An hour later, Jack's phone vibrated on his chest, and he opened his eyes to find Elsa sleeping on his chest.
By now, her hair and their clothes were covered in snow. This time, he decided not to take a picture and only live in the moment.
He was certain he would never forget this picture in his eyes.
Her chest rose and fell against his stomach, and her nose was scrunched as she napped. He knew it wasn't a nightmare; perhaps that's just how she slept.
Gently and as gently as possible, he pressed her shoulder with his index finger. "Wake up, Elsa." He ran his fingers through her damp hair so she could come out of sleep with calm and ease.
"Hmm...You're up, babe?" She mumbled, half asleep.
And he stroked her pink cheek with the back of his hand. "Yes, I am, and you should get up now too. Let's go home."
Eyes shut, she smiled. "Your cottage?"
"Our cottage. Our home." He corrected and traced her hairline lightly.
Finally, she opened her eyes, and those ocean eyes stared at his "I like the sound of our. Home sounds nice."
He nodded and faced her ultimately. "Sure does."
She held his hand and stood up from the ice. "Let's hurry then; it's around 11 pm, and we haven't even started dinner."
"Don't worry. I got us a cook." At least, he hoped Sebastian had found one by now.
Stopping dead in her tracks, she darted at him suspiciously. "And why in the world did you? Don't you have hands?" And pointed at his hands.
So he was in trouble, damn it. "Umm...Yes...No...I mean yes...I do have hands, but I don't want to di...I don't want you to exhaust yourself."
Hopefully, she bought his rambling, but of course, she didn't. "Just because you're rich doesn't mean you have to act like a spoiled brat."
Ouch, well, that hurt him. "Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't the Haddocks have cooks too? I only got us one, and they have like a billion of em." It counterattacks but not so politely.
She crossed her arms and inclined her head narrowly. "Well, yes, they do, but Uncle Stoick is the Mayor and doesn't have time. While we have time and can cook."
To be fair, he didn't want to perish from her cooking. "Pretty please?" he appealed when she didn't move. He gave her puppy eyes and added, "Is it working?"
"No, it's not. We'll go home, and the cook has to leave. How about for today, we get pizza?" She plunged her hands to her side.
He knew he had no say anymore. "Whatever you want, Snowflake."
Once again, Elsa stopped in her tracks. "Snowflake?"
"You don't like it? It kinda suits you."
"It's cute, but honestly, I preferred Your Majesty. Maybe I'll get used to this name too."
"I think every name suits you; rather, it's Snowflake, Queenie, Your Majesty, but Elsa is my favourite."
Turning away, she attempted to disguise her red face. "Okay."
He hugged her from behind as they walked to their car, the footsteps matching each other. "Don't hide your blush," he whispered in her ear. "I like it."
Shyly, she swatted his arm wrapped around her shoulder. "Idiot."
"So idiot is my nickname?" He gasped dramatically.
"It depends. Do you like it?"
"Any name that your lips leave is adorable."
The couple got in the car, and this time, Elsa requested the roof be open. She wanted to try it; it would be a good outcome.
After all, she had conquered her fears and learned how to ice skate today; maybe an open roof wouldn't be that bad.
Jack asked, and his eyes carried worry. "Are you sure, Snowflake?" He repeated the name that had already settled on his tongue.
It was such an adorable sight. "It's fine." Is this what it feels like when someone cares for you?
"Okay then," he let out, pressing the button. The roof folded elegantly as it slid back.
The cold air hit her warm face. This felt like freedom. She extended her arms up into the sky, and her fingers danced through the air, sensing the frosty breeze.
Love was in the air. As cheesy as it sounds. It was.
Soon, snow began falling again.
"Oh shit!" Frantically, Elsa's fingers flew to the button. This car was one magnificent, expensive car, and she didn't want to ruin it.
Noticing what she was doing, Jack snatched her hand and intertwined their fingers. "Just enjoy," he spoke softly.
How did he? How could he? How?
How could he have such an impact on her with just two simple words?
And the way he uttered them. His voice was so faded, and it sounded like snow itself.
Elsa leaned back in the seat and brushed her thumb over his knuckles before tracing his fingers. "Thank you, Jack."
"For what?" He arched his eyebrow as he looked at the road.
"For...everything." She smiled with her eyes closed, and the previous days rushed back as a movie.
It was painful to learn that throughout his entire life, his sole purpose had been to make life comfortable for his mother and to show everyone love and take care of them. Jack did that for Hiccup, and now he's doing it for Elsa.
Who took care of him?
Did he even tell others when he was sick or hurting?
Who was there for him when he cried?
Who was there to hold him after a nightmare?
All these questions hit Elsa like lightning and thunder together. It anguished her to think about his life.
She unhurriedly opened her eyes and discreetly peeked at him from the corner of her eye. "Oh, Jackson," she whispered to herself and her eyes closed again.
Jack Overland didn't know it yet, but the arrangement had flipped, and Elsa would make him enjoy life and take care of him, too.
A few hours had passed, and Jack went to the drive-through at Pizza Palace. "Hey, Queenie," he touched her shoulder, "what kind of pizza and drink do you want?"
The snow had stopped by now, and Elsa was relaxed. "Just cheese and a Fanta for me, please."
"Alright." He turned to the employee in the window, "One cheese pizza and one veg pizza, please. Also, if you could give one Pepsi and one Fanta, that'd be great, please and thank you."
"Is that all?" The kind young man asked.
Jack nodded and pulled out his debit card to pay. The total came to 63 dollars after conversion—nothing for Jack. Just a few hours earlier, he rented an ice rink and forced everyone out with a refund and an extra fee. This was nothing.
He was entirely infatuated with her.
Driving to the following window, he picked up their dinner, and Elsa took it in her lap.
After ensuring she was comfortable with their dinner on her lap, he drove to their cottage, which was only a few minutes away.
And soon reached their destination. "Jack, can you help wi-"
"Of course," he said, immediately coming to her side, holding the door open, and taking the food from her, leaving her empty-handed.
They walked into their cottage to find Sebastian passed out asleep on the chair and two other unknown faces in the kitchen.
It was quite a witty picture.
Jack raised his finger dumbfounded and asked the intruders, "Before I call the cops...who are you guys?"
Standing upright suddenly, Sebastian answered guiltily, "Hello, Mr. Overland; here are the requested employees."
But according to Elsa's orders, they weren't needed, so he was about to tell them to leave when they spoke.
"I am Dimitri, and I'll be your housemaid until you're here." Dimitri, a middle-aged man, bowed, which was very unnecessary; they weren't royalty.
"And I am Elena, and I'll be your cook. I can't thank you enough for the job. I very much needed this job. And it's an honour working for the Overlands." Elena was a young woman, assumed to be in her thirties.
The couple felt horrible notifying them they had to leave, so Elsa changed her mind. "It's lovely to meet you, Dimitri and Elena, and thank you for your help, but for tonight, my husband and I will be fine. You can start tomorrow, and Sebastian will take you to your place. Don't worry; all the bills are covered."
Sebastian smiled, and it was a beautiful smile, one loaded with gratitude. "Of course, I'll take them. Dimitri and Elena, please follow me."
"Have a good night, Mr. and Mrs. Overland," They said, walked a few steps back and then pivoted toward the door, facing away.
Was this a tradition? "Jack, why do they always exit this way?" She asked her husband as they took out two plates and glasses from the kitchen cabinet for their takeout.
His shoulders shrugged as if he didn't know himself. "Sebastian did it out of nowhere when he started, and now he tells everyone else to do that too." He snickered as he sat facing her at the dining table after she did. "I thought you didn't want a cook and housemaid. What changed?"
"This is their job, and they look too thankful to have it. How could I take away their source of income? Their families depend on them. Also, they seem like nice people, and I agree we could use some help." She sipped her drink to clear her dry throat.
Jack mirrored her and smiled. "Isn't my wife such a nice person now? God, I love you, Elsa." He rubbed his hands, looking at the pizza hungrily. "Now, let's dig in."
Elsa asked with disgust all over her face, "Jackson! Do you like olives? They're disgusting!"
"Wha-" He did a double take "-I love them."
One likes it, and the other doesn't; they are meant to be.
The Olive theory stamped their relationship.
They left the dishes on the dinner table and went upstairs to their room. "Thanks for dinner. It was delicious," Elsa enunciated as she changed into her nightwear.
"No problem," Jack told as he took off his shirt and put on shorts.
When he was done, Jack fell face-first onto the bed. "Jackson Overland? I'm trying to sleep!" She scolded him.
A playful smile appeared on his face. "Are you now?"
"Yes, I am." Still turned the other way, she wailed.
His fingers danced before him, and he pushed his lips together. "And now you aren't."
The air was filled with laughter as Jack tickled her. "Jack, stop!"
"Oh, so this is your tickle spot, Snowflake?" He tickled a few spots under her chin and above her stomach.
She was laughing so hard she was struggling to breathe. "Oh, this is how you want to play?"
She flipped him over, and currently, she was sitting on his chest. "No way, Queenie!"
"Startled now, are you?" She smirked.
Absolutely startled, and a part of him was amused. "Of course not. I'm not ticklish."
Challenge was accepted. "Oh, we'll see."
Her hand touched his side, and he burst out laughing like a child. His giggles were unfamiliar, something she hadn't heard before.
It was as if his inner child had come out now, and she treasured every bit of it.
In a blink, Jack had her pinned against the mattress with one hand. "Startled now, are you?" He repeated her words.
She couldn't respond; she took their position and merely hummed, "Hmm."
Smiling, Jack rolled his eyes and turned to the other side of her. "Let's sleep now; we have to go to your family party thingy tomorrow."
And after their mini workout, he was out like a light, asleep so intensely that nothing could wake him up.
Elsa scooched closer to his side and put her arm around his waist. She listened to his heart's music, and her heart danced to it.
A handsome man, wasn't he? She outlined his jaw and nose, feeling the sharpness and softness of it. His skin was so soft and clear as if made with cautiousness.
He was a work of art.
To be put in a museum.
His hair, oh God! Such beautiful white hair; how could such a unique thing stand out so gorgeously? Her hands flew through his white fluff.
Almost wanted her to appreciate her hair colour that she had forever loathed.
His nose wrinkled in sleep, and subconsciously, he put his arm underneath and over her. He dragged her even closer than she was.
Then, it dawned on her that he was shirtless, and she blushed from head to toe.
They both felt calm in each other's arms.
Their coldness was their warmth.

Astrid - So how was Ice skating?
Elsa - It was nice we even danced and it was snowing.
Astrid - That sounds romantic.
Elsa - It was. What about you and Hiccup? How's it going?
Astrid - Well yesterday he showed up at my door DRUNK and told me he had loved me since we were kids.
Elsa - Umm that's something. I mean cute for sure but weird.
Astrid - Then Dad of course punched him straight in the face and gave his drunk ass a lecture on how to treat me.
Elsa - And that sounds like the Uncle Finn I know. Also how is Uncle Finn taking his princess dating? What did he say?
Astrid - It was pretty awkward he told me to use protection since he doesn't want grandkids. I died of embarrassment.
Elsa - I'm literally on the floor dying of laughter. I wish I was there to see it.
Astrid - Not funny. Shut up.
Elsa - It feels like you're hiding something Astrid.
Astrid - Dad has been sad recently. I think now that I'm dating it really hit him that I'm not his little princess anymore. Almost makes me want to break up with Hiccup. I can't see Dad sad.
Elsa - It is a significant change but don't worry Uncle Finn is smart. He'll handle the change fine but it might take some time.
Astrid - I hope so. Anyways how are Jack and you?
Elsa - Astrid I love him.
Astrid - Excuse me? IT HAS BEEN THREE FUCKING DAYS.
Elsa - Love doesn't need time. Whenever I'm with him, everything seems right. I love him Astrid.
Astrid - I'm happy for you. Really really happy for you.
Elsa - Thanks and I'm happy for you too. Just three days and that idiot says he loves you. Jack said the same to me.
Astrid - These two are so similar I can't even.
Elsa - Yup. Ok I have to go now. Love you so much. I'll ttyl.
Astrid - Love you more. Bye
