no, no, no, I sent a guy. Only Hiccup, Mom, and you know about my identity."
Not even Sebastian, that's a bit weird, but it makes sense. "You really trusted Hiccup with this?"
Jack smiled. "He's my best bud. We've been through a lot together. And well, you're my wife, Elsa. I trust you. There's nothing to hide."
"Oh."
He turned to the passenger seat and drummed her nose. "Now, if you're done investigating me, shall we go ice skating? I'm very excited. Also, hey, do you want the roof closed? I don't want you to get dizzy."
She shook her head because she gets sick fast. "I'll get a migraine, so no, please, and yes, let's go. I'm excited, too."
"I'll drive carefully, don't worry. I'm not a reckless driver. In case you're worried." Jack assured her.
It hadn't been that long, only around three days, but heavens, she trusted him with her life.
Elsa kissed him. "I'm not."
