Steve's POV

"So this is the vault." I looked up at the shimmering golden door.

"We've come this far, all we have to do it put in the key." Carina stepped forward.

She inserted the key into the lock and the door thunked as it started to open. Gears turned and pressure locks popped as the door slowly opened.

"Hmph." I scoffed a bit.

There was no vault, this was the door for the upper roof theater, the spot of the execution.

He always knew we'd be coming.

"You're right on time." Tesoro smiled snapping his finger to turn on the lights.

I looked passed him to see he had frozen most of Zoro's body into a golden tree like statue.

"There's no vault to rob, but the view is worth its weight in gold as they say." Tesoro laughed "Look you can even see the celestial dragons leaving with their tributes."

"Hmm?" I looked down and saw a boat full of crates "That's-!"

"Excellent work Carina." Tesoro clapped when the woman walked up to him and he watched a screen of Luffy's team in the pump room.

"What no fair you were cheating all along." Lil pouted.

"Well then this is a bit more annoying than I had planned." I rubbed my neck "Alright then…"

I let out a pulse of darkness "I guess I'll have to quit playing around now!"

"Are you sure you can avoid hitting Zoro?" Robin asked as I unwrapped my right arm.

"I feel confident." I told her "Hellfire Fist!"

These types of things usually have a way of working themselves out so since we're in a casino I'll ride with luck for a bit.

I held my arm down and charged up more fire.

"Money is everything, without it you have nothing, not even dreams!" Tesoro said "No strenght no freedom and NO HOPE!"

"HRA!" I threw a flaming punch at him only to be blocked by gold, the purple flames scorching around Tesoro.

"Even the flames of hell can't melt away the luster of gold!" Tesoro said "Don't be a sore sport you lost and got cheated fair and square."

"Really now." I darted down in front of them "Because I still have a card left. Did you think I was playing fair, you said everyone here cheats, so I was gonna cheat too?"

"What are you talking about?" he growled.

"You still haven't figure is out have you." I rewrapped my hand "That I won this hand."

The towers dotting the edges of the boat exploded at the tips blowing out seawater.

Tsk…stings like hell.

I upped my heat a bit to burn the water near me off.

"Two of them down there with Luffy." I sighed "When it comes to machines, I have no doubt Franky and Wyper can figure anything out, especially something as simple as rerouting a water pump."

"Super Comeback!" Franky jumped out of the water.

"What the hell is this?" Tesoro growled walking towards us under an umbrella that Baccarat provided.

"I noticed when we arrived that the towers at the top shoot golden water for your Golden Splash, I also saw you used it to signify the start of the show, and since you have no sense of not wasting things you probably do that at the start of every show, and Carina told me the same thing."

"What."

"I knew the next card before you dealt it." I looked at him and flashed my demon eyes "You shouldn't gamble with a devil."

"I've been switching sides a lot today." Carina said walking to Nami "But this time I'm for real."

"Is that so?" Tesoro grumbled.

"My treasure here was always the water, not the gold." I clutched my fist.

"Dropping Luffy and the others into the pump room was always the plan." Monet fixed her glasses "You played along so naturally it's almost sad."

"We'll be taking Zoro back now." Rose smiled.

"Luffy!" I roared "Quick sitting around already!"

"AAH!" he landed from the top of the spire.

"Nice job, you're up now." I smirked "I've got something of my own to deal with, I'll leave this to you."

"Right!" he jumped up.

"Send him to it!" "SEND HIM INTO DESPAIR!"

"Silence." I growled rubbing my head.

"I have the money that means I decide who gets to live!" Tesoro punched the ground and sent a wave of energy through it.

This is new.

The wave cracked the ground and sent a tidal wave of gold sweeping over the crowd.

"I don't care if you've broken free of the gold, I can do it as many times as I want!" he yelled.

"Let's go!" I grabbed Lil and spread my wings of darkness to fly out of the wave.

"Everything in this city is built to obey me, that goes for every ounce of gold and every person too!" Tesoro let the gold crash around him.

I landed on a ruined bridge down below as the upper tower crumbled.

"I think he might be angry." Franky said.

"You don't say." Wyper sighed.

"The show's not over yet!" Tesoro said "The second act will blow you away!"

A giant golden goliath rose out of the smoke, it was as tall as the tower had been and shined over every inch.

"He's not playing around." I said "I'm leaving this to you, I have something to take care of."

"Where could you possibly be going at a time like this?" Robin asked.

"Don't worry I'll be perfectly fine." I smiled flying off.

Lil's POV

"HMPH!" Rose held up an arm to block an axe "That's annoying."

"Two Gorilla Slash!" Zoro jumped over her and took a swipe at Dice only to have it clang off.

"Golden armor huh." She smiled.

"That hurt…I like it!" the bodyguard moaned.

"What a creep." Rose added spinning her fake hand into a drill "I'll have to cut that off."

"I wager that armor they have isn't just for show." Monet warned.

"Whoever takes the head of a Strawhat pirates will be very rich!" Tesoro boomed.

"But I like my head!" I worried.

Why would Papa go flying off at a time like this?

Elsewhere

Steve's POV

"HHMM!" I landed with a loud thud, the boat rocking as a result "I had a feeling I'd find you here."

I stood up and looked back "Lucci."

"Frankly I expected you sooner." he looked up at me "But if you're here then-"

A pulse of darkness shot out of me as I transformed.

"If you so much as breathe in the same direction as her." I roared "I'll burn you so bad there won't even be ashes left!"
