A/N: ZareEraz here! I'm almost done catching up to where HQV and I are in One Piece! Hooray! So here's the next update and I hope you enjoy it! Don't forget to comment! ;3

As of February 2021: Heyo! Just so you know, I have written a related mature story that continues into the sexy bits mentioned in this chapter. You don't have to read that one if mature isn't your thing and you won't miss anything, as I wrote it to stand alone, but it is a nice addition to this chapter. The story is called, "Something Special," and can be found in the Mature section. Take a look at it if you want :3

Chapter 19: If Memory Serves…

God, I can't believe I did that! Zoro sighed to himself, leaning against the Merry's railing. Even if I was being manipulated, I shouldn't have attacked Luffy…

Whilst on the sea god's island, the whole crew's memories had been stolen, with the exception of Robin's. They'd all woken up the next day on the Merry and hadn't the slightest clue about where they were or what they were doing together. They split up, their attachments to each other gone, but eventually, Robin and Luffy (who had regained his memories when confronting the sea god and his helpless boy puppet) were able to get everyone back together, minus Zoro. The swordsman had wandered off on his own for about a day until the boy with the horn had found him again. That was when his personality and memories were almost completely wiped away and his only goal was to kill Monkey D. Luffy. He'd begun searching for the idiot in the straw hat and had run into Usopp and Chopper, and all three of them had eventually found the rest of the crew. However, having no recollection of his captain and boyfriend, Zoro had attacked out of the blue, aiming to slice the teen's head off. When he failed, Luffy had smiled at him, casually asking the man what he was doing. However, when Zoro had faced him, his glaring eyes had conveyed everything. They were cold, devoid of the surly warmth that usually filled them. Zoro was not a lovey-dovey friendly kind of man, but he'd always had affection for Luffy and kindness for all of his friends. To see such warmth vanish, well, Luffy thought that those eyes were reserved for enemies only. Zoro was most definitely not himself and he was out for blood. Luffy's carefree manner slid off his face, and Zoro drew another of his swords. Luffy didn't like it at all, but if Zoro wanted to fight, then he was going to get a fight. He'd just have to make sure he didn't pound his boyfriend too much.

Robin had tried to intervene, but Sanji stopped her, instantly sensing that the swordsman was acting completely different than he had on the ship the day before. In mere moments after that, Zoro was attacking Luffy again, hell-bent on killing the young man. After dodging the first strike, Luffy had stretched his arm up into a tree and yanked himself onto the branch, while his first mate continued to glare at him.

"You sure are being reckless," Luffy remarked after the swordsman had cut down the tree he'd been standing in. "You're not being a good boyfriend at all right now." All of his comments were met with silence and more ferocious glares. "So, uh, I guess asking you to stop is a waste of breath, huh?" And it was. Any attempt at reasoning with him was met with silence, and Chopper had pointed out that he might be under extreme hypnosis, which made sense to everyone else, considering the ridiculous situation they were in right now. Sanji had dropped Nami's gold on the ground and called for everyone to work together, but Luffy had other ideas.

"Stay out of it," he ordered, having finally taken on his captain role. Luffy ordered his crew to move on without him. They'd been shocked, but their shock turned to horror when just one of Luffy's punches had split a tree in half. Nami had been horrified thinking about what would happen to a person's body if they were hit with a punch like that, and Sanji couldn't believe that this was the way that Luffy was going to take care of his supposed friend (and boyfriend, apparently). But Robin knew exactly what had been going through Luffy's mind and told her crewmates so.

"Because the swordsman's his friend, because the captain knows his opponent's strength, he knows that he cannot stop him unless he fights him with everything he's got." She'd then urged them forward, leaving her captain to his work.

Then the fight had truly gotten underway and just thinking about it made Zoro cringe. He'd used his Three-Sword-Style against his captain, attempting to butcher him with every strike. The whole forest had become their battlefield; trees toppling, boulders getting crushed and slashed…it was a mess. Zoro had managed to nick Luffy's precious face, and he'd used Oni Giri against him, slashing his chest open. Even looking at the bandages Chopper had put on him afterward was nearly unbearable. He'd done that. But during the entire fight, even though Luffy had been looking at him seriously, fighting him seriously, the love that Zoro hadn't understood at the time was still there in his eyes. Luffy had never given up on him and he'd never stopped loving him for even a moment as the swordsman had tried to kill him. And that's what was eating at him as the Merry sailed away from that damn island.

"That's got to be one of the stupidest things that we've ever been through," Zoro sighed, scratching his head.

"I'll say," Nami nodded, "And it was all that seahorse's fault. I can't believe that it thought it could be a dragon. How idiotic."

"Well, at least one of us is too stubborn to let something like lost memories stop him," Robin commented. "Luffy's the one who got us out of that mess."

"Yeah, but he doesn't really care about that. All he's disappointed about is not getting his bronze statue," Nami sighed. As if knowing that they were talking about him, Luffy shot himself up onto the upper deck and tackled Zoro.

"Zoro!" Luffy shouted angrily as he glommed onto the green-haired man's back.

"What?" Zoro asked, getting the feeling that he was in trouble, but he let Luffy wrap his arms and legs around him just like normal.

"You owe me something special!" Luffy pouted, putting his chin on the top of Zoro's head.

"And why is that?"

"Because you were really mean to me!" Luffy shot back. "You attacked me, cut me, and got me stuck under a boulder!"

"I guess he does care a little bit," Nami noted.

"I was trying my hardest not to really hurt you and you were trying to kill me! So you owe me!" Zoro thought about all the trouble he'd caused his lover and decided that the best way to say sorry was to make him feel good. If all could be forgiven by something special, he'd do anything for Luffy.

"How about we fuc-"

"Forget about that!" Nami interrupted. "Let's just get out of here before anything else weird happens!"

"Aye, aye!" Luffy said with a huge smile. He'd gotten something good out of the conversation so he didn't care what they did at that point. "Where should we do it?" He asked.

"I don't know…how about in Nami's room?" The swordsman teased, waiting for the violent reaction from the orange-haired woman.

"NO YOU DON'T!" She whirled around and smacked the swordsman in the face, sending him tumbling over the balcony and landing on the lower deck.

"Ow! Nami!" both Luffy and Zoro whined.

"I don't want to hear about that! Go make up somewhere I can't see you!" Nami shouted.

"Ewwww!" Usopp and Chopper teased, dissolving into giggles. "They're gonna be alone alone!~"

"If memory serves," Zoro shouted up to the navigator, "You said we could use your room."

"Only if you pay and I don't need it! Do you have the money for it?" She asked with an evil eye.

"No, but you also said the storage room was okay," Zoro shot back.

"Then get in there and don't let us hear you!" Nami growled.

"Let's go!" Luffy chuckled, leaping to his feet and dragging Zoro into the storage room, shutting and locking the door behind him. Two seconds later, the door was slammed open and Sanji was kicked out onto the deck by his captain. The cook brushed off his pants and picked up the supplies he'd been gathering for the kitchen.

"Couldn't they at least wait until I was done getting in there?" he sighed. "I'm never going to be comfortable going in there now that they've taken it over."

"Now that's something I wish I could wipe from my memory," Nami joked, getting a laugh out of the remaining crew as they let their captain and first mate be.
